which phone do you have?
alot of alarm clocks or even calander like one in htc default one gives you an option to set recurring reminders
like you set it for 7 pm and recurring everyday monday-saturday
hence you only need to set it for just one time period like 7 pm 5 am etc and it will take care for the rest of the month by itself

nexus 4, my calendar doesnt have anything like that

try this

i found an app called reMind which does what i want. its bareboned and id like some more control over the alert, but overall its what im looking for

You can check out this app. I think it will fulfill your need.

What's the easiest way to fix the time of received text messages?

Does anyone know what the easiest way to fix the time for received text messages on a Touch HD because mine displays them as 5 hours earlier. Please help! very much appreciated thanks!!!!
extremely strange. to my knowledge SMS timestamps are written according to the device's clock...
could be it that somehow the main clock is set to a different time zone to the one your actually in? ie, im in the uk, and ive got my clock set +5 hrs but set at the right time? does that make any sence? mm gotta try that one
All MY messages show the right time, but the person I'm talking to, their messages show a time 5 hours prior

Yip thats wot i just found out. I text my other phone and it the message showed it sent plus 1 hour (ie i sent it at 4pm and it shoed 5pm). That must mean that the time of their server must be incorrect, so if im right, theres nothing you can do apart from telling them
Aww man that sucks
i know!! its very confusing when receiving a text too, especially in threaded text mode
I have a friend at my telecoms provider, so ill ask him

Looking for a program

Hey guys,
I'm looking for an app or widget, which is able to ring or vibrate every 50 minutes. I found apps with single countdown or with other predefined intervals. Any ideas?
BTW: great and awesome killer-xda-app

I could maybe make one, what do u need it for?

You could use one of the poker timers in the market and set the blind timers.
@GlobaL_TroTTer
thx for your offer.
this is such a great forum with such f*ckin' friendly users...i'm really impressed...
this app/tool should vibrate every 50minutes, because i'm playing an online game, where i get money every 50minutes, and if somebody attacking me, the money is gone... ( )
so, the idea of evilkorn isn't bad.
but i've searched an tried maybe 6 to 8 apps,
but none of these was able to do this.
maybe a poker timer will do it's job...
i'll report later...
thanks guys and sorry für bad bad englisch
Worst case scenario, set alarms 50 minutes apart, haha. You just have to make sure you start playing right as the first alarm goes off so it's exactly 50 minutes apart. Not sure if that'll work for you, though. Just a thought!
so, i'm back and i didn't found an prog which is able to do this.
i found some poker-apps, but there i could do a countdown for 30 rounds or so. but i need an endless countdown... it should start manually one time, maybe after a restart, and then until the next restart. and maybe one short ring oder vibrate to show, that 50mins are gone...
@GlobaL_TroTTer
could u do this for me?
thanks for the answers
PS: the last post i can't follow :/
Yeah ill try. Tell me exactly how u want it
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
you are the best, man...
how cool are ur skills?!
basics:
There should be a window where u can place a length of time...
in my case exactly 50 minutes...
and a button, which starts the countdown.
if the counter reached zero, it should restart counting (backwards) immediately, without any user-interaction. an endless loop...
it would be nice, when the user can choose, wether he wants a ringing signal or just vibrating. and it would be nicer, when the user can choose the kind of ringing tone... but a simple *pling* would be enough...
if u area bit deeper in the matter, i could create a widget, which tell the user the rest of the time until "the end" (of the 50 minutes).
but it would be enough, if there is the essential counter and i short vibrating...
BIG BIG THANKS, u are the best...
Onetouch timer should be able to do this. It will set custom alarm repeats, any amount of hh mm ss. It's also awesome for general countdown and stopwatch use.
Sent from my HTC Dream using XDA App
i think u're wrong.
i couldn't find any option to repeat the timer... only to repeat the alarm...
search for workout timers, intervall timers
making it now
im keeping it simple, may improove it later
Ok its done
Download it from my beta website http://hedbergm.kicks-ass.net/Site/download.html
damned, seems that ur site is currently down?
Do you still want it, pm me!

Here is he app!!!!
heres the app
Seems to be a cool app. Will test tomorrow. I like the simplicity and the sound. Not penetrating like other ones. Good choice. Is it possible to add personal times? Last time I was ill and had to take some pills every hour. Just another part of daily use for your cool app. But needed 60 minutes, not 50.
After testing tomorrow I will give you another feedback.
But I want to say big thanks for your nice work...

custom times
ill definitely try out custom times within the app. thanks for the feedback
hey,
after testing i can say that the app only rings with "test sound" or so, but not within the 50 minutes. i dont know wether it is cause of an "automated task killer" or whatever.
i have whitelisted your app, but i didn'T hear any sound...
do u have an idea? what kind of sound is your tone?
"alarm sound" or "multimedia sound"?
both of them was loud on my phone, but it only was an idea of finding the error-source...
Ive redone the whole app + a stopwatch. Its allmost done ill upload some screen shots.

Tasker

Hello all,
please excuse me if I am asking something that has been asked before: I could not find it.....
I want to set an alarm that rings 2 hours prior to the start of any event created in a specific calender.
I have very different working hours. I need to get up two hours before I have to work but I never get up after 9:00 am.
So when I am working at 8:00 am, I need the alarm to sound at 6:00 am.
If I am working at 11:30 am I need the alarm to ring at 9:00 am.
How can I do this using tasker?
I am very diligent in putting my workhours in my Google 'WORK' calender.
So I am thinking along the lines of:
context: new calender entry in calender WORK
task:
IF starttime < 11:00
THEN set alarm (starttime- 2 hours)
ELSE set alarm at 9:00
And that is where I get completely confused!!!
Is this possible using Tasker? If not, how would this be possible?
Would it be an idea to start a script using the 'execute' plugin in Tasker?
Please help, I am lost!
And another question:
is it possible to exclude certain profiles from the list %PACTIVE?
I have a minimalist widget set up that displays %ACTPROF (Active Profiles)
%ACTPROF is my won variable that is (for now) filled with %PACTIVE
There are some profiles that are running continuously and I do not want to see these. So can I set %ACTPROF= %PACTIVE - [certain profiles] ?
Thanks for thinking and bearing with me and I wish you a happy 2012!
Greetings,
Henro

And another question, how can I save the value of a user-variable so that it survives a reboot or even factory reset? I was thinking along the lines of saving the value in a file but I am not sure how to do this....
TIA Henro

Need an App

I am looking for the following apps..
First, a time sheet app that can be configured the way the company wants timesheets done
And Second, a basic app that I can copy service calls from email and text to so I can keep up with the work orders and maybe even dispatch thru email or text thru them. I am actually wanting a lot on this one so... We will let it pass for the moment.
As far as the Time Sheet app, I have looked on the Play Store and everything is set up for working 40 then ot, or is just time input. I need something I can input a WorkOrder, PO number, Customer, Time in, Time out, and a place for a brief note. I also want it to be able to calculate hours worked, and split any hours entered as 7am to 5 pm monday through friday as Reg time hours, and 5pm to 7am as well as all day sat and sun as overtime. OR just have an option to choose whether time entered is rt or ot.
At the end of the week, I;d like a menu option to "send time sheet" to a specified email address
In setup, I would like to be able to enter a Technicians name, what day our weekending is, and the email address to sent the sheet to.
The way this app would be set up, it would be mostly propriatary, So I would love to have the logo for the time sheet as our company logo and I am willing to compensate for development..
Any takers?
There is an app on the play store called Repair Order Manager that might have some of what you are looking for. Don't know if you've seen it yet. Its for auto mechanics but I'm sure you can manage most types of repair orders with it. It seems to have some of the things your looking for, maybe it could get you by until you can get someone to build the app you need. Anyway just a suggestion and if you've already tried it sorry for the post.

Would you be interested in this in excel? You could always use an office app to run it.

Here is another app that might be useful for you and he's just started launching it. He may also be the person to ask to build the app you want as well.

I'll check this out.
I have been using excel myself, but what I would like to do is get something that can be easily used company wide. Basically, when I write out my invoice.. I pick up my phone and have an app to enter my time in and just hit send on monday morning and the office has my time sheet. Most of the stuff I have found is way to complex or is just for entering time only.

No alarm without Bluetooth???

Hi guys
sorry but I cannot find an alarm on that watch without having my phone linked to the Gear 2??? This is surprizing for a watch...
Is there a point that I missed here? Sleep genius alarm does not work so I was expecting to see a default alarm app already installed on the watch.
Thanksssssssssssssss
I suspect there might be one if you could download it from the Samsung App store (But other devices can't use that) so the best we got is the Timer app
