Guys, anyone encountering "Cookie (if present) not received" error after clicking on Download button?
My Karbonn A9+ as successfully updated to jelly bean, which was working flawlessly for 3 days. But suddenly it died while my charging my phone.. The phone could not be turned on, no fastloader or entry download mode.... However when connected to PC it was being detected as Qualcomm HS-USB QD Loader 9008. I tried this tutorial but am facing cookie not received error.
Since my phone died suddenly, not during any update firmware process... I suspect this could be case of Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS) which means my eMMC flash (internal storage) got corrupted and is not being able to recoginized by QPST tool.
Has anyone faced this problem?

Yes the person in one post first said the problem is due to PC and driver combination. However, in later post has also said:
"i am still stuck in download mode. i was able to programm the bootloader, as i mentioned before by using QFPROM Fuse, everything else leads to errors. only one little detail changed -> when i press the power button it vibrates shortly.when i try to porgram the mmc device i always get no response from the phone."
Some of the points to ponder are:
1. He said he was able to program bootloader using qfprom fuse.
(How did he program bootloader through qfprom fuse, what does this mean?)
2. When power button pressed, there is vibration...
(On my device there is no response when pressed on power on.)
3. However he later said when he tries to program mm, he gets no response.
(He has not said he gets cookie error, just not response... could be anything)
one of the moderator of cherry flare group at facebook was able to revive phone from cookie error.

yes, if you could access entry qpst download mode (vol down + power)... however if you are hard bricked... you would not be able to access that plus your phone would not turn on in any manner.
in my case, my phone didn't turn on no matter what i do. but if i connect my phone to the pc, it shows the qualcomm hs-usb something that can be read by roadkill.

I have messed mine too. I've talked to the people who sold it to me, and they have replied they are going to talk to the manufacturer to see if we can get the firmware and the needed update cable. I'm expecting a reply tomorrow. If I get the firmware and the instructions and tools to flash it, I'll post again.
firmware
hi, i've the same phone and i asked for the firmware....
they sent me this link, but i don't have any idea/instruction in what i've to do in order to flash it to my phone (maybe we need another cable?),
i hope somebody can figure out how to use it (and maybe explain what i've to do...)
sorry but i can't post the link, it's inside the attached file

I searched the forums but couldn't find any answers. This is the first time I'm trying to root an android phone. Things are not going well..
I found a page in Indonesian with instruction on how to root my sister's Lenovo S890. My dad bought her one in China, we live in Europe.
We need to get all the Chinese stuff off and install a "regular" Android version with a normal marketplace (read: whatsapp and google and nothing blocked).
The page with instructions is at http://www.duniaku.net/2013/03/30/u...rtisi-internal-storage-lenovo-ideaphone-s890/ I used Google Translate.
What are the steps? First you need to set up some files such as drivers are required to carry out the process of flashing, SP Flash Tool version 3.1222 or higher, because Lenny chipset MTK6577 S890, S890 and file TWRP to also file a Super User and Busybox will be pushed into the system through TWRP. All the files you can download from the following link:
1 Download Driver Lenovo : Extract file. rar it and then click Install_Driver.exe to install drivers into the system. Rather long process, just wait.
2 Download SP Flash Tool : The author gave the newer version, which v3.1224.01. .
3 Download Team Win Recovery Project : TWRP file is specific to the Lenovo S890, so do not try for another Android, although it also MediaTek chipset.
4 Download Super User and Busybox : Will we push into the system through TWRP custom recovery. Download and copy directly to SD Storage / Memory Cards-mu. Place it outside the / root folder or USB Storage Storage SD / USB storage from your Lenovo S890.
5 Download Data Repartition : This file is optional, just download and place it in the root folder Storage SD / USB Storage. Can later be used to repartition the internal memory is too small Lenovo S890. Author will explain at the bottom.

I first installed the Lenovo S890 drivers. Clicked "Install anyway" for everything and rebooted. No problems.
But when I connect the phone it's still complaining that it can't find drivers (and I can't find any official drivers on the Lenovo website either)?
I also installed the MT6577 USB VCOM drivers that I found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2206421 (before I did this the SP Flash Tool did nothing).
I enabled USB Debugging mode on the phone, and took out the SIM, the SD card and the battery when I connect it to USB to the PC. I am running Win7x64.
Every time I try to run (step 2) SP Flash tool, it starts downloading fine, but then Win7 'spits out' the phone (I can hear the 'usb device disconnected' sound) and SP Flash Tool obviously stops working then and gives some error.
I think this is because the MediaTek MT6577 USB VCOM drivers somehow refuse to install correctly? It looks like rooting might go well once this driver thing is fixed?
When I force installation of the drivers I get a Code 10 error and a yellow triangle next to the Preloader and the MediaTEL Vcom something USB driver in Windows Device Manager. ( I searched the forums and didn't find a solution for this).
I forced installation by opening Device Manager, click Add, click Add Legacy Hardware - manual - choose the usb2ser_Win764.info file out of the MT6577 USB VCOM drivers folder
This is what's in the .inf file : Is there anything I can change here to force it to work?

Giving up
Since this seems to be a less popular phone with very little support available - I'm giving up.
Spent 3 full days on this thing with no results, and I just read the GPS also won't work outside of China either.
Now all I need to do is figure out how to get it out of META mode or Factory mode, and get it to boot back into it's normal Chinese Android system.

Hi, I'm having a much similar problem, since I couldn't flash recovery with SP flash tool, the process was terminated unexpectedly showing error message s_ft_need_download_all_fail (4050), after a couple of days looking for a solution I decided to format the phone with SP Flash Tool, and it worked, right after I tried to flas recovery again...and it worked. I thought I had found the way but when I tried to boot the phone in recovery mode nothing happened, no matter what keys combination I use, how long I press them, the phone just won't react, it doesn't show anything on the screen.
I don't know if this was the logic step to follow, but if you want to try and discover what to do next, up to you, 4 hands are better than 2,maybe yuo find the solution.
Good luck.
There is no button combination to boot recovery, try droidgram-reboot on play store.

Hey guys I got a very strange problem.
I successully updated my a9+ to jelly bean, which worked for 3 days. Suddenly while charging my phone, it died. I saw the phone charge upto 93% and when checked later it was turned off. I tried to turn on the phone, fastloader and qpst download entry mode... nothing worked... I thought that there was some hardware malfunction..
Then I tried connecting the dead phone to PC and a device under Qualcomm HS-USB QD Loader 9008 got installed. I search google and came to know about tutorial where you could flash bootloader thorough QPST (Qualcomm Product Support Tool). I followed the tutorial but i received error "Cookie not available", which according to tutorial is not solvable.
I don't know the cause of this problem... Maybe it was eMMC internal flash failure without any fault on JB update... Or something that happened due to jelly bean update process and incompatiblity of the firmware with a9+..
Now my question is:
1. Is my phone eMMC flash damaged physically beyond any repair?
2. Or the service center guys can still access my eMMC flash and repair it?
3. If eMMC is damaged, can it be replaced or the entire board needs to be replace?
It is not job fault. Emmc died. You can get replacement/repair as there is no way to know that u flashed job .

It's not concern with backup_nv it requires you to when you install bp firmware and further steps. It requires comport.

and here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2466694
but I had the same issue both times.
When I connect the phone (switched off) it connects (I can hear the sound) and then disconnects (again the sound) and starts charging.
I used the PdaNet+ drivers, the drivers of canvas hd (a116), and many others (Names of all the drivers further below the thread)
I tried using a different cable, removing the battery, different USB ports, multiple PC's, and 64bit versions of Windows 7, and windows 8/8.1, still, had the same issue..
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
What I did :
Open the SP flash tool (with admin permissions)
Load the scatter file
Check the box that says 'DA DL All With Check Sum'
Hit download
Connect the phone (switched off)
Now the issue starts, it connects, then disconnects, and starts charging.
The flash tool, it just keeps on searching for my phone.
Other Drivers I tried :

though you HAVE to disable Driver Signature Enforcement (google it) or else it won't install..

Here is a solution for the problem.

4. Now here is the trick, in SP Flash Tool, go to ACTION > DOWNLOAD
5. Connect the phone (which should be switched off)
Hello , after alot of research online I've managed to come up with a way to unbrick my hard bricked device Sky IM-A770K in qhsusb_dload mode with dead boot ,without having to send it to those jtag/medusa services with the help of some methods i found on some vietnames websites . Ok so before we begin I hold no responsibility for the damage that you're device gets so follow the steps exactly as I say .
So this is the ultimate guide to unbrick your IM-A770K or IM-A760S device from qhs_usbdload. :fingers-crossed:
Note : This guide works only for devices stuck in QHS_usbdload mode.(No boot)
(Note: in the links remove blank spaces.)
Note windows 7 is recommended OS to have on this guide :
1. Download the attached files in the link at the end of thread.
1.5.Open cmd in administrator mode and type
Code:
bcdedit /set {globalsettings} advancedoptions true
1.6.Restart Pc and disable driver signature enforcement.
2. Connect sky im a770k to pc with usb.
3. Open device manager. Device should should show as qhsusb_dload.
4.Click on device and click update driver browse for the files qhs_usbdload and chose the driver accordingly to 32bit or 64bit system.
5.Once drivers installed the device should show as Qualcomm Usb Diagnostic 9006 (COMx)(Note: x stands for the number of the port of your device that your pc shows).
6.Install qpst.
7.Open Qpst Configuration , Select Ports->Add New Port -> Select (COMx) of your phone you can check it at device manager.
8.Close. Open emmc Software download.
9. Check the image 'emmc Software download' in the files i've provided for configuration click download.
10. Now your device should show as Qualcom cdma technologies msm in device manager.
10.5 Click on it Update Drivers browse for file select the drivers from the files that i've provided you with . Its qualcom cdma technologies.
10.6.Now you'r device should show in device manager as qualcom diagnostic mode 9025 or 9008.
11. If asked do not format. If device boots up do not attempt the following. You've fixed it . If not continue with below steps.
12.This is the hard part you should be careful with this could damage your internal emmc partitions permanently.
13. Install winHex from winhex folder.
14.Open winhex as administrator.
14.5.Warning this step is for sky im a770k or 760s only if you have another device please do not attempt it as you may damage emmc(sdcard) permanently. Thank You.
15. Select File->Restore Image->Browse to the downloaded files of my guide(Change File type to .01,.img,etc)->Select unbrick770k760s.img. Open.
16. Select Kind of image: Disk.
17.Select Target Disk At Logical Volumes /Partitions Your device should show as qualcom msm 14.9gb (something like that) chose it. WARNING do not chose other drives as they could be damaged.
18. Click ok . And wait till it's finished.
19. Your device should boot up If you followed the steps correctly.
20.Hope this fixes it.
Next all you have to do is flash firmware offline check out this guy do as he does.Or you can google other ways:
htt ps://ww w.you tube.com/watch?v=uDsOm orfp0I
Again I do not hold responsibility for all the above steps . It worked for me maybe it'll work for you or your device could be damaged more who knows so do this on your own risk. If you chose to do this be sure to install the drivers properly. Research on how to install them if you're having trouble doing it .If this methods doesn't work for you keep researching online maybe you'll find a way.It took me a week of research before i could come up with this. For any questions you have you can ask me.
Thank you And Good Luck! :good:

If you chose to do this be sure to install the drivers properly. Research on how to install them if you're having trouble doing it .If this methods doesn't work for you keep researching online maybe you'll find a way.It took me a week of research before i could come up with this. For any questions you have you can ask me.
Thank you And Good Luck! :good:
