MicroUSB?

Has anyone seen an adapter to MicroUSB? The "kit" Asus sells looks to be full size USB and daisy chaining adapters isn't a great solution.

i believe the kit that's sold connects to the charging port of the device and gives you a full sized usb port.i'll find out tomorrow
edit: kit does work, although when i bought it, there was not mention that it would work.. but it does.

What is it you are trying to do. The connector on the tab is proprietary and the other ends is USB to connect or power. Why do you want micro usb on the other end?

I guess something like Computer USB -> MicroUSB + Adapter for proprietary **** -> Pad would be what OP wants. Makes sense because everyone has a load of MicroUSB cables lying around. I'd want one.

OH you want to turn a standard micro usb cable into an asus cable. Don't think you can

Let us know what you find out - I was wondering the same thing so I can use my old PS2 IBM clicky keyboard with my flashy pad.. :highfive:

The USB kit from Asus offers the same functionality as the USB port on the dock. Why would you connect a micro USB (B) connector to a host (A) connector? The kit/dock is meant for keyboards, mice, card readers etc. Not for charging.

to plug in a keyboard...

Sorry, I didn't have access to a computer yesterday.
I have a few accessories that connect through microUSB (i.e. charger, external speakers, etc. ) that I'd like to connect up to it. All of them use a micro USB connection.
The kit looks like it has full size USB, so If I wanted to us my other stuff I would have to have: Accessory -> micro (f) to full (m) usb adapter -> Asus USB Kit -> Infinity.
That's the problem. I plan on getting the KB dock soon which will be great for the KB (thats the point right ) but when I'm not using the KB, I might want to use the other stuff.

Na na na...I mean a REAL keyboard

[Q] Bluetooth Question

I have bought a cheap wireless keyboard and mouse which has one of those tiny usb bluetooth receivers. I have tested it on my pc on my galaxy note 2 and on my girlfriends nexus 7 and both the keyboard and mouse work great when i use an otg and plug in the tiny usb receiver.

My question is, is there anyway of using my keyboard and mouse without the tiny usb receiver. Ive tryed scanning for the keyboard and mouse with the inbuilt bluetooth but nothing is found. I thought someone might know of an app or another way of connecting wireless accesories through the inbuilt bluetooth without needing the otg and the micro receiver.

To give a serious answer I need to know what type of mouse and keyboard you use. Problem is that often it is not bluetooth but some special "wireless" frequency used, especially when sold in combination with a dongle.
Said it is a bluetooth keyboard, you may pair it with the Note by pushing and holding the power-on-button of the keyboard until the LED indicates pairing mode (maybe it flashes or changes colour). Then let the Note search for bt-devices, and it should work. Maybe you are asked to enter a code, just tap it on the keyboard and hit the enter-key.
The mouse should work just the same, but without a code (or it is 0000 to be entered on the Note).
Try, and if I could help, don't forget the thnx-button.

You have to ensure that you really have a Bluetooth keyboard..if the keyboard is visible to your pc without the special adapter than it is OK.. but as long you need the adapter .. than it is not a pure Bluetooth device!
I'm using a cheap ($12) Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combination from amazon and it works fine without the use OTG but directly over BT

Thanks for your replies. I have my suspicion that they are not working on a standard bluetooth level as the keyboard and mouse seem to be completely invisable to any inbuilt bluetooth scanning and only work with the micro usb receiver plugged in. Its not a big problem as ill only use them when its docked.

Car head unit as Galaxy S4 docking station

Hi,
If you know a bit of hardware you will find this usefull. The idea for the dock started quite simple: control the phone from the steering wheel using the USB port. Once that was ready the maker in me said:
"Hm, that is good but how cool would be to also charge the phone ... yeah USB Host and Charging does not work together but there have to be a way ..."
and once that was done again:
"Nah, it is crappy to put one cable for USB and another in the headphone jack for audio ... how cool it would be to channel the audio through USB also?"

I believe it is plantronics brand, do not know the exact details ...it came broken in half (literally)
anyway - any usb dac will do (USB DAC == USB Soundcard) just check with OTG cable that you phone will recognize it and play musing throught it.

Cool stuff. Like mentioned before .. A bit too much for me to take on as I don't have enough free time to set up. If you got yourself into making and selling these then I think you'd be on to a winner. Thanks anyway.

If you are willing to:
* loose the ability to control the phone from the steering wheel
* loosing your cigarette lighter socket (a car charger should in there)
* have another cable hanging around for the car AUX
you may take a look at theiBolt docks - they can also charge the phone plus emit sound using the USB port (you do not have to connect another cable in the headphones output)

TV dock + controller dock?

Hi there!
Has anyone bought a dock that allows them to stream from the dock to the TV(wired), and used a gamepad (bluetooth connected) to android?
Scenario: go to a hotel, plug phone into dock, connect dock to wall for power, and TV to stream. Connect bluetooth gamepad to galaxy s 5. Play game on TV.
Sorry if I'm not explaining this clearly, I can try a different way.

I bought a dock for the s4 with hdmi and 3 usb ports, as soon as I got the s5 I tried the dock with this device but it doesn't work.
I think the problem is that s5 doesn't have a dock mode

i bought it for my s4 and it also works with my g900f the only problem is that the charging current is low, around 800mA, and at s5 because the charging port cover it cannot be pushed well and it doesn't stay only forced.

Does that dock has usb-otg? The problem seems to appear when trying to use mhl-hdmi and usb otg at the same time.

Question USB-C to HDMI doesn't work – blank screen….

Hello, why do 2 different USB-C-to-HDMI cables NOT deliver any signal to the beamer? I used 2 brandnew cables (from Anker resp. Warrky), but the screen remains blank, as if nothing had been connected. On the other hand, this Full-HD-Beamer easily shows signals from sat-receiver (HDMI to HDMI), DSLR (USB-A to HDMI) and laptop (display port to HDMI).
Connecting the Pixel 7 Pro via USB-C-to-HDMI directly to the beamer (not to a HDMI multi-plug), I see these messages on the Pixel 7 Pro, that don't seem as expected (re-translated to English by me):
- attached device charged via USB (while the cable description says, "no charging possible")
- device controlling the USB connection: Connected Device (meaning the beamer obviously)
There is no change possible, for instance it's not possible to set "This Device" (the Pixel 7 Pro) as controlling device. Also the use for the USB connection (like file transfer, USB tether etc.) can't be changed at all. It is all grayed out and fixed to "PTP" (picture transfer protocol), which seems not to make sense?
According to data sheets, the Pixel 7 Pro has USB-C 3.2 Gen. 2 – and according to the cables' descriptions, with this the signal should go from mobile to beamer.
Do you have any idea? Are there other devices, perhaps even wireless? Thanks!
PS. I mainly would view mobile photos and Youtube videos. Audio would be transferred on a separate Bluetooth connection.

The phone doesn't support it. You can only use a displaylink device and it's a ****ty experience.
The pixel 8 will include displayport and should support HDMI adapters.

You could use a Chromecast for that, and they are inexpensive. I think you would need to send audio from your projector (I think that's what you mean by "beamer") though.

I was disappointed a phone in this price point didn't include MHL.
I use an hdmi adapter bought from best buy called ( J Create Adapter). App on playstore.
Best $29 adapter with unnoticeable latency..

Anyone knows if there is a change that Google enable a kind of desktop mode on pixel 7 pro if the 8 does support it? From what I understood the hardware can support it but it misses something in USB driver am I right? Or I'm dreaming and will be forced to switch to the 8 to get the feature?
