I am running the liquid smooth ROM and I had a question that I do not thing is specific to the ROM. I have a black list of phone numbers that are rejected when they call my mobile number, however whenever I update my ROM or switch to a different ROM I have to re-enter those numbers which is a total pain. My question is, is there a file somewhere on my phone that has those numbers that I can back up and restore when I update or change the ROM?
I hope that makes sense..
One note, I am not using any 3rd party app to reject the calls.

Wrong section, probably why no one has answered. Belongs in Q&A.
Anyway, I'm assuming your rooted? If so go into TiBu & restore data for that app. Also see if there's a backup/restore feature in the settings of that app for next time.
Just saw no 3rd party app? How are you blacklisting?

Hello Everybody
I recently rooted my mobile phone and installed MIUI 0.9.9 firmware.
I like the color scheme and toggling features so far.
As I haven't yet started using its advanced features yet.
But I am experiencing one major issue in this firmware. Call management applications such as ShakeCall and MyPhoneExplorer are not working properly.
ShakeCall's functionality is completely broken.
MyPhoneExplorer is able to make out-going calls after I allowed it in permission prompt.
But even MyPhoneExplorer is not able catch incoming calls and messages.
Both of the applications are very nice applications and I am missing them
Please suggest me a solution.

I have enabled 3rd Party access in call settings.
Tried another shake call like applications, it too didn't work correctly.

I'm having the same issues when using Google Voice to make calls and with the GVoice Callback app. These apps were working fine on the Vibrant MIUI build when I was using it but not on the MIUI G2X ROM ported by Whitehawkx.
Thanks for sharing your concern.
We just have to find out whether the problem is caused by MIUI or Android.
Is Vibrant MIUI build uses Android v2.3.5?

Hello
I regret for the long delay in updating this thread.
Call management applications started working fine after I disabled 3rd party access in Other call settings under Programs tab in settings application.

Is there finally a way to get to the settings for call waiting , show your number in outgoing calls and call forwarding... last couple of times I ran miui they were greyed out...
I tried to call the Tmobile 611. Beside the fact that they have designed to keep all but determined customers from speaking to a human, this new Slide has "Caller Assist" I have never heard of this until I dialed 611 and got an app that seems like it is a phone call and talks you through connecting to the web site.
There is a button that can bypass that, but I don't want that "feature"
I have tried to use the bloatware remover in Titanium but the system locks up. I have to remove the battery to get back and the bloatware is still there.
I have rooted, have S off and superuser available. But I still cannot remove junk by the usual methods.
How can I fix this?
Use root explorer.

I used Root Explorer and looked up CALL and ASSIST.

What file, folder or whatever do I look for? Do I just delete it or do I do something through terminal emulator or adb?
Thanks

Hey everyone,
I was wondering if you all could help me out. I have installed the 7/22 build of jellybean and I send quite a bit of text messages. The problem is, I send a lot at one time and in JB, it stops me after I've send about 4 messages within a minute or two to the same person, asking me to allow this to happen. If I don't say allow, the text message will not send. By text message, I do mean sms to be specific. I searched through settings and found nothing to stop this message from popping up. I love the stock messaging app and I don't want to have to give it up unless there is no way around this. Does this happen to you and if so does anyone know a way around it? Thanks
hey i am running the 7-22 and gapps 7-19
i just sent 5-6 texts to my fb status update system and they all went through with no errors and they were sms messages
also i am having no problems receiving mms

I'm currently trying to recreate the issue. It's happened several times with normal text messaging to my girlfriend. It basically tells me that I've sent a lot of sms messages in a short period of time. A prompt comes up telling me that after I hit send. In order for the message to send I have to say "allow" in the prompt. The other option is, of course, "deny". This is an android OS prompt, not a superuser prompt. I can't seem to recreate it at the moment with google voice as my contact, but I'm sure it will happen again tomorrow when I'm texting my girlfriend and I will screen capture it, unless anyone knows what this is and how to disable it of course.
Is this the SMS to mms conversion count?

After some very specific searching, I found one topic in the GNex forums about the issue. It seems to be security for SMS bombing apps. Kind of a bummer for me. I hope this is disabled in the future or toggled somewhere. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1742226.html

Oh, weird, I've never gotten that or even heard that function existed. I bet someone could pretty easily hack the messaging app to remove that limitation. It seems like a valid security feature though to prevent any app from mass texting. Maybe you should just write longer messages, haha.

Yeah, I am having the same problem on my HTC Inspire 4G running unofficial CM10 called JellyTime by randomblame ported to my phone. The easiest way to avoid this would be to get a second texting app and bounce back and fourth between the 2 apps. I was running Go SMS Pro and got the same prompt. So that's the best way I can think of to avoid the prompt for the time being.
Ever get one of those "You just won a $1,000 shopping spree at Best Buy" messages?
That's what this is supposed to prevent from happening to you, so your phone doesn't text random people who aren't even in your contact list.
I would say... put up with it. Eventually the mass SMS spammers will get the hint and they'll stop, at which point someone at Google will lift the limit, unless an app dev fixes the apk itself, at which point you'll have to manually monitor outgoing messages.
Edit: I wonder if someone has tried taking the messaging apk from gapps 4/29 and put it in the gapps 7/26 package? Would be a sensible attempt at avoiding the security block, but not sure if it would negate the security feature itself...
Actually, there is an app for rooted users that I found while using the search feature, called BAMF SMS fix. Check it out. Unfortunately I no longer have the link to the file, but I still have the file itself. PM me if you need the file. It is a flashable .zip

Best integrated feature and don't see why they would take it away but still integrate blocked calling feature? Stupid. Know any third party apps that work with KitKat 4.4.2 for this?
So did Verizon take this feature out or maybe in the software update that brings us the Power Save modes we will get this feature back?
On the HTC site it shows it's still possible on the M8, http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8/howto/464987.html

Not a solution, but a workaround would be to install Who Are You from the Play Store. You can block calls and texts using it.

If you are really worried about hiding text messages, look for an app called Vegas SMS. This is the best program out there to hide text messages.

Made a thread on the Intl M8 forum trying to get someone over there to check. Will at least confirm if HTC said screw it you don't need this feature or Verizon/US Carriers (once other carriers get this device in hand to see) said screw it you don't need this feature. HTC says the M8 has this feature. Unless they are wrong or again only on the Intl version or maybe just latest Firmware since ours is so old and don't even have the simple Power Save mode yet. Geez my Sense 4+ had Power Save mode. http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8/howto/464986.html

Exactly! Always had this feature even on Sense 5.5 with Android 4.2.2 on my HTC One X+ device. Seems odd Sense 6.0 would take the feature out and leave in the block call feature???
Third party apps never work as well as fully integrated features IMO. Sure they can work for the most part, only takes that one time though it doesn't work to ruin it all, lol!

Long press a message you only get options for Delete, Call, Open Contact. That's it! If you go into a text conversation window you can lock a message by tapping it and shows a lock symbol. Doesn't hide the message at all, think all this does is prevent message from being deleted.
Well looks like there is hope people!!! Straight from the HTC website it provides it (see link above) and also just got confirmation from an international unbranded HTC M8 user!
1.54.401.5 and yeah, stock unbranded international.
So i guess we then have to wait for either:
A. Verizon push us an OTA update with latest firmware 1.54.401.5
B. We have to wait for S-Off and then we can update on our own to firmware 1.54.401.5 and have it along with a world of opportunities?!?:fingers-crossed:
Just tested out the block caller feature that we still do have built into the stock dialer app. This feature is useless, try it! I blocked a phone number. Then had that phone call my phone, after 2 rings goes to voicemail, i left a voicemail. Now my phone vibrates telling me i have a new voicemail and also displays an icon on the notification bar with a person and a lock next to them. I pull down notifications and says tap to stop call forwarding or slide to dismiss.
So basically if you want someone to not call you you're SOL! They can still leave you a voicemail and the phone shows you right away that someone you didn't want to call just called. Gotta love the privacy here, WTF?!?
Really miss iPhone here with iBlacklist. The only app that got it right all the time! Would not let people leave a VM, would just make a busy tone if they called. Above that would save their texts they tried sending you inside the iBlacklist app itself if you cared to read them or just delete them. This device has no options like this and seems nothing on the market is compatible with kit kat 4.4.2?

Check out Who Are You. It pairs best with YouMail, but it's not required. I use them both and once I ditch a call, it doesn't just hang up on them. It plays the Verizon Wireless number disconnected message and then hang up.

Does it block text too? Seems nothing blocks text in kit Kat 4.4.2 and HTC phones have issues not blocking calls instead sending them to VM.
