Is there any app that adds lock screen notifications and pocket mode as Mahdi ROM has implemented?

That looks like an awesome app. But WTF is with the music they put in the promo video haha
These look ok, but they don't seem to have pocket mode as well like Mahdi rom does...
And they're not the same. The notifications don't start as icons on the right that you can slide to view.
Use Mahdi ROM, or even AOSPAL. Even the other Roms with it as well, because I don't think you will find an app with the exact look, or pocket mode at all. It's seems to be more of an Internal type of feature.

Cool, sounds like a Samsung feature.
Is there any increase in battery drain as a result of using it?

Barely any, only about 1-3% from a 100% charge to 5%.
The Gravity Screen app in the Play Store is similar but works slightly differently, you can use that if your ROM doesn't have pocket mode.

Cheers bud, I'll check if Purity supports it but if not I'll check out that app :good:
Is it possible to cherry pick the notifications and add them to cyanogenmod?
Not that I could do either of that (i've tried) just wondering is all.
I've used NILS for a while but it still has that SMS app bug where the app becomes unresponsive if using swipe to open

I know that Carbon, Paranoid Saberdroid and Mahdi ROM has it, along with lockscreen notifications. Also, note that the battery drain that Gravity Screen would show is negligible across time (most I ever saw is 5% from a 100% charge), but if you check your battery only after a short period of a few minutes it'll appear to use around 25% battery, so don't worry if it appears to use a lot in the first few minutes. Also recommend to have Wake by motion and Keep screen on by motion turned off.
Hey try AcDisplay

Purity doesn't use it. Neither does Slim. I wish I knew how to cherry pick port it, I'd love to have it on stock/slim.

Yes it has but I've tried it and it does not catch all notifications for me. And when clicking some notifications it would stay at the lockscreen so I would have to manually unlock after pressing the notification. It worked very inconsistent for me. Worked much better when I was using the Mahdi-rom.

This app uses your phone's motion, gravity, and proximity sensors to automatically turn on and off your screen so that you don't have to press any keys (software or hardware).
For instance, when I put my S4 inside my pocket or holster it to my belt clip, the screen turns off automatically. When I take the phone out, the screen turns on automatically as well.
I've tried a few apps similar to this before but this one just works very well and consistently.
I already installed it on my mom's and wifey's S2s and they love it too~! Just wanted to share the goodness~

No problem. I figured there must be others who will find this kind of app convenient to have around. I just love not having to press the home or power button every time I want to turn the screen on.

The author of the app said to expect a hit about 5%. I've been using it for 2 days now and I haven't noticed any difference so far. But then, I'm running on the ktoonsez kernel with -50mV, all-around.
Freekin love this app
Thanks for the heads up op! works like a charm, now I've got to get used to not pressing my power key on wake

Nice catch. Love this app.

The only time the screen turns off on me when I don't want it to is when I text and I accidentally rest one of my fingers over the proximity sensor by mistake. Otherwise, it's been good. I wish there was a time-delay option for proximity sensor to turn off the screen so an accidental finger covering up the proximity sensor doesn't turn off the screen right away.

I see. It's an extra step but you could pull down the notification menu and pause the app before gaming then turn it back on afterwards. My mom tells me that sometimes when she's watching Netflix, the screen turns off on her. I told her not to cover up the sensor but she just disabled the app.

According to GSam battery monitor, Gravity Screen Off is responsible for only 0.2% battery drain. I haven't noticed any extra drain because of this app.
Has anyone found a working flashlight app for the N5? I found it was pretty useful for me to be able to click a widget/icon and have the flash on the camera fire up. I had one on my Note, and found I miss the functionality.
Thought I would ask before trying the multitude of apps out there in the play store.
Thanks!

I use one called Tiny Flashlight + LED, works great and has a nice selection of widgets that you can place on your home screen. There is a slight delay though, that wasn't present on my last device.

TeslaLED is the one I've always used, it's by the same people who make Nova Launcher.
Is it just me or is the torch slow to come on? I noticed this in comparison to my Galaxys S3, which fires up without delay.
I use Brightest Flashlight

The n1torch I backed up from CM for Nexus 4 works.
I use a widget called Power Toggles available in the Play Store. It includes a switch that is a small flash graphic that turns the flash on like a flashlight. It is instaneous. The other toggles are very handy as well.

Power Toggles seems just as slow as any other app. About 0.5 to 1 second to engage. Think it might just be the LED itself is slow to engage.

Nexus devices don't support sysfs.
AKA the entire camera module has to be fired up before the torch can be turned on.

I'm running the Purity ROM on my nexus 4 and 5. The torch on my N4 comes on instantly when toggled while on the N5 its about a 4 sec delay before it comes on...so I doubt that reasoning..might be right..(I don't even know what sysfs is or mean)....but i can confirm its not all nexus devices

So one of my favorite features of Cataclysm is the smart radio feature. It really is a huge lifesaver for the battery on my N5. But as always I have that itch to flash something new. Are there other ROMs that have a smart radio feature, or is there a way to replicate this on other ROMs? Basically I wanna switch to 2G when my screen goes off and back to LTE when I unlock my device.

I accomplish this and many other automated processes that require multiple apps with Tasker. I even have a task set to switch to 2g when on wifi as my cell signal is better on 2g.

You will have to have a custom tile installed through xposed but that does not run on art. Your best bet is to get a custom ROM with the LTE tile and switch your network that way.

So I got the closed framework and downloaded gravity box, knock code, and app ops. While the phone was fully charged and on standby it turned from 100 to 75% in a couple hours on standby. And while using thenphone there was too much battery drain. Does anyone know from which this happens (I think GB) but please share.
PS. Before applying I would get 20h+ of battery on low to medium usage.
Doesn't knock code need the digitiser to be powered up even when the screen is off?
Try disabling each module one by one until they are all disabled to see what happens.
Please do not post questions in general. Post them in Q&A. You put a [Q] in your thread title so you should know where this thread belongs

The Knock Code drains your battery. It requires the digitizer to be constantly on, thus the drain.

The knock code module just replaces the pattern lock. It doesn't keep the digitizer on like the LG G3. Doesn't work when the screen is off.
Sent from my Nexus 5
Battery drain rates are very dependent on usage patterns and sometimes the most insignificant settings changes can lead to well hidden sources of current consumption.
So my advise is to try to remember if you made any changes in your applications or usage patterns right before or after starting to use Xposed, as your answer my lie there.
Also try to identify if the high drain occurs from Xposed itself or one of the modules, by deactivating and/or uninstalling modules and Xposed. Please be very careful that usage patterns might easily tip your conclusions off.
To somehow prove what I'm saying here, I've noticed that on a high usage day, my N5 can last as low as only 8-10 hours on a charge, while on a low usage day, after 12 hours since unplugging, it still has at least 80% of the original charge.
Have a nice day!
