Just got a Black Epik TPU Rubber case off of eBay for just under $5. Its a nice case and fits the phone Really well.
Here is a quick link to an eBay search for the item:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=nexus+one+tpu+case
or for the exact item:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300388940071&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I've got a Zagg screen protector and I had a hard time with a different hard plastic case coming up over the edge onto the screen causing my screen protector to bubble around the edges. This case Does Not have that problem. It stays off the screen entirely. It sits about at the slight black plastic lip around the screen.
Its a great case and has room for all the plugs, etc. I don't have a doc but it does cover the 3 contact points on the bottom of the phone.
The power and volume buttons are covered by the case but the case has raised areas where the buttons are that make them easy to find even if they are covered.
Anyway, the case is also exactly like this Ultra-Case that can be found here(which costs 4 times as much):
http://www.ultra-case.com/product.php?pID=415
All in all, I recommend this case to anyone. It is really low profile and isn't sticky like a silicone case so it goes in and out of the pocket easily, but still has a good feel and grip to it. It fits well and protects the phone as it should. Material feels and looks durable so it should last a long time.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like about the case is the little red rectangle on the back that says Nexus One. The rectangle is attached with some kind of crappy glue that has smeared all over that back area around it on mine. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, maybe just take it off... we shall see.
Check the pics. Sorry for the blurry, my camera battery was about to die and the flash wouldn't work.

My guess is that all the TPU cases are all from the same original manufacturer and rebranded by each company/seller. Hence the ugly 'NEXUS ONE' crap stuck on the back (which I think comes off with some force).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT <-- that is 1 ugly ebay page lol...
The case looks good though, might have to get it if I finally get the N1... it says it comes with a screen protector - did it? Did you use it? How is it?

When you go to that eBay page, refresh it after it loads and it seems to fix all the black weirdness.
I didn't use the screen protector, I bought a Zagg protector. The one it comes with looked decent though.
dcmugen is the bomb. He sells the stuff every other accessory manufacturer does for the true cost - not some markup.
I also bought some matte screen protectors from him. Works fantastic.
Thanks for the link Bro.
good looking out.
nice and cheap price.. just got me one.
Should be ok other than I don't like the red 'NEXUS ONE' stuck on the back...
i'm using it right now. it does the job well. this version, the fingernail doesn't leave marks like his old versions would. fingerprints show quite easily. it's super smooth, just like the glass. not at first, but after a few days of using it the squeaky clean feel becomes much more frictionless. it's clear, and has absolutely no orange peel effect. no adhesive used. it is not perfectly edge to edge.
i dropped my ipod mini on it from about 3 ft above and the corner hit the screen. luckily the SP was on it and left a mark. no scratches on the screen, just the SP. i only had it on for 15 minutes until this happened. dcmugen agreed to send me out another SP replacement free of charge.
i just decided to buy a second case (white) and get another sp that way.
i want this...but the nexus one thing is SO UGLY!
They're fairly cheap, obviously. I have one, my nexus one badge fell off it straight away, not that I wanted it on there anyway. Cheap case is cheap. if you want protection, its fine. If you want some style, no fnx.
just picked up mine from the mailroom today.. case is okay... still had a lot of leftover gunk from the manufacturing process and was rather scratched up.. it's a throwaway/temp case for me anyways..
also got some antiglare screen protectors from dcmugen too but they don't cover 100% of the screen - more like 98% with 2% gaps on both sides..
the cases are meant to come with a free ultra clear screen protector but dcmugen forgot to ship them with the 2 cases i bought - msg'd him and he said he'd send them straight away. good customer service
EDIT: and btw, both the cases I bought didn't have "epik" on the back... and I ripped the red nexus one label off as soon as I got the cases.
I got mine.
Useless. There is no CUTOUT for the power button.

I actually like the fact that the power button is covered and can't be pressed accidentally while holding in landscape mode. You can still turn on/off by squeezing the N1.
The only problem is that N1+sleeve don't fit into a case any more. How to protect screen? Cellophane wrap on the screen is not enough for me

+1 that the power button is covered - actually easier for me to press the power button because the cover makes it 'raised'.
RE N1+sleeve: obviously the phone won't fit in the sleeve with the TPU case on. Just use a screen protector to protect the screen? There is a decent amount of "lip" around the front of the phone with the TPU case to ensure that the screen doesn't crack if the phone were to land screen-first if it were dropped.
Got one a few days ago. I find the power button actually easier to press than without any case. Volume as well. The red nexus one comes off super easy with your fingernail and then just rub the extra glue crap off very easily. Fits well with a full body phantom skinz clear protector. Overall I say it's great for only 5 bucks. ya there's some cases that are a little better quality but in my book not good enough to justify paying 15 to 25 bucks more. This is a steal. I'll be buying more in different colors.
Just got this case.
Looks and feels great.
And I actually LIKE the red Nexus ,One tag on the back.

Did you just want to show off the interior of your car, not to come off as rude.. but I don't even see why it would've been necessary to post that picture unless you posted a picture of the case also.
No separate thread on this case so I figured i'd make one, as IMHO it's the best out there for our device, and also the best solution to the slippery battery door issue. Here's my mini review:
The Kickstand case, I got from eBay, for $11 shipped w/ tax (just search for "fascinate kickstand"), which is half off the in store price you'll find. The case has a slight rubberized / soft touch finish, and has a grip pattern in it, which makes it much easier to hold onto. It's quite thin, except for a bump caused by the kickstand, which is leveled so the phone lays flat, by some "feet" on the back. That slight bump I actually like, because I can easily tell which way the phone is oriented in my hand without looking at it. It provides nice protection to the sides and corners and back, so I think it will provide added drop protection. It fits very tight, I wouldn't expect it to come off ever. What I really like, is that it barely protrudes above the front of the phone at all, it adds a very slight lip at the sides, and that's it. This keeps the phone quite flat/thin still and doesn't change how you'd interact with the screen at all. The slight lip should help protect the screen too. All the cutouts are excellent in positioning, and provide nice "cover" for the side buttons against accidental actuation.
Probably the nicest thing of all which I didn't expect, is that the Kickstand works in both Portrait with the phone vertical, and horizontal in landscape, due to the way they positioned the kickstand on the back. It works great - this takes care of one of the things I missed from my Touch Pro2 (the tilting screen). It also has a tensioner, which allows you to tweak the angle in horizontal/landscape a bit because it's "stiff". For the $11 I paid for it, it's worth every penny and seems quite solid/well engineered for the price.
Only downside I see is that it's a bit tougher to take the battery out of course.
Highly recommended!
Also, I missed the idea of using this with a holster, but found a decent universal horizontal belt pouch case that fits nice with even this kickstand case on. This auction is just one seller, there are many instances of this exact same case on ebay listed under multiple names:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270648647873
Just look for "carbon droid x pouch" or "carbon galaxy pouch" etc etc, to find one. The brand name is "Luxmo" on the package, the model is "LPHTCHD2CF1HBK". It says it's a "Leather Pouch for Google Nexus 1 / HTC HD2".
They're all the same case/pouch. What I like about this is you can use it with the belt hook for easy removal, OR use the belt loops for a more permanent one - it has magnetic closure, fits the kickstand case well, sits nicely on my belt, has good cushioning. It's easy to remove the phone using the hole in the bottom, just push up on it and the phone pops out. I also like the "carbon fiber look" it has, looks just like my holster belt I wear this on. There are plain leather versions just like this as well, that I'm sure are made the same way / fit the same.
I use this case as well. Being an employee ive tried every case we sell and this is by far the best looking one and adds very minimal bulk to the phone. I love it!

I also have this case and it is by far the best one I've tried on. The kickstand is really nice.
The OEM kickstand case seems to have a bad design IMO. The reason I say this is when you watch a movie the volume rocker is at the bottom and not easily accessible. Watching video is the point of the kickstand so why hide the volume controls at the bottom? This was the first thing I noticed when I saw the case at Verizon.

Um, that's more a fault of the design of the phone itself. I sorta agree, except Samsung shoulda put the volume should on the right side of the phone, and the power at the top. The normal rotation for landscape is counter clockwise, so the speaker is at the left, and the soft buttons on the right. This is because most are right handed so they're likely to want to use the soft buttons with their right thumb.
So it's no fault of the case that when the phone is rotated normally, the volume rocker is at the bottom. Not like that's a big deal ... just pick it up and change the volume lol.
Also this kickstand works when the phone is vertical/portrait, so it's one of the best kickstand designs I've seen for any phone, as many phone's built in kickstands or kickstand cases, only work in landscape/horizontal.
I third the rec for this case. Its much better than the hard silicone version I tried first, and it allows me to use the phone as a much more useful media screen when on my nighstand or plugged in on my desk at work.
Just ordered the Verizon one yesterday (thank you, 35% accessory discount) and should have it tomorrow or Wednesday. By the looks of it, I'm going to like it.
link to the actual case?
I've had this case since day 1, yeah it sucks about the volume being covered in horizontal but it's an awesome case, and I don't want to change it at all (I've changed cases roughly every month with my other phones)

Just search eBay as I mentioned for "fascinate kickstand" - there is only one case like this, you'll find it right away, sellers are selling it new for $11 shipped.
Got my case yesterday. Love it.
I really like it too, been through 3 or 4 others, this is the best.
I can vouch for the kickstand case too. Without the case, my phone felt flimsy and I was afraid I'll drop it any moment. Now it feels much more solid and comfortable.
On an aside note, do NOT get the screen protectors from Verizon. They suck.
I have the kick stand case too and i love it. i use the kick stand all the time.
nice
got this case based on your guys' recommendations and it's pretty sweet. It's not that grippy silicone that sticks in your pocket. It's got like a nice matte finish and feels pretty solid. Also, the edges don't rise up too high like other cases do so it doesn't get in the way when you're using the touchscreen.
Yeah. VZW(or whoever they get it from) really got this one right. Not to big, but it does add some substance. Good grip, but not sticky. Protects the phone, but doesn't hide the lines.
A+

I notice that it has pretty substantial cut outs at the top of the phone, any idea if this case is car or desk dock friendly by chance?
I picked one of these up based on this thread and I am happy I did. Very nice fit. Feels good and grippy in the hand - kickstand is a bonus. Great on my desk and nightstand.
Wouldn't change a thing.

I'm asking for this for the holidays. I've heard nothing but great things about it. I currently have the OEM silicone case, and it's nothing special.
Was looking at getting the otterbox commuter for my phone, but have a question for someone that has it. I tried the speck case and it had rubber buttons for the volume and unlock buttons. With that case you had to push exceptionally hard to get the button to push. I noticed the commuter case has these rubber buttons as well. Can someone with the commuter case tell me if the buttons are hard to push or not. What I am asking is does it take a lot of pressure to register the button push.
Thanks.
I have one on the way... I'll post my impressions when I get it tomorrow (I think).
The rubber on my otterboxes I have had were soft...it is a nice absorbing somewhat grippy rubber. I wouldn't see making the buttons harder to push then they already are.
I have one for my nexus one and I really like it. My brother just put in a order for the Inspire 4g and the commuter. The phone is shipping to my house because I have to set it up for him. I'll post some pictures when the phone arrives.

On my Nexus One I have no problems with button input. Since I have a trackball I normally never use the power button. But when I do I don't notice any problems.
Keep us up to date. I was looking for cases for this phone and it sucks that nobody has any good ones (in my opinion).
For your Nexus One, does it attract a lot of dust etc? I've never used one, but I hear people saying its kinda siliconish and i've used silicone and silicone sucks for pocket use.
Mine was just delivered to my house about an hour ago. I was wondering about the rubber buttons as well, so I'll post how they perform once I get home.
Got the otterbox on now, and the button covers are not stiff at all. It just takes marginally more pressure than normal. The case fits well and does not add too much thickness to the phone. The port cover is a bit touchy to close, but that might just take getting used to.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA app
IMO, the rubber casing improves the feel of the volume buttons. Before, it was slightly difficult to determine whether or not the button was pressed. Maybe it's just specific to the phone I got. Overall, I recommend the case but get a new screen protector.

I agree with this; the port cover is a bit fiddly.
I had the commuter for just over a week now and its a great case. Makes pushing the buttons easier i think.
I upgraded to the Defender today and the only issue i find is that it seems it was made to lock in the case with the face of the phone out. When i flip the phone to have the screen inside, the power button rubber gets pushed in a bit. The rubber on the outside is very very soft but gives a good grip. Bottom port is easy to get at like the commuter. The backside has the screen protector over the camera lense and the flash. This does not affect pictures or video that i can see.
EDIT: to fix the power button rubber being pushed in i took a file and ground out a small amount and fits perfectly now
My Commuter arrived earlier today, and I love it.
The volume buttons are actually easier to push thanks to the case.. the power button is about the same. Build quality is top notch and it doesn't add nearly as much thickness to the phone as I expected.
But most of all, I like the way it feels in my hand. Naked and uncased, the Inspire feels too thin and unconfident. With the Otterbox, it feels just right. You might feel like it's a bit slippery at first, but you'll get used to it.
Ordered mine, The otterbox site has them in stock and listed under Inspire 4G now.
Had the commuter on my Captivate and loved it. Good protection, gave the phone a good feel in hand, and made the buttons easier to use as well. Also liked that the ports were covered up and protected. Have not got a case yet for my brand new Inspire, although my wife has the speck case on hers. Think I will personally get another Otterbox just because the buttons seem very stiff on the Speck case. Plus, trying to get the phone out of that case is kind of like getting the battery off of the Inspire for the first time.

Any commuter case owners care to comment on the included screen protector? Does it affect the sensitivity of the touch screen much? Any edges of the screen protector exposed? Or are they completely covered by the "lip" of the case on the front?
I still have the included protector on my Cappy along with the commuter case. No problems with the edges rolling up or peeling. For me, has been pretty darn durable and I've had it on send the end of november.

Anyone mine taking some pics of theirs and posting it here for us to see? Thanks in advance.
If anyone is interested in picking one of these up, Otterbox has them back in stock. I also found the coupon code PSPNEagles04 which gives you 20% off and free shipping.
I just placed an order for one and 2 minutes after i check for my confirmation email and click on the link for the case again and it's on backorder. Crazy

Pretty good screen protector. Takes about a day for the initial resistance to wear off, and it's smooth sailing from there.
Hey guys, just got some awesome looking Android cases, so just wanted to share my impressions. I actually haven't seen any companies make a case like this yet, so I thought it was pretty cool.
First off, these cases look outstanding. The Andy the Android graphics on the case are really slick and give the phone a very stylish look. It's a bit more subtle on the smoke colored case, but it definitely pops on the blue case.
I previously owned a generic black TPU that had straggly edges, uneven cutouts, and inconsistent molding. Compared to this case, the Androidified case is noticeable cleaner. The Androidified case is cleanly cut, and has a consistent smooth molding. It's also tight and form fitting, which makes it bit hard to put it on the first time. But once you get it on, you can see that it conforms to the phone perfectly. The inside edges are a bit sharp, but I think it helps the case lay flat on the surface of the phone.
As far as protection goes, it's pretty much the same as other TPU cases go. It provides great protection against everyday scratches and small drops without adding a lot of bulk to the phone. I accidentally dropped my phone from my desk a few days ago without any scratches or cracks. The case also rises above the screen so that if you were to put it face down, the screen would be elevated from the surface.
There are cutouts for the micro-usb port, microphone, headphone jack, hdmi port, speaker, and camera. The power button and the volume rocker are covered, but have a button on the outside and is indented on the inside for easy access. This was actually a source of frustration for me on the generic TPU case, the button on the outside wasn't well defined and was hard to find at times. Along with a poorly finished side, there were times where I would mistake an unfinished edge for the power button. Thankfully, the smooth finish of the Androidified cases make this a non-issue.
Overall, I'd recommend these cases if you're looking for a stylish protective case that won't add much bulk to your phone. For $12.99, they are cheaper than the ones you'll find at Verizon, so I think it's definitely worth it. I got these at Amazon (my review is there too).
I also attached pictures of the smoke and blue Androidified cases vs the black generic TPU cases.
These cases are definitely great! the owner of the andriodify cases is a stand up guy who's all about introducing stylish quality produces at an afforable price.
Does this case have a cutout for the secondary microphone on the top? I really hope not because then I'll need to cut a tiny hole in the top of my case(already ordered one) :[

Case Problems...
The Case is all right but the one from Verizon fits better and the buttons are easy to press. With this case the camera doesn't line up and it is terribly hard to press the volume rocker and power button...very depressing as I love the style of the case.

I haven't received mine yet but if it's that bad I'll probably end up cutting them out myself, sure it's not going to look incredible but everything else about this case seems great, not sure why they'd ever think covering the power/volume buttons would be a good idea...
Agreed

Yea that's what I ended up doing was cutting them out it looks great other then my craftsmen skills lol, but it works a whole lot better now.
I'll be doing my own review of these cases too...maybe not on xda, as there is one already. As far as the buttons on the side are concerned, I did notice that they were a little hard to press at first. However, after using the case for more than a week or so the buttons are much easier to press; I guess they just had to be broken down some. I bought both the green and the smoke one, and they are both great!
The graphics on these are pretty nice...
I got one of these as well.
Yeah, the side buttons are a bit hard to press, but it gets easier with practice and the case seems to break in a bit as well over time. The first time I put it on it wasn't aligned properly, but every time I've taken it off and put it on since then it seems to get a little better.
My only real complaint is that a) it doesn't fit in the media dock, and b) when I take the case off to put the phone in the media dock it often pulls the plastic back off with it (I just need to be more careful in the future).
Coming from one of the generic TPU cases that I purchased on ebay, the covered buttons on the Androidified case was much better and easy to press.
In regards to the media dock, that must apply to cases in general right? I can't really see it fitting on a media dock if you have a case on it.
Yeah, correct. No case will fit in the dock.

You can find them by searching androidified on amazon
I got the red one with argyle pattern. It is a PITA to push the power and the volume buttons. So I guess not all TPU cases are made equal. I ended up cutting a cutout around the power button. Problem solved. And also around the USB port since some of the generic charger connectors that I have are too big to fit through the USB cutout on the case.
That being said, the Curzer Lite TPU case that you have, is it the same as the one that Verizon has in their stores? I think somebody wrote the Verizon's Charge TPU case has the best power button cover (and I can almost vouch for that having had Verizon's TPU case on my Droid X) but I'm not positive.
I have the Cruzerlite Androidified case and it is almost the same as the Verizon one but it has the android pattern. Cruzerlite also makes the Argyle pattern and they are about half the cost of the Verizon OEM ones
It's a decent case...good protection from small drops and looks fairly cool. I can't get the top around the screen to stay uniform, so the fit could be better. I'll give it a 4/5 and 4.5/5 on value. I'll be waiting on the Case-Mate Barely There!
Not diggin this case anymore. Hard to get off without batt door coming with it. Much sleeker without the extra size...hoping casemate puts out a barely there soon.
If anyone wants it...$10 paypal gets it shipped to your door. (Blue as pictured above)
If anyone is looking for that case that gives you the protection, in a thin profile. I have had just about every case out for this phone and this is the first one I bought and the one I have gone back to every time is the dualtek. Check out youtube videos of it. You can get the case for around 20.00 and I promise you will not be disappointed, this is definitely different from the version for the galaxy s3. I have the yellow one, and love the color, thinking about the black and white one next, hoping they come out with more colors. The plastic is a grippy, not slick plastic. Extrememly well made
I had one for my s3 then found the black cushion inside the case that touches the back cover left an imprint on my s3 I when the phone got hot and I couldn't get it off and I had to buy a new back cover and puregear sent me a new case but I sold it. I bought the yellow one for my s4 and it started leaving a little imprint also and it was a little too bulky and the buttons weren't as easy press as my uag case so I sold it.

mine should be arriving on Tuesday. from Amazon. the case had mostly 5 star reviews. they did note the buttons were hard to press. if you look at the customer images, one customer shows how he cut a slit on the bottom of each button area in the case, and now has tactile and excellent buttons. i am probably going to try that on mine and will report back.

I bought the case, but found my SkullCandy headphone jack won't fit through the opening. Yes, I can drill it out, but I notice in a number of online reviews this is noted as a problem to be aware of.
this case is very solid feeling. i was worried about the headphone jack but my 90 degree plug for my Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi's fits in beautifully.
i can confirm the power button is indeed a bit too hard to press and squishy. however the mod that an amazon reviewer posted does work. cut a slit in the rubber on the bottom of the power button and it is now much easier to press and tactile. very cool. the phone is a bit hard to get out but it is very very secure in case of a fall. great lip to protect the front, and this case inspires confidence. sides are grippy. only flaw is that the back of the cover is not grippy. i like that when i put it on smooth surfaces a case has grip on the back.
phones in this thing survived multiple 22ft drop tests on youtube and now i know why. it's built very well.
