The iPhone and HTC One imitations - Android General

I've been looking around on the tech news and I found this company that is making iPhone and HTC One copys. It is apparently running stock Android 4.2.1 so it might forked from AOSP. The devices are really cheep for the hardware they pack. Take a look for yourself guys.

Im using jelly bean on my old nexus.

I have to say jelly bean blows this sense bs out of the water. I cant wait to have it on my one x, mostly just to use Google now. Its so nice and fast and actually useful. I can set all my alarms without even looking at the phone!
Holding out for source code. Hopefully it will comes quickly. Having come from several previous htc devices, I should be used to this long wait for source bullshhh by now.

Really, setting your alarms without looking at the screen? To be perfectly honest it doesn't seem all that beneficial.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I would kill to have stock jelly bean working on the one x. I'm starting to really dislike sense because of it's memory hogging. I can't think of a single feature it adds to stock android other than the ability to remove some home screens.

I buy htc solely for hardware. Been doing it since the apache. Using custom roms since the touch pro. Like the hardware. Don't mind sense but would love to do without it.
Plus I hate how sense has to add notes to all my contacts.

Because a lot of us are just in it for the hardware. I don't want a Nexus (though I have been quite tempted) in fact, the ROM I *want* to use is MIUI. However, since we do not yet have kernel source that is not 100% ready for me and I also don't want to lose the Sense burst camera.
I don't hate Sense, in fact it was my first Android experience (HTC Aria) when I first switched to CyanogenMod, I thought "Where did my beautiful clock and Facebook widget go?!"
Then I got over it. If one doesn't take advantage of a majority of the things that Sense has to offer, they simply have no reason to keep it on their phone. I fall into that category.
I promise, if there had been a version of the HTC One X without Sense, I would have grabbed it in a heartbeat. It's the most beautiful phone screen I have ever used, and I like the general design. My only complaint is no memory card slot.
What you're saying is: If you don't like Touchwiz, don't buy Samsung. If you don't like Timescape, don't buy Sony. If you don't like Sense, don't buy HTC, and if you don't like Blur, don't buy Motorola.
It isn't that simple because some of us dislike them all. I happen to fall into that category, but if I have to pick my poison it is definitely Sense.
We buy the phone despite Sense because we know that there will eventually be the opportunity to remove it.
It's great hardware, and Android devices are rarely stuck on the manufacturer's software
Thanks. That sir is a good answer. Ive been asking people y they would buy a phone knowing its sense, and then complain about it. Just funny 2 me ya know. ;-) but i got flamed for asking the question...........even got called a troll!! Ha ha ha!!!!! Funny!!!!! But ya man, thats all they had to say, instead of getting all sad, and calling people names!

Same here. This is the sexiest device on the market by far. A little low on the internal storage, but this is like saying a 10/10 drop dead gorgeous model isn't any good because her titties are only a B cup.
I was hoping we'd have the kernel source by now so we could get some real custom ROMs on here and not just modded stock ROMs. I do appreciate the mods and hacks but I'm talking about CM9, AOSP/AOKP, etc. Very disappointed with HTC because of their constant neglect. Almost thinking of selling this device and getting a Galaxy Nexus again.
Ok maybe i should have asked.......y do people complain about having sense knowing thats indeed what they bought. I love sense, and sense 4.0 is sexy!!!!

Same as posted before, I bought it because it was priced well, and I don't care for any manufacturer overlay tbh. My first android was the original evo, loved it, but then I found cyanogenmod, and loved it even more. That's what's great about android you can get custom roms, and have it the way you like it.
Also sense has changed a lot lately it use to be able to multitask just like default android, but HTC in sense 4 changed that which, imo, is a reason to be able to complain. Why change something that never had a peoblem.

Thanks I don't really think there is anything wrong with Sense 4.0 in fact, I like it. I just know that I don't use it.
I'm going to use Apex or Nova Launcher for sure (I frequently swap between the two) then I lose the Sense widgets.
I would rather use Widget Locker so the Sense lockscreens (despite being pretty cool) become useless. (Not using WL now though because of the multitouch issue it causes)
People just want to get the extra memory it uses back. You're right though, Sense 4.0 is pretty nice in my opinion. Not really much to not like, but if you don't use it it turns into wasted resources.
and I think everyone has to admit, the Sense camera is delightful

A bitter farewell

Yesterday, I got myself an HTC Raider 4G LTE as I saw it on Craigslist for dirt cheap. I had to borrow money off of my parents as I do not want to touch my savings account. As a result, I needed to sell my Infuse... I know that this sounds as ridiculous, but I think the amount of flashing I have done with the Infuse has already been enough. And it is time for just a stock phone that can perform decently.
I still plan on getting an infuse sometime down the road as Wolfson DAC, development, and AWESOME FORUMS are just way too hard to bail out of. Plus the fact that people here are so much more friendly than any other forum I've seen. Completely unbiased statement.
Anyhow, I would just like to say thank you to the devs especially and everyone else that made my stay with the infuse a memorable one.
FLASH ON!

Actually i used the pre as well. Webos does multi-tasking really really well and i like the OS but i don't like the lack of apps. I guarantee that people will go back to android unless we can get android apps running on webos.
If WebOS was still around, it'd be a better competitor to Android than Windows Phone is.
If I have nothing else to work on during that time I will look into it. I used to own a touchpad (look at my sig, but it was before i just sold it for a nexus 7 ) and I loved the OS. Its card view is fantastic.
The app store is what killed it though
Still it would be an awesome experience to port it.
I'd be willing to test stuff for you.

I'm hoping for and evo shift or evo port. But any who the Touch pad dies not because of HP alone but the lack of advertisement. I feel as if the Touchpad was probably advertised it would have had a better User and Dev response. But with Open WebOS on the Horizon maybe we can add some more apps and maybe better visual customization then what we have currently.

I'd say the lack of apps was because of the lack of decent hardware. I know a lot of people who owned webOS devices at one point and miss the OS dearly, but Palm (and later the bozos at HP) were simply never able to provide any good hardware to upgrade too. The Touchpad was a plastic-y whale, and the Pre 3 was actually quite nice but never got released. Go figure, when they do manage to build a decent device they don't launch it. I don't understand why, but Palm was just never able to put together a hardware dev team worth squat.
I had a pre for a year and while I loved webos.. The hardware reminded me of a cheap Samsung phone...
I don't miss webos nearly as much as I used to because android now has so many aspects of webos....
I'd be down to test a port just for some nostalgia

Most of my previous phones can be seen in my sig... the first real "phone" was my HTC Touch Pro 2 back in the days of windows mobile... I still miss the beautiful HTC Sense 2.1 builds on windows mobile 6.5 . I also ran gingerbread on it for awhile, which worked surprisingly well. Then there was the LG Optimus V, which I ran CM7 on. Then when I switched carriers to straight talk, I picked up a Sony Xperia X10. That was a great phone with everything I wanted: 4in screen, an excellent 8mp camera, 1ghz snapdragon CPU, a vibrant dev community... I ran CM7, Feravolt's stock-based roms, and MIUI on it. But then I got tired of the weak adreno 200 graphics and overall sluggishness of the UI... and I became intrigued by the Atrix 4G and its lapdock after one of my buddies hard-bricked one . On my original Atrix, I ran nottachtrix as well as nuetrino cm7 and jokers's cm9 for a long time... until it began to suffer from several hardware issues (particularly wifi related). That was when I replaced it with my current Atrix 2, which I have loved from the first day

Well i have a small collection of'eh ok phones
I have a sprint palm pixi (ha ha i know, it was my first smart phone, and to be honest i think webos was the best os of all time, made sence to use)
I have an iphone 3gs that my brother gave me when i switched to at&t, and she kicked it hard untill the screen died ( little ba$$tard lasted 4 yrs)
Then i got the A2, now on my third one (have one to ship back, camera shat the bed, nothin but dark, p button randomly decides to put in a p when i text and the hard buttons are on the right (landscape), recieved the new one yesterday, but it came with ics so now im a bit sad)
I have 2 iphone 4 that i got for doing computer work, one at&t, one verizon... i just recently modified my sim card to work in both my a2 and the iphone so i can use the iphone at work ( keep my precious a2 out of the saw dust ( and tethering works on the iphone and i use it a lot at work)
When at&t finnally gives me an upgrade, ill be getting either the sgiii or the nexus 4 and selling back one of the iphones so i can keep my a2 ( if the bootloader was unlocked i swear it would be an almost perfect phone, i really love it)
Thats my list

Most of my previous phones can be seen in my sig... the first real "phone" was my HTC Touch Pro 2 back in the days of windows mobile... I still miss the beautiful HTC Sense 2.1 builds on windows mobile 6.5 . I also ran gingerbread on it for awhile, which worked surprisingly well. Then there was the LG Optimus V, which I ran CM7 on. Then when I switched carriers to straight talk, I picked up a Sony Xperia X10. When I had the ppc6700 I do believe sense was actually from a project called touch flow brings back some good old times..... This was the root of it all we have today in terms of smart phones guess we could still call them pda's.....

Yeah, I used to dev Linux for those PDA/early smart phones on handhelds.org in the early 2000s. I carried several ipaqs running Linux and Opie desktop. Great devices.
