Kind of one of those threads to pass time while the men behind the curtain do there thing and make us more greatness.....Just wanted to see what everyone was rocking for phones other than the A2..... Also what are you running for roms on them..... For me the A2 is my daily driver running Cm10 awaiting the new rom oops said to much lol..... Followed by Hd7 with a custom Wp7 rom I cooked up..... Then my G2x just picked this up and will most likely end up on some variation of Cm..... And last but not forgotten is my G1 retired.....

Well, as seen in my signature, I still own the A2 running CM10, but I also have the SGSIII running Slim Bean (better version and functionality than CM, in my opinion) as well as the HTC One S (which I happened to win at the Big Android BBQ) which is stock, but I plan on unlocking the bootloader (*don't hate, A2 users) and run one of their many great ROMs on it once I find the time to sit down and get in to it the way I'd like. I also have my eye on the Nexus 4, which I may get once orders start to get shipped out and the demand side catches up to the supply side. That's my story...

Running task AOKP on my sgs3. Amazing battery life. Side note, wife running supercharged leak 1 on her Atrix 2 (finally got her to update)
I have the SGS 3, and have since day 1, running the official CM10.
I still have the A2 and am still doing Dev work on it. I am running my CM10 based Liquefied Jelly Bean on it. I am planning a mid Jan release for it.

Most of my previous phones can be seen in my sig... the first real "phone" was my HTC Touch Pro 2 back in the days of windows mobile... I still miss the beautiful HTC Sense 2.1 builds on windows mobile 6.5 . I also ran gingerbread on it for awhile, which worked surprisingly well. Then there was the LG Optimus V, which I ran CM7 on. Then when I switched carriers to straight talk, I picked up a Sony Xperia X10. That was a great phone with everything I wanted: 4in screen, an excellent 8mp camera, 1ghz snapdragon CPU, a vibrant dev community... I ran CM7, Feravolt's stock-based roms, and MIUI on it. But then I got tired of the weak adreno 200 graphics and overall sluggishness of the UI... and I became intrigued by the Atrix 4G and its lapdock after one of my buddies hard-bricked one . On my original Atrix, I ran nottachtrix as well as nuetrino cm7 and jokers's cm9 for a long time... until it began to suffer from several hardware issues (particularly wifi related). That was when I replaced it with my current Atrix 2, which I have loved from the first day

Well i have a small collection of'eh ok phones
I have a sprint palm pixi (ha ha i know, it was my first smart phone, and to be honest i think webos was the best os of all time, made sence to use)
I have an iphone 3gs that my brother gave me when i switched to at&t, and she kicked it hard untill the screen died ( little ba$$tard lasted 4 yrs)
Then i got the A2, now on my third one (have one to ship back, camera shat the bed, nothin but dark, p button randomly decides to put in a p when i text and the hard buttons are on the right (landscape), recieved the new one yesterday, but it came with ics so now im a bit sad)
I have 2 iphone 4 that i got for doing computer work, one at&t, one verizon... i just recently modified my sim card to work in both my a2 and the iphone so i can use the iphone at work ( keep my precious a2 out of the saw dust ( and tethering works on the iphone and i use it a lot at work)
When at&t finnally gives me an upgrade, ill be getting either the sgiii or the nexus 4 and selling back one of the iphones so i can keep my a2 ( if the bootloader was unlocked i swear it would be an almost perfect phone, i really love it)
Thats my list

I just came from the Atrix. I thought that I would be OK running the atrix without mods(locked bootloader), but i think i went through with-drawls from CM. Motorola blows goats with their locked blootloaders. Ther stock price is down 10%
Design Gears bricked his phone, that was the final straw. I will never by a Motorola phone again
Loving it too!
Coming from Leo I have found it very similar just with more mpx and RAM/ROM
Bye physical buttons as well.
So far so good (2 days with it)
some testings have showed that browsing speed of Atrix is not faster than Inspire. Proud to own an Inspire.
I agree, it is a great phone. Had it for a week now, it was a nice upgrade from my HTC Aria.
Love this phone too. Coming from 4 years of every iPhone - finally got bored and made the jump.
At first it was like a really bad break up - thought about the iPhone 4 every single day, missed it when I would hold or caress another phone, and wanted many of the features/memories back. Now after about two months, rooting, flashing to MIUI (following weekly builds), cattleprod's Cyan04.7 Kernel, and other tweaks and mods, I'm wholeheartedly fulfilled and more ways then before. Can't imagine going back to that terrible world I was in before.
Don't get me wrong, I have an iPad 2 and wouldn't give that up for the world (or any other Android tablet) though. Apples vs oranges though.

The infuse has about 1/2 the RAM and only 200 MHz more CPU (easily in the stable OC range)
Also, the only bad thing about moving from the iPhone was the apps I had bought. It was SO easy to sync my contacts to Gmail.

Count me in on the Inspire love. I've had mine for a couple months now and find it still to be an exceptional smartphone. I haven't rooted mine but I do use custom launchers. Currently using GO Launcher EX with the GoContacts/GoDialer and continue to be amazed by this Inspire.
I can't take screenshots on my Inspire but this is exactly what it looks like from these screenshots of my HD2. The only difference is the taskbar.
Ugh this is such a hard decision but I'm honestly so tired of my atrix. Development...yeah right. Basically dead. Really wants to make me switch phones. I got offered an inspire on Craigslist and I tested one out at the att store. Top 3 for me would be inspire, sgs2, and infuse but I haven't gotten any sgs2 or infuse offers sso I'm thinking about taking up this inspire offer. Any atrix converts over here? yeah atrixs devs have been mia...how about the performance of the inspire on a rom? (cm7/miui)?
Inspire custom roms are amazing. Great battery life on almost all roms I had tried and performance as well. Personally, miui, android revolution, and coredroid are my top 3 best choice. I am currently on Android revolution. Switching back and forth at times to feel the greatness from those three roms.

The Inspire is definitely a great device. Second best on the market imo (behind the GS2, which I also use). I've owned the Inspire longer than any other device I've ever owned. You'll be good with the Inspire for a while. I found development support to be awesome. I can't even part ways with my Inspire, even though it's not my main device right now. I'm still using it as I would a tablet (wifi browsing, games, updating Google Calendar events, etc.).
As P00t said, Inspire and DesireHD roms are amazing. My top three would be Android Revolution, CoreDroid and CM7, though I haven't tried MIUI because I used to have an iPhone and that is what the screenshots reminded me of. Mike and his ARHD team do an amazing job of answering questions or pointing you in the right direction. Sergio and his CoreDroid team has an amazing website and layout to answer any questions. Sigurd_LU has an amazing theme that works flawlessly with ARHD and should work on other Sense roms.

I AM an Atrix convert and i have to say i don't think i will be replacing/upgrading my Inspire for quite a while. The Atrix just ended up being to darn small and had a cheap feeling because of the plastic that was used. The dual core support is more non existent than it should be as well.
The roms for the Inspire are great - for me i love MIUI (a little slow at times), Virtuous Unity 2.39 (smooth and includes Sense), and Cyanogenmod 7 ( smooth and you have a TON of customizations).
Not to mention the Inspire forum has the best contributors i have had the privilege to receive advice from.
In short, go with the Inspire you will be happy that you did.
+1 on Get the Inspire!
The phone itself is great (physically) and with all the roms and apps, you can't go wrong! For sense rom Rcmix Runny is just wow. I'm now running with Stardroid Ranger (based on CM7) - AOSP (my first) and loving it.

I am an atrix convert, and I don't regret letting it go at all. The atrix devs would make a rom and never update them and everything was just themed stock roms. IMO inspire is the place to be, sure it's not dual core but nothing is utilizing a dual core processor, besides the inspire is plenty fast with quadrant scores around 2500. Atrix qhd screen was so pixilated and the inspires screen is pretty vivid not to super amoled standards but still alot better than qhd. Every time you look in the inspire development section you find something new or updated. Inspire is the way to go. On paper it wouldn't seem like it but just from everyday use it blows the atrix out of the water.

I had an Atrix. "HD" screen sucked, camera sucked, it just sucked.
Inspire has amazing screen and camera! I'm usually using MIUI 75% of the time and CM7 the other 25%.

I was offered a brand new galaxy note, and I am very tempted, I don't want to be, and but my geek self and love for big phones can't help it.
Basically just wanting to come firm once we get source will think some cm9, and aokp, and miui, be running 100%.

Really depends on what you want. I currently own both devices and dev for the note. The one x is a better phone in my opinion in all aspects. If the one x had the same screen as the note I'd sell my note in a heartbeat. No source is needed for good cm9 or aokp. I traded my galaxy note for the one x and I do miss the screen size of the note but love the one x so much more it's the little features that make me love it like being able to forward my text and email to my work phone right out the box and the camera on the one x is to me the best camera on any phone and to me the one x just seems to run smoother and I have not even rooted mine I have had it for about 2 weeks and love just running stock that's just my 2 cents

Once we get Kernel Source It will be all over. I see great things ahead for this device. No way would swap it for a Note.
you posted in a htc one x forum, of course we will say no... lol
I just got the One X last week and I'm loving it. I switched from Sprint to AT&T, so my choices were between the Note and One. They're both awesome and I was very tempted by the large screen, but in terms of performance the One X wins hands down. And my inner geek forced me to go for performance.
(Of course, I run xmonad on my laptop for the performance over beauty rationale too. lol)
BTW, I just flashed CM9 alpha5 and it's pretty sweet so far.
I switched from a note to a hox (on day 30!) And I don't regret it at all. The screen size was nice and the pen was fun but I'm really liking the one x. I came from an iPhone and had no clue what Android was about. The guy who was helping me when I initially got the note recommended the one x but all I could think about was the big screen of the note. I'm glad I had those 30 days for the exchange!
I have both devices and don't get me wrong, the big screen is kinda cool but it doesn't touch the One X. If I had to choose it would be the One X all the way.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
If AT&T's note had the Exynos and not the S3 it would have been a tougher decision for me. Thankfully the S3 is pretty weak so I never even considered getting it. I haven't been happier about a phone purchase before. I love my HOX more than I loved my E4GT (one of the best phones ever), and even more than I loved my OG EVO 4G, and that says an awful lot.
I have made up mind, staying with the HOX. Cm9 is coming along nice, and I have done lots of reading the hox will keep me happier.
Thanks everyone.

After hearing about the Nexus S getting JB I've been wondering if any other older phones will be getting official JB or prospects are looking good for a stable thrid-party port. I can't afford a SGSII or even a Galaxy Nexus right now...

Youre right I should look around, gonna go through the JB port announcements on the main XDA site. The Captivate will certainly be an option to consider along the Nexus S.
EDIT:Seems Motorola Defy has a rather advanced port.
you can get the moto defy also, has a pretty decent CM10 and it can be got for cheap also
HTC Desire HD seems to have a advanced JB port.
The HD2 has a fairly good port, with everything but YouTube working. I don't think HWA is working either but I haven't really checked much, I'm still using CM9 until something better is released.
Captivate is very inexpensive and the Remic port of JB is working great
Edit: Nevermind, wrong forum. Too many open tabs. I know, very noob...

Get the Captivate only if you don't need or care about gps. I had one, and gps never worked properly. But it was a decent phone otherwise.
My captivate had great gps but I did see a lot of crappy GPS cappys

Google takes care of Nexus devices itself and that's what makes these devices great. No wonder Nexus S received JB update.
The vibrant has good ports.

Do you think that JB can be used with "only" 512 MB of RAM ?

lol don't get phones with unofficial ports. Get ones that have a port made using official drivers.
Jelly Bean looks great
The galaxy s family has a good ICS and JB ports.

Samsung vibrant almost instantly gets roms ported from the Nexus S, loved having that phone for that purpose. I still have it but retired it upon upgrading to hercules
i think the development of JB for DHD is quite good in progress...
Hey Guys,
It's been an awesome time using my myTouch 4G, but it looks like I am going to officially retire this phone. For the longest time, I have been looking for the best ROM rocking the latest Android, but let's face it, this phone is no longer capable of functioning to my preferences having solid stability.
I have now been looking for a cheap $150 phone (I am a college student) so I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007URA092) for $139.99, not a bad price for what comes with the phone. So far, this phone runs great, I might consider rooting it, but might wait it out for a few months for now.
Anyways, huge thanks to all the dev's out here for creating some rocking ROMs! This community is awesome, and hope it remains this strong for a long time.
Cheers,
Darkgiant

Sorry for the super late reply, I like the Moto G, but it is not worth it IMO.
I prefer a phone that has the ability to hold an external SD card versus having all internal. I personally work for a software company, and I get the stance of having everything accessible by cloud, but I will be quite honest, we are not yet at a phaze where we can start securely uploading all of our files up in the cloud. Either way, I love my new phone, installed AOKP Jelly Bean, and it is rocking. If anyone is curios, it is the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, it is similar to the S2 (1.5 GHz dual core, etc, 5MP Camera, 4 inch screen, etc...), its a small rocking phone overall.
