[Q] TF700T Version 10.6.1.14.8 - Unlocking, Flashing? - Asus Transformer TF700

Hey Guys,
I have been reading on the forum about unlocking, and ROM changing, I'm not new to Android, have a galaxy S2 with ReVolt 4.3 ROM - JB 4.2.2, but my TF700T already is updated to the latest version (10.6.1.14.8) and at least where I have been reading, the unlocker from Asus doesn't work on JB, and the NvFlash won't work after a certain version of the bootloader.
SOOOOOOOOO
Am I screwed? Is there a way to downgrade the version / bootloader so I can unlock and use NvFlash? I can't stand this horrible stock, slow, laggy ROM, so I'm really interested in a way to put my hands on Cromi-X ROM, or others.
Thanks for the help, sorry if my research on the forum was not deep enough to find out what I need.

I believed that you still can use unlock tool from Asus to unlock your device.
No, you can use NvFlash with the latest version.

I went to Asus website, here is what I found:
http://www.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/ASUS_Transformer_Pad_Infinity_TF700T/#support_Download_32
"Unlock Device App: Unlock boot loader(Only works with TF700T ICS OS)
Notice:

This thread is about unlocking, but it is old (doesn't say about ICS or JB): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1795156
Hummmm so I misunderstood this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833212, you can't use NvFlash on version 9.4.5.30 update, but newer version it does work? I would like know for sure, not interested on a bricked device hehe.

First, I have not read anywhere that people hard brick their devices with the Asus unlock tool. Either you can unlock it or have problem to unlock it.
Second, people reported that they have unlocked their devices on JB. However, it is always good to do some researches before doing anythings to be safe with. Good luck.

Good work so far! It's not easy to sift through all the info out there, especially if some of it is hopelessly outdated
NVflash: forget about it. You could get NVflash pre-.30 version of the rom and bootloader. Once you were .30 or higher - no way to do it. You're going to have to do it without a net
Asus website says the Unlock tool works only on ICS, but has been used by countless users to unlock on JB 4.1 as well as 4.2. Go ahead, try it and kiss your warranty good bye (you do know that you loose it, don't you?).
I summarized the rest of the procedure here recently:

Thanks, you just killed the main questions I had, and gave me a quick but really good tutorial hehe.
CROMI-X installed, now I'm deciding if I use Apex or Stock Asus launcher, I have Apex on my S2, so I'm giving a shot on the tablet. I know it is taste, have any indication? I'm willing to try some more.
Already saw a huge speed improvement and responsiveness on the tablet, liking it a lot =D
My digging already provided me more knowledge on android, just by reading some links on the involved posts I found going link to link, but here I found something that got my attention and why not have your opinion on it, the Data2SD MOD, where you format your SDCard to be the /data of the system, I have a 64Gb Class 10 Sandisk card, do you consider this MOD really worth it? If I understood it, the memory inside the TF700 would just store the android OS, all the rest (App + App Data + User Data) would be on the SDCard? Because I usually search before asking I don't have posts enough (yet!) to post on dev section, if you have some more detailed info about this please share it.
On more thing, on my S2 I used CWM and formatted all the partitions (wanted a full clean-up before going from one rom (4.0.4) to another(4.2.2)), is there a way to do it on the TF700 / TWRP ? I was navigating around some folders and found more stuff and some repeated folders around, would like to clean all that is not necessary.
Thanks a lot for the help.

Good, glad you got it going!
Reg Data2SD: As far as I understand, what it does is use your sd card to write processes into memory instead of the much slower internal memory on the TF700. Important: we are talking about memory, or ram here, not storage. The slow memory is the weakest point of this tablet.
It used to speed up the TF700 quite a bit, but has always caused lots of problems with and during installation, when moving to a new rom, you're restricted which kernel you can use.......
Ever since CromiX 4.5 or so it does not seem to give you much if any performance improvement anymore. Most regulars in the CromiX thread have given up on it, I always felt it's more headache than I want to deal with.
Yeah, you can do all sorts of wipes in TWRP. From the main screen choose Wipe.
If you want to do a clean install, choose "advanced wipe" and select everything except your external card. That will wipe your whole system. You better have the rom you want to install on your microSD if you wipe System .
You will have to re-install your apps, set up Google account etc.
I have not had problems when I restored user apps and data from Titanium Backup. But it's not recommended to restore any system data.
You probably won't get rid of the duplicate folders though. The file system in JB 4.2 is driving me nuts. Since they added multi-user support everything is less than intuitive.
Thinking of it: My data in sdcard/emulated/0 did not get wiped during my last clean installation.
Maybe the "Wipe Data" option in TWRP does it? IDK

You consider it worth the trouble?
The internal memory is really slow for what is saying on the topic, aside of the android system it isn't worth store anything on this memory, do you know how I can benchmark my internal memory?

I don't know, it's not so much trouble when you have been using Linux on the desktop for 10 years.
I use it as a directly runnable backup and for development purposes - my pre-init script auto-detects the card and uses it only if present. So I have two completely separate data environments (apps, app data, settings) that I can switch by rebooting.
Many users found that disabling fsync in the kernel is a good enough workaround for the bad random write performance of the internal storage. Other I/O operations are sufficiently fast anyway.

The latest incarnation of my Data2SD script uses the internal memory for /sdcard (but you can still use the other version if you want). For benchmarking, you can try e.g Androbench, or search the Play store.

Hehehe yeah, you are really used to the unix world.
Have to say that your idea / implementation is really good, you have two system's data, I have to say that I will consider this, when I start developing, studying java once more, don't remember nothing from college -_-, true is I never liked it, but QT is not 100% reliable on Android yet, and I'm thinking on a commercial appliance...
I was considering it "trouble" because it will take some time at first, I want to find a formatting tool that doesn't need to be burned on a CD, do you know any one? It can be from the linux world too, I'm not sure, but I think I can do it from a VM I have here.
The concept is not that terrible, "basically" it just do a symbolic link to trick the system.
One question, if you do a titanium backup from the actual data + apps (I'm using CROMI-X and will continue to use it), and them try to restore it after the symlink is done, will TB be able to restore it at the new place (SD Card), or it will recreate it all at the original location? I'm not wanting to install all the apps again.
I'm not sure if I disabled fsync on CROMI-X installation, is there a way to check it?
Will benchmark when I get home.
Thanks!

The mount-data2sd.zip script will mount the microSD card as /data, so any following backup/restore operations will be directed to the card.

Code:

Code:
echo 0 > /sys/devices/virtual/misc/fsynccontrol/fsync_enabled
To make it permanent, you have to write it into a startup script in /system/etc/init.d.

One thing I noticed, if the tablet start's updating a app from google play it just get monster slow, so I will try the mount-data2sd for sure, this tablet has the power to run always smoothly.
Will backup and do it, when I have results I come back here hehehe (or when I face a hard to solve problem).

[Q] CWM,Vegan, etc What order do I do these things?

(I've spent a long time reading and I don't want to waste your time, so if the answers to this have been posted before please just tell me to keep searching.)
New G tablet arrives in 3 days. I have very little tech knowledge, but I enjoy the journey. Would someone mind please putting the following in the CORRECT order for me?
1. Fully charge G tab and turn it on
2. Install Titanium Backup on G tab (is this done like I would install an app on an iphone, or do I download to my PC and move it to the g tab?)
3. Backup stuff (everything)? To where? My PC?
4. Install clockwork as per instructions here (I think I'll use G tab's internal SD card)
5. Use clockwork to repartition internal SD card (2048 and 0)
6. Use clockwork to delete data and cache
7. Install Vegan 5.1 as per instructions here.
8. Install Flah and Market capability as per instructions here.
9. Install ADW launcher (not sure what this is, but it looks good on youtube). How do I install it? Is it like an iphone app installation, or...?
10. Some of the posts I've read mention a need for a file browser. Do they mean on my PC, or on the G tab? How do you get one on the G tab? Through Market?
11. Calibrate touch screen as per instructions here.
12. Anything I've forgotten?
Thanks for your help and understanding for a complete novice.
This has all been posted before as you thought.
I would not worry about backing up when you first get it as there will be nothing really on it but the stock rom.
if you goal is to load a Rom like TNT or Vegan from day one.
Root
Clockwork Mod
load Rom
and away you go.
There are directions all over the place to the above.
Once you get the rom loaded and all setup then get titanium backup installed and do a backup. Save yourself hours and pay for the pro version, it will allow you to run batch backup/restores and not touch your tablet while it runs.
Hope that helps now go read and search while you await your Gtab and have FUN! that is what it is all about.
Chances are you wont even have to root first.

This is my first Android device but I'm good with PC's.
Anyway, I fired it up from new installed clockwork, did the partition 2048,0 as suggested and for me installed tnt-lite and all is good. It was probably stock for about 10 minutes of its life.
Thanks Stuggy. That's what I'll try (except with Vegan, I think).

For some reason I had to root first when I installed the update after the 3389 update. I think it was just me but it was just another step. Installed z4root, got root, and moved on
Thanks badfrog.
Just to give you an idea where I'm at.....I had no idea what 3389 is so I searched for it. Many pages came up, but they all assume a certain level of background knowledge that I don't have. Please tell me, is 3389 the ROM that comes with the G tab?
If so, why would you be updating that if you had a different ROM already installed (Vegan, TNTlite, etc)?
Other pages I've seen have said that installing Vegan or TnTlite IS rooting, whilst still other pages have said that installing clockwork mod is rooting? Is this correct?
I can't find out what rooting actually means because every page I find assumes the reader already knows what rooting is. I will keep searching for a site for android dummies (and stop wasting your time).
rooting a device is basically changing system permissions so that you have full access to read, write and manipulate all files on the device. In Linux if you are root you have total control over the system. I believe that I read somewhere that the GTab is already set so that you have total control. Other devices you would use an app like z4root and it would change the security settings so that you had root access.
hmmm....the plot thickens. Thanks Sm0k3d 0ut, I'm looking forward to confirmation of that to clear up my confusion!

Thanks copc. I also read somewhere that backing up can be done with Clockwork. Is that true? If so, does a novice like me really need titanium backup?
Also, one more question: in case I ever want to restore to the stock ROM that the G tab comes with, do I need to do anything special BEFORE I install Clockwork and the new ROM? Or can I just change back to original no matter what I do now?
(G tab arrives tomorrow. Can't wait!)

I still haven't received my Zpad yet, so can't talk from experience. But from what I have read it seems that titanium backup backs up the apps (and maybe data?) and clockwork makes a ROM image of you Tablet (or something similar to that). So I think they are different types of backups and you should probably do both.
But I could be horribly wrong.

You are spot on, Titanium Backup allows you to back up and restore individual apps and data (you can also use it to sideload apps you have already installed on another Android device). CW will make a backup of your entire system (internal SDCard) so you can restore if something goes awry.

1,4,5,7,8, and 11 in that order will get you in business. Titanium Backup should be installed after you get Vegan installed, as there is really nothing to back up in stock. Data and cache will be deleted as part of the partitioning process (that's how I've understood it), and a file browser is already installed with the Vegan image. #9 is just fluff, ADW is a great launcher, but is not necessary to get up and running. If I recall correctly, it will install like an app - you should be able to find it in the Market.
#12 - Though it is not necessary, Root Explorer is a real handy app to have if you are going to tear around with Android's inner workings. Less than $5 on the market, but I found it worth every penny so far.
You will find many different thoughts on the process laid out above, this is just worked for me when I was starting out. The most important thing is Clockwork. Do. That. First.

I did mine (CW .8 and TNTLite) from a 256MB card, and there was still plenty of room - a 128MB card should do you fine. In fact, if you are doing it from a PC (I can't confirm for Mac as I don't have one), you can install CW off of the card, use CW to partition the tablet storage, connect the tablet to your PC, and then use CW to mount the tablet as USB storage so you can copy over the ROM image to the tablet and install.
As far as CW, use the .8 version. I have heard of problems from others using newer versions, and it seems that .8 is what the devs recommend. You can find a link to it in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245

Welcome to MOD-dom, it's awesome.

My unofficial increasing the ram thread

I have been on this kick trying to figure how to increase my ram by either reformatting an sd card or just making the most out of the factory ram. I am using the app ram boost and it says i have usually around 600-700 free ram memory right after i clear all the processes. I did download the app debloat so i can delete the apps but it backs them up automatically. I went through and deleted the obvious apps but honestly dont know what alot of them are or what they do. Lets bounce ideas around for increasing the ram.
Why would you need more free RAM? Android is good at RAM management: the less free RAM, the better. It's not only about numbers and synthetic tests, what a device feels like is much more important.
Trimis de pe ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T
What do you gain from persistently having loads of free RAM? It's there to be used.
And as vap mentioned, Android has good ram management. It'll clear processes to free up more RAM when it needs to.
My biggest beef with this tablet is when im downloading something it completely slows the whole tablet down. Almost to the point where i can even use it

That is not due to RAM, it is and I/O problem that has haunted ASUS in their devices. It seems the internal disk is crap and/or software issues. I can tell you that the JB update made Writing and Reading speeds of the internal disk a bit faster maybe around 40% faster than in ICS, still it doesn't compare to other devices.
There are a couple of workarounds, for example tweaking the kernel, using custom kernels and even making a Class 10 Ultra Sandisk MicroSD as your "internal sdcard" (that is tweaking the pad into thinking the external is internal). Most of this tweaks were started in the Prime forums, and were tailored for the kernel version we all had before JB update.
Hopefully when the prime gets the JB update we will see new work on the new kernel.
Take a look at this threads (remember these probably won't work on the new kernel and were made for the Prime so try at your own risk):

I put a post on here asking how to make the external sd work as the internal, so im glad you posted that. For whatever reason my tablet doesn't pic up the jb yet so i haven't updated. But ill check out those sites you posted. Thanks alot.
Being that i have to deal with code i am assuming i need a computer to do those three things on my tablet correct?

only for the sdcard swap thingy, the other two post are discussing the same thing. You just need to download the latest atp apk and select siomschedule from the list making sure it has a check mark then select sio from drop down menu and check the two boxes on the top, reboot and you are done.

Alright that sucks. I just tried to download the apk file and it opened up in my adrozip program when i have root explorer designated for opening files. So i exited out and root explorer wouldn't open. Saying i don't have root access. I go to root checker and it confirmed im not rooted anymore. I go to my voodoo root keeper and it says i am rooted but i dont have root permission. Whats the deal?

Download and run SuperSU then re run ota root keeper and check. If that doesn't work try rebooting and check again.

[Q] Paranoid newbie questions re replacement ROM

I have a Galaxy Gio GT-S5660V (Australia) with a 16GB SD card, having (currently) a 500MB ext2fs partition in addition to the FAT32 partition. I've rooted the phone with universal_gb_root_v20.zip and moved everything that can be moved to the SD card.
But I have installed some 42 additional apps (on top of those that came built-in), and despite uninstalling some built-in apps (using Titanium Backup Root Pro), am forever running out of storage. To the extent that I now can't update some storage-intensive apps (like Google Maps).
I know this is a developers' forum, and I'm not a developer. But it looks like the best place to come for the advice I need. I'm a raw beginner (this is my first and, so far, only smartphone), and am fearful of doing something to the phone that would reduce its usefulness or (worse) stop it working completely. So because the solution to my problem probably involves replacing the stock ROM code with a 'special' ROM, and those ROMs are so poorly documented, I have heaps of questions before I'm confident to proceed.
I've read the 'Big thread For New Users (Rooting, Flashing, Firmwares, Mods, Tips, Tricks)'. I've installed Odin 4.42, and think I understand how to download a new ROM to the phone (but of course haven't tried it yet!!). I looked for a GT-S5660V specific forum, but couldn't find one.
1. If I install a custom ROM, what happens to all the built-in apps that came with the phone? [Some of these are vital to me!] Obviously the basic phone/SMS/data, Bluetooth and WiFi functions must continue to operate correctly.
2. What happens to all the additional apps I've bought and installed?
3. I don't especially want to change the 'look and feel' of my phone. I just want to free up internal storage by using the SD card as an 'extension' to internal storage, so I can continue adding and updating apps without running out. So which ROM is likely to achieve this on the GT-S5660V (I'd particularly like to hear from any Australians who have ROMmed their GT-S5660V with this feature, since I've read warnings about ROM versions that are for the GT-S5660 but NOT the GT-S5660V)?
4. In case the custom ROM doesn't work for me, how do I backup my current ROM so I can reinstall it?
Sorry for the long (and paranoid!) post, and I hope someone here can help me. Many thanks.
PS: I enjoyed the 'Noob Video' - very professionally made!

The only thing you'll have are what comes with the ROM you flash. That, of course, includes phone/SMS/data, Bluetooth and Wifi. If you run Astro (the free version is enough) you can save an apk file of any app you absolutely need, just to be sure it's available after you flash a ROM. (Then install Apk Installer, and it can install the apk file in the new ROM.)

See #1. You should have the apk files for all the apps you need (free, paid and original) saved to your laptop/desktop or somewhere.

The look and feel is the apps. The "desktop" is the launcher. You may find some that you actually like better than the stock one.

With CM you can use up to 1GB on the SD card as internal storage. (Making the partition larger than 1GB in CM seems to cause problems. There's at least one ROM that can take a larger partition, but there's no version for your phone.)

NEVER flash a ROM that's not for your specific phone. At best it won't work. At worst you won't be able to recover the phone and you'll have to buy another one.

Use Nandroid backup in the recovery boot. (And save the backup to your computer - the SD card will get wiped.)

I had Astro File Manager before, but uninstalled it when I started running short of storage, as I didn't think it offered anything that I couldn't do with ES File Explorer and Titanium Backup Pro. Do I really need to reinstall it, or will the backups from Titanium Backup do?

I believe Titanium Backup Pro backs up user apps and data, so once I reinstall Titanium with the new ROM, I should be able to recover my previous apps, yes?

I'm guessing that 'CM' is CyanogenMod? I'm still looking for a version specifically for the GT-S5660V. It worries me (I really am paranoid! ) that so many versions are 'unofficial', and so poorly documented.

This is what worries me most, as there are very few ROMs and such specifically made for the GT-S5660V – quite a few for the 'generic' Gio (GT-S5660), but few for the 'V' specifically. I read somewhere that the main difference is probably in the 3G frequencies used in Australia, and that some people had tried a 'generic' Gio ROM and lost some of their telephone functionality. Some mention of flashing the Modem code separately, but that just confuses me more!

I looked up Nandroid backup, and it seems to get this I need to install ClockworkMod Recovery. ROM Manager is also recommended as an adjunct, so I've already installed v5.0.2.0 of that. Just need to find a GT-S5660V version of ClockworkMod Recovery now! I guess since it doesn't affect telephone functionality, a version for the generic Gio should be OK, such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650
It's so confusing for a beginner like me, with so many different versions around!
But I really appreciate your help so far, and hope you can continue to enlighten me.

Storage Swap

Hi, i'm facing some problems with the swapping i did (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857391)
I honestly don't know what to do, i'm not very good at these things. I tried it twice on my samsung galaxy note 10.1 and both times the swap is sucessful BUT it still saves in the internal.... I'm running stock kernel if you need more information you can ask. Oh and I did it with script manager
Please, help me. I really need the space
(using Sandisk ultra class 10 64 gb)

Give it time. Not everyone checks XDA on an hourly basis.
So when you run the script it moves everything and does what it should? But then you get new apps and they continue to install on internal?

Did you happen to read anywhere that it needs to be run again when adding new apps? Like it only moves them the one time and it's not like a setting that future apps go to sd.

If i understood corectly, I didn't read anything like that but i made the script (via script manager) executable and to run at boot. It should just install in the external without boot or anything else needed.
I read on other forums about other devices that the easiest way to swap internal with external is by modifying your vold.fstab, but the mine is really wierd (I can post it if needed) , it's not like the other peoples devices. Maybe its that way on all SG note 10.1 because no one else has done it on the note 10.1.
Maybe I should flash a new rom? Like omega? I really don't know
So, I understood what I was doing wrong. I had updated the version of my device and the script wasnt compatible with JB. Though I have a quick question for anyone. Now that I used the one for JB and swapped the internal with external when i download a game for example Iron man (which is 800MB) a small part (around 10MB) goes in the internal, that happends with all games (some even take more 15MB or so). Is that normal?
EDIT: Nah, it still fully installs in the internal, swap is still sucessful though, at least it shows so.... Maybe if I can go back to ICS?

New Builder Question

This should probably go in some general Q&A forum, but this is by far the most helpful community I've come across so I wanted to try here first. I've finally got my Ubuntu box up and running again (upgrading to 14.04 wasn't pretty) and was able to build for both my 700t and my n5 without error, but I'm afraid to pull the trigger and flash it. I'm building straight CM for the tablet and AOSP for the phone, so what is the worst that could happen? I haven't gotten either of them to run in the emulator, but I'm not completely sure that is even possible. Any insight you may have would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Just thought of this, since I'm running Crombi ROM2SD, could I just install my zip on external, and then refresh the right kernel?

The worst thing that can happen is that you brick your device, but you must do something sufficiently stupid for that to happen. I can't say anything about your phone, but for the TF700T, as long as you have a working recovery, flashing a ROM won't brick it. You may want to create the nvflash blobs if you want to have another safety net - it is possible to brick the TF700T if you force it to boot to the recovery and the recovery is broken.

That's normal - ARM devices are just too different, and the emulator is just another different device.

See my Android dual-booting thread in the dev subforum. I originally developed ROM2SD to be able to test my self-built ROMs without breaking my working installation.

Thanks _That, I appreciate your help! After reading your post and the f2fs post, i thought i was in the clear, but i still managed to screw something up. i'm unable to get the tablet to boot off of external, regardless of whether its my ROM or CROMBi. I see a "segmentation error" listed in the output from the the preinit, and then it always boots to internal. I thought maybe i got the mount points reversed in recovered, so i reflashed recovery, but no luck. i also tried deleting the preinit script and then reinstalling CROMBi, but i still get the same error. any thoughts?

For some unknown reason, dynamically linked executables don't work for preinit in KitKat. So if your *internal* ROM is not stock 4.2-based (I have no data about 4.3), the only way to run a preinit script is to use a statically linked busybox.
You still get that fault with a static busybox but it seems to copy files fine.
@psudeke you can compile the static busybox yourself simply with make static-busybox in your build folder - or just steal mine from /system/boot

Your fault may come from one of the programs that you call in your script (did you forget to prefix some line with "busybox"?).

it comes from the ls -l /init* which indeed doesn't have the busybox prefix but if I do it gives some other error I forget now
Anyway it doesn't harm the boot process - just an error message

Internal is the 5/17 build of Crombi, and its a brand new install. with a full format of the data partition (which in my haste to get this working yesterday, i wiped out my nandroid from right before i tried this).
is there any connection between when the internal is flashed compared to the external? in other words, if i reflash the internal rom, it should still recognize an existing external rom? hope that makes sense, i'm still shaking off the effects of a little too much whiskey last night.

No currently if you reflash internal it will only see internal. You need to reflash external for that to work.

Ahh, thanks sbdags! that fixed the issue with ROM2SD. i got that impression when i pulled the preinit and saw it only had an entry for internal. but, i'm still very much in a learning phase so i didn't want to jump to a conclusion.
and after getting crombi to boot on external, i swapped sd cards and my build of CM11 actually booted! now the real learning process begins as i figure out how to customize it.

Be careful what you wish for, I've got a laundry list of questions ranging from basic Linux commands to the nature of the multiverse, lol.
I do have one question out of the gate about the update-binary file. I'm trying to add a couple apps to either the system or data folders, but I'm not sure what commands are available from the stock CM file. I think for the most part by looking at your updater-script file I can figure out the commands to do what I want, but given the little I know about this and the size difference of the binary file between CM and the one i was looking at of yours, I'm curious. Is the best way to see what's available CM's git? I basically just want to install a different Launcher and Viper instead of DSP manager for sound. Do I need to study up on edify to look at the binary or is there an easier way?
Thanks again!

yes the easiest way to do it is just make 2 folders with your extra apps in it say /extras/app
then add the following to the updater-script (you don't need to touch the update-binary unless you start using aroma)
package_extract_dir("extras", "/system");
delete("/system/app/DSPManager.apk");
delete("/system/priv-app/Trebuchet.apk");
What that does is copies the extras/app folder into system and deletes your unwanted apps
note apps can be installed into 2 folders /system/app or /system/priv-app
similarly you can install your user apps into /data/app but this is dangerous with launchers as if the user manually uninstalls it you can't do anything on the tab

Thanks again! i can see how this becomes addicting fast :fingers-crossed:
@sbdags do I need to mount data before installing anything to the /data/app folder? I saw in your updater-script this line, and i'm assuming i need the same:
Code:
mount("f2fs", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p8", "/data");
one other quick question (hopefully), I saw in the XDA WIKI that i can possibly test the script using the update-binary, do i have to do this on the tablet itself? i spent all afternoon trying to fix a problem that amounted to an errant quotation mark in my script (and i knew it was something like that too. too many years of non-terminated string errors to not look there first:laugh, but the only way i could find to test it was to rezip the file and flash. any suggestions?
