How To Make JB Status Bar TOTALLY Transparent? - Motorola Atrix 2

Editing transparency of status bar by editing build prop, any idea?

Has nothing to do with your build.prop...
For example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40278436
Please search next time. And do not start a new thread for something that has been covered multiple times, even in this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28874763).
Also, totally transparent can look weird on some views like the lockscreen...
And another option for you is to just install ParanoidAndroid or PAC-man - transparency is a built-in feature courtesy of the PA team.

Not sure. Might have to get a little creative to make it work with stock.. Or keep searching for different methods/guides.
On the same topic.. Looks like AOKP also has a nice transparent status bar... .. .

Stay tuned. It is a joint effort, and recently joint confusion, but none the less it is kind of working and should be out soon.

Great to hear!

Since the cat (or unicorn) is out of the bag, this is how the story goes..
I knew lkrasner was running into issues building aokp.. plus, I recently received an email from someone else (from the chinese forums) who was having troubles building it for the a2 also... So, I did what anyone would do, and synced the sources and tried myself.. and it happened to build rather effortlessly.. not exactly bootable, but it built..
So I messed with it to get it to boot (that meant removing kexec for me since I always get black screens) - and it is running basically like my other jb roms (except for a red LED bug).. I built it a few days ago, and I shared all of this and my process and methods with lkrasner..
Then, today, ironically, deveshmanish PM'd me about getting a ported version of aokp from the razr to boot on our phone.. and I let it slip that it's been built already.. Anyway, I gave him a test version, he put wang's kexec/kernel parts in there and is apparently running it on wanggjg's April 1st 3.0.31 kernel.
So, yes, at this point it is a joint effort.. I don't really have the time or desire to take on another rom project and maintain it and a new thread. But, I will help out and contribute and such.. And I suggested that lkrasner talk with deveshmanish, maybe get others involved, and maybe it will be posted in some form soon - probably maintained by lkrasner and rebuilt by who ever is willing and able..

Thanks to devesh for getting it to boot with kexec and the second screenshot.
Also, thanks to wanggjghost.. I'm sure he has no idea how he contributed to this yet.. Or maybe we'll get a different kernel in there.
Please do not PM lkranser, deveshmanish, or me asking for links to the ROM. It will be released when it is ready. Have a nice day..

Eh.. it is what it is.. I guess I have a special touch Gift..? Curse.? Only time will tell..
But, seems like there's still some work and clean up to do with aokp... and I will be taking a break from this android work for a few days at least. But, I should still be in and out of the forums and able to offer advice (wanted or not)..
Also, I just got Ravikirancg up to date with aokp. I originally approached lkrasner and him about it last week (or this week? it's all a blur - that's also why I need a break)... so, include him also if he wants and is available..
Good luck and godspeed...

Thanks, feel free to pm me if you want to help out, but don't unless you know what you are doing, we are not ready for testers. I will continue to maintain this as it was my sort of project originally until altered put me to shame by building it without even trying, but I would like to keep it a group effort, as that will only make it better.
This weekend or shortly thereafter I will clean up the source and sync it up to my github so more people can play with it, and hopefully we will have something soon.
AOKP is pretty bad ass from what I have experienced in the past, and as I can see here, they have only made it better, so we should be in fora treat.

Just too much information!!!!
A2 users getting more love!!

OK I need testers for my new ROM.BTW it's a kexec build so only persons who have been able to boot kexec and who are willing to try out pm me. It's almost ready but you should know how to get out of trouble.

So, uh, you do know that there is an ACTUAL CM rom out, right? Those guys were all doing unofficial ports, which is awesome, but kmobs stepped up and has an alpha build out for the device (which is now listed officially on the CM forums), so the other guys stopped trying to port it...you know, cause its already done.

yeah and I know that but also there is sense 3.0 or GB out there that are made and devs take them and change some stuff to their liking or little tweaks here and there that users may like better than whats put out .....after all that is how alot of this android revolution started and as I remember back in the day that was how CM started ....giving people different options of what was put out bu google ............extra feature here extra feature there little tweaks and all ...........

Both ROMS are based off of CM7.1 which is still in Alpha and source is not released. I hope they will be back up and running once CM 7.1 is out of development and source is released. Also the CM alphas are pretty darn solid, so hopefully they will progress quickly.

Sounds to me like these guys want something that's released as alpha, to be ... not alpha right off the bat and handed to them on a silver plate?

CM has already stated, they won't release source until it's absolutely up to CM standards. Otherwise, you have dudes just re-releasing broken stuff when they kang the sh*t out of it. I don't understand the rage these guys are exhibiting over this.

1) Learn to write in coherent sentences please
2) There is an OFFICIAL CM ROM out! Official CM >>>>>>>>> the rest of the CM ROMs
first off... they're upset with kmobs for using security measures to stop winzip devs from hacking up the alpha builds they were kind enough to give us in the first place.
second off... cm WILL NOT open their repos until all temporary hacks and major bugs are removed. deal with it! it's their code to do with as they wish. end users should be glad they prefer to use clean code over dirty hacks.
third off... kmobs and company have been working hard for months to bring you the alpha builds you see now. can't you see how someone coming along and hacking their work up with 7zip, throwing in some minor changes (i hope you're at least using smali), and then redistributing the work saying it's faster, cleaner, and better MIGHT SEEM A LITTLE DISRESPECTFUL to the original creators of the code?
Lastly, the cm team has no problem with people using their work, but at least have the courtesy to let them finish it before you DEMAND they give it to you to build from and keep it open source. by that i mean dont take their source, compile and build it, release a rom and then never release any source of your own. prove why your rom is improved over the original instead of just saying it is. oh and if you do improve upon it, submit it to gerrit for approval and GIVE BACK to those you take from.
sorry for the rant but demanding someone release their source before it's even finished is totally disrespectful and i couldn't just keep my mouth shut.
well first of all i write how I wana write if u wana read is really up to u buddy if not then look at another post I think the dust under the screen is were he party is at ;-) .....and I'm sure people are not DEMANDING I'm sure they are asking ....demanding and asking are 2 different things .......and all this community is about giving props and sharing hasn't it always been like that ......is not like props or proper thanks isn't given ........ but of course people will disagree cuz that's how the world goes round .....
fan boys will b fan boys ......
Sent from my Sensation using XDA App
Mmmmmm... No. What's been going on in Kmobs personal G+ feed is waaay closer to demanding than asking.
The ability to see that has nowt to do with fanboyism on either side of the issue, it's simply taking those rose-coloured glasses off and realizing that your favourite xda 'aosp from CM7' 'devs' are most likely not on this development path for the thrill of innovation, nor the joy of doing something truly useful for Android as a whole (like adding new features and such.) Nope, they're mostly in it for the length of their 'thanks meter' aka e-peen, and those clickthroughs/donations. Which means that they will certainly release roms that are based on an alpha, change a bit of ui wording here and there so they can feel justified in telling everyone that 'it's 90 percent their code', add a few half-assed tweaks that cause even more issues on top of that, and then claim it's the best, cleanest, most awesomest rom in the whole wide world.
Small wonder, then, why CM would want do a little 'brand-protection' that they are perfectly entitled to under Apache license.
But then, nowhere is it said in the big book of life that reality pills should be easy to swallow

Regarding there source, just let them work until it's done, after all look at MIUI! They turned around & based the foundation of that rom off of CM & now it's in Production... Don't get me Wrong, they put alot of work into it & I hope everyone understand what I mean regarding that.
Until then, just sit & relax... Have a beer or a case until they release the source for it..

I know what you mean, i always got a lock in 2-10 secs.
Even outside of US.
I just made a trip to Laredo and my infuse just DIDNT locked it was baaaad!! I was going mad I always got suuuper quick locks.
I tried several roms and modems all had no lock.
Then I came back to Mexico and i got locked in 5 second with 30 meters accuracy.
Just learned theres some areas where the Gps just WONT work :/.
So i get where all the issues come from even when in 6 month i never had an issue before

Makes sense. So just like different modems function better in certain cities, so does the GPS.
no wonder jordan left... he's in highscool and he's more mature than some people on this forum.
it's a shame...
correct me if i'm wrong but i thought jordan left because he was tired of dealing with impatience and ignorance... not immaturity.
that said, i agree about galnet.
the question i haven't had answered is why it had to be removed even though it was using a custom kernel to which the source was provided... idk.
anyone understand that situation better?
i thought jordan was having real life family related isses but was still here just not so actively involved because he didnt have the time. i can think of some other people that left because of the imaturity though. well that and some of them lost interest in the phone.
I have been away for a few days and I can't believe I go to look for the galnet update to find out the thread is closed and that they are banned, I missed something here, guess I got some reading to do

I will post this here as well:
I have found the Galnet port to be the most stable rom to date. We have started a thread over at Galnet to see if we can get the answers that XDA-dev is asking for. I have also asked to see if we can get an official Galnet port. I have also PM'd the Orginal Poster who released the Galnet port over here, to try and per-sued him to keep posting updated ports over on that forum. We will see. It would be nice if the people that are interested in the Galnet port to voice your request for continuation of the development by following this link, if there is enough interest I am sure they will at least look into the requests made. Just would like to say thank you for everyone helping out on the MIUI and Glanet threads. Looks like Galnet is going to take a look at the rom tomorrow and start having the Infuse included in their ports. Thanks again boost.. and also Jordan and everyone else. Keeping the MIUI Infuse dream alive.

VictoryROM + LithiumROM + * = My theme

Like the majority of us here, I love modding my phone to fit my personal taste/preference at any given time. Ever since I flashed VictoryROM I have been in love with most of it, felt it just needed a few more visual tweaks. With help from XDA member Deliberate I was able to get said tweaks done, and was pleasantly surprised to get a few other I didn't ask for but wanted. Let me know what you think.

Running GoLauncher w/custom icons, custom signal bars from Alteredlikeness, custom battery and status bar clock from Deliberate, DIGI Clock widget
Deliberate's battery mod also changed the settings menu slightly...the check marks and check boxes are a little larger. Running the inverted settings.apk theme courtesty of JRW 28 for his LithiumROM...works like a charm on VictoryROM
Alteredlikeness' status bar mod also came with the custom drop down toggles seen here. Deliberate's battery mod, originally for LithiumROM, also changed the color of the text in the notification bar to blue. I like it!
Another side effect of Deliberate's mod is the lockscreen, pretty much the same as the one in VictoryROM except for the ICS blue glow around the unlock and sound circles. Wasn't expecting this but like it alot.
I wish you could have seen me when I noticed this, the skinny ICS themed volume sliders and the ICS blue glow around the pop up box as in LithiumROM, my reaction would have you thinking I just won the lottery or something, LoL.
I've had this transparent blue XDA app for a long time now, since I had my SE X10i, fits perfectly with my theme! But noticed another pleasant surprise due to flashing the mod from Deliberate....the page loading animation. It used to look like an overgrown circular saw blade, looks much better now!
Just a couple more screenshots of my transparent blue XDA app with the ICS blue theme at the top, again courtesy of Deliberates mod.
I appreciate the work of the guys listed above and am loving my current setup thanks to you. It's nice to be able to run the ROM I prefer, yet still have some theme work and mods from other ROMs that I like as well. Can't thank you guys enough.
The last thing I need to make my setup perfect is to get the reboot option in the extended power menu.
Looks good, the inverted setting wasnt the only thing borrowed. Thats my framework-res as well. That's where your spinner, colored clock, lockscreen, and ICS style sliders come from.
It would be nice to have been at least asked to have been used. It took a lot of time for me to get this the way it is and not on any other Roms on the A2........

Here we go again
You seem to be of the impression that I pilfered your ROM and salvaged what I wanted. When the reality of what happened was someone posted a battery mod for your ROM and I simply flashed it on my phone. I was unaware the other mods this consisted of until I flashed it. So rest assured I am not trying to claim your work as mine or trying to pick your ROM apart for the features I want on the one I run, I took a chance at flashing a mod for your ROM that just so happened to work on mine. It's not like I'm a dev and cooking my own ROM and comprising it of your work without your permission, i'm just a member who likes trying different things and willing to chance it by flashing things intended for other ROMs to my phone with the hopes it works....sometimes it does, other times not so much. Since when do we as members need to ask permission to flash publicly posted mods to our devices? Where they do that at?
You know I never pointed a finger at you, but it took a lot of work to get what I did on my Rom and to see people using it without asking does get under my skin a little. So if this is gonna be how it is then I will just keep my work to myself........
I thought this was all sort of open-source..
And is it possible to put locks or passwords on your zip files if you don't want them picked apart - but still be flashable?
I don't think I've taken any of your theme mods JRW, just the 1% batteries for Victory at one time, and properly credited (though I've seen them in a thousand other ROMs, so I'm sure they are not "yours" yours)... But I got a lot of inspiration from other people's work and made it happen on my own as well..
So, this is why I'm gonna start from the ground up on my ROM. And maybe or maybe not share it.. And, be careful to credit properly if I do...
Nonetheless, looks nice 916, glad I could help you out...

If I really have to point put everything that was taken from Lithium I will. My point was it took a lot of my time to get the mods I did on my rom and for you to take them and distribute them as your own without even a thanks or asking is why we are here. This is open source, but credit os always given where it is due .....but you know what, you do what you think is right.....funny when you post something you ask for credit where its deserved but I guess when its not yours its OK to do as you wish ........I'm done........

I did not take one thing from Lithium... You're barking up the wrong tree. I haven't even downloaded it yet..
EDIT: And if you're referring to the rotating homescreen credit, I was just pretty excited that I figured it out for our model, and if you notice I said to credit me unless you figure it out for yourself.. And I figured I had to put that there with they way some of you devs/modders act...

You can do as you wish, and I understand your concern here but it seems to me you're overreacting a bit. Somebody running your ROM posted battery mods for your ROM, I seen them, liked how they looked and figured I'd flash it and hope for the best. Nobody stole your work, nobody did anything which would require your permission. I have the utmost respect for you, I really do, but unless you got permission from Motorola to modify their ROM to your liking then it seems quite hypocritical of you to expect us to ask for yours to do the same when in reality "your" ROM is little more than a modded version of theirs. Nobody was trying to be sneaky here brother, we all appreciate your contributions here and hope you can look back at this later and realize that.

Well whoever mixed the 2 together need to get with me and tell me exactly how they got the images they got. Because I can tell you exactly what I did and how I got them.........All I 'm saying is give credit due where it deserves. I put a LOT of time and effort into my Rom and to see people ripping it off is BS since I'm not getting any credit

It's all been spelled out clearly in the OP. If anybody is guilty of ripping you off it's me since i'm the one who flashed mods for your rom to my phone (running a different rom). But since i'm not a dev, not claiming your work as my own, why do I need to get your permission? That's the part i'm not understanding. How can you not be getting credit when "your ROM" is listed in the title of this thread and has been since the instance it was posted?

Omg guys im sorry. It was me. I used parts from lithium on ATRIX blaze v3. Cause I did like blazes lockscreen. I did port over the battery mod. But I can't remember where from. I apologize for not asking permission before doing this. At the time I didn't see any harm. Everything in my mod is JRW 28 except the battery mod. Me and. 916x10 just traded files and that's what he came up with. He didnt mean to not give proper credit because he probably didn't know it was jrw 28s mods. I never told him because idk, guess i just didnt yhink about it. He just wanted to share it probably because he thought others would enjoy it. So sorry I didn't mean to not give credit where it was due! So so so sorry!!!!
Sorry to u as well 916x10 didn't think u would get so much crap for this.
Also he never gave me credit for creating the mods he just said when he flashed my zip that's the outcome.

I didn't think anything of it to be honest, was just letting others know the outcome of running mods not specifically for the one I'm running. Never imagined I'd need to get anyone's permission to do so. It was not my intention to step on any toes or throw anyone under the bus, I apologize to any and all who felt I did either to them.

Yep, from now on i'm going to ask permission before I download anything posted for public consumption on a public forum I could understand if I didn't list his ROM, his name, at all in my OP, or if I cooked up a rom of my own and used his work without giving him credit, but none of that happened so his overreaction is unexplainable. Gotta be more to it but i'm done giving this any energy. Thanks for the mods JRW 28!
I think the point here is, is that we need to post the creator of the mod for every mod we use of were going to post screen shots and in some cases we should ask if we can use it. I see his point and it can look like your taking credit for it. I dont think that was your intention but its better to be safe than sorry. Were a community of devs, users and people that just want a freakin awesome phone. Lets be as respectful as possible. In the end, ITS ONLY A PHONE!.

Hello guys!
Just wonder - can you share this great battery mod? At least just image files for all the hexagons with numbers? It's really great and I would like to add them to my setup.
Greetings from russian Atrix 2 community
UPD: Never mind, have already found it in the Lithium thread.

IMHO, devs need to settle down and focus on their pet ROM

The main difference between idevices and android devices is apple would release one product at a time and make an all powerful push for it while android has many manufacturers giving us many choices. We all like choices, yes, but we would rather have a few good choices rather than a bunch of bad ones.
No, I am not complaining. I don't have any sense of entitlement. I am only urging the devs to rethink their methods. We have some dedicated devs here, yes. But it feels to me like the devs are racing to see who could come out with the most number of ROMs in the shortest time possible. I'd rather each dev stick with their pet ROM and focus solely on that.
I have several asus transformers from asus's series. The problem that asus is facing is they came out with too many models in such a short time. Because they only have so many devs working on the software, their stock rom are still unstable. Anyone using an asus transformer knows this.
Even in the dev section of the transformer, there are devs who try to come out with a new rom every other week and there are devs who came out with one and then stick with it. The roms with a dedicated dev are way more stable than the roms that are put in place by hit-and-run devs.
I hope I am not offending anyone. It seems to me like we have too many roms. I've tried them all, and while they are great I'd rather see them ironed out even more.
Ok, you can post hate replies now.

You realize our actual recognized developers are focusing on one single rom right? All of the various roms that are ported are from what use to be called kangbangers, 7zip jockies, winrar rebels. Outside maybe erikmm the rest of our roms are created by young kids that are trying to give the community a decent amount of roms to play with. I say outside erikmm because I understand he has a aosp rom he has been working on.

I know you are going to upset some people. I agree I also would like to see things like aries done but when all people want is roms to flash that is what you will get. We have two to three actual devs working to get this stuff fixed. They are hard at it. But two or three people can only do so much especially when they have a family.
Well if you want the few good choices there are plenty of GB roms and several ICS roms, including CM9 that can be considered stable, daily drivers.
We also have a lot of roms by other devs and groups that are alpha ports. You're not obligated to flash anything that's not to your liking. As I said, we already have a lot of stable roms that people are sticking with as the sole rom that they update/release.
Is there really much else the people who port multiple roms can do to make the roms better? I mean, they all use the same kernel. What else do you want them to do with the rom? Most of them are already stable and are daily drivers.
I for one love that so many roms are being ported. If it weren't for them all we would have for ICS options is cm9 and aokp. I think you should be more grateful.

This statement is one that upsets me when this kind of thread is posted. I can and I am very grateful for what is contributed here. However I can also have a opinion that doesnt flow with the community. I dont take the original post as a ungrateful post but more uninformed. To somebody that isnt up to date what the various "teams" are it would appear There are a bunch of "devs" giving us mostly working roms. Minor things not working but very much ready for daily use. But to people that know better they realize these ported roms are just ported roms. The real development is being done and its just two or three people.
Ill break it down.
Team Acid has given us the base to build ICS based roms.
Team FAH-Q has brought us a couple built from source roms and several nice ports.
Team Unknown have brought us many ported roms.
Then there is people like jeffsf, and jt that have contributed some very important things. Jt is responsible for getting us a working build of ICS, and jeffsf got oc/uv working.
By no means am I trying to slight any of the developers and rom porters. Just would like people to understand things are being worked on and pretty much daily. Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride. And for the love of all things android please stop telling people that should be grateful to me that is more offensive than outright insulting somebody. Because you are implying they dont appreciate anything and its clear that they are more uninformed than anything.

The reason why I say be grateful is because it seems like they're doing all they can do, porting. What else do you want them to do?
Most of the ported roms don't even have any bugs besides the cm9 bugs from the team acid kernel.

Respect the opinions of others. If all you can say is you should be grateful then really dont respond. The op stated he is grateful and just curious. Like I said originally its a matter of misinformation and misunderstanding of what is actually happening.
I don't understand what people are referring by stability here. Since leaked GB ROMs of 1 and a half year ago or maybe since having AntonX kernel, I don't remember any reboot or crashes. Actually besides battery life and TV out, to me, ICS ROMs are pretty much perfect. I think it is actually pretty clear what is the professionalism of every team in this community, I won't repeat what's been already said. To me, if someone is not satisfied or not getting what he wants he should either donate or try to make a change of his own. I try to do both, by making my contribution in translating ROMs and just lately donated to erik.
Team Acid and their friends are the solid rock on which we all (community contributors I like to call it) stand, so we need to embrace them.

No luck yet. At the moment I can get a brand new sgs4g for free from target mobile but that means a contract extension.
I tried to purchase a phone yesterday from a guy on craigslist but when I finally got around to buying my replacement sim card and asking the guy where he wanted to meet he told me he had already sold the phone. I'll keep looking today but it might not happen until the weekend.
For the moment I'll be rocking my old iPhone 3G

**Disclaimer** This is my opinion and my opinion only.
A rom like cm9 or aokp that is built from source isnt what I consider a port because you have to know something to get it working. Even with acidify you need to know something to get it to work. However I can read a guide similar to the one I linked you many months ago and port a rom. Many times all it takes is some adb lolcat and google and you can fix whats wrong. If your base and port roms are working roms the only problems you should have is whats not working in the base.
I feel there is a great deal of difference between somebody that uses 7zip and adb lolcat to port a rom and somebody that spends hours at a time editing code to create these base roms for all the ports. In time if the 7zip jockey graduates to build and editing source code then good on them they have made the journey that people talk about is the reason xda exists.

For some bugs not, for all remaining bugs, cause @The Dark Knight solved the problem of DeepSleep in his kernel v5.
May be a light at the end of the tunnel and a 4.4 ROM running on XL are coming

Actually the deep sleep bug fix came from @KillerKink and added to @TheDarknight's Phantom kernel v5.
@uberlaggydarwin also has a solution of his own to this bug, according to him. and also he may be the first to come up with the fix (I don't know who actually did it first. I guess It doesn't really matter)
Anyways good things coming our way in a few days, I hope.
He already fixed all of those things for a long time already

Users do not care where the fix originate from and XDA seem to be full of people who just compile and add other people work. This is probably the reason why uberlaggydarwin did not release his fix piecemeal. I myself have a fix for the sdcard but I am just going to lay low for the time being having seen for myself whats going on in XDA.

I understand your concern mate but if you see I've mentioned your name everywhere with deep sleep fix, so it seems like you can ignore misunderstanding caused by one member of forum and continue to provide your fixes as you might have seen that many people are waiting for stable Kitkat. I hope you'll understand what I said.

You are getting misunderstood , there is nothing like it ! #respect for you :good: ! Its just peolple got misunderstood as you havent released the kernel yourself ,They dont even bother to read the whole thread thats why !
Haha.
I suppose I should publish the rest of the source and start a timer until it gets "fixed slightly differently" by others.

I hope the need for credit don't ruin our device's future.:fingers-crossed:
And to those big mouthed morons who send hate messages to Dev's you are doing nothing good. So keep your mouth shut.

Well, at this moment, the only person who have used your BT fix is @DeviousFusion in his AOSPA rom
And he gave you proper credits.
Also, is this suppose to be a subtle hint?

Well, I think it's time to sell the XL and buy something that support OTG and CM.
I know that XL is good phone but look at it. More than half a year and we still waiting for CM. This must be a joke.

More than half year? Eh..
Almost an year..
Sony announced Xperia L on March 18, 2013
Available in market since May 1, 2013
It's a good device.. But selling and buying another phone would be stupid thing to do as the resale value won't be more than 10k INR and you do not get a phone with decent specs and good dev support in 10k..
So for the moment, enjoy Xperia L on stock ROM till @uberlaggydarwin brings CyanogenMod 11 goodness..

I agree with you. And for the dude above, who the hell would sell it in INR, I'd sell it in US, since I live in the Caribbean. Or maybe euros. I don't use inr.
