[Sound MOD] [MF9/MDL] BMSound_Full the deep bass works on Sprint SPH-L720 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Themes and Apps

Even though I flashed this with NO ISSUES whatsoever, please, for the love of God and all that is holy in the Android universe: Make a backup before flashing this! I am not responsible for what you do to your phone.
That being said: Guys...I have found what could quite possibly be the best sound mod for our phones ever. :victory:
1) first go to noskojv's thread and thank HIM NOT ME! I didn't write this mod but when I find something awesome I feel the need to share.
2) next if you have CWM go here to flash it.
3) if you're like me and you have TWRP go here to flash it.
Basically fauxsound will increase your gain (loudness) and Beats EQ will "clean up" any distortion. Beats EQ alone will not make your speaker louder.
To access the screens you see attached:
For the Beats EQ/ Music FX menu from the home screen select menu >> settings >> my device >> sound >> music effects
For the Beats EQ preset menu simply open your app drawer and find the app called BeatsEQ
Enjoy my Sprint brothers! :victory:
I also included a screenshot of my fauxsound settings.
Note: faux123's kernel OR ktoosez's kernel (which I use) found here and fauxsound are REQUIRED for fauxsound to work. You may use Beats EQ without fauxsound but if your intent on using this mod is for a volume increase Beats EQ alone will not accomplish this.
****Fauxsound will not work with any other kernel.****
***Note: I'm pretty sure Beats EQ is for Touchwiz ROMs only!

Nice! Thanks for forwarding along. I'll try it later.

You're welcome buddy. Those screenshots are from my phone. I had no issues flashing this with TWRP whatsoever. It should install with ease.

I downloaded and installed the twrp version everything went smooth but when I select an option and apply it I have to wait for it to force close before I can do the next step and it didn't sound any better than using the Volume + I downloaded from the play store but thanks for sharing I want flaming just giving my experience with it every device handles things differently

what kernel are you using? and did you clear cache and dalvik when you installed? I get no force closes at all. What ROM are you running? Try and reboot and see if it clears up your issue. I've used volume+ and I can tell you this is definitely better. My ROM/Kernel setup is in my signature.

I do notice the difference more on my jbl bluetooth external speakers. there's more options like the strength of the eq setting and bass strength under the headphones and bluetooth tabs.
I think for Michael Bolton you'd love the 'R&B' setting the best. I listen to a lot of trip-hop and trance and it sounds great.
I wish I could demo my sound but unfortunately that would require me to be there in person but its pretty good!

Ahh KT uses fauxsound. The link to download it from the market is in my OP.
I use fauxsound to increase my GAIN (make it louder) and essentially use this mod to reduce the distortion and the result is great sound. Even on the crappy speaker in the back of the phone.

Just embarrassed my friend with the HTC One. My speaker got WAY louder than his. And this makes my Beats headphones sound incredible
Ps. Used Fauxsound and Ktoonz kernel to increase speaker gain

[Guide] 10/30/11 Boosted UI Sounds Volume for Ringtones and Notifications+ Downloads

This is for everyone who wants ringtones or notifications to have a higher volume, due to the poor speaker volume on the Sensation. A couple of things for people who want them done.
-I do full or short clips of songs or notification
-Please post your song that you want done through an upload site(megaupload..etc.)
-Please tell me which part of the song you want done or if you want the entire song boosted.
-Doing this on my own time so please be patient, I usually get them done the same day you ask for them.
-If it is a generic notification in the Sensation Roms no need to post I have them.
-Sometimes I have the song you are already looking for if it is rap or hip-hop music, so if it is this genre just let me know the name of the song and what part/time of the song you want done.
- Works on all Roms(Sense, CM7, and MIUI)
UPDATE 10-18-11
I boosted all of the stock notifications in the Sensation. Ringtones will be coming soon.
-To use them open the .rar file
-copy all notifications into either system/media/audio/notifications/...
-OR copy to sdcard/media/audio/notifications/...(all depends on if you have this folder already) (I recommend using this method first)
-If you do not want duplicates, backup and then delete the notifications in this folder before copying the BOOSTED versions.
-Please DO NOT use these in your Custom ROMS without asking me, I don't mind just took a little time to boost each file so I would also like some credit.

- Adjust bar to 7dB
- Now go to Effects

Boosted kernel + volume+ = incredible gain
For incalls volume too

You can use simple programs like Goldwave+ and open the sound, boost volume by 150-200% and reduce bass a little , then save ans you should be good to go
Use to do it on my DHD but have no time nowadays

Beats Audio on our Charge

I was browsing the Rezound development section today(just felt like seeing how lively it was in case i decide to jump aboard the Rezound ship) and I found a thread that puts Beats Audio on all your apps, I checked the comments and the OP said he's tested it on the Charge and it works. Says it should be compatible with all ROMs in fact.
"*SHOULD* be compatible with all roms on all devices running 2.3 and up.
I have tested it on
Rezound, Fascinate , Charge, Galaxy Nexus, OG Droid , and Droid 3 ... seemed to work on all those ."
I have yet to test it as I don't very much care for Beats Audio, just thought I'd share.

Yes
Beats is only good if you like a whole bunch of bass and nothing else. It sounds like a complete muddy mess to my ears. My girlfriend has a Rezound and it sounds like crap to me. It has no tonal balance whatsoever and there's no way to adjust it. To each their own, but I need some treble.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk 2
Beats is just a predefined EQ setting, nothing more and nothing less. It's good for hip hop, dance music, and some pop if you're using headphones. Other than that, worthless. And, if you have Voodoo Sound, it'll do a better job on your headphones than Beats will.
Voodoo Sound > Beats.
You can see what beats is doing here, but note that the frequency response curve the HTC One X as measured here is borked to begin with. It is still easy to see what the Beats EQ is doing though.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/608713/htc-one-x/30#post_8419982
So yeah, screw Beats and their stupid crap.
Voodoo FTW. Seriously, Voodoo is underrated around here. IT IS FREAKIN' AWESOME.
I suggest Neutron Player if you want more flexibility than the Voodoo Sound Bass Boost.
Lastly, anybody have DSP Manager working on the Charge?

I would guess that it would be included in jt's CM9 ROM, no? Other than that, I don't think anyone has it working on Gingerbread (please correct me if I'm wrong).
If you're looking for legit EQ abilities, check out PowerAmp if you haven't already.

I was more curious than anything. Voodoo is awesome already.
I recommend Neutron Player if you want to really tailor your sound. Poweramp, IMO, ruins sound quality when any of the tone or EQ filters are active (even with neutral adjustments, just having it toggled on.)
Neutron iz the biz.
Voodoo Sound Plus is about as essential on this phone as Root Explorer or Titanium Backup. Seriously, it's that good.

I've run it on EP4 and it runs fine. You just have to get the apk and install it.
Yes, Voodoo Sound really is that good. I've been using since day 1 of getting my Charge(almost a year ago). And yes, Beats is just a sales gimmick. I only posted this as I'm sure there are some people who would like to try out Beats on a non-HTC phone. I'm tempted to try it just to see how high i can get the bass to kick on this phone without distorting my music but Voodoo + Poweramp presets works fine for me at the moment.

Believe me, the i9103 stock headphones are not really good. The Galaxy S ones are way better.
I have tested lots of different models. Stock headphones are usually crap. Unless you go above 25$ aftermarket you won't get any advantage with voodoo driver, as it is impossible to notice being narrowed to a small freq range. That's why I was surprised at that EQ curve.

I think, just like me,
DSP SETTING:
Compression is disabled
Bass Boost: Enabled
Bass Boost: Effect strength is Extreme
Equalizer: Enabled
with Preset: Bass booster.
Also, if you want to search good earphone, then can search over flipkart. its best way to found.

The only decent ear pieces you can get on that price range is still creative ep-630 i guess. But If you can go I little higher and find a good deal go for Tekfusion Twinwoofer. I got a set for 1200INR but its got much costlier now. For me it beats Sennheiser cx-180 maybe even cx-300 atleast on the highs and the mids. The lows however could be a bit better. Trust me it gives a real punching bass.
But remember you need to burn those for atleast 100 hours before you start judging it. The burn in guide comes along it.
Sorry Vikesh could not resist myself

Tried acid, my music player stopped working...

You have to delete music fx or DSP. Whatever your ROM uses for an equalizer. I use noozoxide and awesome beats no problems.

Hey ct,
Its not only you.. Ac!d is really finicky and it is has been a different experience on different roms and phones.
You can't combine the walkman with any other sound mods, so if you picked walkman and awesome beats your probably having force closes.
I also have never delete music effects, I dont know how you would assign the phone to use noozxoide with the music effects under sound if you deleted it. But you cannot combine this with other eqs si make dsp or anything is froozen or deleted.
My typical install is this..
Wipe cache/dalvik, flash acid v5
Choose samsung, samsung, skip walkman, noozxoide and wipe cache/dalvik, fix permissions and reboot.
I then edit the build prop... (if you already see this then there is no need to add it. It just never edits my build prop when I flash it alone.)
###AC!D*Sound*Tweaks*by*R-ikfoot####Sony*Xloud*&*Clearbass*+ro.semc.sound_effects_enabled=truero.semc.xloud.supported=truepersist.service.xloud.enable=1ro.semc.enhance.supported=truepersist.service.enhance.enable=1ro.semc.clearaudio.supported=truepersist.service.clearaudio.enable=1ro.somc.dmnorm.supported=truepersist.service.dmnorm.enable=1ro.sony.walkman.logger=1ro.somc.clearphase.supported=truepersist.service.clearphase.enable=1#Resamplingaf.resampler.quality=255persist.af.resampler.quality=255#Beats*Enginehtc.audio.swalt.enable=1htc.audio.swalt.mingain=14512**
Save changes, reboot.
Go into settings/sound/music effects/set noozxoide.
Start listening to music. If your using google music then noozxoide will show up under equalizer.
Hope this works for you. If you can get it working right +good headphones= musical bliss!!

Does adding AC!D improve call quality as well..I think i remember reading that somewhere
I don't delete music effects, I delete music FX, and then I can choose between noozoxide and beats. Ac!d sound has been the best option for me to install a better eQ on the gsiii. I've been using it since July.

Its really a phone to phone basis. Some have said that it causes echo during calls
But I have never had that issue.

yeah but acid should work properly out of the box.. its a hit or miss if you get it working without call echo or ringtone cutoff.
It's also an option in the installer. Just don't use any of the other add ons. I used those options the first time I flashed. Now I'm a noozoxide head. Best I've heard my phone sound.

I don't understand Awesome Beats. Tried both v3 and v4, both sound like crap. Bass gets all distorted. Tried on the stock headphones as well as a set of Sony DJ headphones.
Back to my custom DSPManager install for me...

Noozxoide over Awesome Beats or by itself?
In pretty happy with my current DSP setup, except it doesn't seem to affect music played using Google Play Music. Always looking to improve it though.

Noozxoide by itself. And you need to have your DSP frozen or just delete it.

Its the only thing you should install when installing acid. When flashing, In the aroma setup choose.. samsung/samsung/skipwalkman/noozxoide.
This will put noozxoide on your phone.
You can also download it from the app store.

does it apply the same affects if download from play store vs flashing it?
thanks for the awesome beats!

[Request] Beats/Acid/EQ?

Is there a way to flash an apk or zip file to get a system wide EQ on our phone like Beats? The sound output via the headphones is soooooo low. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!
Viper4Android is by far the best IMO. It's a much easier install than AC!D as well. Beats(even Awesome Beats) was always garbage to me. Especially compared to AC!D/Viper4Android.

Seems like I have to edit build props to get Viper to work?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I've decided to give a try to the Beats Audio™ PRO that used before on my N7 which is now outdated on playstore...if you find it and it works for you it is night and day compared to the original output. There is no equalization but IMO there is no need to. You can still play with EQ with your music player (I use poweramp). I've tried several DSP managers (downloaded, integrated in custom roms, etc...) but nothing comes close this mode. The only inconvience - you need to be root.

Don't really need to. The stock ROM doesn't contain the lines to edit anyways.
Viper works, I highly recommend if using with a good IRS. Works great on my Nexus 5!! Best audio mod I've used.
Okay. I had installed beats on a previous phone awhile ago and wasn't at all impressed. The EQ in poweramp was good enough. However, seen this thread today and figured I'd give viper a shot being as how a couple people recommended it. Well, I am quite impressed. I've tried it on phone speaker and Bluetooth and it definitely offers an improvement, especially on Bluetooth. Hopefully, it is just as good on the headset, haven't been able to test it out yet. But yeah, definitely worth installing.

Do you have the "Enable/V4A-FX is powered on" check box checked for the output you're using? There is one to check for Bluetooth, Speaker, and Headphones. All three have been working for me on Google Music.
Yeah, I have that box checked for my headphones. I've been changing the eq settings and nothing happens. Going to uninstall and reinstall.

Thank Jesus! The low audio output even on headphones was driving me insane. Viper definitely got that taken care of for me on my N5.

Go to System-Settings/Sounds and set the Soundmod for Viper..
If You don't hear any changes go to Setiings in Viper and enable the FX Compatible Mode.
That will work.

Thanks it's working.. But only on Google music player app. I use poweramp and no effect on it at all, however on googles music player it's really noticeable. Also I was hoping this would work system wide or at least YouTube.

It works for me on Poweramp. Enable FX in Audio Settings and Test it. Sometime helps when You longpress the FX Button in Ton/Vol. Viper go open than uncheck the enable option and emable it again.

It *is* system-wide. It won't work on PowerAmp unless you turn off DVC in PowerAmp's settings.
V4A is a comprehensive audio-driver replacement, not just some software EQ.
