[Q] no cwm - General Questions and Answers

using volume- and power, it boots into stock recovery. I used xboxexpert- root/cwm touch recovery script to root. No cwm? I have searched. sero7 4.2.1 I used quick boot and it also goes into stock recovery. Could this problem be caused by a software update?

X-part, says it is for Sony Xperia phone. I am working on a Hisense sero7 pro tablet. I am reluctant to use this app on my tablet. It would be nice if it would install cwm. Thanks for the reply.

Tried rooting again, hoping for the install of cwm from the process. no luck. any ideas?

t think you should Reroot again
Or úse code to get in CMW:good:

Yes, I installed the recent software update. So, that is the problem! I ran the rooting script again and no luck-no cwm. Tablet-Hisense sero7 pro.

Let me guess: no backup or anything?
if you have back up try restoring it from recovery...if you dont then reinstall the rom again from recovery.(wipe cashe data..system) should work just fine...at least is what i did in my nexus s..when i did this mistake..
Are your recovery and rom stock or custom? Cyanogenmod, CWM recovery etc...
If I were you, I would install CWM recovery for your phone and then install some custom rom, they are just awesome
Thx
Thank you all!!!
same problem
i have the same problem my phone just gets stuck with the google screen, but I already had cwm recovery installed but when I try to install cm9 or even cm7 its says that it cant open the package and the installation gets aborted. should Itry using the wug toolkit to flash the zips. and am i supposed to install sabra root toolkit on my phone...??? thanks.

Directly booting to recovery

I have a rooted S-7500, with CWM recovery 5.0.2.8 installed. I (by mistake) allowed the 'software update' option to install a system update(or something) today by mistake (I know, you should never install system updates after rooting. My bad.) Since then, the phone directly goes to the cwm recovery mode on powering on, and i am unable to do anything else
I am not very well versed with the finer details of rooting bootloader recovery n all...so pls some details with steps...if possible .
Any help whatsoever...please I will be really grateful

Thanks!!! It totally worked!
Just a clarification...now that i have got the stock rom back on my phone...am i right in saying that I have lost root access, my phone is totally back to the 'original' state, and i have lost CWM as well? Please correct me if I am wrong.
And assuming that I am correct(above), I would like to re-root my device(need to use proxydroid to surf internet over the damned proxy server!). So..can I follow the standard method, ie, can I do it the same way I had done before, or do i need to do something different now?
And once again...THANK YOU for your help! I had ended up hard bricking my previous phone, and was really scared when this happend to my aceP. You saved me!
Easy way to ROOT your SGAP
Yes by the time you flash stock rom you loss root even any custom recovery you flashed before...
but now if you want to root your SGAP again don't follow that guide again which you done before just follow this :
Download ODIN from Downloading link below (inside ODIN software folder)
Download any one recovery which you like TWRAP / CWM v5.5 (inside Custom recovery folder)
Download Root_SGAP.zip from Root folder & place that zip inside in your sd card
Click to collapse
Download Link : GALAXY Ace Plus - Basic stuff
FOR Custom_Recovery :
Open odin, be sure your system has already install drivers & if kies is there close it.
extract recovery zip
connect device to pc in download mod (vol down + power + home) & select that (recovery) .md5 file in pda section inside ODIN software
Click start & wait to reboot device
FOR ROOT :
Now boot device in CWM mod ( vol up + down + power + home)
choose zip from sd card & select Root_SGAP.zip
DONE.

Just 1 more qstn...is it necessary to apply a custom recovery before rooting? If no, is it recommended?? Because the last time i rooted, it made me put a custom recovery before rooting.

if you are going to stick on stock rom forever & only want to root device then stock recovery is ok for you...
but while dealing with custom roms, custom recoveries are smart choice.
it has lot of additional options than stock recovery.
so my opinion yes use custom recovery
Stuck in boot loop
Got stuck in boot loop after performing the steps. I was running this ROM.
Had to reinstall the ROM. I'm sure there's something I didn't understand or something I did wrong. I'd be thankful if anyone could point it out.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Root via cwm?

Guys is it possible to root after you've isntalled cwm? like for example once you're in CWM and you reboot your phone via cwm it asks if you want to root? If I select yes will it actually root? or can we flash SuperSu.zip to root?
Yes it will root, but you have to download the supersu app from google play store,or you can just flash supersu.zip, but this will be the same.

Still not working... :/
But there is one weird thing in bootloader. When I boot to bootloader it shows: SD Checking...No image! (and some letters .img). This shows about 7 times and then it shows selection screen (fastboot/recovery/factory reset/simlock)
Second weird thing is that I have radio 1.10.80.14M3 (I'm from WestEurope), but in RUU isn't the same radio :/
(These things were there before I installed new recovery/stock ROM)
Now, I tried to install the stock rom by immortal yash and it works! So thank you for wasting a time with me

You're lucky that you got update. That's odd error.
What's your location? None else has received update yet. Try factory resetting or flash stock ROM.
