Hi,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 SHV E210L from one of my friend. I didn't notice that it has a problem while taking a call when I bought it. Even after updated with official firmware, it still give the problem. When I take a call, it suddenly gets dropped. I can see that the call is still connected; but I hear nothing and the other party hears nothing. Then I have to cut the call and redial again. I am really sick of this, it is really frustrating.
I need to somehow get rid of this. I looked for custome roms for S3 SHV E210L version, and didn't find any.
Please advice me how to get rid of this stupid headache! Thank you in advance for any advice! I really appreciate if someone could help!!!
Thanks!!!1

I found no solutions! And I lost my faith on Samsung totally!!! I just gave up buying expensive devices for the needs that we originally don't have; but later marketers implant inside our minds. Now I am a simple guy who would not hope to buy the best thing having spent a lot and end-up being frustrated. So I rather considered buying cheaper stuff, so that the frustration would become less, if that thing didn't function well.
I would not recommend anybody to buy Samsung now. Read this book The Willpower Instinct: How Self-Control Works, Why It Matters, and What You Can Do to Get More of It by Kelly McGonigal :good: and you would find a permanant solution that would keep you safe and away from these expensive crappy devices and the marketers who play with our desires, minds and our money.
I bought a Moto-G for 199 Dollars and it works 1000 times better than the crappy Galaxy S3. The right thing for you is not the most expensive thing that you can ever have. :good:
Has anyone found a solution yet for the Call drops on the Samsung Galaxy S3 SHV E210L? Experiencing the same issues. Please post a solution if you found one!
Thnx!

In phone dialer type in *#9090# then choose network mode set then choose gsm, then no more drop calls!

Dial 319712358, pass 0821 for E210L, and then go to Network Settings, select WCDMA All which is 3G only, and you got modem working on 3G only and no call drops, or select GSM ALL, 2G Only no drop calls. Most of the Korean S3 LTE have this issues. The reason is since these models do not do the network switch when making calls, could be faulty modem or other unknown reasons. Even flashing a custom ROM wont sort it out. All you got to do is select WCDMA ALL OR GSM ALL for call drops, for data network if you have issues, go to APN Settings and on APN type write "default, suppl" and save apn , reboot and no more issues connecting to data network, good luck

Hi guys, i've tried to search in this forum for a solution in this case, but nothing worked so far. Here's what happened.
In my vacations, I bought a Galaxy S III in Panamá, in a nice shop. They opened the sealed box of the phone in my face. Tested it, everything seemed to be fine and working...
When i get to Argentina (where i live), i realized that there was no sound at all coming out of the phone, no output whatsoever, nor speaker, nor headset, nor any kind of notification.
It worked the sound once for only 15 seconds, i could listen to youtube songs and default ringtones, but then, it stopped working again.
Came with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and installed 4.1.2 to see if there was a software issue. Didn't work.
Tried using SoundAbout, i could listen to the sound now, but SOOOOOOOO LOW. Tried installing Volume+ FREE but haven't done anything so far. And the sound is screwed up again.
Tried calling SAMSUNG here in Argentina but they said they couldn't do anything since my phone was purchased outside the country.
Tried calling a Service to repair it here, they told me they couldn't do anything because the components are different.
Checked every single forum in the net to see if there's a solution of it, saw that there were a lot of people having the SAME exactly problem with factory Galaxy S III's, there must be the chinese version which is failing! All the people with this concern just changed their phone for another one... but i can't, i can't go to Panama again to change this.
What am i supposed to do? Try a downgrade maybe? or other Kernel? help me please, i'm pretty newbie too.
No one knows? :S Please help.

Oh, can anyone move this post to the international forum? Don't know where i am
Hello everybody! Thanks for coming if you're here to help, I really need it, I want to find out if factory resetting is the only option because I want to keep my phone rooted, and there's so much stuff that I don't want to transfer over...
Anyways, my sms messages take around 10 - 20 minutes to send, if they even send at all, and yes, i'm at a spot where my signal is max, as my house has the best signal of all of the places I go to and this recently started happening right after I rooted. Also, when I download something via the play store, it downloads very very quickly(5mb/s), then just pauses at 61% or 88% randomly and doesn't move...
Anyone know what the problem is?
Got this fixed, thanks anyways, sorry for the useless thread here...
What was your fix. I'm waiting for a replacement phone because my text to other non sprint carriers will send out but they won't get received.
What did you do to fix it?

I now have this problem, so would be GREAT if you told us how you have fixed this issue. Thanks
so basically here's the issue... I haven't rooted my s5 ..yet...i bought this phone 07/16/14 ...however i noticed since the last two weeks i've been missing calls .. meaning the phone doesn't ring on the receiving end...at all...i don't know if its a tower issue ...but i have another S5 user in my home thats on my account and has no issue receiving calls ...i did everything from calling customer service and did the phone reset #whatever# ...also reset the profiles and all ...even to the point of going to the repair store (sprint) and their saying is not a phone issue but a tower issue (...really :roll eyes: ) so how come the other device in my home isn't having the same issue....so my plea to the gr8 ppl of XDA what other suggestions can you advise me ?
thanks in advance.
My wifes s5 lost call volume and speaker volume within the first week. We made them replace it. If a factory reset and a prl update has not done it, than force the.. it is a hardware issue and dont take no for an answer. The volume has nothing to do with the towers. Turn the phone full blast and have them call it. Have the other s5 there and trade calls to prove the point. Dont take no for an answer is the important thing.
---------- Post added at 09:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:40 PM ----------
Let us know how it works out.
This should probably be under Q/A or general....as for the issue its probably hardware related, try updating to the latest version of stock android for the S5 (if possible).

Ok u guys understand that if the phone is rooted the Warranty Is Now Void.
I work for sprint. I root all my devices.
And honestly im tired of the network issues. But if u modify your phone. In any way. We will not exchange it. Fortunately for most, sprint employees dont know how to check or verify if the phone has been modified.
But just remember. Modified = No warranty.
Or wait the 2-4 weeks for samsung to replace it. IF they dont catch your modded system.
Rant over. Hahahahah
Thats correct. I am not advising that he root his phone as that will not help the issue. He is Definatly dealing with a hardware problem. I have seen several similar posts as well as what i experienced. The only way to correct this is to get a replacement.
Follow up
i've done some field testing on my part to verify if there is a hardware issue vs signal issue...here's what was done ...from my home where i origially have the problem where my phone is the only S5 that is not able to recieve calls....so i drove about 4-5 miles away from home and i was able to recieve calls...i can't take the phone to the repair sprint store because they're 5-6 miles and when they do their testing there...the calls go through..
Have you tried to update profile via the sprint app. Sorry i was under the impression you were missing all youe calls due to phone not ringing.
Hey guys, up til this week I have thoroughly enjoyed my Note Edge however, as of late the phone has stopped receiving calls from my wife's iPhone 5s at least 90% of the time. I say only my wife's phone because thus far I don't know if anyone else has tried to call me. I was wondering if anyone else on the Verizon version, or any version, is having this same issue or if there's at least someone that might be able to suggest some ideas to try and remedy this. Thanks guys in advance for your help

That is very odd. It shouldn't be doing that. I have had the phone since launch and haven't had that issue. Have you installed the advanced calling feature on your phone? What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
I haven't tried any in depth troubleshooting yet, as it seems the kink might have worked itself out, or I could potentially chalk it up to Verizon's weaker service in NW Louisiana. But I'm going to try some things out tomorrow and see how that goes. I haven't installed the advanced calling feature either. How do I get that set up?
So while trying to take pics my camera settings and menus will not rotate with the phone rotations. Pics are turning out upside down and sideways. Any one else?

Yea, is been happening to me the last 2 days, ive been reading on the net it has been happening allot, no fix for it yet.
Allot of verizon people are having this issue. The said the sensors are bad if you look and check, dial *#0*#
Hopefully they come out with a hardware update or someone figures this out. I don't feel like taking my phone back, some people have done this already and its happen to the second phone.

Did you do the software update on yours? My update is ready but wondering if that's what messed up my first edge
---------- Post added at 02:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:37 PM ----------
Ok I just finished a conversation with Samsung and here it is
Santino: Hi, thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support. How may I help you today?
Ryan: Hello. I am on my second s6 edge. My first got the rotate screen issue. Is this caused from the update or is it a hardware issue? My #2 edge I haven't updated yet. Should I avoid this update?
Santino: Hi Ryan!
Santino: I am sorry to know that you are facing issue with the device after the software update.
Santino: I will be happy to help you.
Santino: As of now we have not encountered with the issue you are referring on the device.
Santino: Please provide me the Baseband version of the device. You can locate it under Apps > Settings > About device > Baseband version.
Ryan: ***** I have read this has happened to several people on sprint and Verizon.
Santino: Thank you.
Ryan: I have been reading its an issue with the gyroscope. Not sure if it actually goes bad or if the software messes it up? Some people have gone through 3+ edges with the same issue
Santino: Your device operates on Android™ version 5.0.2, Lollipop (G925PVPU1AOCF).
Santino: As of now have not encountered with the issue you are referring on the device. I recommend you update the software on device.
Ryan: It wouldn't have anything to do with the rapid charging that makes the gyroscope defective would it? I would have to have to go get a third phone. If this update messes my phone up I may consider a different brand of phone
Santino: I do understand your concern Ryan.
Ryan: Is there a supervisor that may know of issues with the edge? I read that Samsung and carriers are aware of the rotating issues.
Santino: Could you provide me with the Samsung link were the issue has been posted.
Ryan: It was on some android sites
Santino: I apologize, Samsung does not confirms the issue that are posted on Non-Samsung sites.

Sorry for all of the comments. Last one. I just talked to another support person and here is his answers. He says this whole rotation issue is software related and will be fixed
Adan: Hi, thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support. How may I help you today?
Ryan: I just thought I would ask a second agent before taking my chances. I am on my second s6 edge (Sprint). My last one had the auto rotate issue. Was curious if its the update or a hardware issue? Not wanting to go back and get a third device so I haven't installed the update yet on this one
Adan: Hello Ryan!
Adan: I understand your concern. I will help you out with the information on Screen rotation.
Adan: The Screen rotation is a Software issue Ryan.
Ryan: Should I avoid the update that is currently available?
Adan: If you do not update the device now, you will be prompted in the future to update the device. Initially you will have the update the device later Ryan.
Ryan: I turned off automatic updates so it doesn't install unless I tell it to. Are you saying I will have to do this update to install the fixed update when it is available?
Adan: Not to worry, as you mentioned that the earlier device was facing the issue after the update, there will also be a fix for the issue. They will release a fix for the issue.
Ryan: My question is can I skip this current update and wait for the one with the fixes?
Adan: You might not be able to skip the current update Ryan. The other update will only be prompted on the device if you are updated to the latest version of Android for the device.
Ryan: so basically I can wait for the new update to be announced and then update to the bad one that's available now and then I will get a notice to update to the fixed software?
Adan: Yes Ryan. I am positive that the issue might not persists after updating to the software that you have now.
Ryan: How close is Samsung to releasing a patch to fix this issue? I have 13 more days I can return this phone if it happens again. Id hate to have to go back to an iPhone
Adan: The Update is a carrier specification and it differs from carrier to carrier , However, once the update is released you will be notified by the carrier through notifications on the device and also it will be posted on the Samsung Website.
Ryan: has the update already been made available and I am now just waiting on sprint to release it?
Adan: As of now the update has not yet been released Ryan.
Ryan: How soon until it is or do you have any knowledge on that? Like I mentioned I have less than 2 weeks to decide if I should keep this phone
Adan: I am afraid we at Samsung live chat do not have the information on the release dates of the updates. I do understand that you have 2 weeks for replacement.
Adan: Not to worry Ryan, the fix will be released for the device.
Had the same issue with my phone. Had to bring it back and get another one.
Wife's phone had the same problem, I've got verizon she has sprint, they replaced hers. Hopefully not a occurring problem
Auto Rotate / Edge lighting on 128 GB Model
I received my edge on Thursday of last week. Which was on the 16th. I had no problems until yesterday of the Auto Rotation. I downloaded a Auto rotater app to see if it will rotate. It will rotate if you lock it into landscape mode. But If you don't it will not rotate. I also noticed Calendar does not rotate and messages do not rotate and neither does web pages. But Full Screen Movies and Music will rotate even with Google apps. Not just youtube. I also noticed that if you play with home button clicking on it several times it will rotate the screen for a second then if tilted it rotate back. This could be just a fluke but I did notice this. I do not think it is the fast charger because if something was to burn out it wouldn't last for 10 days. Or it wouldn't last over 2 days beside when something burns out it's electrical it would smell like burning no matter if it was very small it still would smell like something has or had burnt. Especially when they say the battery is getting hot enough to burn it out. I had this on the charger for 2 days off and on and it never got so much as luke warm. Mine stays on the y axis at -39.23, and seems to be fine on the x axis. Maps do not rotate. either. So what I do know is out of the blue my phone did a reset a day before this happened. I did not reset the phone it seemed to be fine after. But Monday morning I saw the Camera Icons all upside down. I then did a factory reset and did not install any apps. Even after the Reset I still couldn't get rotation to work, another thing I would like to note is Edge Lighting never worked out of the box. I tested it multiple times and didn't really care if I had that or not. But now I do care. But I also don't want to go back and get a new one. Here is some of the issues why, No Verizon carrier in my area has the 128 gb model on hand. I would have to wait 3 to 5 days for one from Verizon if they had them. Which then put me out of the range anyway to get a brand new one. On top of this when I got to print the return label it states I am over the 14 days. Which I just got my phone last week so this blows.
I can return it to the store I am told by Verizon but either for a 32 or 64GB model. I really don't want to down grade. So in the end is this or is this not a Software issue. All of Im finding is debating on it is and that it isn't.

I have a brand new S6 Edge just received today and the rotation doesn't work. Seems to be a common issue but Samsung has no idea how to fix it and told me to exchange it. Well, because I am on a Sprint SWAC account and there are no corporate stores around my area that is a HUGE pain to do. Should have stuck with my gut and got the M9
I got a new one and haven't used fast charge yet. So I am going to watch it. But my edge lighting is working. Which makes me a feel bit better . This one still still shows china. But I won't take my chances and fast charge it. I have had it less than 24 hrs. So I will keep and eye on it.

Mine works fine but here's what the update is about https://community.sprint.com/baw/mo...jive-document?content=/api/core/v2/posts/6365
It looks like the updated fixed the issue by changing the rotation to the gyro and not the accelerometer. What I was told is that if you check it's still stuck at the wrong degree.

If you are or were rooted and have not tripped knox, you need to use Odin to get back to stock firmware state OCF. Then you can get the update.
