CPUID just released CPU-Z for Android. It's a small tool, but pretty interesting. The S4 has a LOT of sensors, LOL.

Yea, it's cool to see CPU-Z on android. I like that i can read the sensor info without opening up S Health.
It is crazy to see all the sensors listed like that, pretty awesome.

Androsensor is much lighter.

So I bought the Octa Core version too and took some pics with both phones. The i9500 seems to win although the SD600 variant is great too. Shame on Samsung for (probably) two different camera senors on each of them. I'll definitely go with the Exynos version.
There's much more detail on the Exynos version (check out the image of the balcony).

The sensors are the same so if there is a difference in quality is not down to that.

It's probably a camera software differences and not sensors.

That is certainly possible. I remember comparing my faulty HD2 photo quality before I returned it with my newly received one just to see if there was a difference in quality and found there was. Sometimes even identical hardware can throw up different results, especially on something as software dependant as a phone. Those photos don't conclusively prove anything.

First of all, many thanks for this!
The dynamic range is noticeably better on the Octa-core, it still captures the texture of the yellow house under direct sunlight while the SD600 version loses it due to the light flow. The Octa-core also has a little more details as expected with zero traces of noise on the clouds. It appears that the SD600 sensors produces some noise even in daylight, so a minimal denoising and some sharpening is required. As said many times before, the differences are not major but noticeable, hope we'll see some more comparisons, thank you very much for these!
i9500: Sony Exmor RS
i9505: Sony Exmor R
anyway Im very satisfied with i9505 photos! just compared your orange house composition and the difference is minimal except better house wall texture and very little noise difference is minimal!
Comparing the two sets i can tell Exynos is slightly better.
It handles dynamic range better.
Although the differences are minimal.About 3-4% better.
I'd like to see some night shoots comparison as well.

its been confirmed by many in the camera comparison thread by @BoneXDA
9500 is Sony IMX135(Exmor RS)
9505 is Sony IMX091PQ(Exmor R)
RS sensor is newer one
In the above photos I see no differences, not even between those balcony photos.

Yep, and to be honest, if it's really true, I'm happy with the Exmor R
Why?

Well, the sensor is more important than the lens, but the lens have its part too. However, I see no differences between the photos posted by op

Sensor and lens are both tremendously important. You're trying to argue against technical facts here backed up by real-world feedback. The RS sensor is simply superior.

I agree that both look great, but can you honestly say that you cannot see a difference in the balcony picture crop?
The balcony and the walls have a lot more details on the i9500 in that photo.
When you zoom in the photo, you can also see a difference in the tree leaves and branches, and other small details.
It's pretty easy to spot now that we have side by side photos.
Concerning the video, I wouldn't trust Xperia photo/video quality after seeing photos from those devices, even though it is Exmor RS (the difference with the S4 is huge, I'm guessing their post processing is really bad).
And as AndreiLux said, both the sensor and lens are important.
That being said, noone is saying you shouldn't be happy with the i9505 camera, I've seen extremely good photos taken with that one, to the point that I didn't know whether is was taken by a i9505 or i9500 (in the photos thread), but you don't have to blindly contradict everything that shows the i9500 as a slightly better camera phone to try to convince yourself, just enjoy yours.
In a few months, there will probably be better ones anyway.
Hi guys! i9500 user here from the Philippines..
Do you experience not able to use your phone's cam flash bec. of the phone sayin like "can't use flash bec. of the phone being warm." We know sometime our phones gets warm due to running alot of heavy app or taking videos on your phone but it shouldn't affect using your flash..

Looks nice but I like more the clean design of the S4.
This is will probably shut all the people saying cheap plastic about the S4
Also, it looks like it has a 8MP sensor and not 13MP like the S4.

Anyway, I see why people may love the back, I love it except for the metal.
Great . Does it have FM. I need FM on main Phone.
Hope Samsung enabled FM on this S4

That article is about the Play and not the Style.
They both have the same Sony IMX230 sensor though
Some suggest the Style might perform better thanks to the better processing power but tbh I have no idea if that matters.
Sent from S3 via Tapatalk App.
Although they both have the same sensor doesn't mean they're going to perform the same. I believe the Style will have slightly better post processing over the Play. We'll shall see in a couple weeks

I trust this site like Display Mate. They nailed the Note 4 review and say the Moto X Style is better than the Note 4 camera. Surprised the media is not linking to this much. Especially Motorola not pushing it.

hello, im think about buying Lenovo P70 which doest have compass and gyroscope sensor... just want to ask, do these sensors is really a must in smartphone or it just okay if is not in the phone... im rarely used compass as i dont know what to use for... or there a lots of apps need to have this sensor to working? i really want to buy this phone but these sensors really confusing me whether it should be in the phone or not... please answer... thx
Although these sensors are becoming more popular in android phones, I do not think most of the apps on the market are using them. Compass and gyro can be used to measure the devices position in 3d space more accurately than the standard accelerometer, but this is not necessary in for example majority of games. If you cannot come up with something that you need these sensors for, they are not necessary. Including these sensors may increase the phones price a little bit, but not by much [citation needed].

So I received my one plus 6 today. After setting up, I open play store and all the icons of different apps looks little off as if they are of low quality. Further I look closely at the fonts...they too were off.... like little blurred and not sharp enough. The status bar icon were also not sharp enough as in my brothers poco f1. As if the display is of low resolution. So, Is it how the display of one plus 6 is, is this how AMOLED displays are (never used one before) or I got a faulty piece...?

I did not said software update made the display quality poor. I just start using phone after updating. I got device 16 hours back and start using after updating. That's when I noticed it. Please check play Store for me and see if apps icons are crystal clear or their outline is little blurred..?

ALSO, next time make sure that you provide a comparison shot that anyone can use - you are subscribed to the Indian guy. Not everyone is. So we cannot have the same Play Store look. I suggest unsubscribing before you can post a comparison shot.

Yes. Its not distorted. Its like a image which losses its quality when it is compressed. Its hard to explain.
Do xda compressed the size of pic that we attch?

Bro I am just asking you to check the channels DP displayed next to the title of videos in home feed of the youtube app. In my one plus 6 the icons looks pretty distorted as if they are low resolution. Almost every pic (snapshots of videos) and channel pic I see in youtube app looks distorted/low quality. I just want you to check it on your device ..do you see any distorted/low res channelpics/text/video thumbnails when you look little closely ? There's no need to post it here because if my display is faulty then no matter what ever I see in it..... it will look distorted.

Yes pixelated thumbnail. Thats the same pixleted app icons I'm seeing on play store as well if you look little closely. Even the clock widget placed on home screen is not sharp enough (pixleted edges) if you look closely. And even the screen boundary is little pixeleted (not smooth) around the corner and edges of notch if you look closely especially in app with white status bar like instagram. Please confirm it to me.
