Restore Titanium Backup through dropbox

I uploaded my apps to dropbox because my current Nexus S broke. When I got the new one I could not restore my apps. I rooted the new phone and installed TB and DB and did this:
With Titanium Backup 3.6.4 (or above):
If your backup folder is empty, then with you can simply switch to the Schedules tab and hit the “RUN” button in the “Sync to Dropbox / Box.net / Google Drive” section to download all backups from Dropbox / Box.net / Google Drive back onto your phone.
The downloaded files show up in TB, but when I go to run all missing apps with data it says 0.
Sorry for the stupid question but I already did the searches and other than this I came up empty handed.
Just move the TitaniumBackup folder to SD. Wouldn't that be faster? Maybe something got corrupt from DB to TB.

Your backup may have been corrupted if moving to SD didn't work.
So I downloaded a few apps and tried it all over again but with less apps. Same problem. I'm doing something wrong or not the right way.

I think something must have been corrupted, because i have done the same thing repeatedly and never had any problems. I just copy the TB folder from the sd card to a new location and point TB at it. I have done this from my evo, to my nook color, to my wifes epic touch with no problems. Since i dont ever save system apps i dont worry about restoring incompatible files. Only app that ever has a problem is Swype keyboard. I have to download that one new every time...
Yeah, but everytime I do it with a new set of apps it still doesn't work.

So I learned I have to set the preferences in TB and tell it where the backup file is. Anyone else know what else I might not be doing?

Backup and restore
Using Backup&Restore Drop-box plugin on Word-press is really helpful. It has Unlimited dropbox backups, Unlimited dropbox restores, Unlimited local backups and Unlimited local restores.

[Q] Restore apps?

Hi,
I recently sent my Samsung Galaxy Ace off for repair and as I expected, it came back wiped. I had backed up all my apps and games using ES FILE EXPLORER and I copied and pasted all my SD files onto my PC. Now I put my SD card baack into my phone but the apps and games didt load again.
So I decided to format the SD card and try again. It didnt work. Now I know the google account keeps track of all the apps you install but when I re-installed some that way, they didnt keep all my data.
Surely if I had backed up the apps and app data there is a way I can get all my apps back with my saved progress on them? Also I have read through some other threads on this and as yet cant find a non root (no titanium backup) solution.
Thanks

Usually, file explorers that offer backup options do not backup app data. Just the apks. So you actually have not backed up the app data. Hence restoring it is not possible.
If your phone is rooted, you can use Titanium Backup Pro to backup all your apps with app data. Or you could use the method detailed out here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=511835

[Q] How to save apps from GooglePlay? In .apk format?

Is it possible somehow to select some installed applications from google play, and save them to the memory card?
For example, when I am at home, with wify I download and install
"TeslaLED" - Torch Led Flashlight
"OsomAnd" - Topografic Map & gps.
"ES File Explorer File Manager" - File Manager
Then, After the apps are installed, I go in the wild far away in the mountains, in the cottage / refuge. There I have a friend with an android phone but there is no wify or internet acces, so I can take my external memory out and put it into his phone to install the apps and copy the maps, or transfer them over bluetooth.
How can I make this possible?

My phone is not rooted and I don't intend to root him, at least for now.
For some strange reason backup and restore app did not worked, but
I managed to save the installed apps (.apk) from the Phone into the PC with MyPhoneExplorer. Then to the external memory card.
However, you have to be carefull at the install time of myphoneexplorer (the pc part) as it has some adware/pup (install also some reg cleaner if you hit yes).
Problem solved, Thx buttons pressed anyway.

[Q] Titanium Backup and .obb Files

Hello,
I have been using Titanium Backup for a few months now. And The only thing that bugs me is that It Cannot Backup .obb Files and Restore it, Respectively.
And I am not talking about backing up Games with over 1 GB of .obb file. I only want to backup 2 - 3 games with .obb less than 100 MB. But Titanium backup can't do this job? I have a pro version.
If I am missing something, please correct me.
thanks.
anyone?
I can only assume .obb files are possibly data files. I've seen them also within many apps. I'm also a pro user. TB might just be limited even in the pro version as to what files it will backup

TB Backs up OBB files for me. Idk if the bug is device specific or even if it's a bug, but for sure TB can backup obb files.

I don't even see an option to backup obb files in TB. I tried to send it to TB but that didn't work. While I'm not questioning it I don't see the option anywhere

There's one option to include "External Backups" But it doesn't/ NEVER works for me. I have tried to change it to "Always" but still no luck.

No not a SD card. I think "external" here refers to data files in TB. As claimed by some users. However, that function does nothing on my Galaxy S5. Dunno if it can't support the phone or if its some bug.
titanium website says that It doesn't backup obb files
"Note that Titanium Backup only includes external data that is stored in /sdcard/Android/data/ directory. Some files like the OBB files are big and are downloaded straight from Google, thus never contain user generated content. These files are NOT included and are NOT considered as app external data by Titanium Backup."

I noticed this too. Then I installed FX File explorer and it gives an access denied message when trying to access that location. I ended up wiping my phone to start fresh thinking maybe something was botched after the update. I plugged my phone into my PC to transfer some files I had backed up and noticed that I have full access to Android/Data on my PC! It is full of files and you can copy and paste from there on your computer. I guess Android is trying to protect that location as there can be vital information stored in that folder. Hope that helps.
