Working sdcard class 10 after installing custom ROM ? - Sony Xperia L

Hi. A friend of mine got a new Xperia L. With the official ROM a lot of people seem to have a problem with sdcards from class 10.
From what I know, most custom ROMs are based on CyanogenMod, by which I understand they have the same drivers. For any of you using this smartphone and after installing a custom ROM: has anyone gotten a class 10 sdcard working ? Being that it didn't work before with the official ROM.

Hi this thread should be in Q&A,yes xperia l have problems with class 10 sd card ,but some class 10 sd card works well as many people confirm that.Maybe sony relase a update to fix this bug.

Hi, My 8 GB class 10 card works well. I only find the load of files a bit long when booting the phone but that's all.

I think it is. I bought it the day after I bought my XL but it's too difficult to open the back cover!

My class 10 (16 GB) card started working after the 2.17 update, didn't work first.

That's not very important yet, all is great except Chrome and STAMINA which prevent my LED from working
Do these updates solve the LED issue?
Edit: I think I'll do that! If it fixes the multi touch bug and bring small apps...

[Completed] i need help with I9505 SIM card removed issue

I bought a used s4 a few months ago and every now and then (approximately two times a day) it says sim card removed and i need to reboot. i installed CM13 thinking it was a software problem, but it didn't work. I read that it has something to do with the SD Card so i went back to stock and removed my SD card, and the problem stopped, for a month the phone worked fine. But i wanted to use a custom rom so i used the "ear plug foam" method (opening the phone and placing a piece of foam above the sd card tray to put pressure on it) and then i installed CM13 again and the problem returned even without the SD card. I really don't want to go back to stock again so can someone please help.

H60-L02 EMUI 4.0 Issues

Hey all,
My H60-L02 was running EMUI 3.1 B535 and i upgraded it to EMUI 4.0 6.9.1
It works fine and i installed TWRP 2.8.7.0 V5 which also works
but the second i try and root or sideload Gapps, it boots back into Android and its pretty corrupt, the launcher is just blank, but the lock screen, camera etc all work, i even managed to open the huawei app store and install apex launcher which works, but the whole OS freezes and is clearly corrupt.
I tried the downgrade method posted here but the recovery always freezes as 5% no matter what.
So im happy to make the best out of EMUI 4, just curious if anyone else has has this issue, also the multi tool seems a bit outdated for EMUI 4.0 support, is there somewhere else i can look for the latest OTA/TWRP/Gapps for EMUI 4.0?
Thanks
I managed to successfully downgrade back to EMUI 3.1
When it said to put the update on an SDCard, it meant a physical SD card

You can pretty much do anything Multitool does but manually.
Have you do factory reset after updating? It solves many problems.

yeah i typically do my own unpacking and flashing, i just use the multi tool for easy access to the correct versions of recoveries etc.
i should have tried factory reset, sometimes the best methods the most simple.
I have pretty much given up on EMUI 4.0, im back on 3.1 with B535 which is fine and stable.
Planning to get a new phone next month so i wont bother tinkering too much more with all this

Alrighty then. I just think it's a shame to give up on a firmware just because it seems unstable when it's not.
What are you getting?
Bit of a late reply i know.
I got a Xiaomi mi5 but returned it because i didnt realise how bad the camera was.
I have a google pixel xl now, and i was going to put my H60-L02 to good use and give it to my dad who has a galaxy S3, but a $5 sim adaptor destroyed the 4G sim card slot, so now i need to find a replacement board online

Hey guys,
The patient is an Android RK3188 5.1 unit from Xtrons for a BMW. The manufacturer is "GS".
After installing basic apps the unit started to really lag, not to mention that the touchscreen stopped working. So I flashed it with a factory MTCD 5.1 KGL rom and the installation went without any problems. After that I had to flash it back to a GS ROM, so I used something I found here on XDA a while ago, namely "GS_NEW4_rk3188_5.1(20160305)".
The installation went without any problems, but the unit then stopped on the "Lollipop" logo. It doesn't go to the car logo after that, just stops dead at the Lollipop screen and that's it.
When I try entering recovery, it works like it should, but the unit blurts out a crapload of info and errors, like the ones you can see in the attached pictures.
Updates don't work anymore.
Please note: I did NOT try to update the MCU on this unit. Only the Android software.
What's the problem with this unit? How to get it back to its normal state?
Picture descriptions:
1 - how recover looks like upon entering it.
2, 3 - sorry for the blurry pictures, but it's hard to snap a good picture of the moving text. You get the idea - a thousand errors or so.
4 - when I try flashing a regular KGL rom that worked on the unit before.
Did you tried this from sd card in GPS slot?
Never had success with that, only from usb drive.
Maybe you try this and it helps...

Yes. USB doesn't work.
Test it with another usb stick.
I have the same problems with some of the USB3 32GB Sticks from Sandisk.
SanDisk SDCZ43-032G-G46 Ultra Fit 32GB USB-Flash-Laufwerk USB 3.0 ✓
SanDisk Ultra Dual USB-Flash-USB Stick 32GB USB 3.0 X
Test all USB Ports and formate the sticks fat32
Use stick as small as possible.
Same to gps card. Use 16GM max, and all works as expected. Got some problems with 32gb cards. Took too long to show covers...
So, essentially, the problem here is the SD cards or USB sticks?
I don't think that's the problem.
I know how to update headunits, and it never mattered whether I used this card, that card or that USB stick... in fact, I only use microSD cards for updates, nothing else.
What the problem is is that the update breaks the unit, rendering it impossible to use.
I need to know what is the cause of that, and how to REVERT the damage.
Please read my first post again.
looks like the internal flash memory is broken. From your pics there is a line where the recovery is trying to make a partition and fails. It might be a pain in the ass but try to get xtrons to send you another SOM board.

Thanks for your reply.
Can you, or somebody else explain how is it that the unit got screwed when installing a new ROM?
I did not touch the MCU or anything else. The unit is a RK3188 MTCD Android 5.1 one, and I used a different MTCD ROM.
It could be anything, like any flash drive/thumb drive, sometimes they just go bad. It accounts for the slowness when you originally flashed the new rom, then just gave out when you tried to flash again.
Me so nothing I can do
I have had your same issue: follow this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67184851&postcount=50
Sure that it's a MTCD rom and not MTCB?
When i installed malaysk rom for the first time, i have had the same issue. My hu is a kd one too.

Hope someone help you to find a solution as from my side I disappointed and my device is now decorate my room.
With the described method, you can't enter in recovery mode?!? Did you put sd card into gps slot? Sure?

@Malaysk - everything has been done to the letter, as always. I have had successes beforehand with the recovery card.
It just simply doesn't work in this case. The unit doesn't react to the card.

How do you know that it is a MTCB rom?
Same problem to me.
The HU is booting on Lollipop logo, and this is it.
I can flash MCU, but cannot flash ROM.
The device is going in Recovery Mode, but cannot flash ROM.
Also, it cannot be connected to PC, to flash it with RkBatchTool.
When i am trying this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67184851&postcount=50
the HU doesnt power on with SD card inserted.
My device was MTCD KGL. IS written on the pCB as well, and i took pictures before first flashing.
Any help is apreciated!

What last update?
I installed the June security patch two weeks ago.
No problem and no loss of data.
I updated to android 8.0 Oreo from android 7.1.1 back in may, again no issues.
Oreo is much better than nougat in my own opinion.
Posts like this don't really help anyone because no one else has reported such an issue, with many even using third party VPN methods to get the update to 8.0.
I'm sure this is something else rather that a sinister update issue.
Take a look at all the other threads gor Nokia 3 and you will see what I mean.
I have been afraid to install the June update on my Nokia 3 since the last time I updated my rooted Nokia 5 had to flash OST and go through the whole process of updating and installing my apps again. Once I know have time to do any recovery, I will installl the OTA and fix whatever issues may come my way
EDIT : Apparently it's because I had a sd card merged with the internal memory :s

This method of update does wipe internal memory too.
