[ABANDONED][at&t]Official China 4.1.2 leak - Motorola Atrix 2

READ THE LAST POST - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59022073&postcount=140
In short:
1 - ICS kernel with JB - Boot animation comes (but stuck there)
2 - Kexec kernel with JB - WIP.
LINK (JB Nandroid + Boot.img) - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1Uqb2qEAt_DQXVFTlFNbzYzd00/edit?usp=sharing
JB kernel with JB:
1. Backup CID to /ext (this is important because if you'll do it to /int it will be in /data - Data wipe will loose it).
1.1. Optional - Backup stock AT&T kernel.
2. Restore nandroid via BMM only.
3. Erase CID.
4. Flash JB kernel via Firmware flashing - Flash kernel (boot.img).
5. Reboot.
Note: In case of freezes do cold reboot by holding Vold up+Vold down+Power buttons. It may happen on BMM while bypassing CID...
LINK (JB on ICS kernel in bootloping state) - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1Uqb2qEAt_DT2d6N29tNktEcXM/edit?pli=1
It's tar.a format, it's only BMM, but you'll not mess with any bloobs.
ICS kernel with JB:
1. Restore nandroid on ICS kernel.
2. Reboot.

Nice!!!:good:

Excellent, now please tell us step by step about the process we need to follow to get it working.
What is the recommended recovery for installing this?
One more question, where you able to go back to ICS?
Thanks!

Have you tried the camera libs from CM10??

Good idea, this happened with motorola bravo, stock gingerbread port from milestone2, the camera worked with cm7 libs when cm7 for bravo was finally built from source.

You'll be able to restore AT&T ics, since you flashing only boot.img (which not affects from downgrading).

UPDATE: Tried to copy that missing file from 4.0.4 AT&T - com.motorola.android.camera.jar ,bootloop on bootanimation...

Razr to prevent downgrading issues can flash JB with ICS kernel. Maybe this posible on Atrix? You'll need replace JB libs with ICS libs & flash JB ZIP without CID erasing.

I'm running final AT&T ICS 125. So I replaced AT&T camera libs. For those who saying try leak2/3 libs, all I can say that's in all JB on AT&T camera not working...

This kernel with aosp 4.1 or cm10 rom?
It is possible solves the ui tearing/shifting
Can someone try? (Sorry for my questions, I can't try, no computer for me )

If you will try to boot Non-Kexec on JB kernel you will get black screen .. and 4.1.2 don't have ui tearing ,just the 4.2.2 one's

I have already done like you do.
you can see my posts on atrix2 general
camera cannot work . may you work it out!
Maybe you can flash razr's jb via kexec .

For those of you that have flashed this, I'm a little intimidated by the fact that there is a boot.img in the zip. Will installing this overwrite the bootloader?
Just to let everyone know that most everything is now working, GPS, Home button, BT is fixed, several more APNs added, DATA works.
What is still broken is wifi and video. You can use apps that use their own decoding, but we will fix that after we have wifi fully working.
We are very close on wifi, rdavisct and I have eliminated 90% of the errors we were seeing in dmesg about wifi startup, but we still have 3 or 4 errors that we need to fix before it will work.

No, not yet. We will need to work on that, to make it work for 2nd system. Also it is ONLY flashable using the Atrix 2 Bootstrap utility, no bootmenu or safestrap, as it will not execute the updater script correctly, and somethings don't get installed correctly with bootmenu or safestrap.
Okay I don't want to be sarcastic, or funny, or an a** when I ask this - what benefits does a 4.1 system have with a 4.0 kernel other than ui features and animations?
I presume project butter isn't working?

I think it is. There was not a big change between ICS and JB kernel wise. Google Now should work perfectly too. Also. It's CM. So it's worth the trouble.

Here's the flash requirements ....
How to flash :
- Tested on ATT and Asia verison mb865
- U should flash this rom on an ICS rom(I mean, your kernel should be 3.X, and your stock rom should be ics)
- Install safetrap or bootstrap to flash this rom
- Boot menu manager is not supported ATM!!!!
- Wipe/Reboot & enjoy it
If I recollect Jim pulled the ICS leak. SVC7 requires ICS leak as does the CM10.
Searched and haven't found it. Is it hiding anywhere?

The leak is right here, for AT&T users:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779968
If you are not on at&t you will need to install the leak for your region.
And yes project butter is working just fine with CM10. Since we are on a 3.X kernel everything will work just fine.. the difference between ICS and JB will be small, JB will be more like when we went from 2.2 to 2.3... it changed names, but more like a medium upgrade... LOL

I'm using jb on my kindle fire with the 3.0.3 kernel and it smokes ics as far as usability goes.much smoother transitions, apps open faster etc. benchmarks aren't much different but i do find the user experience to be a major improvement. The fire has the same cpu/gpu as our a2 so I expect similar results.

(==)Modified System UI apk for all(==)

This is my personal SystemUI.apk I use on CleanROM. Figured I would share it here, Anyone is welcome to use it or icons etc in it at will.
Most of the icons came from the UOT Kitchen with the exception of the 4G icon, it came from another mod here on XDA, I combined those with some from my wifes Galaxy note and created this cool themed SystemUI apk. Updater zip provided by team nocturnal.
Works with:
CleanROM latest version
Check out the photos below.
Disclaimer: as usual im not responsible for any damage you or your phone may suffer from this flash. Tested and working on CleanROM latest version. If your use another ROM and flash this and it works fine please tell me so I can add that rom/version to the works with list.
Installation:
1. Download modifiedsystemui.zip to sdcard
2. Backup current SystemUI.apk located in system/app to sdcard in a place you can find it and on your pc
3. Reboot to TWRP recovery
4. Flash zip
5. Wipe dalvik/cache
6. Reboot enjoy
If you want to return to your previous systemui.apk simply replace your backed up systemui.apk with 7zip in the zip file deleting the modified one and flash it.

This is a stock ROM but because it's not running on the firmware update that it came bundled with in the OTA update there's some kind of mismatch happening, thus causing these signal drops and random reboots. If you plan on trying the latest Telstra radio I'd suggest taking the firmware update route, I flashed the radio while still on the 2.14 hboot and it performed terribly. I think it works like this:
If you're on hboot 2.15, previous radios work terribly but latest works well.
If you're on <2.15 previous radios work well but latest radio works terribly.
I've only tested while on the lower hboot (<2.15) so far though.

T-Mobile 5.08 isn't a port and neither is this Telstra ROM.
Both are stock ROMs.
Differences will be carrier apps, carrier settings like APN, default qwerty keyboard, language, build.prop settings like fingerprint and such.

porraxenieze, afaik a prerequisite of JBX is to be first on a kexec kernel. I u/s what 'MotoMudder' is saying but I am unsure how jbx plays in a multiboot environment, I mean if for ex if someone has stock unoffficial (official) JB leak on sys 1 and on sys 3 if one installs 4.3 kexec PA or say kexec 4.3 Slimbean & then flashes jbx, what happens??

What I mean to say is in the JBX OP, it mentions before flashing JBX, phone needs to have a kexec ROM installed beforehand & only then jbx can be flashed.

well yea, otherwise you'd be flashing a kernel to a ROM that doesnt support it.
flash ROM, then flash JBX to it.

im not sure if I understand, i mean, the only thing I ever did to my phone is update to the JB leak via rsdlite, and now I only want to flash the paranoid android rom, the JBX kernel I do not want it, but now I dont understand if it is required or not to use the rom and prevent the black screen kexec issue
MotoMudder77 said:
as long as your rooted, yes. install BMM, follow instructions in its thread, and flash ROM.
Black screen issue should be fixed without needing JBX.

ah okay did not saw this carefully, so I can install the rom on the jb leak 1, already rooted, just need to install bmm and flash
do i have to do the partition and install on system 3 or can i just install it, dont do the partition and install it on system 1?

I would partition. JB ROM's are far from stable, and never will be without kernel source. Always nice to have a stable Daily driver on your phone to fall back on.

mmm okay i guess, i will see it then, when i do the partition the systems 3 - 6 can only be 1gb max right? that means you only have that much to install on the internal memory? seems low..

[Q] BMM compatible MIUI Rom?

I just want to make a sincere request to all our developers.
Would it be possible to port MIUI ROM such that it can be installed in partitions other than 1. Like the ROMs we already have.
Currently I've JB Leak 1 installed in System 1 and I want to keep it as it is.
Thanks.
Miui v4 and 5 both bmm compatible.. U need to check the development thread..

I understand what you are trying to say. But my concern is, for MIUI, we need to install it over official JB leak 3. And we cannot install official jb leaks on any other partitions. So how will I install MIUI on other partitions? Can't we have a KEXEC type ROM which can be installed just like all other ROMs??

Make a backup of the jb leak 3 via BMM and then restore it on another system then flash miui on top of that.
If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.

I have MIUI on my system 4 it shouldn't be a problem
Use this link if your on the Asia or ME865 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362411 (its got nightly updates)
For AT&T model use this one which i use its from some Chinese website translated in this forum (It requires a BMM compatible patch that you need to zip )
