SmartMessenger
Aim : To be the most visually customisable, adaptive and secure SMS app there is. Oh and the best looking

Open Beta
There is now a play store listing for SmartMessenger without so anyone can try the beta and not have to join google+ Please note I still consider this a beta (but obviously open to anyone) so any suggestions or requests, comment in this thread. The G+ beta group (restricted) is still live and will get early versions.
The kind of input I'm after is from "you" the potential user:
Help me prioritise the development and order of features
Suggest corrections, amendments or additional features
Find and eliminate bugs

Features and Status
SMS messaging and emoticons
MSMS (Media\Link SMS)
This is also done and uses google drive to send full size images (as doc link) inside the sms. This to me is better than MMS that costs way too much here in the UK and has very silly limitations. Ability to send any type of file and maybe any size, connection allowing! The other individual if not using smart messenger will get a link, if they do use an app capable of resolving links, it will be presented in a icon form!
SmartMesseges SMS
This is a special type of message that will still be handled over sms, more info soon
More details shortly
Procedural UI generation
This is done and working, it's what the current themes use. Basically it builds android drawable resources at runtime. So no static xml or bitmaps. The advantage of this is not space, or speed for that matter. But it will allow me to implement a theme/visual creator that will allow users to create and mod any aspect of the visual UI
This also breaks from the norm. as I don't agree with lots of googles own guidelines, I want to be able to have 1 handed operation on my phone, thats why this app doesn't currently follow the actionbar pattern, well that an many other reasons
There is an online theme library currently of about 8 or 9, always up for suggestions
TO DO: Advanced in-app theme creator
Message Box Management
Can currently create message boxes and have them as targets/destinations for messages. Locking features are there, I'm just looking at the best ways to allow unlock/unhide while it's not apparent that anything is hidden
TO DO: Enable security and locking features, implement global unlocks
Filters and Rules
This allows creation of simple, but powerful rules to control anything from message box distribution, forwarding, autoreply, notification controls to even daisy chaining units together and having multiple units spider the messages. Also includes REGEX triggers too
Rules can be used to trigger custom reactions, notifications, LED colors, auto replies and forwarders etc
Schedules
As it stands you can schedule texts and have any time periods you want, and add ending conditions like amount or date/time
TO DO: Test and maybe add adaptive elements to it, such as a variable part that is populated based of some rule (like happy Xth brithday) and it fills in X
Notifications
The notifications are controllable per person via rules and filters, and can trigger and override all options with things like custom vibration patterns sounds popups etc
Secret Messagebox and Messages mode (Blind Security)
Want to hide something and not show that it's hidden ? Watch the security vid for an overview!

Honestly it looks amazing and I'd love to test it out. The one feature that is basically a necessity for me is available in textra in that the app automatically turns on the mobile data temporarily to get an MMS. It was a huge pain for me since I tend to have mobile data turned off because I have a limited data plan. If that was in this I'd easily replace textra with this.

NO MMS, not even sure I want them to be honest, slow, small and costly... better to use the GDrive link sms that are in SmartMessenger... but I'm more than open to consider it. This is still very early in development, so anything that is worth it, I will add for the masses

I understand that it can intercept SMS messages and be used as the default texting app, but does it work the same way with Google voice texts?

I'm in. Using sliding messaging right now but this looks promising!

Not at all, ONLY SMS afaik
While in testing always better to set the op mode to "Process and Passthrough" anyways, so it doesn't consume any messages, if you're not sure that is

IIRC I wanted something similar, and also to do BAND switching. Unfortunately, google took out the api's required to do that, so that it would be ALWAYS a user choice. So not sure if that will ever be possible again (post gingerbread)

Actually thinking about it, DO NOT TRY SmartMessenger image sending, cause it will send (until I put some controls in) FULL SIZE images. So not nice when your phone takes 2-5mb image potentially and sends it for sharing to GDrive. I will add to the dev list, image size control See I never thought about limited data caps previously, what with my unlimited data plan

Well you have some valid points, I should never assume that data is all free and limitless But like I say, watch out for next few days, cause I will add some image limiting to the attachments, so maybe I will have size/dimension resampling, like resize to 8k or something Be nice for user to control the data flow, I can imagine you have to be VERY careful because of how apps abuse and use data these days

Stateside, there's only 2 networks that still have unlimited data and both have horrendous service so I'm stuck in a 2 gb plan. I subscribed to the thread so I'll definitely keep an eye on it and see what develops. Overall, watching the data isn't too bad since I just keep mobile data off and turn it on as needed but I still need to keep an eye out. Oh well, ces la vie.

[APP] Mango/PocketManga (HD Manga Reader)

Hello Peoples of XDA Developers! Today I'll be sharing an APP that is definitely my most favorite one on Android...It is called Mango and it is an HD Manga Reader for on the go!
Mango provides many features such as My Library which allows a user to download specific chapters from any manga and basically save it on your phone for Offline Reading. It also has a Favorite section that allows a user to bookmark his/her favorite series and then get the latest updates just for the chosen ones. Another great part about this APP is the number of sources it provides such as Mangareader.net, Mangastream.com, Mangafox.com, Mangashare.com, MangAble.com and lastly AnimeA.com.
Those sources basically give you the most available series possible for a Manga App.
Here is the Dev's Page:
http://mango.leetsoft.net/
Here is the Market Version. It is called PocketManga:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.ls.manga#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDIxMiwiY29tLmxzLm1hbmdhIl0.
EDIT: PoketManga has been removed from the Android Market...Just like Mango's fate HOWEVER, Victor will still keep the updated versions on his website, so make sure to check it out!
Here is the free version's latest .apk:

Hello Peoples! The Dev of the Mango Manga HD app is making a request for ALL users to switch to Mango v1.4. Only 26% have done so, so far. The reason being is that firstly...1.4 is BETTER, secondly the Dev has acquired a new server which will host the Manga queries BUT v1.3 runs on the previous server. So instead of paying for 2 running servers, he recommends EVERYONE to download the latest version and then you will be able to enjoy the most out of the app!

Mango 1.4.140 (Renji) is now available. This version adds auto-download new chapters feature, data folder override, return of the zoom vibration, a few advanced options, changes to Bankai validation (separate app no longer required), tutorial skip option, a few Notifications fixes, Inverted Color Mode crash fix, and speed improvements in the Library Browser. Download it from:
http://mango.leetsoft.net/apk/140/Mango.apk
Nice to see this is still supported, even though it is off the market.
NEWS:
Quick Announcement guys! SInce Victor (The Dev) has placed Mango on the Market and Google removed it twice for no specific reason, he will be changing the name and try to post it on the Market again.
By a Poll, the new name is gonna PocketManga and the App icon will have "L" from Death Note.
Mango and PocketManga will be updated at the same time and gradually we will switch to the new name PocketManga only if Google does not remove it...
Anyways, hope everything goes well and then many more people will be able to enjoy this awesome app
Just got the new link:

Tinfoil hat here, I can ensure you this app is safe.
The dev has explained why he needs those permission in the official Mango profile on Facebook some months ago. It's just anonymous statistics that he uses for debug reasons. Anyway, you can opt-out with just a click if you don't feel sure.

Mango developer here, felt I should chime in.
Fair warning, this is a huge post, but I'll explain exactly what these permissions are used for, and how they are used.
The Read System Log permission is used for debugging and troubleshooting purposes. As you use the app, Mango writes general diagnostic information about its performance to the Android system log. Later on, if the user goes to Send Feedback and selects "I'm having an issue", Mango will include diagnostic information from the log along with the user's message. I've found this to be invaluable when the user emails me stating "it doesnt work fix plz" and the diagnostic log shows that their SD card is full and Mango can't write anything to it. Most importantly, when the app force closes, a stack trace is written to the log pinpointing the exact line of code causing the FC.
A few things to note about the log data:
-It only ever leaves your phone when you use the Send Feedback function, compose a message, and send that message via your Email app (the diagnostic data is appended to the end of the email, you can view it before sending, or delete it if you don't wish for it to be sent)
-You can view the data at any time by going to Settings and Help >> Advanced Options >> Debug Log
-Only data that Mango has written to the log itself is ever read from the log. Though the system log is shared by all apps and the OS itself, Mango filters the log to only read data with the "MANGO" tag.
I am planning on implementing a custom logger soon so that Mango can read and write log data in it's own isolated log file, allowing me to remove the permission requirement.
Regarding the Read Phone State and Identity permission, this one is used to get the device UUID. The permission also allows the requesting app to view the phone number of an incoming call, which is why the header is "Phone Calls" in the Android permission warning screen. Mango has no reason to see or use that data, so it does not ever use the functionality, but it's a package deal included with the ability to use the getDeviceId API.
Unfortunately this one is required by the MobClix SDK used to display ads and is used by Mango to differentiate one device from another. Since there are no usernames/user accounts, but Mango uses an external server to do lots of the app's work, the server needs to be able to tell one device from another, and since IP addresses are often shared between many phones on a carrier, the server uses the device UUID instead.
It is important to note that the Mango Service does not associate your UUID with any reading history or favorites... that's kept on your device and never touches the server (though in the future, I might add an optional cloud sync feature). The only data associated with your UUID in the server's database are your Android version number, your phone's model number, your Mango version number, whether or not you've purchased the ad-free version, and the total number of times you've started the app. This lets me generate some basic stats about the app's usage, which you can view here:
http://mangoservice.leetsoft.net/stats.png
The UUID (rather, a hash of it, not the ID itself) is also used by the Flurry Analytics component which provides me with some more detailed (but still aggregated and anonymized) stats regarding app usage, such as how many users per week I see, what paths users most frequently take throughout the app, the number of favorites users have, and the Preferences they have enabled. For example, it lets me see that about 46% of Mango users have more than 20 favorites, about 14% of users check the "Left-to-Right Reading" option, and that only 8% of Mango users use the filtering option in the Favorites menu (clearly, it's something I need to promote more visibly in the next version, because it's an awesome feature and almost nobody is using it... :S ). I can't tell which options any individual user is using, since all of the data is aggregated and anonymized.
The user must opt-in to analytics... it is disabled by default and is only turned on if the user selects "Yes" to the "Enable Analytics?" option that appears when you first start the app. The user can also change this setting at any time from the Preferences menu.
/whew, I think that about covers it. Obviously there's no way for me to prove that what I've said above is true and it's completely up to you to believe me or not. But I write and maintain Mango as a hobby (though, thanks to the incredible response it's received, it's a hobby that's paying for my tuition!) and I really don't have any nefarious plot to use your data.
If you have any more questions, let me know. I don't check this thread super-frequently, but if you email me ([email protected]) I'll probably get back to you within 24 hours.
Also, thanks iasookia for making this thread!

The actual download speed simply depends on the network connection. I have been using Mango, and now PocketManga, since I got my Android Phone and haven't had any lags or slow downloads per se.
When I used my carrier's data, it would take about 3-4 min to download a chapter to the Library BUT at home, with WiFi, I get a chapter in like 40 seconds.
There is an issue however, if there are too many people on the same time, the server can't support the queries and then the downloads are slow...

AirDroid... yet another like Remote Web Desktop

I'm not, by any means, a developer or affiliated with AirDroid in any way. <--- definitely advertising
I came across this app earlier today and it is honestly one of the most useful apps I've ever seen. It gives one the potential to view his or her messages, calls, contacts, files and everything else on your phone FROM YOUR PC (or Mac) WEB BROWSER. All you have to do is type in a gateway that you get once you open the app on your phone. It'll take you to a log-in screen, which precedes a "desktop" with all of your phone-everything.
One of the coolest things is that it automatically syncs anything you do within the web browser to your phone and vice-versa. I.E. this is one of the few/only app(s) that will show pictures and full contact details within the web browser. Unlike other apps, if you send or receive messages, your phone logs and conversations will also be updated..as if you never used the app to begin with.
Per usual, you need to be connected to the same wifi network from your phone and PC/Mac/iPad/tablet you'll use to "control" your phone.
There aren't any notable downsides that I've read of or come across. This is simply a solid app that has unlimited potential.

*Just to clarify, I purposely did not put this in the app section. I'm not attempting to solicit the app, only get the word of mouth out and get a discussion going on how you all feel about AirDroid<--- definitely advertising

As a rule of thumb I delete Kies Air at first because it's bloat to me. But I tried using it as often as I'd use AirDroid. Kies Air is just so slow, laggy and well...bloated. At least the web version. I'm the kind of person who loads saves ALL of his texts. So Kies attempts to automatically load EVERYTHING on your phone at once: texts, calls, music, pictures, videos, files. Software-wise it's not necessarily efficient.
To answer the original question- yes. But this is faster and cleaner in every definition of the words. Much simpler UI with faster transfer speeds and won't hog up your bandwidth because it only loads data as needed.
*Edit from here and below:
I guess the reason for the lag behind Kies Air is due to the fact that it runs a Java applet on your web browser. AirDroid runs a much cleaner JavaScript that's linked with HTML5, as I understand.
It's up to you, of course. But after trying both, I don't think there's any actual competition as to which app is significantly faster and more efficient.

Yes, in some aspects Kies Air does the same thing.
However, AirDroid is 12094820394823 times faster! The ease of the interface is amazing. It's a truly innovative application if you do a lot of files transfers through your phone. I use my phone like a thumb drive all the time. This only makes it easier. Sending messages while doing work on my laptop without having to type on the phone's keyboard? Yes please.
I would easily pay for this app.
I would like to see a novel contact manager built into the app. Something that is really functional and efficient. We all know that google contacts and android's address book are both a little weak in the functionality department. If the developers of the app can make such a solid app, I'm sure they can come up with a creative contact manager to integrate into AirDroid.
awesome app, but it would be even more awesome if u can fully utilize your phone (like literally browse through phone functions on a PC) on the web browser

This looks absolutely amazing. They must have spent quite a bit of time to make this app as awesome as it is. And completely free? Crazy.
Which is the only reason I have qualms about it. How can a company invest so much into an app that generates no revenue whatsoever in the Market?
I am always weary of apps that have complete access to all of your personal information (which the app needs to work correctly) and have no obvious avenue for generating revenue.
Maybe I'm missing something here? Are there ads?

Thanks for supporting AirDroid. Actually now, AirDroid also supports remote access to your mobile, even when your mobile is not around and not in the same wifi, you can access it to Web browser by enabling the auto wake up mode in APP.
There should be a screen viewer option.

To the first point, Kies is Samsung proprietary. They may do similar things and Airdroid is faster, but for the HTC phones I have, Kies really lacks in the "working" dept.
Secondarily, I am unsure if your statement includes the web-based Google Contacts in desktop browser but I find it quite sufficient for my needs and is obviously synced with Android if you use Google apps.
For every other need, I would imagine the import/export functionality of Google Contacts would make it easily portable to other platforms and then able to be ported back. "Insert simple script here " tacked on to said platform enables full auto sync.

Background
I use Google Voice as my primary number, and it's been frustrating that Google has failed to add very many interesting (necessary?) features to their Google Voice app. In addition, they don't have a public API, so it's difficult for developers to work with it. I've been searching for solutions all over the interwebz since Google Voice was Grand Central.
I've been using this app for a few weeks, and have since reached out to the dev, offering help with testing and offer to possibly work with him on design aspects in the future.
Why I think this app is great
• One app to manage your SMS messages (Carrier & Google Voice)
• Google Voice popups and quick reply without another 3rd party app
• Uses your stock messaging database to store messages (backup apps work)
• Very nice to have a Google Voice alternative that actually works
The Futurree
In speaking with the developer, once all bugs are ironed out, he's got plans for future theme addons, more popup options, GV Message sync (difficult).. and possibly *optional* FB Messenger and Twitter DM integration. I've already themed myself a version which I'll post up.
The developer will also be adding LightFlow support soon.
Important Details
The app is a TRIAL, and subsequently is available through in-app purchase.
I'm posting this because I know you hardcore GV users would probably like to check this out... and we all know that Google Play store discovery is still terrible.
Current Bugs
The only bug I've encountered is, when a message is sent while in Landscape mode, it will be sent through your carrier. The dev has acknowledged this and it should be fixed within the next day or two. If you're on Gingerbread, it should work fine, but feel free to chime in if you have issues.
I've also read that MMS may have issues, especially if you're trying to send directly from the Gallery.

Hope you guys enjoy this as much as I am.
My Inverted version of the app:
I'll add screen shots later.
You'll need to uninstall your current version (don't worry about backing up data.. Will be resynced).
Download inverted
Mod edit: Link removed
Note, you won't receive play store updates for this app if you have the inverted version installed, but I'll usually have it updated within hours after a new ver drops.
very nice, will try it out.
Tried it and it's a no-joy for me
I have a Samsung GT-i9100 International (SIM Free) with a pay-as-you-go AT&T GoPhone sim in it.
I just put Android 4.1.2 I9100XWLSE_I9100OXELS6_ALO.zip (I know how to use Odin, etc) and rooted it with CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip thru recovery and off the sd card. Works perfect, not I can us my TB Pro w/root on the phone,
and I got the phone working sweet (I am in the USA and did not want to wait for a OTA or KIES upgrade)
I have GrooVe IP to use Google Voice to make/receive calls over 3G/H+and avoid the $1.00 a day and $0.10 a min AT&T charges.
I text thru GV too. I only give out my GV # because honestly why would I use the carriers # and pay to use a regular phone.
I have looked all over to integrate the native text app into GV and I read that this app would do it.
It does not (for me). I basically have a stock ROM rooted with a IP telephone program on it and the data packages are $25 for 1 GB and then I buy a 5MB package for $5 every 30 days and the amount rolls over. So a cell phone for $5 a month, yeah, on AT&T, YEAH! but this app does not integrate with the stock/plain messaging app.
I have followed all the instruction, disable notifications, etc. as listed on the PLAY store and the website.
It is (from what I can tell) work with 4.1.2 because the screen shots he's got up there do not look like the one's I have and I did not see anywhere that it asked to use GV for native SMS.
So maybe someone has seen this, done this and got it working......
any info?
thanks
philmiami
ok I guess I figured it out
This does NOT integrate into the EXISTING text app. It is separate entirely. So I just move the icon for the stock one from the menu bar and put this one down here. Disable in GV like it says and it works as described....
Guess i should have spent more time with it, good thing I got 3 different cell phones to work with to implement this.
I really want to save my $0.20 per message
PS:
Got it working it just replaces the native messaging app, works with GV and bam......free SMS :good::good::good:

Interesting. Those of us using GV have but few choices indeed. I haven't looked yet so questions might be answered elsewhere I suppose. Still..
How does this app know about new texts? Does it check directly or does it rely on GV notification?
Are the popups user definable? (Droid Notify comes to mind)
Is there a repeat reminder option? (Droid Notify comes to mind)
How much memory does it require while monitoring events? Is it a service or can it be easily terminated by the minfree manager?
How long is the trial?
I gotta go and read more before asking more questions..

I'm replying with Tapa talk, so bare with me
1. AFAIK, the app is dependent on the Google Voice app, which needs to be installed and configured. (See play store notes). It does not rely on GV notification, though.
2-3.Popups are not yet user definable, but I've spoken with the developer and have suggested this. Options in droid notify, notifierpro, and light flow are my inspiration
4. Memory as a cached process right now is 14MB. I'd have to check ROM Toolbox to see the actual events, but compared to other apps I've tried, it's relatively light and doesn't require extensive permissions. FWIW, I'm using a Note2.
5. The original trial was a small number of messages. I talked to the dev and he extended it. It could still be longer and I'm going to push for that. I bought it the first day tho.. I actually paid $8 . Lol. I highly recommended he lower it, and he did.. But totally worth it for me either way.
Hope that answers your questions

Sounds good. Although I do like the Droid Notify popups I can live with a simple taskbar notification. What is important (to me) is the ability to set reminders for every X minutes, ideally different first sms and voicemail. If the dev would consider adding a missed call reminder as well I could take another app out.

Not too bad, especially if I can remove or even or two things. I am on an HTC HD2 which is a bit memory starved with everything I am doing.

The Inactive Skyrocket Projects Thread

This thread is dedicated for the skyrockets no longer being used for service. The purpose of this is to see what kind of life we can give this phone other than keeping it in a drawer. as of now this does not have any original development but ideas and hopefully we will get some developments with this. please feel free to share your ideas, links and screenshots of things you may be doing with your device if it's inactive.
1. XBMC
Whether you are wanting to use the device around the house or on the tv xbmc is an awesome solution for your media needs. I have a media server in my house with dvd .iso's, music, and games all being delivered to my networked devices so one cool way to access the media is xbmc. for those of you who don't know xbmc is xbox media center it was originated for the original xbox for those who moded. It has evolved into one of the best open source multi-platform media solutions around.
I downloaded the app from here personally I'm using 13 RC1 gotham the app itself seems to be downloading as a .txt so you need to rename it to .apk before installing. once installed launch the app and any media on the device will be detected any media you have on your home network can be set up to access it by browsing to the source. The app will play most popular formats and will play .iso videos directly. If anyone runs stock firmware I'd like some input on if you can use mhl with xbmc as well as a bt mouse and keyboard giving you a decent tv experience on the cheap.

2. Child Friendly device (WIP)
For me this is going to be a proof of concept more than an actual thing. My son is 4 years old and sometimes to entertain him in public settings or if he's been good we let him play games on one of our phones for a while. this obviously has some issues since he's an evil genius and likes to tinker. I'll be using nova launcher prime for this use case. First add any apps you wish to allow the child to use to your homescreen, delete the app launcher button and hide the notification bar (set gestures as needed). make sure you hide any apps you don't want them using from the app drawer, also make sure you have play set up to ask for your password every time, alot of the free apps have links to other apps which they try and buy (trust me my son pulled it off on the wife's iphone). The pics are just a quick mock up of what you can do to handle most of the little things kids try to do. i had two finger swipe up for app drawer and down for notifications hide anything i don't want him using and I have my password set so he can't buy anything without me.
im fimiliar w/xbmc , openelec, xbmcbuntu etc. but i never tried the android version, which one did u try, the arm or x86.
btw on firefox they both dl as an apk file
I was using chrome So that may be why, arm is the one you need for the rocket.

Nice note for those at home. If you rename libril.so it kills the no sim warning and stops the cell radios. So for unused devices it will do wonders for extending battery life.

I use mine as an MP3 player/GPS. I removed all telephone/SMS/MMS related apps from vincom's superlite AOKP and get 5-6 days on a charge with 3.5-4 hours screen on time, and with GPS and Bluetooth always on. I didn't rename libril.so like you suggested but it doesn't seem to search for a signal nor does the status bar have that black triangle you get when you don't have a signal. I've been running it like this for about a month. @TheCybertronian, I think this thread is a good idea. This phone still rocks even when you don't use it as a phone anymore. Now I'm wondering what else I might be able to do with it...
@1BadWolf I was never a fan of the rockets audio quality so I used my evo 4g for mp3 but I will do a write up for it in the next few days.

No, it's not great but installing King Beatz helped it out a lot.
My plan is to build a mount for it and put in my car semi-permanently as a digital dash using Torque and a BT OBD-II adapter, and navigation using CoPilot. I also want to try using a mini BT keyboard/mouse to control it, so that could get interesting.
@rpr69 if you do id like to see you do a step by step with materials used and pictures, think you can pull that off?

I have tried installing KingBeatz (current version, test version and 2 older versions) from http://goo.gl/C83XrX (xda link just shorter). I can't seem to find it in my app drawer or in Apollo's settings. Can you give a play by play for your install method (maybe with flashable zips)? I see the Beatz app as a system app when using "System App uninstaller" from the Play Store.
I removed Apollo and DSP Manager to see if that helped, no dice. Maybe because I'm on an Avatar 4.3 rom?

I just flashed the zip posted in the thread that you linked. The app that it installed is called Beatz and is similar to DSP manager but with a few changes. You'll need to have one of the MP3 players listed in the op of the King Beatz thread, though because the zip file doesn't install a separate player.
Baby Mon/Security Cam
I realize I'm not breaking the mold here, but I've always kind of thought that I'd use it in conjunction with a IP Webcam App to serve as a security camera or possibly baby monitor if we end up with another baby. In combination with DDNS it can be used remotely and cost next to nothing to maintain.

If I get time I'll try to throw together some screenshots and walk-throughs but it's really pretty simple. The app I've used is here , it's easy enough for anyone to use and can be viewed on a browser. If you get on your router and forward the port you choose (8080 by default) to your phone's IP you can view remotely. It even has a dedicated mode, which I've not played with but is what planted the seed to begin with.
its pretty easy
1st find your phones ip address
from phone open ip webcam> start server
pc browser "put phones ip address here w/out quotes":8080
webcam browser window>video>browser or which ever method works for you
you can record, take snapshots etc
Just found this thread - good idea. Sometimes I use the SR as a backup with Magic Jack while I'm fixing whatever I was trying to do with the new one (SGS3)

Realized that my Skyrocket had been sitting in a drawer for almost two years now and I want to make good use of it. This is exactly the type of thread that I was looking for when I came back to this forum. Any other ideas floating around out there??
Well..for those who like to play around with stuff, this phone has all the required hardware for packet injection and WiFi monitor mode. Using the bcmon app you can enable and disable monitor mode on the WiFi chip.. Cool for penetration testing and general fun. Also I was able to get Kali Linux running and on-screen viewable using linuxdeploy app and vncviewer.. Runs pretty decent. Also I agree the audio on the skyrocket is awful. I may check that kingbeatz thing out.

I'm not going to do that. Instead I deleted EvolveSMS and keeping this one. It's a keeper app. :good:
Here is somethings that I have already discovered and some opinions about it. Haven't even checked everything yet and going to keep up testing it thoroughly.
Multilingual support is a must for this app to gain popularity. I use it in English, but can't even recommend this app to my sister right now, unless it's getting a Finnish support. I suggest using a Crowding to make it hapen.
While editing conversation threads there are buttons to select all and deselect all. When I first opened app, I had no clue what these buttons were and kept hitting those until figured what those were. Maybe needs some clearer buttons. Of course it could be just me.
Mark votings active/ended (maybe green/red small text under question mark or color coded question marks). I now tried to vote and got an error "No UDD". Maybe changing it to something like "Voting of this has ended".
Directly call to contact from inbox by holding name and from popup choosing "call to sender".
Option to keep topbar visible.
In settings those activation/disable buttons are nice, but I always think those as levelers and keep trying to slide those.
While sending an SMS it would be nice if there was a tickle box for delivery report. Sometimes it is needed, but I don't wanna go through settings first to enable it and after that to disable it.
While in a sending SMS screen there is a possibility to type names and it works nicely, but sometimes it would be better to have a button to open contacts and then tickle everyone who You would like to message to be send. Sending a birthday invitation to everyone on my contact list takes a lot of typing.
Sorting inbox threads by name could be good, if there is a lot of contacts.
Resending a SMS by holding a message and then choosing resend.
There You go. Hopefully there was somethings that helped you to make this even better app. Myself I'm going to keep this app as my daily use message app.

Totally, just at the moment even the video tutorials on filters and the like are out of date due to how much I'm changing advancing the dam thing every day , when I think the structure and layout is final, along with wording then yeah...will deal with translations

Well, there is an interesting thing that I'm thinking of adding that kinda makes me hold off on this....as in mobile design I'm not happy with use of UI bars... the FAB idea is a little better but not good enough for me .... so one thing on the list is a new way to "control/edit" visuals/data (that will be optional) ... for now though you have bottom bar and log press (on an item) while in selection mode
Mark votings active/ended (maybe green/red small text under question mark or color coded question marks). I now tried to vote and got an error "No UDD". Maybe changing it to something like "Voting of this has ended".
UDD is experimental at the moment, I'm tweaking how it calculates and yes need to sort some of the messages out, it probably means you have not got a high enough score to vote....though it should say that
Directly call to contact from inbox by holding name and from popup choosing "call to sender".
Long press on the threads icon and you can call or view contact etc ... if thats what you mean
Option to keep topbar visible.
The most important thing in my design and consideration is to allow total control (or as much as possible) so yeah, this can be done in "UI Config" you can turn immersive mode off, and even still toggle to hide top bar so yeah, total contol
In settings those activation/disable buttons are nice, but I always think those as levelers and keep trying to slide those.
Well the same drawable view is used for sliders too
While sending an SMS it would be nice if there was a tickle box for delivery report. Sometimes it is needed, but I don't wanna go through settings first to enable it and after that to disable it.
you mean something that asks, do you want a delivery report ? Could be an option if thats what you mean.. . though I would have to say that the default would be no dialog asking, you would have to opt it on, any time you want a feature ... try the feature request here on xda or on my bug database... cause then it's more like an official request (also means I dont forget)
While in a sending SMS screen there is a possibility to type names and it works nicely, but sometimes it would be better to have a button to open contacts and then tickle everyone who You would like to message to be send. Sending a birthday invitation to everyone on my contact list takes a lot of typing.
100% agree and have been meaning to do this for....well.....(looks at watch)..3-5 months, just other things keep popping up in the priority list
Sorting inbox threads by name could be good, if there is a lot of contacts.
Yeah I plan to have a very comprehensive search system, so you can do selective backups too... but this wont be this month
Resending a SMS by holding a message and then choosing resend.
It should already do this on "failed" messages, if not let me know!! Cause it would be a bug
There You go. Hopefully there was somethings that helped you to make this even better app. Myself I'm going to keep this app as my daily use message app.

3. How do You get more scores?
4. Tried that but it looks like it has to be a short press. It's there then.
5. Couldn't find a option to do that or is this still under development?
7. Where is the bug database? No I mean a text that says Delivery report [X]. Like this: http://i.imgur.com/1y43F3r.jpg
10. I don't know about failed messages, but sometimes I need to resend same message to same person, so best would be just hold it and click resend.
I also send an request to join G+ beta channel.

Just joined to Beta app and registered to bugtracker. Also I posted details of your app to local android related finnish forums. Might get few more users. :victory:

well just put out a new release with changes... available now from repo or in a few hours from play... fixed sched and added option to resend, though oddly not tested it
Looks great. Scheduling options as well as pushbullet support are a deal breaker though. Add this and it will be right up there with Textra and EvolveSMS

what do you mean scheduling ? I think it has one of the most advanced shced systems there is, it's easy yet advanced conditional scheduling ? Or do you mean something else ?
RE : Pushbullet I did ask all current users of SM if they wanted this in a UDD within the app, they said either no or not bothered... if you would like it and have the influence you can vote in the UDD panel
hmmm UDD is User Driven Development btw
Request
Would appreciate anyone on T-Mobile U.S. testing the new send method in mms (need to be in advanced mode) and reporting back...thanks
I have many sms without country codes and the app automatically adds the current country code where I am now. But, not all sms end up having correct codes.
Is there a way not to add country codes automatically?
Also,
Messages received from service providers and others with a name not a number appear as ERROR.
