Bricked my OPO somehow flashing cosmic OS. I get the load screen and thats it. no recovery and no fastboot. I've found a million tutorials on how to fix a hard brick, but all of them show the opo in device manager as qualcomm. I've downloaded some drivers but not sure what to do from here to get that to read qualcomm so i can start the unbrick process. any help or suggestions?

Forget all the other guides...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/tool-oneplusrecovery-tool-v1-0-restore-t2991851
Just use this one and the drivers included.
It will easily restore back to cm11s(stock KK),after that you can flash MM(Cos13.1x) if you want through fastboot.
The key-point is you need to find one of Xp systems around you and then use that because win8/10 somehow makes driver signature a headache and takes more time to set-up.

I'll check this out this evening. I'm playing hell trying to get drivers working. All the write ups I see show the opo saying qualusb in device manager upon connection and no matter what I do I can't get mine to. I've got an old laptop running win7 maybe I'll give that a shot. This would be done and over if it showed as qualusb in "ports" instead of adb interface in "usb".
Thanks for the info.

Again,XP is advisable,I don't think it takes long to dual boot XP alongside.
Downgraded to Windows 7, now the phone shows up as Qualcomm, but still can't get the program to recognize. Bootable xp drive failed, will try disc when I get home.

Sorry for late reply. It should be "Qhs_bulk" or "qualcomm_diagnostics9006" not just "Qualcomm".
Just try refreshing through Ebus button and make sure you're using original 1+ cable and try changing ports likewise.
I'd still say try with XP,use rufus to make a bootable usb and if you're good to go.After you setup the drivers(from thread link I gave you or from the zip itself), make sure you run the program as an administrator.

You can use other software than rufus for XP but that'll make the process too slow, atleast while installing XP.
But a CD always does the work perfectly for XP!

Was it recognized before, or is the first time you are trying it?
Did also try manually updating drivers.....right clicking on device in "Device manager".so on....
Also try http://www.capfaq.com/w/USB_drivers and use the samsung drivers.....
I have had continuous problems with Win 7 64-bit......maybe you should just try 32-bit?

Also, if you have Win XP that will help...........

The problem is you're running CM7 and trying to use the Samsung drivers. You should be using Google's USB drivers with CM7 on Captivate. Open up SDK Manager and make sure Google's USB drivers are installed, then go into Device Manager in control panel and manually update your phone drivers. Point it to the driver folder in the SDK Manager installation folder.
Your OS or 32-bit/64-bit or Kies or any of that junk does not matter.

You said you have used Odin and Windows drivers from designgears post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=731989
and you have done that several times. That's quite different from Google USB drivers???
If the Windows drivers is true, the try the attached drivers from Samsung. Uninstall all previous drivers completely, including Google USB, the REBOOT.
Install new dirivers, THEN attach phone.
good luck !

Did you try all the USB ports on your computer one by one. I mean ALL. That is another common issue......maybe you already did
that ?????
Also, what is the exact OS you are trying on.......I know one case where after a lot of trying, installing the 32-bit DRIVER on 64-bit OS actually made the difference.
Before all this try the USB ports cycle.

When i plugged it in my computer recognized the phone i clicked start and it failed because my phone stopped being recognized by my computer. (i can get into download mode with no issue.) Now when i plug it in it just says usb device not recognized. I have uninstalled reinstalled drivers several times. tried multiple cables multiple computers. It also says gadget serial in the device name when its trying to auto find the driver... strange. I just need my phone back together lol. I was working on this til 3 am last night and had to run to walmart to get a cheap alarm clock to wake me up for work this morning at 6 any help is appreciated

Not to be a ****, but I am reporting this thread to the mods and asking them to move it to the q&a section.
To fix your issue, using my odin 1 click (gremlin remover), start the 1-click, then boot into dl mode. If device still isn't recognized, go into device manager right click on the device and update drivers manually. Reboot phone into dl mode and all should be well.
Also once you reinstall drivers or update them, reboot your computer. That always helps the computer recognize my phone when I have this issue. Good luck.

Start Oden first then plug in the phone give Oden a second to find the phone. When the box on the upper left turn yellow then you can start. Directions work for both one click GR and regular Oden.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
under device manager it shows error code 43 on "unknown device" no matter how i install or dont install drivers... use kies or not use kies... let windows find it or not.... just doesnt work
brighter minds than min here, but "one-click" and "odin" are different routes to the same end, aren't they? But if you start with heimdall and that fails, you will likely get the drivers issue when you try odin. I suggest opening device manager on your Win machine and removing all drivers related to the phone as storage device or whatever. Then reboot your machine. When you get to your desktop, open odin (my preferred tool), then with your phone powered down, hold vol-up+vol-down together and connect the phone to your usb cable. Win should find the drivers and load them, and odin should see your phone.
Gonna steal something from lumin30 here.
* * If you have used your phone on every USB Port and/or have no idea where all you have plugged your phone into or used ODIN or Heimdall with - Download [usbdeview-x32.zip] for 32-bit operating systems or [usbdeview-x64.zip] for 64-bit operating systems. Uninstall anything you see that has Samsung and Android related.

I was using one click root Kingo root and when it was 66% done it was rebooting my phone into firmware download and my computer running Windows 10 froze to where I had to hard reset it, and my phone froze on firmware update. Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop on the LG life's good screen, I've tried hard resetting it ( with the volume down and power button combo) the Android guy pops up for one millisecond and disappears going back to the LG screen not doing anything the only other the only other thing I can do is go into downloading mode( while connected to a computer hold the volume button up) but when I do that my computer does not recognize my phone saying code 10 device cannot start up I have called LG they refused to help me get into recovery mode I have called Google Android support they don't know how to help I have also called windows trying to see if it was my computer's fault and they decided it wasn't I am kind of out of options I'm hoping someone knows how to help me I'll appreciate any help I can get thank you.
You need to download a MetroPCS KDZ and use rhe LG Flash Tool to flash the KDZ and bring your phone back to life.

To get into download mode you need make sure phone is 100% powered off then hold the volume up button and then plug in the usb cable. Dont release the power up button until the phone is fully in download mode not just the first screen. Also search for your phones adb drivers and install them to your pc not just the usb drivers. Make sure to uninstall any existing drivers first.

Did you try another pc with the adb drivers installed to see if you get the same error? If it connects on a different pc try this on the problem pc.
Open task manager
Click on the Hardware tab
Click the Device Manager button.
Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers section.
Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time.
Restart the computer, and allow the computer to reinstall the USB controllers.
Plug in the your phone in download mode and test to to see if the issue is resolved.
You can also download Ccleaner and fix any registry errors for free. I've used it for years and it works really well.
Still no joy. Try a system restore on your pc sounds like the device management could be screwed up.
All kinds of funky sh*t can happens when a pc crashes. You said you have windows 10 as a last resort you can do a system refresh which reinstalls the os but keeps your files.

Everything you need can be found here in the LG G Stylo forums and if it's not here a google search will help.
You need...
MetroPCS 5.1.1 KDZ
LG drivers
LG Flash Tool
Download the KDZ. Install the LG drivers while you wait for the 1.2GB KDZ to be downloaded. Download the LG Flash Tool and when the KDZ has completed downloading run it as an administrator. Settings in Flash Tool should be fine. Point to the KDZ and begin the flash. Normal or CSE. Normal does not wipe data, CSE wipes all user data. You'll be prompted with something about your internet connection. Do not close this, the tool should be flashing the KDZ. Wait for the phone to be rebooted after flashing. Profit.

hey all...i need help did anyone been able to succefly msm his phone on a virtualbox? i had setup everything on a win7 wnd win 10 machine every driver and all so the msm detect my phone and all and its says conected but as soon as i press start boom "sahara conexion failed" its driving me nuts i have tried everything drivers the + and power button nothing work.....i need help urgently
so here is the conclusion after long testing msmtool does not work on virtualisation i tried (virtualbox and qemu/kvm)....my problem was almost similar to this
crispy-cat said:
So, my phone's bricked - it won't boot, just brings up fastboot. As the solution to this problem appears to be to use the MSM tool to do an "actual" factory reset, I downloaded the MSM tool, and the decrypted ROM from this link: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682918291.
First I tried this on a Windows 7 VirtualBox VM (I use Ubuntu on my actual computer). The drivers didn't even install right it seems, and the device (in EDL mode) wasn't even recognized. Then I tried it on my mom's Windows 10 laptop. MSM never showed the device as connected. I think possibly the lack of a USB 2 port could be the cause.
Finally I set up a basic VM with Windows 10 and a USB 2 controller, and it worked-ish. MSM recognized the device, showed it as connected and started doing its thing, but stopped at "Sahara Communication failed". What is preventing it from getting past this? I'm using the cable provided in the box. Everything is recognized correctly. I've retried multiple times but still the same result.
SUCCESS!
I had a spare laptop lying around, and it has USB 2 ports. I loaded WIndows 10 onto it and tried the MSM from there -- AND IT WORKED!
As much as I hate Qualcomm for their monopolistic business practices, I thank them for EDL mode. I also thank OnePlus for somehow failing to prevent the MSM tool from entering the hands of the public every time, and @Some_Random_Username for trafficking this good. Yeet!

The USB controller is part of VirtualBox. I think you need to download and install the extensions pack for the USB 2.0 version. The problem is that the controller is not capable of the absolute direct communication that the software needs to work, or it just doesn't connect fast enough. This would be a great example of why Windows on a USB would be great, since you could just boot it. But then MS wouldn't be able to make its billions. So we lose.
I'd try VMWare and KVM to see if they do any better. I'm not sure if WINE supports USB passthrough or not. Otherwise try to find a Windows box you can use.
