Hi all!!
I tried to find the answer to my question, but have not found anything.
I'am flash on my HTC Desire S Rom from Flinny build 22, and tried anothe Rom, but the standard automatic brightness does not work.
Light sensor works 100%.
I'am tried in adjustment in the standard automatic brightness, and in the programm from googleplay - LUX.
In LUX all work perfect!!
Tell me, what could be the Problem?
P.S. Excuse me for my english
Do you know what kind of panel you have?

Depends on what ROM you're using. Not possible to tweak it if you're on a Stock ROM.
If you're on a custom ROM, then all ROMs with the RCMix tweaks have a feature to keep the button backlight on all the time.
Just go to Rcmix tweaks>Display Options>Backlight settings>Set to "Always On" and you're done.
Hope that solves your problem.
Hi just to update it seems it`s not possible to highlight the soft keys(that is the Home, Menu, Back and Search keys) They are automatic, triggered by the ambient light sensor and from my point of view this is very annoying.
As I am running the stock rom at the moment I am looking at the market to see if there are any apps that will solve this. If anyone knows of any that can do this can you let me know?
Thanks

Like I said... Not possible on stock ROM. In my knowledge... There is no app in the market that can let you do that... Least of all, without root.

Another update, just found an App called Screen Filter it`s primary function is to control screen brightness but is has an option to Enable soft-key backlight. Just the job for me

stick a tiny black "electricity tape" over the sensor...that`s what i did and now i have them permanently on....the sensor is located a little above and to the left of the name HTC at the top...you can test exactly where it is using your fingertip
Ha why didn't I think of that.Sometimes the best solutions are the easiest ones

Well, it was happening with Kernel it came with. I've tried switching to Air Kernel 3.4.5 and it happens with that too. Once or twice it doesn't but then it happens again. What i did now is I turned off Auto mode for brightness and now it doesn't seem to be happening. Any ideas what sort of Kernel settings might be affecting this? I don't mind turning the auto off for brightness and keep it at certain level but it'll still be nice to know. Thanx Much.
If you can adjust the gamma settings this should help.

Gamma settings...how can I change those? I've been flashing and such since Jan now but by no means I am pro at all these. Any app that i use? Any particular setting I use? I am using a Nexus S. It's so weird, I have never experienced this with any other rom i've tried.

I know the proper location for this question is the rom post but I don't have enough message to be able to post in the development forum :\
I've installed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672537
the only problem is that I can't figure otu how to turn off pie controls.
could anyone help please?
Thanks
I dont know if you can really turn it off but you can set the trigger area to none which means you can't activate the pie.

Yh i think in settings/toggles somewhere u can deactivate them.

I'm on this ROM :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060612
[ROM][4.2.2][July 6th] Slim Bean-d2vzw [build 7]
And I'm wondering if there is a setting or an app that would enable full brightness while plugged in and auto brightness while unplugged? Sorry I'm really hungover and would normally figure this out on my own. Thanks in advance

You are correct plus there are apps that do a better job then the stock auto brightness function. In all fairness he is hungover so thinking is actually painful.
Stock and unrooted here are some issues I've been having:
Seemingly slow charging even on LG charger.
Auto brightness seems super bright.
Status bar color sometimes stays a shade of transparent black. Needs a tap to make it totally transparent.
3rd party keyboards like Swift key have certain compatibility issues.
"Okay Google" doesn't work.

Has anyone had any problems with adjusting volume? Not seeing the slider move when pressing hard buttons and not being able to slide it with your finger? As well as sometimes the sound cutting out and the phone needing a restart?
