[Q] Root Official v30a - LG Optimus 3D

Is there any easy way to root the v30a for an optimus p920 without flashing bootloaders or anything else ? I also need to install CWM too..

Anyone ???

You can install CWM with this tool
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37893247
then install root with this, see #5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39130435
but I have not tried it that way myself.

I just can't install the OMAP4430 drivers as in your guide. I couldn't unbrick my phone either when it was broken. But when I brought my phone to a local service he did it pretty fast. I followed the guide step by step but whatever I do, the OMAP4430 keeps blinking under TI Boards and my windows tries to update the drivers after I install them manually and fails because the device keeps connecting and disconnecting.
I have windows 7 x64 ultimate. Any ideas ?

If OMAP4430 device appears for seconds and then disappear in your Windows Device Manager, run a cmd as an admin and type :" SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1 " and press enter, then type :" devmgmt.msc " and press enter. Choose View, Show Hidden Devices, you will see now your hidden OMAP4430 device. You may now proceed to the driver installation)

I've been considering adding this to my tutorial as a tip.
You can also quickly right click on it when it appears, as described.

The reason I have not added this to my guide already is I don't want to write a tutorial on how to use command lines . But, maybe just this little bit is OK .

I did exactly what you two told me. Still blinking in device manager and keeps connecting and disconnecting.

I guess I'll just sell it and buy an S2 or S3. It's too much to do to it even for a simple root. >.<

What version of windows are using? You should see omap device in ghost entries in device manager even when the device is not connected which will allow you to install the drivers properly.
If this still doesn't work for you, I am sure that using another pc will solve your problem.

Yes. I'm not a noob with windows commands and things like this. I did. The sound of connecting/disconnecting persists anything I do. And blinking under TI Boards and Other devices (depends if I install or not the drivers).

Be sure all things LG are uninstalled before starting. Any leftover LG drivers from previous connections of phone to pc will cause driver installation problems. Reboot pc, turn off all antivirus, antispyware, etc. Those can cause files you need to become corrupt or not appear. Then begin again. Check all details carefully. You can also run the command Karim Kahale described to stop the blinking if you can't catch omap4430 when it appears.
Unsigned drivers are a pain to deal with. It's fiddly but once you have it right, you can leave it alone and you will be ready for Fastboot, LG Flash Tool, Smartflash, ADB, or whatever.

If you are following my tutorial then something was missed or skipped.

One more thing, run all installers as administrator if your pc account is not set up that way.

I only got my user on PC, so it's administrator. I also ran all installers with administrator rights. I`m not missing and skipping anything and I DO restart everytime it says there. No luck.

Battery out of phone.
Run the command lines Karim mentioned. They must be entered exactly. The blinking will stop and you can proceed with installing omap driver. Then you must disconnect and reconnect again with vol up to let LG drivers take.

Hi Guys
last nite I finally upgraded my phone to ICS ( 30 a rom ) from GB
Now in order to root my phone can I use the easy way procedure called MEGATRON ROOT ? I think is very easy to use it!
Please advise

this is an extract from the resurrection guide. See if this helps.
If you plug your Phone on PC without battery, OMAP4430 device appeared for seconds and then disappeared in your Windows Device Manager
(check arsen4oo photo guide in post #3)
On windows 7 sometimes OMAP4430 flashes too fast so you cant install driver.
There is a a windows feature that will help you install the driver easier.
To view devices that were once installed but are no longer attached to the computer, open a Command Prompt window using the Run As Administrator option and enter the command:
SET DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES=1
Then, from the same command prompt, type devmgmt.msc to open Device Manager. Choose View, Show Hidden Devices. The new instance of Device Manager will show “ghosted” entries for devices that were once present. This technique is especially useful for fixing problems caused by leftover drivers after replacing a network card or video card—you can easily delete the ghosted device or update the OMAP4430 driver.
You are lucky. Mine doesnt even show the OMAP4430 in device manager.

Mine shows up once I have unplugged and plugged it in a million times using the resurrection guide and it never catches it I asked for help in the guide thread and nobody replied so I am sending it to LG maybe I hope they take it and when I get a new logic board I will try again lol but this time I will do the flash tool and flash both files at once not one at a time like somebody said you should I wish someone could team viewer me and see if I got everything correct but no help for me
Sent from my LG-SU760 using xda app-developers app
Mine did this after I installed the ICS update. OMAP4430 flickering in Device Manager. Watch your phone while holding power+vol_up and after about 3 seconds you will see recycling arrows and a bunch of Korean characters. Let go of the buttons as soon as you see it. Then my LG USB serial port showed up and I was able to flash. It seems that getting into download mode changes with each major sw upgrade...
Just one question...
Why are you guys trying omapboot download mode if you just want to flash ICS?
If you want to flash ICS you dont need omapboot just put phone in normal download mode...and for normal download mode you dont need the omap driver :/
Don't do unecessesary steps you are just making your life harder...omapboot download mode is only for bricked phones that dont turn on at all and have no normal download mode...
Mine would boot but couldn't flash correct baseband until I used the guide and the drivers as it wouldn't go into download mode so to me it was necessary IMO may not of been but I didn't know another way and it worked
Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
Yeah wayno i am not saying you didnt have a problem but i will tell you from my experience so far that people asked me for teamviewer sessions because they "tried everything" and didn't work but at the first 10 sessions i said ok some where missing drivers others didn't know the key combination etc etc..
When i reached the 20 teamviewer sessions it was still the same thing..old drivers, not following procedure etc etc..
At 30 teamviewer sessions the same...
40, 50 until i decided not to have any other teamviewer session because everybody said they tried everything but didnt work but "magically" with teamviewer everything worked (apart from 1 p920 that really had a hardware problem, i fixed that too with a different method).
The bad thing is that people posted in every thread in order to find a solution and actually the solution was to follow the guide (not the omapboot unbrick guide :/, the lg flashtool guide) and that made it difficult for the rest of the users, i had lg flashtool questions in rom thread, in bricks thread, in basebands thread but the right thread to ask actually was the LG Flashtool thread and if they asked there it would be easier for them to get an answer and also for the rest of the users to read..
I know this ICS is a great thing and everybody wants to try it from novice to experienced users but if we don't get organised it just gets out of hand :/ and saying the same thing in every thread is just annoying.
I know the lg flashtool guide is old but i cant make a guide for everything and reading a few pages especially in the end i have also posted there some info.
I totally understand your frustration and it did make it hard my problem was I overlooked a few things but when I got pointed in the right direction a few times lol I eventually found my way. And yes the clutter did make it hard for those who were following the rules and needed help couldn't get it cause there was just too much for the few people who understand it all. But now I got it and am trying to talk my wife into letting me do her phone lol after I failed. BTW awesome job bringing this old thing back to the forums pure genius.

[Q] restoring bricked oneplus one problem

First of all, when I'm in the wrong thread, sorry!
So here I go. I guess i bricked my 1+1. Doesn't turn on, only black screen and if i push a button, it vibrates. Looked up for solutions, and found one here somewhere. It's with the recoverytool or with ColorOS.
So I tried to follow the steps. Everything works fine, in Device Manger, the phone is now recognised as Qualcom HS_USB QDloader 9008 (COM3). Til here no problems at all. Then I installed the set-up file, compatibilitymode, run as admin.
I open the recoverytool, and i scan for the device. It should appear as COM. But nothing shows up. It's weird because Windows recognises the device.
What am I doing wrong? What can help?
Thanks

Have you installed the Qualcomm driver? Its very tricky,Windows wont allow to install it easily.
Yes I did, I was able to switch to non signed in Win8 via F7 in a menu. Thats why it changed from BULK to qualcomm qd9008 on a COM port. Or cant I be sure its done propermy when the name changed?

The easiest way for unbricking oneplus (yes, I tried it): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55024864&postcount=136
ColourOS firmware has all needed files for proper flashnig, including right tool for doing that.
Only thing that didnt work on my Win 8.1 x64 was drivers mentioned in post above.
I had to use this QHSUSB_DLOAD drivers from member DallasCZ (that I used for unbricking ZTE v9180). Only with that drivers my Windows recognized bricked phone and Flash tool could find and flash it.
Flash tool in only on chinese, that is a bit problem, but instructions given in post I linked are more/less usefull.
This is a link to DallasCZ shared folder with qhsusb drivers:
https://drive.google.com/folderview...&usp=sharing&tid=0B1T7tp6tJ_3kQkZSWjNsazJZbGc
If you are sure the driver is okay, plug in the usb cable and out and in,until you see the green line on the tool. Also you can follow the guide as in below link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tool-oneplusrecovery-tool-v1-0-restore-t2991851
The same thing but this time you can flash CM11s instead of ColorOs.Also there is a video.Pls check it.
Ok so I did the process over and over again, the sixth computer did it right! I was back on ColorOS and now back to CM11S.
This thread can be closed, thanks for the help!
No problem, glad to hear you solved the problem

To get into download mode you need make sure phone is 100% powered off then hold the volume up button and then plug in the usb cable. Dont release the power up button until the phone is fully in download mode not just the first screen. Also search for your phones adb drivers and install them to your pc not just the usb drivers. Make sure to uninstall any existing drivers first.

Did you try another pc with the adb drivers installed to see if you get the same error? If it connects on a different pc try this on the problem pc.
Open task manager
Click on the Hardware tab
Click the Device Manager button.
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers section.
Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
Restart the computer, and allow the computer to reinstall the USB controllers.
Plug in the your phone in download mode and test to to see if the issue is resolved.
You can also download Ccleaner and fix any registry errors for free. I've used it for years and it works really well.
Still no joy. Try a system restore on your pc sounds like the device management could be screwed up.
All kinds of funky sh*t can happens when a pc crashes. You said you have windows 10 as a last resort you can do a system refresh which reinstalls the os but keeps your files.

Everything you need can be found here in the LG G Stylo forums and if it's not here a google search will help.
You need...
MetroPCS 5.1.1 KDZ
LG drivers
LG Flash Tool
Download the KDZ. Install the LG drivers while you wait for the 1.2GB KDZ to be downloaded. Download the LG Flash Tool and when the KDZ has completed downloading run it as an administrator. Settings in Flash Tool should be fine. Point to the KDZ and begin the flash. Normal or CSE. Normal does not wipe data, CSE wipes all user data. You'll be prompted with something about your internet connection. Do not close this, the tool should be flashing the KDZ. Wait for the phone to be rebooted after flashing. Profit.

I was under the impression that the phone was entering dl mode but just not getting recognized by the pc. Either or you should bring it to a corporate store and tell them it boot looped while updating and play dumb. They should replace it since its under warranty. Or call lg and do it that way although its about a ten day wait.

https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tool-oneplusrecovery-tool-v1-0-restore-t2991851
Just use this one and the drivers included.
It will easily restore back to cm11s(stock KK),after that you can flash MM(Cos13.1x) if you want through fastboot.
The key-point is you need to find one of Xp systems around you and then use that because win8/10 somehow makes driver signature a headache and takes more time to set-up.

I'll check this out this evening. I'm playing hell trying to get drivers working. All the write ups I see show the opo saying qualusb in device manager upon connection and no matter what I do I can't get mine to. I've got an old laptop running win7 maybe I'll give that a shot. This would be done and over if it showed as qualusb in "ports" instead of adb interface in "usb".
Thanks for the info.

Remove all other drivers.
Again,XP is advisable,I don't think it takes long to dual boot XP alongside.
Downgraded to Windows 7, now the phone shows up as Qualcomm, but still can't get the program to recognize. Bootable xp drive failed, will try disc when I get home.

Sorry for late reply. It should be "Qhs_bulk" or "qualcomm_diagnostics9006" not just "Qualcomm".
Just try refreshing through Ebus button and make sure you're using original 1+ cable and try changing ports likewise.
I'd still say try with XP,use rufus to make a bootable usb and if you're good to go.After you setup the drivers(from thread link I gave you or from the zip itself), make sure you run the program as an administrator.

I've got it so it says qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008. I'll continue refreshing and swapping ports. I've used Rufus and four whatever reason it's giving me bsod when booting via USB. I'll give a disc a try.

You can use other software than rufus for XP but that'll make the process too slow, atleast while installing XP.
But a CD always does the work perfectly for XP!

I tried a straight jump from win 10 to xp with a disc and the installation option was grayed out, maybe with 7 it'll give me that option back. I'll burn a new one this evening and give it a go.
