Hi everyone. Let's find out which custom ROM people are favoring at the moment. There are so many great ROM's out there at the moment I really don't have a clue which one to go with for my everyday ROM.

My thoughts exactly,
As I've found out in the past much to my annoyance, you can't create a poll once the thread is created, unless you're a moderator!
Sorry guys I did it wrong. I didn't mean to post this because I was unable to create the poll. Oops.
you could PM smokestack76 the moderator with the poll details and he'll be able to create it for you....if you want? although the notion of bestest custom changes every day/week/..........
Was expecting a poll

Yes mate, lol. Took michaelm_007's deodexed release & made some build.prop / init.d tweaks. Couple o cosmetic tweaks too.
2200 on quadrant must have been a good day, bit usually 2000+, & around 375-400mb free ram.
Nice

On a par with most other sense 3 roms
I don't get too excited/upset about battery life, I do have regular access to electricity so its no problem
Of course, you notice if the battery starts draining really fast or seems unusual in some way, but wArtHog isn't like that so mostly I just use the phone & charge it when I see fit.
Peace

I did have some roms in the touch diamond 2 forum, a while back now. Think its considered a 'legacy device' now, i.e. too old to bother with lol
I did consider putting it up on the forum, but a) its running the stock kernel, so can't be o/c-ed & b) couldn't be arsed with everyone saying "why doesn't it do this?" or "make it do that" Everyone wants to either o/c or u/v or both, so its a no go.
On the plus side, with the stock kernel, everything - bt, front cam, reader, etc - works out of the box. And tbh, 1GHz is fine for me - well, look at the scores!
Peace

There's a common misconception that our device is more like a cheap version of galaxy s. Well the truth is that its more or less equally powerful , atleast in processing department.
The reason is that TI Omap is a very good processor as evidenced by Droid Xs run as the best device of its time.
also, many people have the misunderstanding that the gpu on our device Sgx 530 is a lot less powerful than the one on sgx 540. But they are completely ignoring the fact that it is overclocked. misinformations of these kinds spread through false rumors.
the gpu on the soon to be released galaxy nexus is sgx 540 , also overclocked and thus is better performing than the 540 on galaxy s.
And about our display, many tech reviews actually find the sclcd to have more natural colors and brightness than amoled. The amoled on galaxy s was especially botched up with the pentile matrix setup and incorrect color profiles.
So there guys, anyone who went for galaxy sl instead of galaxy s should regret even a bit.

Also, shouldnt*
The phone is equally good in it's own sense. I have no regrets with this phone. First HD *Well sort of* based phone I ever used. Compared to the 3GS/iPod that I constantly used before getting into the android fetish, this device is the main reason I got into hardcore android craze. So yeah, my virgin experience, thank you I9003.

Satisfaction of the phone doesn't always mean remain on stock. The question was if people regret this phone or are satisfied with Samsung's so called "SupposedtobebetterthanI9000"
I'm quite happy with this phone. And being on these forums doesnt mean I'm unsatisfied with it. Heck even if I had a Galaxy S3, I'd flash the hell outta it just for kicks
Well with that said, I DO WISH we could have functional video calls on our phone. That is all.
I think the i9003 had ****ing laggy on scrolling (on internet, apps) ... I try all firmware and tweaks and I have it.

He is asking a simple question, stop being a **** for no reason. He is being polite. You're the one that should take your own advice and be silent.
Sense does look good I agree with you on that but porting them from htc to sammy is pretty difficult, a lot of framework issues. Unfortunately, I think your best option for sense is to buy a phone for htc.

WIth just the sense ui running the os had a whole whipping like 10 mb of usable ram so NO its not viable for our phone.

sence phone's normally come with 786 mb some do have 512 mb ram for the sense ui but they uses a stripped down version of the sense ui. Trying to port those is a nightmare as most of those htc phones run something other then android or a custom version of there android os which is pretty much geared for that device so porting those wont happen.

well good luck with that ....
sence the sgs4g has 512 mb ram 130 mb is taken by the os for video audio and so on so forth which leaves about 382 or so i know we normaly have less i dont have a device in front of me
the sense ui take about 256 or so
so unless u like running ur device off 100 mb or less memory and that doesnt include actually running anything...
I wish u all well.
Dont confuse Ram with storage space as they are 2 separate things.
Well the alpha one I had iirc was running with 80+ the whole time and being alpha I'll take it for now...also most people will revert back to rom of choice(aokp/cm9) probably just want to play around with sense lol

You can't rely on other peoples feed back, every phone reacts differently to ROMs, they may all be infuses but they all are actually quite different...none of its hardware is exact...same goes with any device...they are all built to a certain scale...like as long as its with in 5-10 inches its OK, but if its under 5 or over 10 inches then its not OK (that was just something easy to relate to ..switch those measurements with what the hardware can stand temp wise, oc wise, UV wise, everything...)
Thats why some people can under volt there phone by a lot and other people can barely under volt there phone...why some people have no problem overclocking and other people experience reboots, heating...etc
That is why you really need to just try them yourself and see what happens...

Hi everyone,
I'd just like to say that as of today I have sold my One S and decided to move on the the GS3. Why? Mainly because I'm looking for something with a better and larger screen. And the fact that HTC doesn't give a crap about development for our phones. The crappy bootloader unlock has been pissing me off, especially since I am on hboot 1.14 and I have to test different ROMs very often, needing to flash in fastboot every time. Without S-OFF, this phone can never archive its full potential, such as repartitioning the nand so that more GBs are allocated for personal use.
But this doesn't mean that I will completely stop developing for the One S. I will continue to update the ParanoidAndroid and AOKP JellyBean until or if they become official. I can't be the official device maintainer though. But the builds will keep coming and shouldn't have any major issues other than the ones in CM10. The kernels, however, will probably remain how they are now because it is nearly impossible to blindly develop and debug a kernel.
Thanks for all the support here; it was TONS better than the Galaxy Player community. I appreciate all the helpfulness and attitude in these forums and what a great dev experience I've had here.
thanks for all your work. I want the gs3 to but can't justify the price

Thank u so much and enjoy with your new phone. But now I feel sad, because your kernel gives me sooo goood battery life and a very smooth phone... You didn't make the two cores to be online like the other kernel here.
So what will I do when the jelly bean come to my phone, and some new updates?? I won't have your kernal anymore.
Now there is only one kernel which I prefer not to touch, only because of the dual cores which are always online.
Also there is not much devs here... I don't believe we will see other kernels here.
So you bought a new phone and that's great for you... But I feel that we lost someone very important - you ;(
Anyway, thanks for your amazing work here.

Hi Klin, i've been using your kernels and they've been rock solid.
Thanks for everything that you've given to the one S community.
It's a pity that you're leaving, but oh well, no one will be using the same phone forever anyway.
I do agree with you that the half ass unlock is a deal breaker.
Good luck, and i hope you will continue to enjoy development with the GS3 community.

I heard the S3 is cursed. You should probably get rid of it and get the 1S back. You know, for your own protection.
Just kidding. But seriously, please don't go :crying:
