[Q] HTC Sensation laging extremely on AOSP/CM/MIUI(AOSP) ROMS - HTC Sensation

Guys, I am quite a flashomaniac. I usually install every single ROMs released in forums. But recently i am getting some serious lag issues on my phone.
After installing Sense ROMs(Sense 3.6 ICS, Sense 4.1 ICS or Sense 4+ JB 4.1) my phone performs perfectly without lag(with normal usage, nothing heavy).
But these ROMs being so large in size and some HTC bloat, and my hatred for sense, i want to use AOSP roms. But when I install AOSP/CM(10/10.1) roms, my phone lags like f**k after installing 2-3 apps(usually some themes, viber and Line) and using them. I always wipe my partitions and format my sdcard regularly. Still facing same lags. I try running my CPU at max frequency(my phone's chip supports only to 1728 GHz) and at performance governer. Still those lags remain.
I installed whole firmware package from latest HTC RUU too, still have same issues.
Does anyone have any idea about this?

if there are any apps that you don't need and consumes ram use app quarantine from play store to disable them
see then how it goes

I mentioned my basic apps. I see lags after installing those apps only. And I use Greenify too.
Yesterday i thought of trying to limit background processes to 2(from dev settings) and its working okay, but at the cost of having almost no-multitasking.

Launcher Pro Lag

Running Sensation XE...
Does anyone have lag when switching between the home screens?
I have 5 screens all pretty much full with desktop visualizer widgets.
I realise this might be alot for the phone to handle, and the problem is not THAT bad, but it is something I would like to know more about solving.
First of all can anyone tell me if Launcher Pro is an 'Overlay' to Sense, then presumably sense is still running in the background?
So would deleting all the widgets I used to have when running sense help? (from the screens) or clearing sense data through settings-applications.

If you have launcher pro set as the default launcher the sense launcher should not still be running, things from sense however may still be running, like weather. I noticed lag with lp, adw seemed to be better. I actually prefer sense, though I'm in the minority for that. I would personally remove all widgets and icons from sense launcher to be on the safe side if you're not planning on using it.
Many Sense things remain running in the background even if you don't use it, including the Launcher and Rosie, even if you don't use them at all. Sense is part of the ROM, so really invasive.
If you're using Launcher Pro, and never Sense, you should flash a Non-Sense script to completly remove Sense (or freeze it with Titanium backup)
That's what I do=> No Sense script from Mike1986, Android Revolution HD thread, post 2. It's supposed to work with every ROM
It will already be really faster.
Then go into Launcher pro options, advanced options, memory usage:
most of the time, by default, memory usage is set to light or medium. With the Sensation, and all the free RAM we have, you should set it to high or maximum memory usage.
Once it done, using Launcher pro with 5 pages full of widgets (like mine) will be as smooth or smoother that Sense.
NOTE: Sense is optimized to handle correctly or both cores, Launcher Pro may take time to wake the second core. But if you force CPU1 online, it will fly!
(no no, it won 't kill your battery, you'll just always consume 192mhz more, but your device will suddenly be so smoother that you will reduce your max CPU clock, so in the whole, battery drain is the same for better overall performances)
I'm surprised no one else suggested you use a different launcher that's being attended to. The developer of Launcher Pro updated it quite often up until he released the Plus(paid) version, now he doesn't update at all. I know of the lag issue you're having, as I've had it myself. It's basically old code trying to run along side new code. I promise you if you choose a different launcher you won't run into this problem. I too loved Launcher Pro, but even the most beloved apps need a little maintenance once in awhile.
this is the first time ive heard tht launcherpro is lagging. it never lags on me. ive been using it since the original g1! no lag

I had the pro version on my three last android mobiles also. Never had a lag. I have all set to full speed in settings and it flies.
Never had a problem.

even on the stock rom, the day I had my Sensation, Launcher Pro was smoother than Sense, once well configured.
Now with custom ROMS and kernels, both are smooth

GB Lags ! - Any script/tweak to speed up read of INTERNAL memory/card?

Hi i wonder if there is such a tweak or script.
I have many apps, and it annoys me while there is such a lag when i open settings-applications-manage applications.
This list of apps loads about 6-7 seconds, and there are many similar lags in apps that need to read some data. Like there is slow internal memory, or maybe Android is overloaded with apps (i have over 100 apps, but thanks to app2sd there is 400mb free in internal, system partition have 80mb free space.)
Any ideas to speed it up? I'm on stock ROM, ginger.
Supercharger and sdcard read/write tweak applied
If your rooted try SD Booster from the market and if your not rooted try a different SD card class
TrevE Supporter!
Yes I've tried, and i have adata c10 card. I was thinking about something else. But thanks.
Wrong.in the Menu "manage apps" apps load in about 25sec, and next 15sec are hardly scrollable.
I think there's no option but install custom ROM.
So there's a question which one is frequently updated, fastest, zero lag, lots of ram, goof for gaming...

Try to do a full factory reset. Stock GB roms shouldn't be that laggy (I've tried 21a and 21b)

IMO, stock is probably one of the smoothest roms (Baxter is slightly smoother, but thats most likely due to the removal of alot of things and slight OC. It still uses the same Kernel as Stock roms.)
Quite alot of people use thaiz and acura though, but imo, neither are very smooth, especially when playing games such as GTA III + Full effects and Dungeon defenders.

[Q] Lag w/ ICS ARHD latest

So I installed ARHD 6.0.3 ICS recently. Everything is pretty stable. Really like the new look of certain apps and the font is much easier on the eyes. I'm having three nagging issues though. I'm getting a lot of jank/jerkiness with ADW EX, the stock browser/maxthon mobile, and any custom boot up/down animations. The internet browsing is the biggest deal. No matter what settings I play with I can't smoothly scroll up and down a webpage. Any scrolling/zooming also re-renders imgs/text which drives me nuts. Is there anything I can change in the browser settings or general settings?. I'm not forcing GPU acceleration, I've used both the 1.2 and 1.5ghz kernel options at the setup, and I have t-mobile's version of the sensation. ARHD 3.6.11 (what I came from) was fine as far as smoothness in all 3 areas, but battery life was poor.
Do a superwipe and install it again. Kinda strange. Really had no such issues.

Full stock Base 3.19.401.1 - lag alert

If you are using a full stock 3.19.401.1 ROM like this one and suffering from sudden unexplained lag, I've found the reason
7 digital seems to suddenly activate in the background and wreck havoc to the JB smoothness, it won't go away until restart
it also won't appear in task manager, so go to manage apps > running apps and you will probably see it there
you will need to disable to get rid of it's evil and then back to locked JB 60fps
if you are using a custom ROM based on 3.19.401.1, your ROM chef most likely have removed this useless app
Very good friend! You the man! :fingers-crossed:
i disable it on last stock Rom 3.18 and my phone looks faster ....
7 digital is the problem ?
My phone looks faster when i disable it ... its a useless program ... lol
In my opinion, I consider it bloatware and is on my cleaning list

[Q] Stability and Speed of ICS ROMs

Hi,
I've tested some ICS Roms:
- CM10 Nightly IODAK ROM of 5th May 2013 (Current)
- OptimusRS Xperia
- GuilleFS
- Stock v30b AT&T rom
And, after using it for a while Im always having the same problem.
Its seems speedy at starting and gets slowing down in a while. That seems it is a RAM problem, cause Im used to OC the phone to 1,2~>1,3 Ghz, and after killing apps it will get speedy for a while. All we know that its useless killing apps cause Android will be opening it.
Also Im used to uninstall all unneeded apps, besides i control service events with autostarts app.
Before I changed to ICS I had Prometheus Rom and it was smooth and did not have this probs.
The main question, wich is your faster ICS rom for your opinion, please dont tell me about roms with constant FC and Reboots like GuilleFS..
Have a look at zeppelinrox's .jar patching scripts in android general dev/hacking section. It has made my phone run much more smooth. It helps with the app killing, sound/volumes are consistent, etc. Works on any rom apparently...
