Tried acid, my music player stopped working...

You have to delete music fx or DSP. Whatever your ROM uses for an equalizer. I use noozoxide and awesome beats no problems.
[email protected]'$ [email protected]@XY

Hey ct,
Its not only you.. Ac!d is really finicky and it is has been a different experience on different roms and phones.
You can't combine the walkman with any other sound mods, so if you picked walkman and awesome beats your probably having force closes.
I also have never delete music effects, I dont know how you would assign the phone to use noozxoide with the music effects under sound if you deleted it. But you cannot combine this with other eqs si make dsp or anything is froozen or deleted.
My typical install is this..
Wipe cache/dalvik, flash acid v5
Choose samsung, samsung, skip walkman, noozxoide and wipe cache/dalvik, fix permissions and reboot.
I then edit the build prop... (if you already see this then there is no need to add it. It just never edits my build prop when I flash it alone.)
###AC!D*Sound*Tweaks*by*R-ikfoot####Sony*Xloud*&*Clearbass*+ro.semc.sound_effects_enabled=truero.semc.xloud.supported=truepersist.service.xloud.enable=1ro.semc.enhance.supported=truepersist.service.enhance.enable=1ro.semc.clearaudio.supported=truepersist.service.clearaudio.enable=1ro.somc.dmnorm.supported=truepersist.service.dmnorm.enable=1ro.sony.walkman.logger=1ro.somc.clearphase.supported=truepersist.service.clearphase.enable=1#Resamplingaf.resampler.quality=255persist.af.resampler.quality=255#Beats*Enginehtc.audio.swalt.enable=1htc.audio.swalt.mingain=14512**
Save changes, reboot.
Go into settings/sound/music effects/set noozxoide.
Start listening to music. If your using google music then noozxoide will show up under equalizer.
Hope this works for you. If you can get it working right +good headphones= musical bliss!!

Does adding AC!D improve call quality as well..I think i remember reading that somewhere

I don't delete music effects, I delete music FX, and then I can choose between noozoxide and beats. Ac!d sound has been the best option for me to install a better eQ on the gsiii. I've been using it since July.

yeah but acid should work properly out of the box.. its a hit or miss if you get it working without call echo or ringtone cutoff.

It's also an option in the installer. Just don't use any of the other add ons. I used those options the first time I flashed. Now I'm a noozoxide head. Best I've heard my phone sound.

Its the only thing you should install when installing acid. When flashing, In the aroma setup choose.. samsung/samsung/skipwalkman/noozxoide.
This will put noozxoide on your phone.
You can also download it from the app store.

hey strapped, in your supreme sense rom i can enable the sony xloud audio in the miktweaks app... is this the same as beats audio? right under this option it shows beats boost, but its gray'd out, so i wasn't sure if it was redundant. also, dps manager seem to always force close on me when i tried playing music thru my headphones so i got rid of it, is that supposed to happen?
i also noticed in system/app there is htcmusicenhancer.apk and audioeffectservice.apk, can you shed any light on what these are related to and what would happen if i removed them? thanks man! always appreciate your help!

In SS their is a mixture of beats and xloud. Its grayed out because beats really isn't compatible with Sense 2.1 or whatever. But if you remove the apks it would most likely just quiet the sounds down. I gotta merge all my files over to my new os today so ill look at them. I'm not one to remember things off top hand till I look at all the files

AC!D sound Engine (All devices ICS+)

Just wanted to share what I found exploring xda. I claim none of these mods.
A quick summary: It makes your music sound better with various mods including Team AC!D's own modifications. Check out the thread for details and how to flash it.
I've used this on Embryo 5.3, AOKP, and Slimbean. All was working fine. Follow the instructions their thread and you should be fine. I won't be say if this or another mod is better for the same reason that "which ROM is better?" threads aren't allowed. I don't know much about audio/music/mods, but I do know this will not brick a white AT&T i727 Galaxy SII Skyrocket ( For those who don't know which forum is this.) I will do my best to answer any questions, but your best bet for a relevant answer is their thread.

Mine plays Le Musique via Bluetooth. The only thing is that it doesn't sound as good as the headphones plugged in. I use HD Motorolla stereo headset it doesn't make my phone reboot. I found a weird bug tho. When I open the WALKMAN app it stutters (it is awesome.)
My setup:
Hardware: Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket
Software: LiquidSmooth 4.1.2
Sound Engine: ACID Audio Engine V5
Music Player: Walkman
EQ:
If you flash the AC!D without any add on, you can use other equalizers or players without any problems. It might help with your Bluetooth problem. Make sure you flash on a clean install.

I flashed walkman player too, it seems you have to open it, click play twice, exit, go back in and it'll play.
I also get random reboots just with Walkman. Well, not exactly random, whenever the screen turns off while Walkman player is on, it'll reboot.
Thanks for sharing this!
Works great with my Samsung SGH-i727 running CM10 stable.
Flashed the AC!D Audio Engine and the Walkman player. It's an AWESOME music mod.
I wasn't sure how to get rid of DSP Manager like the instructions said to do. There was no "uninstall" function in the app list.. only a greyed out "Disable" button. Decided not to worry about it and flashed anyway. Everything seems to be working fine.
Great stuff! :good:
To delete DSP manager I downloaded root browser and went to System<app<DSP manager I long pressed and click delete. That got rid of it.

Been using it for a bit now and I'm getting mixed feelings. Since I use power amp religiously, I did not download the Walkman player, but instead opted for their eq app. The adjustments in the eq all are pretty good and very noticeable when using he YouTube app, but hardly noticeable at all while playing music in power amp. I had all power amps eq and any sound settings turned off and still couldn't hear any discernable difference with any changes in their eq app. Very weird.

Good question, I recently tried AC!D and beats, both were a no go. After installing beats it would just freeze my phone shortly after booting. I think acid is only for local music players though (correct me if I'm wrong), I'd like something that works with Play Music and Pandora. Not really a huge concern of mine until someone can confirm something works without bugs.

Have you tried Noozxoide? I have had success with it on every ROM it has been installed on and it works across all apps.
Have you considered an eq application? That is all beats audio is. I can't speak for dolby, Sony, and others.
I'm an avid audiophile, so I know eq can be tedious if you want a set it and forget it option, but it is worth it, to me.

I did try Noozxoide when installing acid, I played with the EQ while using Play Music and Pandora, but I didn't notice a single change. Maybe I didn't select the correct settings while installing. It also made everything extremely loud to the point where it was like meant for people with hearing problems.

So what would one have to do to get the libraries to work with dsp if I am using it on liquid Rom for example. I have it on carbon with dsp functioning well but before on liquid it just didn't do anything. Does it have to be compiled into the actual rom source

No it does not. Usually it'll come with the rom or there will be a flash able zip floating around with the files. What I'm having issues with is getting it to work on liquid without the bass becoming over powerful that it sounds distorted
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I have realized that it is hit or miss when it comes to this. Sometimes I get it to work on one ROM but can't on another ROM. I also noticed that you have to have some pretty good headphones to really get to know the difference in the audio quality.

[Sound MOD] [MF9/MDL] BMSound_Full the deep bass works on Sprint SPH-L720

Even though I flashed this with NO ISSUES whatsoever, please, for the love of God and all that is holy in the Android universe: Make a backup before flashing this! I am not responsible for what you do to your phone.
That being said: Guys...I have found what could quite possibly be the best sound mod for our phones ever. :victory:
1) first go to noskojv's thread and thank HIM NOT ME! I didn't write this mod but when I find something awesome I feel the need to share.
2) next if you have CWM go here to flash it.
3) if you're like me and you have TWRP go here to flash it.
Basically fauxsound will increase your gain (loudness) and Beats EQ will "clean up" any distortion. Beats EQ alone will not make your speaker louder.
To access the screens you see attached:
For the Beats EQ/ Music FX menu from the home screen select menu >> settings >> my device >> sound >> music effects
For the Beats EQ preset menu simply open your app drawer and find the app called BeatsEQ
Enjoy my Sprint brothers! :victory:
I also included a screenshot of my fauxsound settings.
Note: faux123's kernel OR ktoosez's kernel (which I use) found here and fauxsound are REQUIRED for fauxsound to work. You may use Beats EQ without fauxsound but if your intent on using this mod is for a volume increase Beats EQ alone will not accomplish this.
****Fauxsound will not work with any other kernel.****
***Note: I'm pretty sure Beats EQ is for Touchwiz ROMs only!

I do notice the difference more on my jbl bluetooth external speakers. there's more options like the strength of the eq setting and bass strength under the headphones and bluetooth tabs.

Ahh KT uses fauxsound. The link to download it from the market is in my OP.
I use fauxsound to increase my GAIN (make it louder) and essentially use this mod to reduce the distortion and the result is great sound. Even on the crappy speaker in the back of the phone.
Just embarrassed my friend with the HTC One. My speaker got WAY louder than his. And this makes my Beats headphones sound incredible

[Request] Beats/Acid/EQ?

Is there a way to flash an apk or zip file to get a system wide EQ on our phone like Beats? The sound output via the headphones is soooooo low. Any help much appreciated. Thanks!
Viper4Android is by far the best IMO. It's a much easier install than AC!D as well. Beats(even Awesome Beats) was always garbage to me. Especially compared to AC!D/Viper4Android.

I've decided to give a try to the Beats Audio™ PRO that used before on my N7 which is now outdated on playstore...if you find it and it works for you it is night and day compared to the original output. There is no equalization but IMO there is no need to. You can still play with EQ with your music player (I use poweramp). I've tried several DSP managers (downloaded, integrated in custom roms, etc...) but nothing comes close this mode. The only inconvience - you need to be root.

Don't really need to. The stock ROM doesn't contain the lines to edit anyways.
Viper works, I highly recommend if using with a good IRS. Works great on my Nexus 5!! Best audio mod I've used.
Okay. I had installed beats on a previous phone awhile ago and wasn't at all impressed. The EQ in poweramp was good enough. However, seen this thread today and figured I'd give viper a shot being as how a couple people recommended it. Well, I am quite impressed. I've tried it on phone speaker and Bluetooth and it definitely offers an improvement, especially on Bluetooth. Hopefully, it is just as good on the headset, haven't been able to test it out yet. But yeah, definitely worth installing.

Just installed Viper and it's not having any effect of the music from Google play music. What gives?

Do you have the "Enable/V4A-FX is powered on" check box checked for the output you're using? There is one to check for Bluetooth, Speaker, and Headphones. All three have been working for me on Google Music.
Yeah, I have that box checked for my headphones. I've been changing the eq settings and nothing happens. Going to uninstall and reinstall.

Thank Jesus! The low audio output even on headphones was driving me insane. Viper definitely got that taken care of for me on my N5.

The extra loud option for the speaker comes in handy too

Go to System-Settings/Sounds and set the Soundmod for Viper..
If You don't hear any changes go to Setiings in Viper and enable the FX Compatible Mode.
That will work.

Thanks it's working.. But only on Google music player app. I use poweramp and no effect on it at all, however on googles music player it's really noticeable. Also I was hoping this would work system wide or at least YouTube.

It works for me on Poweramp. Enable FX in Audio Settings and Test it. Sometime helps when You longpress the FX Button in Ton/Vol. Viper go open than uncheck the enable option and emable it again.

It *is* system-wide. It won't work on PowerAmp unless you turn off DVC in PowerAmp's settings.
V4A is a comprehensive audio-driver replacement, not just some software EQ.
