Removing Ongoing Wifi Notification without root - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

Here is a quick and easy way to remove the very annoying ongoing wifi notification on the pulldown, even if you are not rooted.
http://androidcommunity.com/how-to-remove-the-ongoing-wifi-notification-on-verizon-galaxy-s-4-20130527/#entrycontent
I been doing this for about a day and seems to work fine. This may not suit everyones' needs as this must be redone whenever you reboot or turn off wifi. Since I do neither very often, it seems to work for me.
Edit:
In the step where it says:
"Hit “App info” (or go into settings > apps > all apps > Android System)"
I simply Hit App info. I did NOT go into settings > apps > all apps > Android System
The app that came up to be force stopped is a 4KB app labeled "Settings" not "Android System" as it is shown on the Verizon phone" .
This is only a temporary measure as the notification returns when connection is lost and re-established. I obviously don't warrant that this works, but thought I'd pass along the info for those who might find it useful.

Because the article you are reading is not a solution. Umm ok. Force stopping the android system is going fc other items.

Yes, I noticed in the article it shows Android System. That is not what is being forced closed here. I certainly wouldn't have tried this if I thought I was force stopping Android System!
The App being force stopped is a small 4KB app related to Settings as you see in the image below.
Anyway, so far it has cause no problems and if it does, I'd just reboot. YMMV.

You should've mentioned that in the OP instead of posting erroneous instructions.

My Nexus S thinks he's a Galaxy Nexus?!?!

I tried wiping cache+dalvik cache and I even fixed permissions, but neither of these things worked. So please help me!!
Using a CM10 based ROM maybe?
Go to Settings > System > Physical buttons > Show app button (or something similar, uncheck it)
Then reboot.

Without an error message or the name of the app, we can't help you.
Edit: Nevermind, seen your message. Are you trying to pirate an app per chance? If you have any .odex files, in /data/app with the same name as the app, which could get created if you're trying to pirate an app, that could pose a problem with the install.
Make sure you have enough space on your "external" memory too, not just internal. Some apps will need to install additional data to the SDcard and show you that warning.

Rename the otacerts.zip file in /system/etc/security (from memory - looks correct).

I use 4.4.2 with the 4.4 radio. Zero issues. I do think the new baseband uses a little more juice, but not a lot more.

I did mine a little different way, when you have the system update notification icon, swipe down to get to the quick menu, hold the tap on the system update notification bar, and a little bar with "app info" will show up, tap that and then uncheck "show notifications". no more annoying icon telling you to update.

Uh Google services framework handles way more than ota updates. Don't think you want to disable notifications on that.

Can you give me an example of what important notification I would be missing? Disabling notifications doesn't stop Google Services Framework from running. According to my research, there are but one or two other notification dialogs associated with Google Services Framework, and they aren't very informative. I have been using this method for my last 3 phones and haven't missed being notified of anything necessary for me to use my phone.

Process system isn't responding?

I'm using a rooted stock 4.4.2 Nexus 5 and messed something up. The phone works fine but when I reboot I get the pop-up attached. Despite this everything works fine.
I know it is something I did by either disabling or freezing some built-in app or preventing it from starting at bootup, but how do I find out which "process system" is the one not responding so I know what to undo?

Just unfeeze them all. Then freeze them one by one....wait a bit to know all is well, and freeze another.
Or print screen your frozen apps and let's look?
If that's even the cause.
Isn't there a simpler way by using some logging device that would tell what the problem is? I just don't know how to do that.

Log cats, if you know how to read them. Not that I really do. But maybe something would be obvious.
You probably froze or stopped something from starting that you shouldn't have tho. Just undo your changes to ones you're not sure of.
I don't see a need to stop most system apps from starting tho....you won't gain anything by it. Aside from Google things, or weather apps. Not sure your motive???
Narrowed it down. It's not anything I froze or disabled. After a lot of testing and trials I discovered that the only thing that prevented the pop-up appearing at bootup was if I disabled xprivacy and because the problem is only recent I suspect it is in the latest update. Will check with them.

I have the same problem and I also use xprivacy.
It was some permission I had blocked in some app. I can't tell you which app or which permission because I finally "cleared all xprivacy data" in xprivacy menu and reblocked permissions as I was asked in each app. Sort of like starting from scratch but it was worth it because it solved the problem.
Hope that helps.
If you find which permission it is let me know.

WARNING!!!!!
After evaluating new apps that were installed after the latest verizon update I have found DT IGNITE application has been installed. If you dont know what this app is, go google it. Its a backdoor for a provider to slip bloat and spam into your phone. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DISABLING THIS APP!!!!

Great. Is this the only app you found to be installed with the update? This type of garbage should be illegal.

You may need to install Package Disabler Pro in order to see it to remove.
For some reason when I go to check for updates it does not stop checking. I had it running for 15 minutes before cancelling. Also tried rebooting the phone.
Edit: Its working now, it was a service that was disabled. I just re-enabled everything that I had disabled with package disabler.
do a search for com.logiagroup it will find the DT ignite service, just disable it.

Along with the other methods mentioned so far, you can also find it by opening the Application manager, tapping More at the top right, and tapping "Show system apps." It will then appear in the alphabetical list. Selecting it will allow you to disable it.
Anyone find the fingerprint unlocking not working? Before the update I had pattern and fingerprint working. Now I have to enter pattern always.

Apps crashing after latest update

after latest update for model MHA-L29C185B186 apps are crashing.any news on this?
same happened to me. with some apps in my Chinese mate 9, i did a restart and clear out the cache then update apps and that fixed my issues
I have the same issue after the update, and it's very annoying: apps crashes in the middle of what you're doing, watching, or reading. Nothing seems to fix it
Yep, annoying closes. I think i'll rebrand to 432...
Same here...random crashes on apps after the update. Can anyone help?
Some general methods to try:
Clear out the cache of the app
Update the app
Settings - Developer options, Enable multiprocess WebView
......
nope
I have the same problem as well. I contacted Huawei support and they suggested to do a factory reset. I did that and the issue still persists. I believe something is wrong with the latest software update they pushed and they need to fix this ASAP.

I haven't noticed any apps crashing after yesterday's update, but for some reason the controls on my Bluetooth headphones no longer work when the phone is in lockscreen, only working when the music player I use (MX Player Pro) is active onscreen. Anyone else had this issue? BTW I've spent close to 4 hours trying to fix this in every possible area of 'settings' and have searched the forums here but have had no luck!
After the B194 update I have the same problem. Most apps close. No solution from Huawei service for now
Same here, apps crashing after last update. Clear cache or fully restore factory reset didn't help.
chinks =(
Same problem here.... After new update apps are crashing....

Another one with the same complaint. FB, Waze, Chrome .. just closing in the middle of use.
Same here...
There is no need to worry, just goto settings then goto battery then tap on top right corner of battery settings and turn off " close excessively power instensive apps". THATS IT.
It is enabled by default in the new firmware. So apps are being crashed automatically.
Screenshot is attached
Regards.
um, nope. this one reads 'background'. we are talking about foreground apps abruptly closing without any warning
+1. Real Racing crash randomly.
I have downgrade to B190 (without reset) and my game work perfectly again. But now , I realize that app camera and gallery don't work.
