My SGS2 with Gingerbread worked fine outputting Netflix to my Pannasonic TV via an adapter and HDMI cable. But now on ICS I get a brief 420i message from the TV and then nothing.
Did you check your hdmi settings under hdmi in your main settings?
But, since it is reverting to 480i it makes me think it is probably an hdcp issue. Either your TV, cable, or problems with ics.
what model TV? Is it hdcp compliant? What cable and adapter?
Hi
TV is Panasonic Plasma TH-37PX80B TH-42PX80B
MHL adapter is ikross HDMI cable by GT Max
I have searched forum for anyone using ICS rom successfully to view hdmi but no success when I try their suggestions.
Currently using Android version 4.0.3 Baseband 19100xxLPS
Kernel version [email protected]
Build number IML74k.XWLP4

If you happen to be running AOKP Milestone 6 & use the Sensation's MHL / HDMI output, could you let me know if it's working ok for you?
For me it works ok in portrait, but if you launch an app / game the screenmode then switches to landscape and the picture via HDMI becomes garbled / corrupt, even though the phones' on-screen display stays fine.
Reason I'm asking is because I'm not sure if it's an issue with the rom itself, or my BizLink MHL adaptor.
Right, I've tried various roms & the only one I can get clean / decent HDMI output from is Sense 3.5 / 3.6 based ones.
Only problem is that the bluetooth stack is bugged in Sense roms apparently, so official PS3 controllers won't work with it via bluetooth.
AOKP Milestone 6 is as I said above.
OpenSensation nightly gives me no output on the tv.
CM9 nightly gives me nothing either.
With CM10 Alpha portrait works ok. I get output on the tv briefly - around half a second - in landscape, and then it goes blank with my tv saying no signal / out of range.
Note that this is using a BizLink MHL to HDMI adaptor, not the official HTC one.
I would have thought if it was an adaptor problem it wouldn't work with Sense 3.5 / 3.6 based roms.
Anyone else care to share their experience with HDMI output, just in case it's something I'm missing? Or if it is the fault of my BizLink adaptor?
HI all,
Please bear with me if this question has been answered in this forum. I couldn't find one yet.
So this is my question - does HDMI to DVI adapter work for MK808B?
I have a 40 inch LCD TV with the screen resolution of 1366 x 768. Because it has only DVI and VGA inputs, my only option to hook up the dongle to my monitor will be the adapter. I have seen a few reports that MK808 has issues with this type of adapter (pink tint and offsets?), but how about MK808B?
Thanks!
dunno, but as dvi does not carry audio, you would lose sound...

Thanks for your input, but I'm fine with no audio since I can use my bluetooth speaker.
Anyone else?
I'll try testing it when my mk808b arrives in a few days.

Thank you for your input, but I do know it works for PC, but I want to know if the converter(adapter) works for MK808B.

I tested it, and I'm afraid I can't give a complete yes/no answer.
HDMI to DVI works for my 1920x1080 monitor (which also has an HDMI port) with no problems, but it won't work for my 1280x1024 monitor. The latter just doesn't wake up, as if it isn't getting a signal.

Someone on freaktab reports that it works for HDMI-to-VGA at your resolution, although not fully sharp: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?4856-MK808B-1366x768-monitor-1280x720-setting
I'm guessing it will only work if your TV can handle scaling or otherwise interpreting the 720p signal from the stick. There are also 480p kernels for some ROMs, and a native 1366x768 is probably possible in theory.

Thank you for the update!
I also did my own study, and decided to get MK808 instead of MK808B because i) omegamoon has 720p DVI kernel for MK808. he hasn't been able to do the same for 808B and ii) 2dark4u is going to release a kernel that will support 1360 x 768 with DVI.
Here're the links to those kernels for anyone looking for more info.
omegamoon : http://www.omegamoon.com/blog/index.php?entry=entry130228-183642
2dark4u : http://www.allminipc.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=422
I will post an update when my MK808 arrives.
i have the cs918 q7 (mk888 i think).
HDMI to DVI works on my box and my tv is 1366x768 and doesnt have HDMI.
well its plug into a HDMI 3 way splitter via HDMI but the Splitter is plugged into the TV via a HDMI to Dvi cable.
the screen size was a little out of sync with the actual tv screen size but can quickly fix that in the display settings.
obviously sound doesnt work through DVI but i just hooked up some speakers to the 3.5mm headphone socket
Hi, been trying like hell for info in here to search about HDMI 30 pin adapter for MHL out, but for some reason the info seems to be completely lacking.
So decided to start this thread.
I have a p5113 and the 30-pin mhl-hdmi out adapter I got mailed from Thailand. Works ok on stock ROM. Works fine on a 16:9 monitor, but if I try to output on a 4:3 monitor it blinks rapidly only. I mean the video-out blinks rapidly on the monitor.
So I tried a bunch of non-stock roms and none of them seem to work. No MHL out at all.
Is there anybody on here who has figured this out exactly? What ROMs/Kernels have MHL out actually working for p5113?
Is it true that only stock based ROMs have it working. Or are some of the rumors about non-stock ROMs having it working true?
Thanks,
Blobby
Hello!
HDMI Output is possible on this phone?
Ive bought one Usb-c to HDMI converter but its doesnt work.
Somewhere i read that if i get a usb 2.0 to 3.0 converter it would be possible.
Installing two different apps, One says that it support mhl, other says it doesnt.
Thanks
Unfortunately no. Xiaomi does not support mhl.
So there's no way to capture video from the device via capture card?
Not what you're asking for, but I mirrored it fine with an Amazon Fire HDMI stick to my TV. It was a bit touch and go, until I changed my wifi connection to 5GHz. Maybe you could do some HDMI wiggling to get the data?
Cheers
Steve
