(I've spent a long time reading and I don't want to waste your time, so if the answers to this have been posted before please just tell me to keep searching.)
New G tablet arrives in 3 days. I have very little tech knowledge, but I enjoy the journey. Would someone mind please putting the following in the CORRECT order for me?
1. Fully charge G tab and turn it on
2. Install Titanium Backup on G tab (is this done like I would install an app on an iphone, or do I download to my PC and move it to the g tab?)
3. Backup stuff (everything)? To where? My PC?
4. Install clockwork as per instructions here (I think I'll use G tab's internal SD card)
5. Use clockwork to repartition internal SD card (2048 and 0)
6. Use clockwork to delete data and cache
7. Install Vegan 5.1 as per instructions here.
8. Install Flah and Market capability as per instructions here.
9. Install ADW launcher (not sure what this is, but it looks good on youtube). How do I install it? Is it like an iphone app installation, or...?
10. Some of the posts I've read mention a need for a file browser. Do they mean on my PC, or on the G tab? How do you get one on the G tab? Through Market?
11. Calibrate touch screen as per instructions here.
12. Anything I've forgotten?

This has all been posted before as you thought.
I would not worry about backing up when you first get it as there will be nothing really on it but the stock rom.
if you goal is to load a Rom like TNT or Vegan from day one.
Root
Clockwork Mod
load Rom
and away you go.
There are directions all over the place to the above.
Once you get the rom loaded and all setup then get titanium backup installed and do a backup. Save yourself hours and pay for the pro version, it will allow you to run batch backup/restores and not touch your tablet while it runs.
Hope that helps now go read and search while you await your Gtab and have FUN! that is what it is all about.

This is my first Android device but I'm good with PC's.
Anyway, I fired it up from new installed clockwork, did the partition 2048,0 as suggested and for me installed tnt-lite and all is good. It was probably stock for about 10 minutes of its life.

For some reason I had to root first when I installed the update after the 3389 update. I think it was just me but it was just another step. Installed z4root, got root, and moved on

Just to give you an idea where I'm at.....I had no idea what 3389 is so I searched for it. Many pages came up, but they all assume a certain level of background knowledge that I don't have. Please tell me, is 3389 the ROM that comes with the G tab?
If so, why would you be updating that if you had a different ROM already installed (Vegan, TNTlite, etc)?
Other pages I've seen have said that installing Vegan or TnTlite IS rooting, whilst still other pages have said that installing clockwork mod is rooting? Is this correct?
I can't find out what rooting actually means because every page I find assumes the reader already knows what rooting is. I will keep searching for a site for android dummies (and stop wasting your time).
rooting a device is basically changing system permissions so that you have full access to read, write and manipulate all files on the device. In Linux if you are root you have total control over the system. I believe that I read somewhere that the GTab is already set so that you have total control. Other devices you would use an app like z4root and it would change the security settings so that you had root access.
hmmm....the plot thickens. Thanks Sm0k3d 0ut, I'm looking forward to confirmation of that to clear up my confusion!

Try them both, they are both great roms and you will become more comfortable the more roms you flash.

Thanks copc. I also read somewhere that backing up can be done with Clockwork. Is that true? If so, does a novice like me really need titanium backup?
Also, one more question: in case I ever want to restore to the stock ROM that the G tab comes with, do I need to do anything special BEFORE I install Clockwork and the new ROM? Or can I just change back to original no matter what I do now?
(G tab arrives tomorrow. Can't wait!)

I still haven't received my Zpad yet, so can't talk from experience. But from what I have read it seems that titanium backup backs up the apps (and maybe data?) and clockwork makes a ROM image of you Tablet (or something similar to that). So I think they are different types of backups and you should probably do both.
But I could be horribly wrong.

You are spot on, Titanium Backup allows you to back up and restore individual apps and data (you can also use it to sideload apps you have already installed on another Android device). CW will make a backup of your entire system (internal SDCard) so you can restore if something goes awry.

1,4,5,7,8, and 11 in that order will get you in business. Titanium Backup should be installed after you get Vegan installed, as there is really nothing to back up in stock. Data and cache will be deleted as part of the partitioning process (that's how I've understood it), and a file browser is already installed with the Vegan image. #9 is just fluff, ADW is a great launcher, but is not necessary to get up and running. If I recall correctly, it will install like an app - you should be able to find it in the Market.
#12 - Though it is not necessary, Root Explorer is a real handy app to have if you are going to tear around with Android's inner workings. Less than $5 on the market, but I found it worth every penny so far.
You will find many different thoughts on the process laid out above, this is just worked for me when I was starting out. The most important thing is Clockwork. Do. That. First.

I did mine (CW .8 and TNTLite) from a 256MB card, and there was still plenty of room - a 128MB card should do you fine. In fact, if you are doing it from a PC (I can't confirm for Mac as I don't have one), you can install CW off of the card, use CW to partition the tablet storage, connect the tablet to your PC, and then use CW to mount the tablet as USB storage so you can copy over the ROM image to the tablet and install.
As far as CW, use the .8 version. I have heard of problems from others using newer versions, and it seems that .8 is what the devs recommend. You can find a link to it in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245

Hey there hope this is the right place for this ... Just want to report something that has happened. I am currently unable to use the G tablet stock vanilla TnT... any clue as to why this would happen? I dont really use it anyway however should this be resolved? and would it affect the tablet in the long run if not addressed? I use Launcher pro and the tablet forces itself to that when "home" force closes. I would like to try the TnT lite however am not confident about it.
Do i need to root the device before i hold the power button and vol +? to flash the new rom ( it bugs me that this is all i have to do to put in a custom rom. it seems to easy, unless it is that easy)
Will i lose all the files, PDF's, and documents that i have on it once i flash the new rom ?
As you can see im a noob to Android. Thanks for advice and guidance in advanced and patients.
Follow the instructions in the alternate gtab firmware post. It worked great for me. I would suggest installing cwm so you can back up your existing firmware.
My update would force close during download on the stock firmware. I finally got it to work by minimizing the pop up that displayed the progress. For some reason the screen would crash the download.
Your files should be there but you will lose all user settings and installed apps when you do the factory reset.
This is a common issue with stock, and TnT Lite. The user data seems to be very unstable once you upgrade to different firmware.
The "easiest" thing to do is just wipe the user data. However, if there is certain data you need to keep, I would recommend the excellent Titanium Backup. The only caveat is that the device has to be rooted, to use it.

Tntlite is that easy I was surprised. Too since rooting my HTC hero a year and a half ago was so much more hands on

This is where all hell broke loose ....the file i wanted never downloaded.... then the pic gallery forced closed then the launcher forced closed and had to shut down now now its in bootloop....I attempted to power and vol + but nothing happened in fact got a triangle !.... what is needed now.....
LOL at the entire situation this was my fear..... please if someone with extreme patients can list or point to a noob friendly thread on what i need to do
i have a microSD card can that be used read somewhere that i may need that.....

I had a similar problem twice today (installed TnT Lite 2.02 and ran into boot loops). Here's how I recovered. Results may vary, so use at your own risk:
1. Download the vanilla restore from http://forum.tegratab.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16 (this is just to get the recovery\console file unless you want to manually create it).
2. Download the updated stock TnT from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9362168&postcount=35
3. Extract the "recovery" folder from gtab_full_vanilla_system_2010_11_09.zip downloaded in step 1.
4. In the recovery folder there is a file called "command" with no extension. Open this file with a text editor (eg. notepad) and edit the line so "SDCARD" says "SDCARD2" instead. Save it and ensure you do not add any extension. It should look like this:
--update_package=SDCARD2:/update.zip
5. Rename the "update-smb_a1002-2967-user.zip" from step 2 to "update.zip".
6. Copy the entire recovery folder with the edited "command" file from step 4 and the "update.zip" from step 5 to the root of your MicroSD card. It's important that the contents on the root of your MicroSD ends up with:
/update.zip
/recovery/command
7. Put the MicroSD in your gTablet.
8. Power on while holding the Volume Up button until you see a message regarding recovery.
9. You should see a graphic showing package box with a progress bar after a short time.
10. Wait until it completes and the unit will restart.
11. If all goes well, you should be back to stock TnT with the last OTA update.
If you are wondering why I just didn't use the gtab_full_vanilla_system_2010_11_09.zip downloaded in step 1, it's because it didn't help me. I initially used the same general method above with the gtab_full_vanilla_system_2010_11_09.zip downloaded in step 1, but my gTablet still continued to boot loop. After a fair amount of panicking and looking over all of the threads here, I found that gtab_full_vanilla_system_2010_11_09.zip added ClockWork Recovery so I was able to use this to copy over the update-smb_a1002-2967-user.zip to my internal SD, install it, and get my gTablet working again. You mind if I steal these directions? It's more detailed than the one I wrote up on my TnT Lite post. I'd like to post it there (specifically the command file, as some people have issues understanding the "SDCARD2" change).

Same here Roebeet thanks for your work...dcomm222 thanks again... So I tried to only install the TnTlite 2.0 from the microsd card, it read it, looked to have loaded it, and it went right into the bootloop again.... I really want TnT lite ......
so now i am going to try your method... fingers crossed

I had no luck trying to re-flash to 2.0X once I got in the boot loop - I couldn't get past it no matter what until I went back to stock. Once I was back at stock I could re-flash to 2.0X from the internal SD. I'm still trying to figure out what's getting me in the boot loop - everything seems to work great for a while.

GOT IT BACK!!!! geez man I was full on panic mode
have you flashed back to TnT lite back yet and how long does it last? Damn i am so tempted to go back im thinking it has something to do with what we attempted to load on the tablet ... i dont know just looking for a reason to Flash ....can this constant recovery flash do any damage to the tablet? I would like to try other Roms but dont want to mess my tablet up..
BTW i got this EUL when it rebooted especially sections 4.1 and 4.2 wtf!!! sorry about that but that is how i felt

If I remember correctly, the stock firmware with the OTA update will prompt you to accept a license and prompt to set the time, etc....
I just flashed the TnT 2.02 again. So far it seems OK, however it did the first 2 times I did it as well. I followed all of the instructions at "forum.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?p=442691#post442691" except I substituted using roeboot's TnT. Once I did it I had everything working (flash, market, etc...). Both times the boot loop happened when I tried to install or uninstall something, and both times were after a few hours of use. I tried a third time and almost instantly got into a boot loop, but I think I got ahead of myself in that try and did some things out of order. The good thing is that I was able to recover each time.
Out of curiosity, did your tablet come with a gray or green cloth to clean the screen? The reason I ask is that I thought I had seen somewhere that this might be an indication of a difference in gTablets.
The EULA shows up with a new stock firmware - and yeah 4.1 / 4.2 kinda bugged me too. I never selected "I Agree" - fark that.
As for the boot loops, it seems that we still can't pin it down - maybe it's just random, I don't know.

I was stuck after bootlooping using Cyanmod, then flashing NVflash still didnt fix the issue, this fix did it for me. Thanks for getting me back up & running. I will give another shot at using cyanmod now that I have all the files needed to get me back.
BTW< I have a green cloth. What does that mean?

My tab came with a grey cloth... funny thing though I got mine on the second wave of shipments to sears... I NEVER had any issues with the time i just set it and it kept the time... I remembered that when these first came out that was a problem... i thought mine was diff because i never had any issues with time reseting itself... anyway Thanks again dude for your help hope i could play this forward to someone more noobier than me

I now have clockwork recovery installed... How do i copy the update.zip from external microsd to internal microsd... mounting sd-ext gives an error..
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(No such file or directory)
Error mounting SDEXT:!
Frustration levels are high with this device!!

a "me too" reboot problem
I was able to install TNT Lite 2.0, then 2.11. I got Clockwork Recovery installed as well.
The market would start, but if I did a search for obvious things like "Kindle", the market would give an error that it didn't exist in the market. Thinking it was the error situation described here:

I applied those instructions, and rebooted.
Upon reboot, it ended up in a continual reboot loop.
Trying to do the start with volume+power, it brings up Clockwork Recovery, and when told to wipe data/factory reset, it stays in the reboot loop. When told to apply sdcard's update.zip, it looks only at the one on the internal sdcard, which is for CWR, and goes back into the loop.
At that point I setup a microSD with the information from this post:

including changing the line from sdcard to sdcard2. Again it doesn't recognize that the internal sdcard2 is plugged in, and attempts to mount it with CWR (mount /sd-ext) yields the error:

So, unfortunately I'm at an impasse, like the previous poster. I just bought the tablet a couple of days ago, so I'm far from expert at tweaking it into working.

PS - Bought the gtablet from Office Depot, and received a green cloth.
Boot into clockwork recovery and go to advanced and format SD, use the 2gb and 512mb I believe, then flash TNT or another rom. That fixed my boot loop.

I'm looking for some pointers on the path to 2.1 on my x10 Mini Pro, and hoping the wealth of knowledge between you all can set some things straight for me?
I'll apologise in advance if I ramble at all or don't make much sense... I've been browsing forums for hours and am suffering from mild cross-eyedness and slight brainfreeze.
The scenario;
I have an x10 mini pro, running 1.6, on Vodafone UK. Yes, the ONLY network that have not yet provided the 2.1 update for x10mp users. The phone was rooted with universal androot and also had astro file manager and titanium installed. For about three months I have had the 'starting download' hang problem in Market which I have not been able to fix. I hadn't really wasted much time on it as it was of little importance at the time however I now want to update some things and can't. Today I got annoyed and did a factory reset, hoping to resolve the problem. It didn't, and now I have a blank canvas of a phone.
I didn't back up before doing the reset as call logs and txts are of less importance that the files on my sd card, which remain untouched. I don't really have any other 'important' stuff on the phone right now.
I realised shortly after that I had a backup from December which I ran, as a last ditch attempt, this did not restore my lost applications, but did restore some user data. I noted that my root privileges and titanium were gone too
B*gger it, I thought, since I've lost all my data I may as well go for a generic NON-Vodafone installation of Android 2.1, and hopefully that will also fix the Market issue.
I've had a look on forums here and would like to run the 2.0.2.a.0.24 firmware posted by shivenjuneja.
I've downloaded this via pc, and understand I need to also install the flashtool and xrecovery, both of which I have downloaded and saved in a folder on my laptop.
Now remember, market was not an option so I've downloaded universal androot via pc too and have saved this to the root of the SD card.
With my primitive blank phone, I am unable to browse to it without a file manager, so now I need to download Astro File Manager again.
I decide to have a probably fruitless attempt of doing this via the market (because saving it on the SD card is pointless as I need it installed in order to browse to it!) and much to my amazement, it's worked!! Woohoo Market is working again! But hell, I've still lost everything on my phone so I'll perservere with my android update, thank you very much.
Ok, now while waiting for Astro to download, I remember that I've also read on the forum that the upgrade to 2.1 is likely to be stuck in a booting loop if I upgrade with user data on the phone. If I do a factory restore I will lose my file manager and root privileges that I will shortly be installing, right?
So now, at this hour, I'm wondering exactly what order I need to do everything in to get 2.1 on my phone.
To install 2.1 I need to install the flash tool and xrecovery. To install those I need root, to root I need Astro and before doing any of this I need a phone that has no user data on it.
D4mn you Vodafone.
Could anyone advise the best method to do all of the above i.e in what order to do it all, or point out if there is anything obvious I haven't accounted for.
I don't usually have a problem with this sort of thing, hopefully it will look clearer tomorrow!

Also, does registering your google login to use the Market count as 'user data' when you upgrade? I ask as I may need to download and install Astro again from the market, if it's still working after another reset?

From further reading I understand that I need busybox to install xrecovery and that I also need to be on 2.1 054 as xrecovery won't install on 1.6?

It sounded so simple initially to flash from 1.6 to the latest version of 2.1, whereas now I need this to install that, need to be on the later version to install the app I need to use to flash to the next version up, and have to have a bunch of other apps and tools installed in order to the able to run anything!
All I want is a rooted 2.1 with all the network and SE bundled crap removed, so I can start putting my phone back to how I bl00dy want it with the apps I choose!

I have a few questions and after trying the search function, I decided to start a new thread!
I am used to using Acronis True Image or Ghost on my PC, to backup entire Operating Systems. Is there anything like that for Android?
I would like to be able to backup a ROM, install another ROM, and then, if i want to, switch between them...
After installing a stock ROM again, I was surprised to see that it wasn't that bad at all...it was actually relatively quick. Why shouldn't I just remove all the crap of a stock ROM and use that instead of using a custom ROM?!

Yes inside of cwm there is a backup mode you can use. It does exactly what you mentioned just have to make sure your not hopping from a rom that's incompatible with another rom/partition etc,and you'll be fine. Other than that its your choice on how you like your phone. Me personally I would not of kept this phone without our devs on here I love their Roms and kernels. Imo

Backing up ROMs
Don't know about backing up the ROM, but you really should wipe your phone before installing a new ROM unless you KNOW otherwise. Afterall, each ROM will re-write parts of your phone's operating system. Wiping before each install will ensure you start out clean. There is a program called "Odin" that will make this an easy process. There are different versions of Odin and each one can perform different tasks, so read up on using it BEFORE you jump in head first. Odin can be used to install individual files, like kernals, or master clear your phone or it can take your phone back to stock. Most ROM devs will include in their instructions what you need to do to install ROM. Although I believe it's hard to brick the Infuse (unless you jump in head first), IT CAN HAPPEN!

Regarding restoring your programs to make it easier, Titanium Backup is probably the best at backing up your programs. Afterall, restoring ALL your programs can cost you alot of time if you don't have a program like the ones you use on your PC.
Note that you must pay for the Pro Titanium Backup to be able to use the "Batch" feature. The batch feature will allow you to reinstall selcted programs automatically without any interaction. Without "Batch", you will have to keep pushing the install button for every program you want to reinstall THE PRO VERSION IS WELL WORTH THE SMALL AMOUNT YOU PAY!

Thanks for the fast reply! I actually tried to create a backup/restore with cwm. it worked fine. However, I didn't try to bring back another ROM yet. I wonder if the current backup is going to be deleted if you install with cwm another ROM?! With Acronis/Ghost you install Windows, create an Image to another partition or hidden partition. You can then install another version of windows and do the same thing, create the Image, store it on another partition and you can then bring back which one you like!

Thats what I thought. It makes sense, I do the same thing when installing windows...

Yes cwm is best for wiping the phone, and you should be able to change the path to.save if not just move it with an app like root explorer.

To get back to stock, I've used GTG's Ultimate Unbrick/Return to stock, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116251
I just prefer using Odin. CWM is an internal program. Odin is an external program.

that would be difficult for most users, im sure you'd have to get into the recovery image and edit it a bit. you may just be able to copy the backup to the external card manually.
im a fan of stock-ish roms as well but im also a flash junkie, seems deodexed roms run a little choppier at times, i cant verify this but stock phones in the store never seem too laggy despite all the memory mods and "lag-fixes" we use around here. i think it may also have to do with the build environment for the custom kernels, some just work better than others despite similarities in the feature set and shared sources among the community. i reember a while back when i got my captivate a developer had a thread discussing toolchains and there effect on wakeup lag which was an issue early on in i9000 development.
Let me start off by stating that I'm not totally new to rooting android devices. I own a EVO 4G and have been messing around with root for a while on it. The DEV community is huge and there are a overwhelming amount of options available.
Like I said, I already rooted my stock 3.2 Xoom and have d/l all the essential ROOT apps like Titanium, MyBackUp Pro and a few others. However, I'm not quite sure where to go next. There doesn't seem to be too many options in term of ROMS and I'm not quite grasping what the ROMS have over rooted stock.
I'm not asking this in a nasty way, I genuinely want to know what the next logical steps are to maximize the use of my Xoom.
Besides that general question I have a few more specific questions:
1. Can I download ClockWorkMod Recovery through the app?
2. Can I overclock using SetCPU?
3. Haven't put a MicroSD card into this thing yet but am I able to save apps to the SD with rooted stock?

2.Yes, once you are rooted and have installed either a Tiamat rom or kernel or Rogue kernel. You will find them in the Xoom Heaven thread in the begining of the General section.
3 Not without doing 2., above. That's one reason to root and mod. FYI, most Honeycomb apps aren't initially setup to write to the external sdcard and require a bit of fooling with, and most, if not all apps need to be run from internal storage (sdcard). I couldn't do without the external sdcard though...I use it to flash fliled, backup nandroid, and have TB backing up my apps and data to it, as well as playing my music, and video collection from it.
I have a Galaxy Gio GT-S5660V (Australia) with a 16GB SD card, having (currently) a 500MB ext2fs partition in addition to the FAT32 partition. I've rooted the phone with universal_gb_root_v20.zip and moved everything that can be moved to the SD card.
But I have installed some 42 additional apps (on top of those that came built-in), and despite uninstalling some built-in apps (using Titanium Backup Root Pro), am forever running out of storage. To the extent that I now can't update some storage-intensive apps (like Google Maps).
I know this is a developers' forum, and I'm not a developer. But it looks like the best place to come for the advice I need. I'm a raw beginner (this is my first and, so far, only smartphone), and am fearful of doing something to the phone that would reduce its usefulness or (worse) stop it working completely. So because the solution to my problem probably involves replacing the stock ROM code with a 'special' ROM, and those ROMs are so poorly documented, I have heaps of questions before I'm confident to proceed.
I've read the 'Big thread For New Users (Rooting, Flashing, Firmwares, Mods, Tips, Tricks)'. I've installed Odin 4.42, and think I understand how to download a new ROM to the phone (but of course haven't tried it yet!!). I looked for a GT-S5660V specific forum, but couldn't find one.
1. If I install a custom ROM, what happens to all the built-in apps that came with the phone? [Some of these are vital to me!] Obviously the basic phone/SMS/data, Bluetooth and WiFi functions must continue to operate correctly.
2. What happens to all the additional apps I've bought and installed?
3. I don't especially want to change the 'look and feel' of my phone. I just want to free up internal storage by using the SD card as an 'extension' to internal storage, so I can continue adding and updating apps without running out. So which ROM is likely to achieve this on the GT-S5660V (I'd particularly like to hear from any Australians who have ROMmed their GT-S5660V with this feature, since I've read warnings about ROM versions that are for the GT-S5660 but NOT the GT-S5660V)?
4. In case the custom ROM doesn't work for me, how do I backup my current ROM so I can reinstall it?

The only thing you'll have are what comes with the ROM you flash. That, of course, includes phone/SMS/data, Bluetooth and Wifi. If you run Astro (the free version is enough) you can save an apk file of any app you absolutely need, just to be sure it's available after you flash a ROM. (Then install Apk Installer, and it can install the apk file in the new ROM.)

The look and feel is the apps. The "desktop" is the launcher. You may find some that you actually like better than the stock one.

With CM you can use up to 1GB on the SD card as internal storage. (Making the partition larger than 1GB in CM seems to cause problems. There's at least one ROM that can take a larger partition, but there's no version for your phone.)
So which ROM is likely to achieve this on the GT-S5660V (I'd particularly like to hear from any Australians who have ROMmed their GT-S5660V with this feature, since I've read warnings about ROM versions that are for the GT-S5660 but NOT the GT-S5660V)?

NEVER flash a ROM that's not for your specific phone. At best it won't work. At worst you won't be able to recover the phone and you'll have to buy another one.

Use Nandroid backup in the recovery boot. (And save the backup to your computer - the SD card will get wiped.)

I had Astro File Manager before, but uninstalled it when I started running short of storage, as I didn't think it offered anything that I couldn't do with ES File Explorer and Titanium Backup Pro. Do I really need to reinstall it, or will the backups from Titanium Backup do?

I believe Titanium Backup Pro backs up user apps and data, so once I reinstall Titanium with the new ROM, I should be able to recover my previous apps, yes?

I'm guessing that 'CM' is CyanogenMod? I'm still looking for a version specifically for the GT-S5660V. It worries me (I really am paranoid! ) that so many versions are 'unofficial', and so poorly documented.

This is what worries me most, as there are very few ROMs and such specifically made for the GT-S5660V – quite a few for the 'generic' Gio (GT-S5660), but few for the 'V' specifically. I read somewhere that the main difference is probably in the 3G frequencies used in Australia, and that some people had tried a 'generic' Gio ROM and lost some of their telephone functionality. Some mention of flashing the Modem code separately, but that just confuses me more!

I looked up Nandroid backup, and it seems to get this I need to install ClockworkMod Recovery. ROM Manager is also recommended as an adjunct, so I've already installed v5.0.2.0 of that. Just need to find a GT-S5660V version of ClockworkMod Recovery now! I guess since it doesn't affect telephone functionality, a version for the generic Gio should be OK, such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650
It's so confusing for a beginner like me, with so many different versions around!
But I really appreciate your help so far, and hope you can continue to enlighten me.
