This is a stock ROM but because it's not running on the firmware update that it came bundled with in the OTA update there's some kind of mismatch happening, thus causing these signal drops and random reboots. If you plan on trying the latest Telstra radio I'd suggest taking the firmware update route, I flashed the radio while still on the 2.14 hboot and it performed terribly. I think it works like this:
If you're on hboot 2.15, previous radios work terribly but latest works well.
If you're on <2.15 previous radios work well but latest radio works terribly.
I've only tested while on the lower hboot (<2.15) so far though.

I can understand most peoples frustration but from my testing I can confirm that if you are on the 1.09 Hboot and you use any of the JB 4.2.2 roms you are going to have these issues. As soon I upgraded through all Hboots(RUU+OTA's) to 2.15 I have had trouble free service on a stock & beastmode kernals.

Things that work with this ROM
- Beastmode Reloaded 3.5 kernel
Things that DON'T work with this ROM
- You tell me
-I don't know if zoe mod works with this(it should) as I don't care for this mod

I have installed Xposed framework and now have APM, themed icons, modified notification bar.
Running Beastmode kernel.
So far running a lot smoother than any other rom I've used before.

What's the difference between this and the tmobil port?

T-Mobile 5.08 isn't a port and neither is this Telstra ROM.
Both are stock ROMs.
Differences will be carrier apps, carrier settings like APN, default qwerty keyboard, language, build.prop settings like fingerprint and such.

Anything pulled the radio out of this yet?

Both Telstra 5.06 and T-Mobile 5.08 are using the same radio. I believe both are using 1.31a.32.45.16_2_10.141.32.34a

I agree I've been running this since last night and it is just like butter.
It also seems faster than the other base. with less glitches.
It rebooted once but since I installed beast mode problem free.
Thanks

I've been running Beastmode for 5 days on this without issues compared to a few reboots on viper 4 & 4.1.
You should try it if you want the extras from the his Kernel

OK will do as I love the S2W feature!!

I wanted to try to download your rom to rebase mine but the download speeds were unexceptable. It was never going to finish at that rate. Had to cancel it.

Great work. I've been waiting for stock Telstra Rom to drop. Just flashed this morning and running beastmode. Have xposed with sense toolbox. Running great so far. Thanks.

Hi I am running with xposed framework and xprivacy on the Optus network in aus. I am getting numerous reboots and the mobile network drops out, seemingly, when the phone sleeps. I am also getting calls dropping out. This came from a clean flash. Is anyone else having similar issues? Is there some edits that need to be made to build.prop for Optus?
Thx

How do I do an ADSP firmware update?

I installed the JB ROM JellyTime Beta 7 fine. When I installed JellyTime Beta 8, it hung on the Jellybean boot screen. The OP of the JellyTime thread told someone else with the same problem to update their ADSP firmware for new kernels. I searched and searched, but I couldn't find a reference to how do do that or what it even really was. Could anyone help point me in the right direction?

Sure wish i could get some help with this too.
Have you guys tried the latest releases? When full wiping include format all partitions except sd card.
Sent from a dream.
What latest releases are you referring to? Could you please be more specific?
EDIT: I did a full wipe and reformat of everything, including system, data, and cache.
Right now they are on beta 10. Funny thing, I don't recall anyone mentioning a need to do a adsp firmware update. I don't even know what it is.

I upgraded my radio and ril and it still would not work. I then flashed a stock htc ROM that had sense 3 and then it would take beta 10.

It worked for me as well.
along the same discussion I'd like to ask another question about the new 3.0 kernel.
I'm a weekly ROM changer and usually run IceColdSandwich. Once I switch back to ICS and want to reflash JT to check out the latest improvements/updates, do I have to re-flash the GizRoot_v_2 with the 3.0 kernel then flash JellyTime? Would it work If I did a backup of JellyTime and tried to restore it when a new update comes out or does it become non flashable once I've returned to the older ICS kernel?
In other words, can I flash between ICS and JT without having to go through all the steps to reload the 3.0 kernel?
Thanks in advance to a great community!

Nope. You only need to flash the stock once; after that, flash back and forth to your heart's content.

IceColdSandwich runs on a 2.6.5 kernel, and will not work with a 3.0 kernel. Jellytime runs on a 3.0 kernel and will not work with a 2.6.5 kernel. Both of those ROMS have their respective kernels included. You only have to flash the ROM. I'd also recommend a full wipe before each flash as well.

usspatriot is actually referring to a separate question. Some of us need to update our firmware to run JB, which can only be done by flashing the latest stock before flashing JB. He wanted to know if the updated firmware would be overwritten by flashing ICS, requiring a reflash of stock before reflashing JB. The ICS and JB kernels are not at issue.
I wonder if this has anything to do with my issue with JB on a Desire HD:
I came from SmartDroid_Reloaded_wwe_1.5.2, did a full wipe, installed, everything works fine for me except for cellular data.
I'm wondering if it's something to do with JB not liking my phone? I've also tried a couple of ICS roms.. See below:
SmartDroid_Reloaded_wwe_1.5.2 = cell data works
Sabsa_Prime_v5.0 = cell data works
TrickDroid_v1.1.1 = cell data works
cm-cfX-20120925-OFFICIAL-ace = no cell data
cm-JellyTime_R10 = no cell data
cm-JellyTime_R10.1 = no cell data
cm-JellyTime_R11 = no cell data
i set my APN's to suit my network (crazy johns in australia) but nothing works..
If i connect to wifi, both the wifi signal and cell signal turn blue, if i disconnect from wifi, both turn grey.
MMS, SMS, Phone calls work fine..

(==)Modified System UI apk for all(==)

This is my personal SystemUI.apk I use on CleanROM. Figured I would share it here, Anyone is welcome to use it or icons etc in it at will.
Most of the icons came from the UOT Kitchen with the exception of the 4G icon, it came from another mod here on XDA, I combined those with some from my wifes Galaxy note and created this cool themed SystemUI apk. Updater zip provided by team nocturnal.
Works with:
CleanROM latest version
Check out the photos below.
Disclaimer: as usual im not responsible for any damage you or your phone may suffer from this flash. Tested and working on CleanROM latest version. If your use another ROM and flash this and it works fine please tell me so I can add that rom/version to the works with list.
Installation:
1. Download modifiedsystemui.zip to sdcard
2. Backup current SystemUI.apk located in system/app to sdcard in a place you can find it and on your pc
3. Reboot to TWRP recovery
4. Flash zip
5. Wipe dalvik/cache
6. Reboot enjoy
If you want to return to your previous systemui.apk simply replace your backed up systemui.apk with 7zip in the zip file deleting the modified one and flash it.

Okay I know what is wrong. Not all clean roms are on jelly bean. If this is ice cream sandwich then this won't work for anyone with jelly bean. Visa versa I'll work on it tonight and help some people out if they need it. It's what I used to do anyways

[ROM] 01/01/13 Stock rooted odexed JB Telstra_WWE_3.17.841.2

Feel free to use this but I accept no responsibility for the results - read up before you flash!
This is a collaboration between radavs and me and is primarily for Telstra users but can be modified for any carrier in build.prop.
I use this on a daily basis and have had no issues for a week solid.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All apps working - including video camera.
Removed some bloat (Telstra Navigator, Google plus, Polaris, pdf viewer)
English language only - other languages removed - they can be pulled from the original OTA zip (which can be found here on the forums) and added to the rom.zip before flashing.
There are no screen shots because we all know what a stock rom looks like......

Reserved - just in case.
An extra note: I am on hboot 1.09 - I cannot garuntee this will work with other hboot versions.
Thanx Pablo11
Love you have done this!
Couple things:
I am on hboot 1.14 but have flashed the boot.img file from JB ROM already when running Jokers ROM so I cant say if it was required to be done or not.
Wiper had error twice on startup and then is fine, however I removed wiper.apk and the odex for it from zip and rewiped and reflashed.
Added Superuser.apk to apps folder (in ROM zip file before flashing) and it installs with ROM no probs.
When checking with 3G/4G Speed Optimizer pro it states /24/6 when with ICS it used to be 12/24/6 and I found line "ro.ril.gprsclass=12" missing from build.prop.
Mind you this is also missing from the stock JB Telstra ROM OTA update file so have left it out until I can do some 4G speed tests.
This is all I have found and will be running this 24/7 and will let you know how it goes. Thanx heaps for doing this as I have no idea how to root etc the OTA and wanted the stock Telstra settings in my device so this is awesome!!
Triple thumbs up!!

Damn! I thought I pulled out that wiper.apk! It's useless anyway.
Thanks for the superuser feedback. I did add the binaries to the rom but not the superuser apk. At the time I built this there were root issues and feedback was to flash the zip. Shows how long ago I built it
To be honest optimizer pro is not needed with these new roms. I am getting best ever speeds with this rom and I hardly ever use LTE.
I did notice some changes in the build.prop and the line you mention is one of them.
Seems like some values are not needed on Telstra's newer network.

I've been using $droyd$'s AOKP 4.2.2 ROM and the only issue is that as of right now, you can't record in 1080p. Other than that, its very smooth and fast.
Also if you were unaware before, wifi-calling doesn't work on any jelly bean rom.
Good luck!

WIFI issues are a nuance of this phone and the tmobile seems to be the most affected - it's different for each access point, user, phone, rom and firmware. In short you'll have to try it.
My tmobile worked with wifi on CM10 and CM10.1, it would not work with Viper until I downgraded my hboot (partial s-off enables some firmware write access) and flashed my wifi firmware. It get's interesting - I then put the old firmware back and the wifi still worked!!
Did you see the S-OFF thread? This will enable you to flash the radio firmware which will solve any problems.
Remember your WIFI channels - different countries use different range of channels and some access points 'helpfull' set the channel automaticlly. I have many devices that cannot cope with channel12.
Not trying to be a buzz kill here, but what's the purpose of this thread? I mean the Dev section is right over there, and the first page is flowing with fully working or close to fully working new ROMS.
Just saying.
I see what your saying. But honestly when you go through the a certain ROMs thread, they never say how WiFi doesn't work on T-Mobile phones. Or any of the problems Tmobiles users face. And who wants to go through a thread having to look for that one specific detail about a ROM whether or not to see if WiFi works. Also when looking through these ROM threads you find people that just like to say thank you (which there is nothing wrong with) that fill up the pages, making it harder to know if everything in that ROM is really going to work on your tmobile HTC one s, because people do search through comments to see what the users say. Therefore I made this thread for all T-Mobile users who want to post and say whether their ROM they are using works perfectly or if they are experiencing problems. And who wants to go through the process of flashing a new ROM without even knowing whether something like WiFi works. So yeah that's why i made this thread

I get that, ROM posts can be a little all over the place sometimes. I didn't understand at first; I'm one of the few T-Mo users with pretty much no problems. It also doesn't help that the ROM database that some guy did in the Dev section hasn't been updated for some time.
Thankyou

I've been using $droyd$'s AOKP 4.2.2 ROM and the only issue is that as of right now, you can't record in 1080p. Other than that, its very smooth and fast.
Also if you were unaware before, wifi-calling doesn't work on any jelly bean rom.
Good luck!

Ok thank you. Now i think im going to go Flash that rom. And also did you do anything specific to get your wifi working. and what Hboot are you on
If you are S-ON and have high HBOOT and want a Sense-based ROM with working WiFi, you were looking at TrickDroid 7 (TMOUS based), Unknown Retribution, and I think one more (Energy Blue, IIRC) that were based on recent updates. Since they were all based on the TMOUS ROM, everything should work without doing anything super special, including WiFi-calling. Virtuous Ville+ also had working WiFi, but no WiFi-calling. Recent CM 10.1 nightlies are working really well. At least, those are the ROMs I've used.

Wait are you saying that Recent cm10.1 nightlies have wifi working on our device. and by wifi working i mean it automatically turns on, and not just hangs and turns on later .
I haven't had any WiFi hangs.
I just started using Liquid Smooth. Pretty nice IMO. The only issues I've notcied were a bluetooth hang that fixed after a reboot, and Voice search keeps crashing.

Right now I'm on Viper 2.1.0 with the full firmware from the 3.16 WWE OTA -- I only made that jump because S-OFF makes it easy to switch without having to downgrade HBOOT. So HBOOT is 2.15 and Radio is 1.11.50.05.28. But I've just started using that and can't give you much in the way of impressions on WiFi stability yet. Just flashed it last night and didn't have any WiFi problems downloading my apps last night or weather checks this morning.
Before that I was using a recent CM 10.1 nightly on the TMOUS 2.35.531.10 firmware. So HBOOT 1.14 and 1.11t. I ran that firmware combination from shortly after its release until flashing Viper. ROMs in use were either CM 10.1 nightlies or Unknown Retribution (TMOUS 2.35 based).

noob question- What do you mean by TMOUS 2.35 based. And how does that affect the cm10.1 nightly
I mean ROMs that were built using T-Mobile US's 2.35 ROM as a base. Other Sense-based ROMs, like Viper, start with different ROMs as a base. The different Sense bases are part of the reason people run into WiFi problems when using ROMs originally created for other regions.
CM 10.1 has an entirely different heritage so it has its own ways of dealing with those issues.

I'm on hboot 1.09 and the wi-fi worked right from the start.
p.s. sorry for the slow reply
Gotta Tell you the Viper 2.1.0 rocks...its fast awesome battery life and its got working wifi...not wifi calling but just wifi in general...it honestly is the best sense ROM...I have tried CM 10, Virtuous Ville+, P.A.C Man and even the ICS ROMs and I gotta say the Venom team makes an awesome product...
"[rom][S4][15FEB]Updated_4.2.2_AOKP-Working-video" seems to work great with TMOUS hboot 1.14, added the new camera (in the post) with photosphere, The only little bug I found is the bluetooth doesn't list station info on my car stereo. I saw a tearing fix using bubba kernel, but I'm just living with it for now. Everything else seems to work great!
I just flashed the LiquidSmooth JB ROM from Droyd and this thing is amazing.. Coming from a rooted Stock Sense there really is no comparison, I might give Viper a try but this is clearly gonna be my daily driver

I'm curious... Is there an advantage to running stock over dev. Roms outside the obvious if you need to take it into rogers or just checking ot out?

I suspected the stock kernel would have better call quality and in fact it does. That was the only reason I was seeking an untouched CWM/TWP zip.

Um no that's either in your head or a decent modem.
The only real advantage of stock is supposed "stability".
There's honestly no real difference but preference.

Good rom but two issues
Using CWM to flash on my AT&T I727 Skyrocket. It seems working well. However there are two issues: 1. When booting it shows "Android upgrading". Doesn't impact usage but annoying. 2. When plug it to charger, it turns on itself. Is this the compatibility problem between Roger version firmware and AT&T version hardware?

Does it always show Android upgrading or was it just on the 1st boot after flashing the rom?
As for turning on when plugging it in, probably a setting set to power on or wake up when plugged/unplugged.
Is the rom rooted?

If it always shows android upgrading then it does that because you didn't wipe data/factory restore & wipe cache & wipe dalvik like you should before flashing any rom.
Have never experienced number 2 though.
Flashed on a friends phone he claims it is running very smoothly, Anyone sure if with just the AT&T LTE APN will auto switch to HSPA+ if LTE is unavailable ?

I am thinking of flashing it to my AT&T i727, any feedback from AT&T users who have flashed it would be appreciated. Also is there any improvement in the battery life over ICS? Last thing that is it rooted?
Thanks

Let me know how it goes. I was unsuccessful at flashing but would like to try this rom for the call quality as stated by some users
