My SGS2 with Gingerbread worked fine outputting Netflix to my Pannasonic TV via an adapter and HDMI cable. But now on ICS I get a brief 420i message from the TV and then nothing.
Did you check your hdmi settings under hdmi in your main settings?
But, since it is reverting to 480i it makes me think it is probably an hdcp issue. Either your TV, cable, or problems with ics.
what model TV? Is it hdcp compliant? What cable and adapter?

hi guys,
I'm on insercoin rom .
i bought an MHL -> hdmi cable tv out for my sensation.
But how does it work ? when i plug cable on tv , no images ...
can someone explain me how do that works ? thanks
Is it pal ou ntsc for french format ??
Hi,
I don't have the cable, but i would try opening the galery select an album or video and press the menu button. You will see an option select player.
Check if there is any cable option there.
Rgds
Did you also use your power cable on the adapter? It won't work without it.

first plug the mhl cable to your tv, then plug the power cable to mhl cable and then plug them to your sensation. you should choose av (on my tv av5) on your tv.
what TV do you have , try different hdmi input.
I have adapter that works but the problem is that i cant put files bigger
than 4 gb on the device.

Your memory card is formatted in FAT32, which doesn't support files bigger than 4GB. You need to split the files to smaller chunks to get them on your card, or switch your file system to ext2/3. NTFS doesn't work on android as far as I know...

I use now InserCoin 5.0.2 and My TV says "Format not supported" and "No signal" when correct hdmi input is selected. Tried even connect via my A/V receiver and still no signal text is shown. Phone says HDMI connected but my TV doesen't get it. Tried couple other roms too but with same results. I got cable just few days ago. And this is annoying.
Tried rebooting phone wjen connected to tv.
Tried different plugin orders. ( first phone then power then tv. first tv etc.)
TV is 2years old Philips 37PFL5604.
I heard that some old TVs doesn`t support HML. I`m lucky and my 2 months Samsung supports, but I think some of TVs doesn`t.
my friend I had the same issue until a little while ago. I am using Android Revolution... tv out was not working. Then i thought I might try to connect the power output to the wall, not to a computer USB port. That solved it for me. First connected hdmi to tv, then the adapter, then power to the adapter and finally connected the phone. Hope this works!
Hello All,
Search quite a few threads on xda as well as internet but unfortunately nobody have been facing issue similar to mine.
Okay, let me put it in brief. I bought an original samsung mhl adapter for galaxy s2 from ebay which presumable works well with samsung galaxy note too (haven't seen any MHL Adapter specifically for galaxy note) as heard on forums and web. It did not work. So, i got back to the vendor and he replaced it to me with another MHL Adapter. That too did not work. I got a refund as the vendor was good.
I still somehow wanted the MHL to work so went to a different vendor, known for good products (i.e. flipkart) and purchased another MHL adapter after confirming with the executives that yes it would work with galaxy note. It too isnt working.
In both the cases, the phone gets charged but there are no such notifications (notifications such as USB Host Cable Connected, or Keyboard Connected or MHL Connected etc). I have a working HDMI 1.4 cable (tested and verified), and yes, i am aware that external power is required to the MHL Adapter. .
Now, every other functionality on my phone is working well, like USB Host Mode, bluetooth/usb keyboards and bluetooth/usb mouse, data sync via usb etc etc, its only the MHL adapter which is giving me an issue constantly. Can the micro usb port on my Note be faulty ? I dont think as every other options are working fine.
I have tried all the three MHL Adapters (2 from the 1st vendor and 1 from the second) after i upgraded my phone to ICS. Are any other users facing the same issue ?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Apparently, there are problems with MHL support on ICS.

MHL adapter regarding....
hi guys,
i am also facing the same problem with MHL adapter. i tried to connect my galaxy note n7000 to sony bravia 3d tv via MHL but failed to do so. whenever i connect MHL to HDMI Cable to tv and to phone nothing happened and not even my phone or tv show any sign of connection or any notification regarding that. my phone not even show the battery charging sign. i also used 3d HDMI cable for the connection but nothing came out.... and when the vender (from whom i purchased the MHL) gave me the demo the same MHL was working fine with his HDMI cable and tv but the cable and tv he used were not 3D whereas i have a 3D tv. i dont understand why i am not able to connect the MHL adapter using 3D HDMI cable to my Sony Bravia 40HX750 3D tv with my Galaxy Note n7000. still struggling with that.... any reply in this regard will be appreciated.... thanx.
Probably a bit of a stretch here but if anyone can help I'm sure it's the XDA community.
I have the AllShare Cast Dongle and it works fantastic. Use it with HDMI connection regularly, also use an HDMI to VGA Adapater. I purchased an HDMI to composite adaptor but can't get that to work.
http://www.amazon.com/Sanoxy-HDMI-C...qid=1350066401&sr=1-1&keywords=hdmi+composite
I've done some searching and have found people with AppleTV and have also used the adapter with my laptop, so I know it works. The problem though is that it seems the AllShare Cast Dongle doesn't turn on when it's plugged into this device.
I can get the tablet to connect momentarily but it always disconnects and the device turns off. Anyone used something with the AllShare Cast Dongle to convert the HDMI to composite? Could you share what it is?
Any suggestions on why this setup might not be working?
Can you please confirm the model number of your allshare cast dongle?

Can you please check another hdmi to vga convertor?
I couldn't get it to work with an HDMI to DVI converter cable.

HDMI to VGA works fine. OP states that and that the problem is using the dongle with an HDMI to composite adaptor.
What HDMI to VGA adapter are you using? I can't get mine to work, but it works fine if I plug the HDMI.directly into a TV.

allshare cast dongle
when you use the allshare cast dongle the phone gets hot??? I need to know because i want one of this dongles, because when using the mhl adapter the phone gets hot.
I wonder if the dongle need to handshake with the TV HDMI port, if you are using a VGA adapter it wont be able to do this which is why you get a picture for a moment then lose it?. The allshare case Dongle isnt meant to be used that way so I'm not too surprised it doesn't work.

I've never experienced my tab getting hot from using the allshare cast dongle.
Might be getting hot because of the power drain through the wired connector, but the allshare cast dongle uses wireless connection. If your tab/phone doesn't get hot using wifi then it won't using dongle....

I think maybe you have got a fake hdmi converter. So i suggest you should buy a new high quality and original hdmi converter from this professional website: www.hdgenius.com

Hi, i recently bought the hdtv adapter(EPL-3PHPBEGINU) for my galaxy tab 7.0 plus and i was very disappointed when i connected it to my TV(Sony Bravia KLV-40NX500) and nothing came up. Did a lot of googling, went through forums but couldn't find what's going wrong.
In the manual of hdtv adapter it is mentioned that tv should support anynet+(HDMI-CEC) , my tv has sony's own branding of HDMI-CEC(Bravia sync). I also came across forums where they mentioned sony bravia TVs worked fine with samsung mhl adapters.
Anyone who has used the hdtv adapter, please share your experience.
When i connect hdtv adapter to tab, there is sound that dock is connected and also tab screen refreshes. And yes i have connected my charging cable to mhl adapter and phones charges off it.
I am using a HDMI 1.4 cable to connect from adapter to tv.
I am running stock ICS 4.0.4 on my tab.

While connecting the HDTV adapter power adapter also should be plugged in. Please check and tell. I'm also waiting to buy the same adapter. i have a samsung gt-p6200
I think EPL-3PHPBEGSTA and EPL-3PHPBEGINU are same item. I think INU stands for india. In samsung india and samsung US sites the part number is shown as EPL-3PHPBEG if you search for EPL-3PHPBEGSTA and EPL-3PHPBEGINU.
Hi,

Hello!
HDMI Output is possible on this phone?
Ive bought one Usb-c to HDMI converter but its doesnt work.
Somewhere i read that if i get a usb 2.0 to 3.0 converter it would be possible.
Installing two different apps, One says that it support mhl, other says it doesnt.
Thanks
Unfortunately no. Xiaomi does not support mhl.
So there's no way to capture video from the device via capture card?
Not what you're asking for, but I mirrored it fine with an Amazon Fire HDMI stick to my TV. It was a bit touch and go, until I changed my wifi connection to 5GHz. Maybe you could do some HDMI wiggling to get the data?
Cheers
Steve
