does anybody know how to get the "ladybug" icon in the lower right corner for the motorola camera app on stock rom???
i already read that some users got this icon by installing the motorola camera app to another rom (CM11, Paranoid Android etc.)
for those who don't know what i mean, here are some pictures that i found:
you can see the ladybug icon in the lower right corner

after pressing on this icon you get a bunch of new features and settings like this
so, does anyone know how we can make these settings accessable for stock users?

It's probably a feature of the camera app on AOSP based ROMs. You should probably consider extracting the camera.apk file from system/app from the zip file of one the ROMs you mentioned and install it on stock. That should work theoretically.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!
Already tried to extract the apk file and install it. But it force closes. These Features are already in the original Motorola Camera app from the playstore (and doesn't mean that it is just for aosp Roms). CM11 doesn't have the Motorola Camera built in, but you still get the ladybug Icon to get more settings if you install the app. They are just not visible. I also decompiled and edited the bools.xml to activate some of the Features like dual Video encode etc. But it is really annoying to decompile the apk every time when it gets a playstore update.

anyone who knows how to make these settings available on stock motorola rom???
Would like to know how can one access these options on stock rom.
Thanks!
Has anyone heard anything about this, I actually stumbled across this trying to find the apk for the camera after installing cyanogenmod and missing the moto camera, I noticed the ladybug, unfortunately camera crashes after taking picture so had to switch back to stock with xposed. I liked the many options in the camera that were available though.
Bueler......anyone
sorry to bump up this thread, but it is something most people wanted to have. the wavelet noise option might be the key why the photos are so bad. so please, anyone respond. maybe someone can port the Paranoid Android Camera to work with stock roms?

A test market somehow made its way onto the phone of a writer over Tech From 10 and embedded not-so-deeply in it was the new 3.0 Music player that mimics the version seen on Honeycomb, only it works flawlessly on your smaller smartphone. As you can from the shot above, you now get the “Recent” section with album previews and a scrolling wheel feel, streaming music service that I can’t figure out how to unlock, and a much more finished experience than the previous leak.
Here are a few additional downloads that originated from Tech From 10′s test Android Market. The new camera, gallery and desk clock apps are below for you to download, but for whatever reason, they may not work on most or any phones. In fact, the only app that would not force close for me, was some sort of test cube wallpaper that is also available below. Feel free to install them all though and report back if you have any success on any of your devices. The new music player which definitely works, is back at this post.
*Note – Again, these may not work at all. But if they do, please let us know what phone you are using.

Anybody having FC issues with the new Gallery on the Nexus One also the new Clock and Camera aren't installing. I'm on Gingerbread 2.3.3
Yeah, I just get Force close with the gallery and the music, camera and desk clock won't install at all
Stock with 2.3.3
no problems with music but gallery does fc
Music is failing for me but I had previously installed the honeycomb player.
Install wouldn't work until I removed the previous apk, data and dalvik cache
woot: was able to fix the app by moving it to the system/app dir, droidlife made it sound like it works from data/app
how do you get to the cover flow style view? like in the first picture or was that just stolen from some tablet screen shots?
is there a way to install the new camera, clock or music player without writing over the stock system apps?
well i guess camera/clock aren't even working...
im not rooted.
I installed this on my Hero and they all installed except clock and gallery force closes.

Hi, I got a KF when it came out last year. I wanted to give it to my niece this year for her birthday. I'd like to put something other than the KF OS on it. Maybe CM9? That seems to be popular around here. Also I'd like to customize the screens so that a 4 year old can get to what they need and not get lost in all the extras.
Q1: Can anyone recommend an OS for it? CM7, CM9 or other. I don't need it to have all the gadgets or widgets. Just wifi, video, sound and the google market. Maybe I can strip down something already made?
Q2: I guess I would have to make some sort of custom theme for it. Does anyone know of one for kids? I want to get rid of the carousel and do maybe 3-5 BIG icons on the main screen. No extra screens (swipe to next screen). And a password protected settings icon.
I've done lots of windows and Mac programming before, but no android yet. I've got the SDK and have gone through several beginner tutorials ("Hello World", ect.)
Thanks.
Im using Cm7 currently, i suggest you to use the same! Very cool, smooth and fast.
Cm7 is quite stable, and its been fun customizing it to my liking.

Ok cool. I'll start on CM7 then. Do I need to modify the source code to customize it or can I just manipulate the configuration files and graphics?
MIUI
I'm using MIUI.us, It's still quite buggy, but it promises lot!
If it's for kids, maybe the easier way should be:
Keep stock rom
Root KF. do not register in order to keep out amazon's further upgrades
Install the apps you like
Set another launcher as default and customize it as you like. Hide/unistall what you think the kids don't need
No need to flash roms, IMO
Put the MoDaCo Rom on it. It comes preloaded with the Android Market and uses the regular Kindle Fire OS. I've used it and I think it would be perfect for your niece!
Here's a preview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F2QtQeOdOZg
He says in the video that the Rom is v6.2.1 (Gr2), but it is actually been updated to v6.2.2 (Gr6).
Here's the Rom: http://android.modaco.com/topic/350682-24-jan-gr6-622-modaco-custom-rom-for-the-kindle-fire/
CM7 is the only one that can do video for now. I recommend you use GO Launcher or the stock one. Don't go too overboard trying to make your own. Actually did one a few years ago for my brother to browse the internet.
Desktop VisualizeR lets you do "stickers" and put them where you please and then point them to an app. Kinda like this:

"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
That's a really nice screenshot you have. Is that with the stock KF OS? or did you put something else on? I've downloaded the app, but the icons I get are always small, even when I give it a big image. Do I have to buy their image crop app or another one of theirs to get mine to look as good as yours?
(I am on the unofficial CM9 release)
Is this possible? I know the delay was set by Google to keep the screen from rotating when you don't want it to, but it doesn't bother me if it rotates on accident- and if it did bother me I'd just turn off auto-rotate. I'm not looking to speed up the animation, I want to remove or shorten the screen rotation delay. All I can find on Google is people misunderstanding this request, people saying "GOOGLE MADE IT AS A FEATURE I DON'T SEE THE PROBLEM" and people saying "AOKP ROM lets you change it" Okay well, how did the creator of the AOKP ROM do that? What file needs to be changed to modify screen rotation delay?
Thanks.
P.S: I'm not an idiot when it comes to modifying Android, I'm hardly versed in it, but I'm confident with what I do. I'm not some random idiot.
you need to change framework parameters. you can either change the SETTLE_TIME_MS= in the framework (see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=24869) and compile the rom from source,
or try to decompile framework and change with the method in this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1413304 which may work for ics.
both are somewhat time consuming to do though... so people would rather recommend you flash an aokp rom.
Well I'm not too keen on compiling a whole rom lol so I tried the framework.jar edit. I followed the directions exactly and when I rebooted I got the "Android Optimizing" like it does after an OTA and... No change.
Is the feature a default AOKP thing? Cause if it is I may have to check out the Uniporn rom.
In the unicorn Rom control setting at the bottom of general ui is rotation delay. I don't recall if cm9 has same option

Thanks for the help guys, looks like I'll be flashing UNiPoRN. Hopefully I'll be able to MMS with that rom as well.
Put these as your settings it'll work great! (Password is: CINGULAR1)

Hi All,
I am facing a problem when I am trying to change the default gallery app to Google Go or AI Gallery.
The only problem I am facing is that when take a photo and click on the photo to see it in the gallery. It directly takes me to the default gallery which shows me an annoying message:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I just do not want to tap on agree. But, it keeps coming back and I think it will be coming back until I agree to it. So, I do not want the default gallery anymore.
I have tried using "Default App Manager" and it successfully changed it to AI Gallery. But, when I open photos from the camera, it is again opening the default app.
Still no reply on this.. Anyway, I have changed few settings that I didn't want. I was able to do most of the things to make this phone perfect. But, this is the one thing that I couldn't find a workaround for..
Same here. Changing default gallery app makes no difference, it always opens Xiaomi gallery. One for the bug list I think. But for me, not a problem but thought I would test just in case you thought you were going mad.

Well, I was about to change the camera app itself to GCam. But, some people are saying it is better than stock and others are in saying the opposite. Plus, I do not think installing GCam is straight forward and if it is not AT LEAST as good as the stock camera app I'd not even consider it. The camera on this device is insane!
Thanks for replying. At least someone is sharing the same experience. I'm still looking for a workaround. If you find something. Don't forget to update me.
Will do. But if you want to try the gcam, look at playstore for GCamloader app, there is a Xiaomi link in the list, see screenshot.
[Same thread in S8 Q&A forum]
I asked this in the specific Hades android 10 ROM thread, but mabe this solution works in any One UI ROM.
AFAIK the steps to find a solution would be:
1. Figure out the processes involved in making the keyboard cover work.
2. Extracting them from a (or almost) stock ROM.
3. Flashing on top of the ROM in TWRP
4. If it doesn't boot up or is unstable, try editing the ROM myself replacing the new apps with the old ones.
5. Flash again
If it works, then perfect
If not, find a workaround with some external apps.
7.Make the keyboard stay always on screen.
8. Set up a keyboard that exactly matches the case. Maybe the native samsung keyboard from Pie itself works with this.
9. Lock the screen rotation.
10. Have a quick toggle to add and remove the keyboard cover settings and link it to the bixby button for convenience.
I have absolutely no idea about ROM development, so any help would be most helpful. thanks!

Hello @corsicanu and congrats on the great ROM.
I'm asking you and anyone who has some experience in android ROM developement if it could be possible with a bit of tinkering to add support for the keyboard cover.
I know there's some remnants of code of it in your ROM cos in first boot, in the setup wizard it was attatched on the back side and a message popped up telling me I could not use it while setting the phone up (as it said on first boot on Pie).
AFAIK, there would be several processes involved in supporting this keyboard cover, from the Samsung keyboard app itself to some other system processes. Probably some background log registers which processes start runnig in a stock Samsung ROM and from then i'd have to export them to Android 10.
I don't know how hard is to grab them from a pie ROM, replace the Android 10 parts and hope it all work together while fashing in TWRP, or just have both apps in the same ROM and disable the newer ones and start tinkering.
Is there some signature or something required while flashing it?
If you could guide me to some material to start figuring this out, It'd be most helpful. Thanks!

Hi!
How's it going trying out to make the case work?
I recently found this case on Amazon for $10 and had to get it although I don't own a S8+ myself. Next task will be to buy a not too expensive phone and start to experiment. I have no knowledge either of ROM development but will try out different ideas on how to make the case work. Would be nice to have it still working on an recently updated phone.
