I have charged my dock with the tablet and without the tablet and i rebooted like a million times, but my eee pad keeps saying my dock battery is 0%... Even after two nights charging.
Is it a well know problem? Software or hardware related? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
P.s. the dock led light keeps flashing orange with long bursts while charger is connected.
While tablet is in use and im not charging, it keeps flashing orange in short bursts, i dont know if this helps in anyway.

Sounds like the dock has a fault mate Those charging lights are when the battery is at 0% so it is not receiving any charge.

Aah no! I have my tf700 for Less than two months now! Any way, thanks for the fast reply. I will see if i can use my warrenty.
Just to be sure. The fault is in the dock, so it doesnt matter my eee pad is unlocked right?

Well if you are getting the orange flashing light when trying to charge whilst undocked then it is a problem with the dock itself.

it's weird that is has to do that to charge
If shut down after plugging in, it will remain off and still charge.
Every phone and tablet I've ever owned turned on when you plug in the charger. No need to worry.

Mine does the same thing, it is normal. I just have to remember to leave it on, plug it in, and then turn it off when I charge it over night.

Yeah me too. Every phone I've had wouldn't boot up, and the xoom stays off when charging? Also it has an led indicator as well. Not a big deal to be missing that with the tf, but how do you (previous poster) know that it charges after a shut down? I believe you and im sure the battery is indeed charging. Where are your credentials sir? Lol.

Mine does that too. It's kind of annoying.
I always turn off and charge my tablet at night. If I forget and turn my tablet off before I connect the charger, I have to stay there and wait for it to boot up then shut it down again.
NORMAL.
My Nook Color does it, my Archos 101 did it, my Droid X does it.
I have this odd issue with my keyboard unless im just mistaken. the flashing red light on the left side means low battery correct? Well unless I'm wrong, either my keyboard is just confused or the battery life is horrible. for example, just about 45 minutes ago I took my keyboard off of the charger, fully charged and green light, and now the light is flashing. My onscreen battery status says my battery is completely full. I have only let my keyboard fully die a couple times when I first got it, but I mean now I will use it for probably an hour after it starts flashing before I plug it up and its still not dead. I usually fully charge my tablet and keyboard dock separtely. Does anyone have this problem or know what's going on?

I have no specific answer but let us know if you are stock all the way, rooted stock, or custom rom. Also check out your dock firmware version when connected. It will be in settings. Check that version with what Asus says is current. Try upgrading/downgrading etc. to see if it resolves it.

So, I went out on a limb, and purchased the tablet from OfficeMax.
Tried to power on, and nothing. I charged it for a half hour, and the charge icon on screen flashed for a second, then nothing.
Office max rep says it won't even boot until after 8 hours of charging. I just think it's unusual, since all my other android devices will at least show the charging icon.
Am I being wazzed? Or do I really have to charge or this long to get an initial response?
I do have the dock, haven't opened it, should I exchange this tablet, or is this normal for Asus?

Main thing is that you confirmed that the device doesn't even boot until after a charge. First android device I've ever had that did that.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Yep. I made the mistake of letting my tablet run completely down until it shut off. I let it sit for awhile before putting it on the charger. All of the devices I've had in the past would boot after being on the charger for a few minutes......well not my tf300t. It had to sit on the charger for a good 45 minutes to an hour before it would reboot.
I was tripping out and thought my tablet had died on me. Lmao. Kinda strange that out of all the devices I've had, only this tablet requires a significant charge before it will boot up. Oh well, it is what it is. At least it booted up.
Just wanted to add that my tablet also booted right up when i took it out of the box. Guess it had a decent charge still on it from the factory.

It will most likely be the USB cable. Order a new sync cable and I'm confident that will resolve your problem.

Ahh this is another issue altogether, seen a few threads relating to this issue of dock stuck at 0%, dock should normally say 3% charge, there are methods/ ideas on fixing it, ull have to do some googling. as i dont have time atm (hint: http://www.transformerforums.com/) good luck.
If your dock battery went completely flat, there is a chance that a switch inside the dock changed state to disable dock battery charging.
Why it does this, I have no idea. But if you think you can handle opening the dock (2 screws under the back feet then slowly snap it apart from one of the back corners) and look for a switch to toggle. I am pretty sure it is the only toggle switch inside the dock.
I've got the same problem... I'll probably open it up at some point but before I do does anyone know if this could be a firmware issue? I got my tf101 and immediately started flashing stuff on it and didn't even check to see if I was running ICS. I know that there was a dock firmware update that came with ICS and I'm curious if this issue is related.

I opened the I very done all instructions still not charging I think it is broken forerver
I have the same problem. But I found out the dock Battery connector & the pad Battery connector is the same so I remove both connector. use the pad to charge up the dock Battery. Finally saw 1% on my dock Battery after 5 min. Hope that everything goes well.

Edit. After charging overnight when connect back still in 0% state. Look like it will remain 0% forever.
I am having the same issue with the base not charging the tablet AND I am also have an issue where the SD card is not recognised by the OS.
Did you have the same issue with the SD card reader?

I've had a look and can't find anything specifically matching my issue...
I've recently acquired a Tab 2 7.0 off eBay, and I've updated it from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2, the official upgrade. The Tab is stock and unrooted. I've been using the original travel charger to charge it (5v, 2A). There is no issue with charging, and the Tab discharges normally, it lasts about two days per charge.
My problem is that while the device is unplugged, there is a red 'x' on the battery. So the device for some reason thinks it's charging, but not getting enough power. In actual fact, because it is unplugged, it is getting NO POWER. With GSAM Battery Monitor installed, GSAM advises "Charging: Time to Full: Calculating - check back later".
There is no other issue with the Tab. Any idea what this might be, and if I can repair it myself?
Thanks for your help...
I did not have this kind of issue with my Tab since one year.
I think you should factory reset your tab which will solve your problem.

I have an original Galaxy Tab as well, so I will swap around the leads. As I say, there's no issue with charging, it's just the battery symbol when the Tab 2 is discharging. And it doesn't give me an estimate of time left before the battery drains.
I've already factory reset the Tab, but may try that again if there is no other way in a day or two...
Thanks for your suggestions.

OK I said that because my friend have same problem and I use the charger and cable from other tab and the X gone.

Even stranger...
When I plug the cable into the Tab, even though it is unattached to a power source, the red x disappears.
Then when I unplug it, the x returns.
To be clear, the cable is detached from the plug and carrying no power, at this point.
I tried a factory reset, no joy. I did try wiping the cache while in recovery but got an error.

Thanks, that would be a shame. As I bought it cheaply off of eBay, it's probably not under warranty any more, so I would have to pay Samsung for the fix - which kind of negates the benefit of the cheap deal from eBay...
Ohh.
I was also suffered from display issue out of the box fault.
My tab display is blinking very fast at 50% or less britness.
I requested to replace and give new but they did not give new and replace only display even though problem was not solved.
Finally i forgot that i have that kind of problem... Haha
