Get S4 Zoom Camera App running on S4 - Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

Attached you can find the Camera.apk from the Galaxy S4 Zoom.
The Galaxy S4 Zoom has an advanced camera UI, with more modes and features like our S4's.
Would be great too see this working
EDIT: Camera.apk is NOT working yet and needs modification to run on S4. Use download to add your modifications..

Nope not working for me
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app

tried adding the file to system\app\ + changed permissions but nothing shows up after reboot, i also tried installing the apk, and last i tried to disable the original camera app so maybe it would show up but no luck. last try : renamed your file to samsungcamera2.apk and renamed the original to samsungcamera2.apk.bak but then i had no camera anymore
I hope someone finds out, would be great to have some more options

backed up the original camera with tb. uninstalled it, didn't install the new camera apk. Pushed it to system/app still didn't install after reboot. Wiped cache, again nope.. totally resists not to be installed

Seeing as they're both samsung and samsung apps, I think there might be a signature problem, as well as lib files that are necessary for the app to run. Highly Doubt it'll run as a standalone app.

Probably you're right. Since the lens is different, the zoom features are different, and the drivers will be different, it wont run as a standalone app in the regular s4 file system. Needs a detailed work and modification I suppose..

Ding Ding Ding. LOL ..And that's another thing as well, the Zoom has "lens" and actually zooms, the s4 is incapable of that, except if our XDA Gurus decompile and beat the app to do as they please lol.

I think that, if someone is able to fix this.. .it will be a major hit of the summer. From the pictures I can say I love it...

This would be a very good thing to get going on our phone. The zooming side of things is simple, remove the Zooming things from the APK and get a 8x Lens for the S4 from Ebay.
With that, atleast you won't lose any detail at all when ''Zooming'' in to what you want, and you have the Zoom features.

Thanks to all for testing! ..too bad its not working without editing.
Hopefully someone can get this working. Looks like the best camera app so far i've seen.

I acctualy think it would be easier to port the different modes into our s4 app because we have the dual cam and s4 zoom doesn't

You see how the background is only as far as the keys are and you get the white (or whatever color the bg is of the app your on) sidebar and bottom stripe?
You can't see that on the original LatinIME.apk.
See, this is the original.
Its that dark gray background on the LatinIME.apk that I want fixed on the Voice Keyboard.
Come on, is no one gonna help me? I was told it was easy! I have no idea how to fix it, but I was hoping someone would!
I'm playing around with the APK a bit, its called "VoiceSearchWithKeyboard.apk", formery "VoiceSearch.apk" and "LatinIME.apk". I was hoping to find a transparent "Such_and_such_Image.png" in the new one, and the same image, only not transparent, in the old one. So far, I'm not seeing it. Perhaps its something deeper, something in the XMLs?
I can see you don't like the way it is now, but I think most people do, and I believe its working as intended.
Perhaps someone more experienced can help shed some light?
***Attached are the files in question***
In this post Konipub has a flashable zip for his rom with voice keyboard that doesn't have transparent background(atleast not in HIS pictures)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6182240&postcount=2
So I removed all the key layout files from my phone because some of them had different names and I know the zip wouldn't over ride them; and I flashed it. It looks just like the one from darches google ****s. I don't know if konipubs picture is inaccurate, or perhaps the background file is actually a file from the framework-res? I almost feel like it must be. Will do some heavy digging tonight!
: Disregard:
Its probably in an .xml within the layout folder. That keyboard bugs me when its like that as well...I'd dig through the .xml's, but ive been too tired to even focus on it...Try the Droid X keyboard, its nicer.

I take it back, I think the problem is because the. .apk is for high resolution phones. I'm willing to bet there s an hdpi folder instead of mdpi. Yup, I was right this is for high Res phones. Its an easy fix.

AirDroid Theming

So I've been using AirDroid a lot lately and have been noticing that the UI is generally very... bright. So I decided to tone it down a little and customize it to fit a more ICS theme. Not to mention have the long-awaited Picture of our Galaxy Note up top!
If you don't know what it is, check it out here.
I just started the project about an hour ago and plan on re-theming pretty much everthing in there. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
The .apk is attached at the bottom of the post if you want it (You're going to have to uninstall your current version before installing due to different signs), if you download it please leave a thanks and offer some suggestions and ideas!
(.apk Updated June 6th with the most recent version)
New fixes by the Airdroid staff and visual updates by me! Have at it.

Yeah I fixed the sending animation and just touched it up to look pretty much how it does right now. There are still a few things missing (like the large image of the Note under the details, as I just haven't gotten around to doing that yet). Didn't look like too many people had any interest in it so I just didn't keep it updated here. If you want a link I'll upload it to Dropbox and paste a link in here for you though
Has been working great for me.

It is attached to the first post now, I decompiled the .apk and located all the files I needed, then Photoshopped and CSS'ed my way through it until it looked the way I wanted. Then just Recompiled and signed it for distribution!
Looks good. I may try my hand at it as well, give it a Holo look. If I get it how I like it then I'll post the apk as well.
Edit: I see you already gave it a semi-Holo look. I did go in and change a few of the icons to the Google icons and I changed the background to the ICS background. I didn't look at one of the icons close enough though and didn't realize it wasn't transparent, so I'll have to fix that. Otherwise, I'm happy now.
The apk has been updated to include the new version released by the AirDroid team a few days ago, check it out! It's much less buggy than the original.
thanx

Very nice! Funny, I did almost the same thing. Only thing I changed was the image of the phone to be the SGN. (and the note in my picture is running AOSP ICS) You seemingly went above and beyond though with the theme. Good job

I'm wondering if it may be possible to take the apk file utilized by the phone dialer from a pure aosp ROM and use a root explorer to copy that apk into the system app folder and reboot the device to get this dialer on the note. Any experienced dev care to chime in on the possibility of this method working?

that is a totally different app.
Its meant to increase the quality of contact image ( ie to fix something google has screwed up big time and no signs of improving. )
What the OP wants is something like ASOP dialer which shows full screen contact in outgoing and incoming calls.
for that good dialer who manage to see picture with hi res, and no lag you can install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797698

I have just flashed this MOD and I must say I'm amazed
The mod was uploaded on XDA by user stgeo but the real wizard behind it is Italian user Juros77 on Androidiani forum.
I was a bit scared to flash this on AlianceROM 2.1 because I thought that it will not fit in such heavy modified theme as the one on Robbies ROM but it works great and it looks great.
Only downside I see right now is the absence of recording button but I believe developer will fix that in the future also.
The original thread of the MOD is here:

and the screen-shot of a phone in action:

Agreed, works well! Thanks
Not sure why, but I just noticed that the sort-by-month is working, but seems to be a little strange. It's grouping a bunch of pics I took within the past few days at the bottom of the roll as December 1969.
I assume this is because they weren't time stamped correctly in the EXIF by the camera, and that date is the earliest possible by default. It would stand to reason that the file name order *should* also be the chronological order in which the pictures were taken - but since it groups by month, it uses the EXIF date instead of the file name to order the pics.
The point is this: make sure the camera is correctly tagging your pictures or the order of your pictures in the gallery will be all messed up.

[Q] About the "REAL" hidden camera features

does anybody know how to get the "ladybug" icon in the lower right corner for the motorola camera app on stock rom???

you can see the ladybug icon in the lower right corner

It's probably a feature of the camera app on AOSP based ROMs. You should probably consider extracting the camera.apk file from system/app from the zip file of one the ROMs you mentioned and install it on stock. That should work theoretically.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!
Already tried to extract the apk file and install it. But it force closes. These Features are already in the original Motorola Camera app from the playstore (and doesn't mean that it is just for aosp Roms). CM11 doesn't have the Motorola Camera built in, but you still get the ladybug Icon to get more settings if you install the app. They are just not visible. I also decompiled and edited the bools.xml to activate some of the Features like dual Video encode etc. But it is really annoying to decompile the apk every time when it gets a playstore update.

Would like to know how can one access these options on stock rom.
Thanks!
Has anyone heard anything about this, I actually stumbled across this trying to find the apk for the camera after installing cyanogenmod and missing the moto camera, I noticed the ladybug, unfortunately camera crashes after taking picture so had to switch back to stock with xposed. I liked the many options in the camera that were available though.
Bueler......anyone
sorry to bump up this thread, but it is something most people wanted to have. the wavelet noise option might be the key why the photos are so bad. so please, anyone respond. maybe someone can port the Paranoid Android Camera to work with stock roms?
