Thanks for your help. The att link you provided tells me that the device Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE device AT&T offers is SGH-I497 whereas the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE device that I am getting is gt-n8020
Per gsmarena samsung_galaxy_note_lte_10_1_n8020-5151 seems to support LTE but the bands seem different from samsung_galaxy_tab_2_10_1_cdma-5592.php
AT&T LTE seems to support Band 17 - 700MHz and Band 4 - 1700 MHz whereas the device GT-N8020 seem to support 4G (LTE 1800/ 2600MHz) and 3.5G (HSPA+ 42.2Mbps)
I suspect GT-N8020 will get only HSPA+ which is up to 4x faster than AT&T's 3G not LTE which is 10x faster than 3G.

I am wondering the same thing....
AT&T Uses: 1700Mhz Band4 and 700Mhz Band17. Samsung showing 4G/LTE 1800, 4G/LTE 2600. So my guess would be no. Still thinking this would be a better option than the AT&T version of the tab 2.
You find anything else out?

Curious to see if it'll work for a tmobile sim....

[Q] Enable 850 Mhz band with any modem version Galaxy S 4g

I have the tmobile samsung galaxy 4g. Unfortunately it doesn´t come with the 850 Mhz band enabled for 3g data. I read in galaxy s post that it is possible to flash the modem to another one who has this band included. Is it possible in the galaxy s 4g?
Thanks.

850MHz UMTS on Vibrant 4G
I have both the Vibrant 4G and the older Vibrant from T-Mobile.
Using the instructions found here: androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s/258859-how-enable-850mhz-3g-network-frequency-your-samsung-i9000-galaxy-s.html[/url]
I see that I can enable 850MHz on the older Vibrant but I don't see the 850MHz option on the Vibrant 4G. I have not yet tested the Vibrant to see if I get better AT&T data coverage (ie: 850MHz when 1900MHz is not available.)

I believe this is true for the Galaxy S i9000 which has support for 3G network over the 850mz band. Our phone, the Galaxy S 4g does not.
It is possible to flash a modem for 3G @ 850mz band for i9000, but not for the sgs4g.
The main reason being that the i9000 is an international phone so it has to support a lot of carriers and different bands/networks around the globe. But the SGS4G was made for T-Mobile's network, so the bands that it supports are limited to that carrier.

T-mobile 4G LTE on Unlocked i727 when available?

Ok well i know that it is possible to get T-Mo's "4g" HSPA+ on this device. However, i have not found a clear answer as to when t mobiles 46 lte launches, will an unlocked at&t i727 be able to work on this t-mobile 4g lte. I am stuck between whether i should buy the t989 or an unlocked i727 and use either one on t mobile and this may affect my decison.
Thanks.
I never heard before about "T Mobile LTE !!!" ... T mobile is using HSPA 42 in its best markets ... If you're in a good coverage area from T mobile or you only want to use it , I would say just buy the T mobile S2 and be done with it ... At&t SR even if unlocked and T mobile radio installed in it would not have the full speed for T mobile or aka 4G (may get 3 or 4 mbps DL max) ........
This thread is relevant to my interests. T-mobile LTE will be Band 4, so does that mean the i727 won't work? Or does it have that band and they just aren't advertised? ATT does have some Band 4 holdings, so it's reasonable that they would want the i727 to work on LTE in those areas too.
If you get into Service Mode (*#2263#) and look at LTE bands, it's shown there. Don't know if it means that the phone is able to work with it, but might be.

FYI - This only works on Touchwiz ROMs.
if and when tmobile launches lte a t989 won't be able to use it anyway, no lte radio, the fastest that phone will ever achieve is h+ (fake 4g) speeds.
an unlocked skyrocket will allow lte usage, on bands 700 and 1700, so with the correct radio (i757m modem from bell) u SHOULD be able to access it
(edited to reflect correct info)

It doesn't matter in this thread, since it's for reference only. If he won't be able to try it himself because he's not using TouchWiz - no biggie. But thanks for reminding me.

an unlocked skyrocket MAY allow lte usage, depending on the lte band they use. It'll probably be 1700 AWS though, which is an lte band I don't believe the skyrocket supports, only 700.
So basically, neither. But if ur a gambling man, at least with the skyrocket u stand a chance

I thought the reason AT&T included the 1700 AWS band was b/c they were planning on turning that spectrum into LTE if the acquisition was successful. If so, wouldn't that mean that the 1700 band on the Skyrocket would support LTE Band 4?

was under the impression 1700 for skyrocket was only for hspa, read it somewhere, I stand corrected
Just saw this very recently:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2119406
If I'm not mistaken, the Note has the exact same radio setup as the Skyrocket (AWS and 700Mhz LTE). So, it's looking promising for our phones to work on LTE, too.
Just wanted to bump this to see if anyone got the unlocked i727 to successfully lock onto the T-mobile LTE network. I believe I read somewhere that someone had done it successfully but wanted to confirm since T-mobile has refarmed most areas by this time.

Not true. I did it ... get 12 mpbs DL regularly on 4G. You'll need to try different radios but it's very possible.

There are actually multiple versions of the Nexus S with different bands
See this link for a table of the different models and their bands.
If you want the simple version, though, the only Nexus S variant with 850/1900 support is the GT-i9020A

Absolutely aware of this. This superb search, powered by Google, gives you that answer in the first link. Information on both the T-Mo and AT&T variant.

So if I have at&t service and I get the i9020a I should get 3g service?
Sent from my Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet using xda app-developers app
No should. You will.
So I can take my att sim card out of my current smart phone with data plan put it in the unlocked i9020a and be good to go? or will I have to set any thing else up? Thanks for your help just want to make sure before I buy.
Sent from my Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet using xda app-developers app
If its the 9020a ( same for the 9020t just no 3g) as you mentioned then yes. Just put the sim in. It is a full sized sim so keep that in mind.

[Q] Can I use the SHV-E330S (or Galaxy Round) in the USA on AT&T LTE?

The LTE frequencies used by AT&T (850/1800MHz) are the same as the LTE frequencies used on these phones (also 850/1800MHz). Considering these are unlocked phones, could I use them with AT&T's LTE network in the USA? I'd love to get some of that Snapdragon 800 power in the S4 but not if I couldn't use LTE.
Thanks!

Tmobile Note Edge supports Band 4 (AWS) LTE. It will work, just make sure your sim card is LTE capable.
