This afternoon, my phone started to act really strange, it started to show options that are usually only present on the Gnex browser..

but when I wanted to install an app made by my friend, the phone told me my memory was full and directed me to the 'manage apps' settings, where I noticed that there was another Gnex button..
I tried wiping cache+dalvik cache and I even fixed permissions, but neither of these things worked. So please help me!!
Using a CM10 based ROM maybe?
Go to Settings > System > Physical buttons > Show app button (or something similar, uncheck it)
Then reboot.

Without an error message or the name of the app, we can't help you.
Edit: Nevermind, seen your message. Are you trying to pirate an app per chance? If you have any .odex files, in /data/app with the same name as the app, which could get created if you're trying to pirate an app, that could pose a problem with the install.
Make sure you have enough space on your "external" memory too, not just internal. Some apps will need to install additional data to the SDcard and show you that warning.

Nope, its not a pirated app, still thanks, think I'm going to flash a new rom, as it also is getting buggier and laggier. But still I would like to thanks you!

I've had this on other android devices before but never this bad. Under network usage, the top item is consistently "0". Clicking on it results in FC. I just went to CM7. I dont think the issue came back until I reinstalled all of my apps. I used a network monitor when I was stock rooted and never saw anything unusual. Anyone have any ideas? I have a feeling it is killing my battery.

Bump. I have the same issue. If I click on the item labeled 0, it force closes.

Can you give me a list of all of your apps? Maybe we have a culprit in common.
Bump.......

I have the same. I believe it is all non system apps lumped together as I don't have any of them listed like I did on my n1. I think the system isn't representative of individual app use for data or battery. The battery history normally lists apps associated with a specific uid if you press each. My theory is something in the framework isn't registering apps independently but grouping them together creating false readouts.
[EDIT] I do see individual apps on network use so I want to strike my theory. Now I'm just back to puzzled.

Sorry, been too busy to check back in on XDA for a few days. I could post a list of apps, but my original observation was during the couple of days after I did all the factory wiping / calibrating to fix my battery life. I didn't have any non-stock apps installed at the time.
The 0 is still there, and still force closes. I was hoping some more people might have insight on this, but it doesn't seem to have caught on.

This spams my notification and status bar when a. I restart phone or b. I turn off all radios and the enable again.
It has to be a third party app I have. Anyone else seen this before? Antivirus programs don't see anything wrong.
Thanks.

I would use droidwall and disable apps that you think is the problem. There is no way for you to know that it works unless it reproduce it self i think there is also another firewall app that does dynamic blocking but it is still buggy Hope you find the root of the problem.
I had that problem on my other phone when I had an mp3 downloading app. Do you have of those installed? I would check that out.

ok i had the same problem heres how to fix it go to the market and download "airpush detector" install it and run it. what it will do is pull the app/apps that are causing the issue then you can just uninstall them.
You def have a rogue app somewhere.
Look through /data/app folder for anything that you don't recognize or looks suspect. Also look through you Application Manager. If you don't remember installing it, unistall it...the worst thing that can happen if it was something you use is you lose you settings. I think that is worth it to prevent possibly losing your identity (not trying to scare you)
Yep I have a mp3 downloaded app. Uninstall!!

Yep, I thought so. Thats what I had on my old phone.
I have it. No mp3 app, though. Spam is lame as hell.
I have a file on my internal sdcard called "system data" and it's over 500mb...
Can someone explain what it says and how to downsize it?

That's all your stuff needed to run your phone properly. If you want to downsize it you can delete unused ringtones and other sounds, but dont tinker with much more or you could brick your phone.

I've had this problem pop up even after running a clean install until I finally figured it out (for myself at least) SD card/DCIM/THUMBNAILS. It would usually use about 3.75 Gig if not more, until I would delete it and free up the space as it's really not needed.

Rename the otacerts.zip file in /system/etc/security (from memory - looks correct).

I use 4.4.2 with the 4.4 radio. Zero issues. I do think the new baseband uses a little more juice, but not a lot more.

I did mine a little different way, when you have the system update notification icon, swipe down to get to the quick menu, hold the tap on the system update notification bar, and a little bar with "app info" will show up, tap that and then uncheck "show notifications". no more annoying icon telling you to update.

Uh Google services framework handles way more than ota updates. Don't think you want to disable notifications on that.

Can you give me an example of what important notification I would be missing? Disabling notifications doesn't stop Google Services Framework from running. According to my research, there are but one or two other notification dialogs associated with Google Services Framework, and they aren't very informative. I have been using this method for my last 3 phones and haven't missed being notified of anything necessary for me to use my phone.

Hi there. Recently, ads that look like the image above have been popping up insistently on my phone. Every single time i pick it up after an interval, the ad pops up and takes up the whole screen, unless i click "no, thanks" or "Back" or "Home" it won't go away.
I'm getting very frustrated and i have uninstalled about 90% of my apps. I installed cleanmaster to clean my system cache to get rid of any unwanted files and i run it all the time. I've also tried all the ad blockers/detectors on the play store but they cannot detect any sign of malicious software.
Any advice? I would really hate to do a factory reset but i would like to know the cause of the problem, if it's an app. What's the point of having an android if i can't install any apps?!
Any ideas on how i can get to the root of the problem? It's frustrating as f***.
what happens if you press the recents button? does it show any app or just not respond?

It opens a webpage. One of those annoying "contest" websites where you are asked to do quizzes or enter your number to win a prize.

Hum... It's on your side, not Android... You obviously downloaded something...
It's an app for sure, but we cant help you unless you show us the list of your remaining apps.
When you find it, just uninstall it. No need to clear cash or anything, it wont make a difference anyway. And if you got it from google play, you should report it since it is against their guidelines. https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479847?hl=en
If it is not from the play store e.g. some pirate app, I dont feel sorry for you... If it's a legitimate app from outside the playstore you should raise your concern with the developer.
