Is there a setting or app for this? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I'm on this ROM :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060612
[ROM][4.2.2][July 6th] Slim Bean-d2vzw [build 7]
And I'm wondering if there is a setting or an app that would enable full brightness while plugged in and auto brightness while unplugged? Sorry I'm really hungover and would normally figure this out on my own. Thanks in advance

You are correct plus there are apps that do a better job then the stock auto brightness function. In all fairness he is hungover so thinking is actually painful.

It makes your capacitative buttons at the bottom of your screen pulse whenever you get new email, sms, etc. Making up for not having a notification light.
Did you develop this? I was wondering when someone would. Very much a needed app.

thanks for the hard work!
Just FYI and to make it easy to check for updates, the original site for this is http://www.swedroid.se/forum/showthread.php?t=38703. Author says he'll put it on the Market if there are no significant bugs found (this was from the 7th of April).
Super fly. Works fantastic!
I changed up the Pulse timings so it has a quicker fade in/out time and a longer on time. Looks much better.
Fade In: 500ms
Fully Lit: 1000ms
Fade out: 500ms
Inactive time: 1500ms
Touch LED Value (0-20) = Total brightness
Normal Touch brightness is set on the first "Main" page because default they are only half brightness. "20" really makes them shine.
This provides a quicker pulse and looks great IMO
i think the developer will be putting this in the market soon since it seems bug free at the moment. =)

I think a nice option would be able to set a schedule so it doesn't blink all night draining the battery while you are sleeping.

True. It should have a sleep schedule you can set like 11pm-8am. My N1 would blink all night and illuminate the room.
Still works. Beats having an LED pixel or something.
I've gotten several gmail and SMS messages and it seems to work. I look over and its blinking.
Isnt that what the enable sleep option is for?

Oh comon.. but isn't that cool! When I was first trying to hack my phone I landed on some variation of samsunginfuse.com and that was one of the tips that I picked up there. Really glad that I did. Our phone seems to be one of the only ones that it actually worked on. But I know what you're saying. You want it the way it should be. I got it. I personally just hate auto brightness. And it pisses me off the way that browser completely has it's own settings. Yes, I know that you can download a separate broswer just pisses me off.. ranting woops.. I do that a lot when I can type quickly on the computer.

I always have brightness on full with auto off. However, if the display is on for an extended time the display will dim. Then going to the brightness settings I see the message that dismay was dimmed to prevent battery over heating.

It doesn't dim much, about like it would if I had auto brightness enabled. Overclocked to 1.6 probably doesn't help. My battery temp is only at 98.6 after a good 30 min on Tapatalk. Never really timed how long before it dims.
On another note, I can't believe the difference in speed from Froyo to this Rom. Using Zeus 5.2 with ICS theme. Used UOT kitchen to change my battery indicator.

One last comment, then to bed. My display hasn't dimmed yet after being on all this time and temp still at 98.6. Maybe I was running more than I realized the few times it happened. Anyway, thanks for the conversation.

CM + G2x still SOD !

Hi,
I just want to know if he SOD (sleep of death) when charging the phone will ever be fixed with CM roms?
I experience it since a very long time....
Or if this cant be fixed, is there any good workaround and why does the phone SOD?
I have my phone set to max clock at 500 something while charging, stops that.
Also check which apps you have. Some apps cause sod for me (usually widgets).

Check "stay awake while charging" under application-development settings.
It keeps the screen on, also eliminates all sod's

That's why there's this nifty little thing on the phone that let's you change the screen brightness, lol. I just tap the setting on my homescreen until it goes to minimum brightness. Then when I wake up, tap it once and it's back to medium where I usually have it. Although, it takes more than my phone lighting up to wake me up, lol.

Thanks for your inputs guys.
2 things to ask.
Anyone tried a charger with less Milliampere on it. our current is 1.0A. I heard that one with less may fix this.
Also, to the guy setting 500 Mhz when idle, does this reduce battery life or you set this only when charging?

I do it only when charging. I used to do it while the screen was off but it caused occasional SOD.
I'll check my charger. I think it's 5 volts and 750mA.

+1 to setting it to stay awake when charging. After finding out about that, ive never had a SOD so far, and that was a year ago. Not sure why the screen would turn on though when getting a text. Never had that happen to me with people texting or calling me; I always just turn off the screen and it stays off. Guess it might be the kernel?

Could've sworn I said that last page :good:
Yep stay awake do work.
I tried modifying the CPU clock to +- 500 Mhz , but the phone still SOD.
I really think the problem is when the GPU enter idle state when charging.
Are there any tool to monitor GPU clock and changing it?
Is this SOD problem you are talking about part of CM7.2 or CM9? Which CM are you running and who's ROM? I am running Domination ICS w/ CM9 and have no SOD while charging.

Using CM 10.1 how can I lower min brightness level?

One thing I miss from stock was the eco mode low brightness level. How can I modify CM to lower the brightness on my P3113?
Thanks

That looks like an awesome app. But WTF is with the music they put in the promo video haha
These look ok, but they don't seem to have pocket mode as well like Mahdi rom does...
And they're not the same. The notifications don't start as icons on the right that you can slide to view.
Use Mahdi ROM, or even AOSPAL. Even the other Roms with it as well, because I don't think you will find an app with the exact look, or pocket mode at all. It's seems to be more of an Internal type of feature.

Barely any, only about 1-3% from a 100% charge to 5%.
The Gravity Screen app in the Play Store is similar but works slightly differently, you can use that if your ROM doesn't have pocket mode.

I know that Carbon, Paranoid Saberdroid and Mahdi ROM has it, along with lockscreen notifications. Also, note that the battery drain that Gravity Screen would show is negligible across time (most I ever saw is 5% from a 100% charge), but if you check your battery only after a short period of a few minutes it'll appear to use around 25% battery, so don't worry if it appears to use a lot in the first few minutes. Also recommend to have Wake by motion and Keep screen on by motion turned off.

Yes it has but I've tried it and it does not catch all notifications for me. And when clicking some notifications it would stay at the lockscreen so I would have to manually unlock after pressing the notification. It worked very inconsistent for me. Worked much better when I was using the Mahdi-rom.
