1. Intro - What is Android​
Android is a Linux based Operating System (OS) designed mainly for mobile touch devices (Smartphones)
First Google bought Android Inc. but the Android Inc. developers (just 4 people) joined Google and announced
Android together on 11.5.2007. First "Droid" was HTC Dream which was released on 10.22.2008.
2. Versions of Android
Android versions were named by deserts in alphabetical order
Android 1.0
First Android came out with smartphones on 9 February 2009. Android included features as:
Alarm Clock, demo of the UI (User Interface), camera etc. This version was very unstable
Android 1.5 - Cupcake
This update/version has unleashed a flood of Smartphones when it first came out 30 April 2009.
Features as: uploading to Picasa or YouTube, support for third party keyboards, auto screen rotation were
added.
Android 1.6 - Donut
This version striked at 15 September 2009 and it first ran on HTC Hero along with new system UI,
voice and text entry search etc.
Android 2.0 - 2.1 - Eclair
This version was made from SCRATCH in a record time from last update - 26 October 2009 and
it added Bluetooth 2.1 support, new camera features(flash, zoom etc.) and this version was significantly faster,
than previous updates.
Android 2.2 - 2.2.3 - Froyo (short for Frozen Yogurt)
Now we are at more known versions of android starting from Android 2.2 - Froyo
Firstly seen on HTC Nexus One on 20 May 2010. There was alot of changes,tweaks the most
recongnizable ones were installing aps on SD card, automatic app updating in market and visuably
changed UI.
Android 2.3 - 2.3.7 - Gingerbread
Gingerbread was unleashed on 6 December 2010. It added bigger screen resolution
support XVGA and Higher. This update was more hardware based, it added 2 new sensors (gyroscope, barometer),
support for 2 cameras (now front facing camera can be used) etc. Updates after 2.3 so 2.3.2 - 2.3.7 were mainly
fixing bugs.
Android 3.0 - 3.2 Honeycomb
This update was meant only for tablets. It came out on 22 February 2011 and the the first Honeycom tablet - Motorola Xoom.
Android 4.0 - 4.0.4 - Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS)
ICS was release together with Google Nexus 19 October 2011. It was featuring a lot of fixes
and tweaks like: 1080p video recording, face unlock, beter and faster UI, hardware acceleration etc. etc.
Android 4.1 - 4.3 - Jelly Bean
Jelly Bean first hit on 13 July 2012. It includes multi lockscreen support, MOST IMPORTANT improved smoothnes
Google's project Butter, expandable notifications, and a lot and I mean a lot of new features, bug fixes, tweaks etc. etc. ​

3. Rooting​1. What is Rooting and WHY should you root​
Ok so rooting is basicly adding root acces to Android (so you can edit, delete, copy system files). Let's put it this way: Remember when you were a kid, some parents (luckily mine don't) put your user the normal type so when you want to install something, game or program you would be asked for Administrator password that allows you to modify system. That's exatcly what rooting is - unlocking your device.
2. Pros/Cons
Pros:
If your carrier blocks Wi-Fi tethering now you can use it
Root apps on Play store
Custom boot animations
Custom kernels, recoveries
(better) use of Custom Rom
Cons:
It voids your warranty BUT you can unroot your device there's lots of apps for that on Play store
and DO NOT forget to replace custom rom with stock and custom recovery with stock
3.How to root (remember I am using GT-I9070 find your own resources)
This is the only tutorial that varies from phone to phone
1. Take a trip to here: http://www.androidrooting.com and search for your device and current
version of android! If you don't find your device there ask uncle Google
2. Now I personally got root.zip. If you get this kinda package you are lucky. Just put it on your ext.sdcard (later you will be able to do this from
internal). Reboot in recovery (search for recovery combo) usually you have to press Vol. UP + Home + Power until phone vibrates. Than just
choose install-zip – install zip from external sd card – select your root.zip and flash it once done reboot and thats it.
3. To make sure that Root has succeeded go into menu and check for app SuperUser or SuperSU or SU or download root checker from Play Store.
4. Now take a snack and ENJOY your Rooted phone
Now you can get to root by other way – by Odin. In that case:
1. Open Odin (Download below)
2. Put yor device into DOWNLOAD MODE a.k.a ODIN MODE (Usually Vol.Down + Home + Power) not RECOVERY.
3. Connect your device
4. Box with ID:COM# should pop up blue or yellow
5. Click box next to PDA in Odin and select downloaded file should be tar or md5
6. During the proces device might reboot into recovery to instal SuperUser
7. Click start and WAIT UNTIL YOU GET PASS IN ODIN THAN YOU CAN DISCONECT YOUR DEVICE.
8. To check if you are rooted search for SuperUser or SuperSU or SU in app drawer(MENU).
9. ?????

GT-N7102 Dual Sim Rom from China with Google

Hello everyone, this will be my first post here on XDA but I was looking yesterday for a rom and found that there is no support for my phone.
I am currently living in China and I have purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note II model GT-N7102 Dual Sim International phone. I want to say I am not a chef and I hope that some of you can take this rom and use it to help others customize there phones. This rom was written but a Chinese man who didn't reveal his identity on the site I found this rom however I have installed it on my phone and it is working great. China still blocks most of Google's apps but when I am in the States they all work just fine. I hope you can enjoy this rom some of the install is in Chinese but push thru it once installed you can change the language to English no problems.

[ROM][RK30]WizzRK "AmatROM for Rockchips"

Welcome to AmatROM series.
Information:
I cooked a Touchwizzed Rk30sdk ROM.
Simply the best ROM for Samsung lovers.
WizzRK stand for Touchwiz for Rockchip.
"WizzRK = Wiz + Rk"
The ROM was tested on a Moroccan Tablet: Yooz MyPad 750 HD. Google it to compare its specs to your tablet's ones. It similar to Prestigio PMP5870C_DUO at 100% but I can't guarantee it will work on this since anything for this tab didn't work on the Yooz.
Disclaimer:
This is ROM made by a Linux Amateur and NOT a High Level Developer.
So you may some bugs. However, I am using it since longtime with no issue.

Installation:
Instructions are included in the package.
- Download and Extract the package.
- Open RockDevelopTool folder and open up RkAndroidTool
- Put your Tablet in Flash Mode (Read instruction in package for more info)
- When your is detected, Click "EraseID"
- Finally Click, "Run"
- After the process is completed, the device should boot automatically.
Bugs:
- Touchwiz in landscape is a bit buggy
Q/A ~FAQs:
1) Your Tablet display a blackscreen and nothing more ?
- Replace "Boot.img" with your tablet's one.
2) Your tablet goes into a bootloop ?
- Replace "Boot.img", "kernel.img", "Loader.bin", "Misc.img" "Parameter" and "Recovery.img", with the ones from your TAB. Just be sure your tablet's kernel is a 3.0.36+ one.
3) Do you get a "Problem loading widget" error and Touchwiz force close ?
- Get root file explorer (Root Explorer for example) and go to /system/app then copy everything in ".temp" folder. Now paste them to "system/app", replace if prompted. Now reboot. If still not working, leave a comment below.
4) You found the process too complicated and you can't flash the ROM ?
- Sent me your tablet and I will flash it for you :silly:
5) Your Tablet is completly dead and you cannot succeed flash the ROM again and again ?
- Restore it with your backup or an official firmware for it.

How to Flash Stock Official Firmware
Make sure you have the correct Stock Recovery

Method 1 - Stock File Manager
1. Put zip package in phone root directory internal storage (IMPORTANT).
2. Open Stock file manager app. Find zip package and open it,
There are 2 option,
Update Now (left) and Cancel (right).
Press Update Now.
Wait patiently till complete.
Method 2 - Stock Recovery
1. Put zip package in phone root directory internal storage (IMPORTANT).
2. Enter recovery.
Entering the recovery mode:
- Turn off your phone.
- Hold and press the volume up key + power key together about 10 second.
- Press volume key to select Recovery Mode.
- Press Power key to enter the Recovery Mode.
3. Select Apply update from internal, depends where you put the zip package.
Look for the zip package and select it.
4. Wait patiently till setup is complete.
Downgrade to 1.16
Downgrade is for users who want v1.16 Stock FunTouch 1.2 ROM or to obtain ROOT at 1.16 Stock ROM.

How to Downgrade
Method 1 - Stock File Manager
1. Backup.
2. Factory reset.
Settings -> More settings -> restore factory settings -> Erase all content and settings -> Reset phone.
Or you can factory reset in stock recovery.
3. Put zip package in phone root directory internal storage (IMPORTANT).
4. Open Stock file manager. Find zip package and open it,
there is 2 option,
Update Now (left) and Cancel (right).
Press Update Now.
Wait patiently till complete.
Method 2 - Stock Recovery
1. Backup.

Method 1 - Vroot
1. Make sure you have 1.16 ROM
2. Install USB driver on PC
3. On your phone Enable USB debugging (Open stock dialler app and dial *#*#7777#*#* and then toggle on USB debugging)
4. Download and install VRoot (PC version) http://www.mgyun.com/en/getvroot
5. Now ROOT with VROOT.
Method 2 - Towelroot
1. Download and install the application on your device towelroot.apk
2. Open towelroot, press the big button.
3. If everything is successful, after a few seconds, you see the following screen with the message that "you should have already get ROOT, a reboot is not required."
4. Exit the application, put the SuperSU Google Play.
Method 3 - KingRoot
1. Download and install the application on your device KingRoot.apk
2. Open KingRoot, tap on the ROOT button.

Install Google Play and Google Vivo (image below)
Go to Google Vivo app.
There will be 3 green bar.
Open the 1st bar it will install/load something (image below)
Next.
Open the 3rd bar. (image below)
A Message box appear and choose the left option. (image below)
This will download the Google Play Store.apk
Once complete, download and install it.
Note: In notification bar you can install it straight away)
(Apk Location is in SD card\下载\App)
Now you have Google Play Store.

Ok, looks like many of you experience Gmail issue, since i got Gmail to work here is my full story.
After installing/flashing your Custom ROM.
Clear data/cache on Gmail.
Reinstall Gmail app in Play Store .
Freeze "Google Play services" using titanium backup.
Download APK link here and Install Google Play service 7.0.99.
Get gmail2.apk from ZIP 6.10.3/system/app or download link here
put Get gmail2.apk it with RootExplorer into /system/app.
Reboot.

Anyway.
I tried the lastest 2.0 Custom ROM v6.12.2 by Bine and Drov44.
Both can flash without factory reset.
Bine's v6.12.2 Custom ROM has Gmail issue, there is a fix for that and
Viper4android works.
Drov44's v6.12.2 Custom ROM Gmail is working so as Viper4android.
I can't get Xposed Framework to work for both ROM. Not sure this can work with wipe though.
So I had to return to 6.11.1. I need that Youtube Adway and Gravity Box.
Do you know why it was shut down?
I found bine on a Russian forum, not sure where everyone else went. I was hoping it was a short term problem. It's a pity it's gone as there was a lot of useful information for the Xshot and Xplay.

Yeah same. Lucky i saved most of my guide in a text document and Google Chrome Cached.
I already notice the RUS forum, can't seem to register.
Thailand Vivo Facebook is very active though.
So what ROM are you current using?
I'm still using 1.16.2. I am happy with the stability, all camera controls work as they should, too many complaints on the Chinese forums about deterioration in photo quality and the hard controls not working with zoom etc.
Also complaints about battery life was another factor for holding off.
Xposed framework is installed and all the modules are working. GPS is spot on, cell location works 100%, Google Playstore and services update without problems.
With Funtouch so heavily skinned, I see little point at this time to upgrade to Kitkat.
I did install Nova Launcher early on in my purchase, but saw no real gains in speed, and missed the layout and benefits of funtouch.
My wife has Lollipop on her Nexus 5,and having had a play with it, I don't think I'm missing out.
I will keep coming back to this thread as I may update when it looks like it's really worth it

Glad to found you here with the Xshot thread with you. Miss the Vivoforums. Anyway all is well now as I know you will keep this thread alive. Anything worth having in the new update (2.0 6.12.2)? Would like to have a crack on that MIUI Rom V6 as I have it in my MI2 but hate to flash & back if not that smooth as I'm expecting. Hope some people (Vivoforums members), will find this thread and can share their experience.

I don't know.
I'm on bine FunTouch 2.0 6.11.1 with a bit of modification like disable unwanted app, GPS fix and Gmail fix if you have. It's sufficient enough.
I find the GPS and Camera are working quite flawless but i'm no expert. The battery Screen On Time on FunTouch 2.0 is better than 1.2 in my opinion. I get 1 extra hour of Screen On Time.
For Nova launcher, i need the 5x5 home screen and the app drawer. Thus all my phone have Nova Launcher.
Agreed on the Lollipop. i tried CM 12.1, some of the feature is already featured in FunTouch 2.0.

For 2.0 6.12.2 update, i think it's minor so nothing interesting. I can't seem to install Xposed Framework on any Custom ROM running 2.0 6.12.2, so i decided to fall back to 6.11.1.
I'm in the same boat as you, just to lazy to flash MIUI ROM since you have to Factory Reset. Could Backup APPS only in TWRP Recovery and restore it but i never tried it.
I'm glad to know that we have this thread in xda. I didn't get any update and information for the last 4 month after vivoforum been shutdown. Lollipop is still in progress i believe, just enjoy your current version you won't miss anything.

I've rooted my xshot. I try to update to rev 2.5.3, but after the download completed and I try to install it, it say need to boot into recovery mod (stock recovery). But when I boot to recovery mod there's nothing to install. Then I reboot to see if anything goes wrong, it just show the notification that my xshot got new update, need to download it again. I tried several time to update but still the same. So I decided want to flash any stable custom rom. So any suggestions? Which one I should try? V6.11 or V6.12? If I flash one of these rom can I just flash it without wipe data/factory reset? Can you please attached more screenshot?

All version are stable, but some have Gmail issue there is a fix for that but require extra time and cannot install Xposed Framework etc.
Bine 6.10.3 - No issue.
Drov44 6.10.3 - I haven't tried it, should be ok.
Bine 6.11.1 - Has Gmail issue.
Drov44 6.11.1 - No issue according to users.
Bine 6.12.2 - Has Gmail Issue and Can't install Xposed Framework.

You MUST Wipe/Factory Reset if you are coming from any Chinese and International FunTouch 1.2
If you're on Any Chinese 2.0 Custom ROM if can flash with NO Wipe/Factory Reset. Example are you're on FunTouch 2.0 v6.9.7 Custom ROM, it can Flash 6.9.8, 6.10.3, 6.11.1, 6.12.2 with no Wipe/Factory reset but if you are experiencing problem if might have to factory reset.

How to Install

I never have touch distortion issue, probably use a different keyboard might solve it.

What current ROM you're using right now?
Is your device Rooted?
What current Recovery do you have?
What's the desire ROM you want to flash/install?
Yes I rooted my device using towelroot.apk,
I used twrp,
My desire rom is cm rom that have cm function like my old s4, they used to have plenty of rom that based on cm.
Let us forget about it. Now this is my current situation.
I flashed funtouch OS 2.0 6.12.2rus. I love the new ui.
The problem is...
Battery drain too fast,
Cannot use other launcher,
Can't detect flashdrive,
Didn't have option to select 3g only,
Others work perfectly. By the way, about my touch distortion it is because I used my powerbank damaged USB cable. I tried with other cable and it's working, but when I unplug the cable, the distortion still there. Thanks again for providing this thread buddy ?
Hopefully they solve the battery drain problem for the future update.
Did you Root your phone at 1.16 using Towelroot.apk?
For Battery life
You just flash a ROM recently, probably need to wait couple of days to judge the battery life. Does the battery drain by standby?
To change launcher
Go to Imanager -> App mgt -> Default App Setting -> The Default Desktop -> Now select your Launcher
I can connect a 8GB flashdrive using OTG cable working fine.
And 1TB Portable Hard Drive using the OTG Y cable it needs power though so i plug one of the Y cable in to a Power-bank. Working fine.
To connect 3g only is to go to Setting -> Mobile Network -> Network Mode -> Select 3G(pref)/2G
I can't comment about the Touch Distortion issue, never experience this before.

one of the first features found when you go to turn on the phone and the Manu phone unlock style andorid jelly beans but for practicality and speed are those of Android lollipop. another thing you notice, and the reaction of the system when you go to open an application. then there are other things that make this a unique ROM, that is all based on CyanogenMod 10 and 12 and of course a version modified by me personally and by other developers (Zeta99 and Unity Team).
Now I show you a list of all the new features:
