One thing I miss from stock was the eco mode low brightness level. How can I modify CM to lower the brightness on my P3113?
Thanks

No I mean that I would like the brightness overall to be less. Including the lowest auto setting and the manual setting.

I'm missing it too.
For those of you who don't remember it, there was an "Edit Levels..." screen that took you to the screen shown in this post:

Yes this is what I was looking for. Seems it hasn't made it to 10.1 yet, in the meantime I found an app called Lux that works.

Unless you go outside.
Juice Defender Ultimate has some brightness settings that let you tune the auto brightness. You can get it a lot darker than you normally can, and change the way it ramps up and down.
I mainly use it as a way to keep the phone from blinding me in the car or desk dock at night and still letting itself ramp to full brightness in sunlight.
As long as you live under a rock, minimum brightness should work. If you do go outside, either use the power widget to quickly change settings or just use auto. i personally like auto.

And don't forget on manual brightness you can change brightness just by sliding your finger across the top.

Lol,I forgot about that handy little tool. I been chewing my kids out cuz they kept turning it up when i let em play on it.ot so I thought.
I had much more luck just long pressing the notification bar where I want the brightness. Swiping it gave mixed results.

That's a nice trick! Thanks. I had problems with the brightness not changing reliably when swiping. (User error no doubt)

So I'm using the factory camera and gallery, has anyone noticed how the display turns to crap when you view pictures? The color tone completely drops and makes the photos look dark and terrible. Is there a setting I may have turned on (or off)? Or is there something third party I should use perhaps?
Because when I view the photos on the PC using my nice HD display, its really not as bad as it looks on the phone.

I think it could be just the app itself and how it was written. But also adjusting the brightness can usually help. One reason I hate the pentile display. > <

I think it is being caused by 2 things.
1. Automatic brightness.
2. Settings -> Display -> Auto adjust screen power. (Although I thought this setting never worked, it sounds like the exact problem you're having)
I just use a brightness widget and a scroll of the top status bar to adjust my brightness all the time. The automatic brightness is pretty much unusable because I find it too dark most of the time.

The Skyrocket doesn't have a pentile display.
I wouldn't have purchased it if it did.

i've turned off the auto adjust, but i still have general auto brightness turned on. Still dims when in the gallery. i've noticed this on every skyrocket phone i've ran into, the pictures just look dark and dull when being viewed in the gallery.

Turn auto brightness off, this is the main reason I turned mine off. It will usually turn it to the lowest brightness in galleries and looks like ****. Auto brightness is garbage from the factory. There's suppose to be a better mod that checks nearly 100 times a sec and uses less power but I been too lazy to ask my friend for the name of it lol.

There's a post in q& a somewhere that explains the iso settings in different lighting environments. I usually just keep mine set to 200 and makes it alot better. Still darkens a little bit but not near as bad as it did before. I also noticed a difference turning the flash off.

The topic more or less was on the gallery view, not the actual camera quality. It takes pretty decent photos compared to what else is available.

Anyone having issues with auto brightness not functioning correctly? Many times ill notice it seems pretty bright for such a dark room. Fiddle with the brightness slider and then click auto and it's back to correct auto brightness. Happens on all jb roms I've used. Forget if I had this issue with gb and ics

Default values are too bright for me, adjusted them down to a reasonable level. (on CM10)
Hey guys again, I found a bit more information on this problem. Noticed while I was in bed with phone and it on auto brightness, when I turn screen on, it "recalculates" and even though it's a pitch black room, gives me maybe 30% more light? When I toggle brightness in my power widget through and back to auto it corrects and goes to lowest brightness. Any thoughts?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
Mine works, but I had to tweak the default settings. By default, it only checks the ambient light sensor when you unlock the screen. I changed it to periodically sample so that it dims/brightens as the screen is on but ambient lights changes (e.g. Turning off bedside lamp).

Don't remember everything, but here's my Settings/Display/AutomaticBacklight that I think are involved:
Enabled: checked
Window: 5s
Reset threshold: disabled
Sample interval: 1s
...
Allow light decrease: checked

I'm on this ROM :

[ROM][4.2.2][July 6th] Slim Bean-d2vzw [build 7]
And I'm wondering if there is a setting or an app that would enable full brightness while plugged in and auto brightness while unplugged? Sorry I'm really hungover and would normally figure this out on my own. Thanks in advance

You are correct plus there are apps that do a better job then the stock auto brightness function. In all fairness he is hungover so thinking is actually painful.
What do you use for brightness. Auto? Full? 50%? Share!
Full looks best but image burn could be an issue with IPS displays..
Auto I feel like it jumps around too much depending on your lighting situation

Seems as though this thread should be in General Discussion.
At any rate, I usually steer towards Auto Brightness. On my Nexus 5, auto works just fine. Roughly 65% looks good to me and that's where mine usually stays with auto.
Why not add a Poll?
I never use Auto. Currently set to ~50%
Most of the time I'm almost at the minimum (indoors) and use Lux to adjust the brightness to a fixed level when I'm outside.
Can't add a poll :/ idk how to be honest. I tried editing the post on the website. Still nothing.
