A bitter farewell - Samsung Infuse 4G

Yesterday, I got myself an HTC Raider 4G LTE as I saw it on Craigslist for dirt cheap. I had to borrow money off of my parents as I do not want to touch my savings account. As a result, I needed to sell my Infuse... I know that this sounds as ridiculous, but I think the amount of flashing I have done with the Infuse has already been enough. And it is time for just a stock phone that can perform decently.
I still plan on getting an infuse sometime down the road as Wolfson DAC, development, and AWESOME FORUMS are just way too hard to bail out of. Plus the fact that people here are so much more friendly than any other forum I've seen. Completely unbiased statement.
Anyhow, I would just like to say thank you to the devs especially and everyone else that made my stay with the infuse a memorable one.
FLASH ON!

I have never had a good device from HTC. Hd2 came close after putting android on it. Both my touch and mytouch4g sucked.

I love this phone

I just came from the Atrix. I thought that I would be OK running the atrix without mods(locked bootloader), but i think i went through with-drawls from CM. Motorola blows goats with their locked blootloaders. Ther stock price is down 10%
Design Gears bricked his phone, that was the final straw. I will never by a Motorola phone again
Loving it too!
Coming from Leo I have found it very similar just with more mpx and RAM/ROM
Bye physical buttons as well.
So far so good (2 days with it)
some testings have showed that browsing speed of Atrix is not faster than Inspire. Proud to own an Inspire.
I agree, it is a great phone. Had it for a week now, it was a nice upgrade from my HTC Aria.
Love this phone too. Coming from 4 years of every iPhone - finally got bored and made the jump.
At first it was like a really bad break up - thought about the iPhone 4 every single day, missed it when I would hold or caress another phone, and wanted many of the features/memories back. Now after about two months, rooting, flashing to MIUI (following weekly builds), cattleprod's Cyan04.7 Kernel, and other tweaks and mods, I'm wholeheartedly fulfilled and more ways then before. Can't imagine going back to that terrible world I was in before.
Don't get me wrong, I have an iPad 2 and wouldn't give that up for the world (or any other Android tablet) though. Apples vs oranges though.

Came from Iphone 4 and I'll never go back. Been with apple for past few years with 3g, 3gs, 4 and never again. The customization of Android makes it all worth the transition 100 times over.
So yes needless to say I love my Inspire 4g! In fact trying to talk buddy of mine into buying one instead of the Infuse. I prefer HTC.

The infuse has about 1/2 the RAM and only 200 MHz more CPU (easily in the stable OC range)
Also, the only bad thing about moving from the iPhone was the apps I had bought. It was SO easy to sync my contacts to Gmail.
I love his phone also. After rooting, custom Roms etc... this phone is even better. I switched from being and Iphone user and will not go back. I am waiting to get my wife one for her upgrade so she can get rid of the Iphone also.

Count me in on the Inspire love. I've had mine for a couple months now and find it still to be an exceptional smartphone. I haven't rooted mine but I do use custom launchers. Currently using GO Launcher EX with the GoContacts/GoDialer and continue to be amazed by this Inspire.
I can't take screenshots on my Inspire but this is exactly what it looks like from these screenshots of my HD2. The only difference is the taskbar.

infuse looks tempting

really thinking about selling inspire for infuse! I have heard a lot of good things about it. coming from an iphone, you knew it was the only and fastest apple phone available at that time. this android stuff really makes it hard to keep up with the best! dev support here is priceless though!

Messed with it today. Seems cheap, I like my inspire wayyyy better.
I would say that it doesn't feel too cheap. But it felt kinda weird and somewhat cheap. Kinda like the Focus. But other than the TouchWiz UI I would love to see this get the cappy treatment with AOSP. Other than that easily passable for the Inspire.
Saw it today when I was looking at Uverse. It's a Samsung. Need I say more? Only thing going for it is the screen.

Asking opinions in a the section for a phone now owned by many former, disgruntled Samsung captivate owners, me being one of them.
If you're looking for more palatable responses, you might try the infuse forum.
With respect, I visit this section for my phone, the Inspire, multiple times per day, and having to wade through people fawning over a samsung phone, after the load of happy horse **** that company gave out to captivate owners, is not something that I enjoy.

Ask in the correct forum. Altho you ain't botherin me. I just wouldn't buy a samsung.
If I were going to buy a Samsung, I would just wait until AT&T gets the Galaxy S 2. Buying the Infuse would make zero sense, especially with the S2 and the HTC Holiday right around the corner.
And that's not even mentioning the quad core phones that are supposedly being released in Q4.

I'm sure there are others with inspires that are similarly tempted. They most like haven't owned a Samsung, and believe me, the captivate debacle really jaded a lot of people.
Like I said, many of those people ended up here, and to those people, Samsung is kind of a "four-letter word," so to speak.

Inspire 4G to Atrix

Sold my Inspire not too long ago (I fell prey to the allure of the dual core Motorola Atrix).
Worst... decision... EVER!!!
Although it had the dual core it actually felt slower and more clunky overall than the Inspire. I was running GingerBlur which helped as it basically removed MotoBlur but itstill felt like a real step backwards. HDMI was kind of a novelty although I never used it. The only thing in Moto's favour was battery life. For me, I prefer quality over quantity .
Krisbo
If u read up on this matter, specifically other inspire owners doing the same thing, you would have an overwhelming amount of first hand accounts coming to the same conclusion... the atrix is a fail of a phone and its not worth it. Specs doesn't make the phone. It's the overall experience that does. Some people have to find out the hard way I guess. My advice... switch back to the inspire.

The HTC one s has been majorly upgraded it runs ics and sense 4 ( sense 4 is infinitely better than touchwiz if for no other reason the fact that touchwiz5 can be flashed as a zip onto the one s) with no worries to the one s out of the box so you get best of both worlds) has an awesome 4.3 in 900 by 560 screen res but easily a one handed device due to the thin design. Has an amazing camera a great dual core 1.5 MHz thingy ma bob (not the most tech specific term) and i could definately see the smoothness was comparable to the one x's and the gs3 but it has no expandable memory or access to battery. Oh and a HUUUUGGGE plus is that the one s has an alpha cm10 build already. So pretty much the s one is better than the s2 in every thing except for storage, price, and nfc. Seems like a no brainer right! Its just that with a 2 yr contract the one s is $150 vs the gs2's wapping 0 dollars. I could wait for the price to drop but it was at 50$ back in April when I couldn't upgrade so I doubt the price will drop that much. I feel like this post may have answered by own question lol.

All in all I'm happy with the phone. Dual core is awesome, the gig of ram also helps allot. love the bigger screen. And with the 16g internal and the 16g sd card I had from my sgs4g I don't think I will be worrying about storage problems for awhile lol
