Tasker - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

Hello all,
please excuse me if I am asking something that has been asked before: I could not find it.....
I want to set an alarm that rings 2 hours prior to the start of any event created in a specific calender.
I have very different working hours. I need to get up two hours before I have to work but I never get up after 9:00 am.
So when I am working at 8:00 am, I need the alarm to sound at 6:00 am.
If I am working at 11:30 am I need the alarm to ring at 9:00 am.
How can I do this using tasker?
I am very diligent in putting my workhours in my Google 'WORK' calender.
So I am thinking along the lines of:
context: new calender entry in calender WORK
task:
IF starttime < 11:00
THEN set alarm (starttime- 2 hours)
ELSE set alarm at 9:00
And that is where I get completely confused!!!
Is this possible using Tasker? If not, how would this be possible?
Would it be an idea to start a script using the 'execute' plugin in Tasker?
Please help, I am lost!
And another question:
is it possible to exclude certain profiles from the list %PACTIVE?
I have a minimalist widget set up that displays %ACTPROF (Active Profiles)
%ACTPROF is my won variable that is (for now) filled with %PACTIVE
There are some profiles that are running continuously and I do not want to see these. So can I set %ACTPROF= %PACTIVE - [certain profiles] ?
Thanks for thinking and bearing with me and I wish you a happy 2012!
Greetings,
Henro

And another question, how can I save the value of a user-variable so that it survives a reboot or even factory reset? I was thinking along the lines of saving the value in a file but I am not sure how to do this....
TIA Henro

Looking for a program

Hey guys,
I'm looking for an app or widget, which is able to ring or vibrate every 50 minutes. I found apps with single countdown or with other predefined intervals. Any ideas?
BTW: great and awesome killer-xda-app

I could maybe make one, what do u need it for?
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
You could use one of the poker timers in the market and set the blind timers.
@GlobaL_TroTTer
thx for your offer.
this is such a great forum with such f*ckin' friendly users...i'm really impressed...
this app/tool should vibrate every 50minutes, because i'm playing an online game, where i get money every 50minutes, and if somebody attacking me, the money is gone... ( )
so, the idea of evilkorn isn't bad.
but i've searched an tried maybe 6 to 8 apps,
but none of these was able to do this.
maybe a poker timer will do it's job...
i'll report later...
thanks guys and sorry für bad bad englisch
Worst case scenario, set alarms 50 minutes apart, haha. You just have to make sure you start playing right as the first alarm goes off so it's exactly 50 minutes apart. Not sure if that'll work for you, though. Just a thought!
so, i'm back and i didn't found an prog which is able to do this.
i found some poker-apps, but there i could do a countdown for 30 rounds or so. but i need an endless countdown... it should start manually one time, maybe after a restart, and then until the next restart. and maybe one short ring oder vibrate to show, that 50mins are gone...
@GlobaL_TroTTer
could u do this for me?
thanks for the answers
PS: the last post i can't follow :/
Yeah ill try. Tell me exactly how u want it
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
you are the best, man...
how cool are ur skills?!
basics:
There should be a window where u can place a length of time...
in my case exactly 50 minutes...
and a button, which starts the countdown.
if the counter reached zero, it should restart counting (backwards) immediately, without any user-interaction. an endless loop...
it would be nice, when the user can choose, wether he wants a ringing signal or just vibrating. and it would be nicer, when the user can choose the kind of ringing tone... but a simple *pling* would be enough...
if u area bit deeper in the matter, i could create a widget, which tell the user the rest of the time until "the end" (of the 50 minutes).
but it would be enough, if there is the essential counter and i short vibrating...
BIG BIG THANKS, u are the best...
Onetouch timer should be able to do this. It will set custom alarm repeats, any amount of hh mm ss. It's also awesome for general countdown and stopwatch use.

i think u're wrong.
i couldn't find any option to repeat the timer... only to repeat the alarm...
search for workout timers, intervall timers
making it now
im keeping it simple, may improove it later
Ok its done
Download it from my beta website http://hedbergm.kicks-ass.net/Site/download.html
damned, seems that ur site is currently down?
Do you still want it, pm me!

Here is he app!!!!
heres the app
Seems to be a cool app. Will test tomorrow. I like the simplicity and the sound. Not penetrating like other ones. Good choice. Is it possible to add personal times? Last time I was ill and had to take some pills every hour. Just another part of daily use for your cool app. But needed 60 minutes, not 50.
After testing tomorrow I will give you another feedback.
But I want to say big thanks for your nice work...

custom times
ill definitely try out custom times within the app. thanks for the feedback
hey,
after testing i can say that the app only rings with "test sound" or so, but not within the 50 minutes. i dont know wether it is cause of an "automated task killer" or whatever.
i have whitelisted your app, but i didn'T hear any sound...
do u have an idea? what kind of sound is your tone?
"alarm sound" or "multimedia sound"?
both of them was loud on my phone, but it only was an idea of finding the error-source...
Ive redone the whole app + a stopwatch. Its allmost done ill upload some screen shots.

[APP][1.6+] Sms Replier - Need Feedback

Hey, I recently released an app to Google Play and was wondering if you guys could help me out to test it and to give me feedback!
The app is called Sms Replier and it's a tool that can be used to send texts to people who call you while you're unable to get to your phone to answer(while you're in an exam, or playing a game of soccer, etc.). I know this idea has been done before, but I want to know whether you think it's worth it for me to keep working on it so as to add features which have not been done in any other app. Please let me know how well it performs/what things I should change about it, and please rate it on Google Play!
I am excited to get some real criticism from android users so that I can continue to make this app what I originally set out for it to be!
The app is completely free! Thank you in advance.
I like it! Simple, but I would love a widget.
If you are lazy: here's a link to the download:

thanks for the app..

You're very welcome!
Hey. Can the app send sms at a specific time? For example set it to send an sms to a contact at 2pm and when the clock becomes 2pm it sends the sms. Cz I'm looking for such a feature.
Also it would be great if the above could work on whatsapp too. Thanks

I could include that feature with relative ease, but it currently doesn't do that since I was aiming at making an app that helps you when you don't have access to your phone

Try SMS scheduler from the play store
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
it works ace!
what would be good is to have either a widget to toggle on / off, permanent notification to enable access to the menu, or an idle / activity monitor like if phone left idle for x minutes then enable it; as soon as there's human activity then de-activate it (could be linked to the auto screen dim/off).
A very nice app, very useful for businesses. Out Of Office Reply
A great start! I would also like to add some suggestions (some may be repeats).
1. Widgets that you can add to turn on and off selected notifications.
2. Auto respond based on a pre-determined schedule.
3. Auto start on startup option (for scheduled events).
4. # appears over icon to notify user how many messages were replied to while away (like mail or missed call icon).
Keep up the great work!

Great app very helpful while driving especially. Would be nice if you could add some features to even reply to text messages automatically. Something similar to auto reply feature in GoSMS.
great work.

as bigdog said those are very essential to complete this app.
first time i installed the app.. i was really surprised to see its simplicity really awesome
i would like to add some suggestions and doubts from mine sides too even though they may be repeated
some brainstorming got me to bring up these elements
1. sometimes there can just be miss calls.. you can add up timer like (send sms before ringer, on one ring, on two rings, or like if didnt pick the call at all will send an sms)
2. a status bar indicating that the sms replier with number of sms sent. [a widget would also be helpful]
3. then you can add some templates or profiles like driving, in class or let users create their profiles or templates.
4. there is one more thing that u can get access of contacts and just disconnect the unknown numbers[ofcourse getting the notification with number at our end] and donot sent them a reply in order to maintain the privacy and not let the unknown numbers know what you are upto.
5. and if i may add a option.. a counter to be set to ring if a same person is trying to call for more than two three times or in case of emergency
i will add more when it comes ...
Would be great if it could work on whatsapp!
The difference is that you don't need to click the template to send it when you're receiving the call. It sends automatically when a missed call is recorded. Sorry to assume, but it doesn't seem like you actually tried using the app at all.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
@saredev, does your app have feature that can exclude certain numbers from auto responding but they are in the contacts list. For example, notifications banks or credit card companies. These companies don't need to receive auto-response. I think you might have to check the number when it arrives whether it's a phone number or shortcode before auto-response. Or include a list of numbers from auto-response.

which phone do you have?
alot of alarm clocks or even calander like one in htc default one gives you an option to set recurring reminders
like you set it for 7 pm and recurring everyday monday-saturday
hence you only need to set it for just one time period like 7 pm 5 am etc and it will take care for the rest of the month by itself
nexus 4, my calendar doesnt have anything like that

i found an app called reMind which does what i want. its bareboned and id like some more control over the alert, but overall its what im looking for
You can check out this app. I think it will fulfill your need.

Blacklist some phonenumbers on weekdays between 7 am - 4 pm? [SOLVED]

Hi
I need and want to block a few numbers on weeksdays between 7am and 4pm due to some reasons
Does anyone know if there is a good app I can use for this or any script for Tasker to make this work?

Show ONLY LED light, NO notification

Hello guys!
It would be so nice if you can help me out here...
What I want:
I would like a specific app to show ONLY LED light when receiving notifications. I don't want the app(notifications) to appear at lockscreen, in status bar or whatever.
Is there any solution to turn only LED notifications on for one app?
I think so. Try to intercept the notification using AutoNotification or Notification Listener, then create your own generic Led Notify notification.

Try intercepting the notifications with the 'Tasker' application with the 'autonotification' plugin
I thought this was in the Tasker section.
Anyway, @outis151 has in mind what I had.
You would need two things, the app "Tasker" and the plugin "AutoNotification". If you are not familiar, the Tasker app has a steep learning curve but adds a lot of functionality to the phone. AutoNotification is a plugin for Tasker that allows you to handle notifications.
What you would do:
Create a profile that triggers when you receive a notification from your specified application.
Then you assign a task to that that contains the following actions:
1. Dismiss/cancel notification and also make it prevent sounding
2. You start an action called Notify Led to flash your led.
3. Set a variable to true when message received
Then you need one more profile, that when the above variable is true and when the specified app is started, then you trigger notify cancel (to cancel the led, assuming that when you open that app you see the notification).
Hope this explains it a bit more. Sorry, I assumed you had some knowledge before.
Both Tasker and AutoNotification have their evaluation period, so you could try it out. I'd be happy to help you build it up and send you some files, but you'd need to see some tutorials to understand what the apps are and what they do.
If you need any more info, feel free to ask.
