Just got a Black Epik TPU Rubber case off of eBay for just under $5. Its a nice case and fits the phone Really well.
Here is a quick link to an eBay search for the item:
http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=nexus+one+tpu+case
or for the exact item:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300388940071&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I've got a Zagg screen protector and I had a hard time with a different hard plastic case coming up over the edge onto the screen causing my screen protector to bubble around the edges. This case Does Not have that problem. It stays off the screen entirely. It sits about at the slight black plastic lip around the screen.
Its a great case and has room for all the plugs, etc. I don't have a doc but it does cover the 3 contact points on the bottom of the phone.
The power and volume buttons are covered by the case but the case has raised areas where the buttons are that make them easy to find even if they are covered.
Anyway, the case is also exactly like this Ultra-Case that can be found here(which costs 4 times as much):
http://www.ultra-case.com/product.php?pID=415
All in all, I recommend this case to anyone. It is really low profile and isn't sticky like a silicone case so it goes in and out of the pocket easily, but still has a good feel and grip to it. It fits well and protects the phone as it should. Material feels and looks durable so it should last a long time.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like about the case is the little red rectangle on the back that says Nexus One. The rectangle is attached with some kind of crappy glue that has smeared all over that back area around it on mine. I'm not sure what I'll do with it, maybe just take it off... we shall see.
Check the pics. Sorry for the blurry, my camera battery was about to die and the flash wouldn't work.

My guess is that all the TPU cases are all from the same original manufacturer and rebranded by each company/seller. Hence the ugly 'NEXUS ONE' crap stuck on the back (which I think comes off with some force).
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT <-- that is 1 ugly ebay page lol...
The case looks good though, might have to get it if I finally get the N1... it says it comes with a screen protector - did it? Did you use it? How is it?

When you go to that eBay page, refresh it after it loads and it seems to fix all the black weirdness.
I didn't use the screen protector, I bought a Zagg protector. The one it comes with looked decent though.
dcmugen is the bomb. He sells the stuff every other accessory manufacturer does for the true cost - not some markup.
I also bought some matte screen protectors from him. Works fantastic.
Thanks for the link Bro.
good looking out.
nice and cheap price.. just got me one.
Should be ok other than I don't like the red 'NEXUS ONE' stuck on the back...
i'm using it right now. it does the job well. this version, the fingernail doesn't leave marks like his old versions would. fingerprints show quite easily. it's super smooth, just like the glass. not at first, but after a few days of using it the squeaky clean feel becomes much more frictionless. it's clear, and has absolutely no orange peel effect. no adhesive used. it is not perfectly edge to edge.
i dropped my ipod mini on it from about 3 ft above and the corner hit the screen. luckily the SP was on it and left a mark. no scratches on the screen, just the SP. i only had it on for 15 minutes until this happened. dcmugen agreed to send me out another SP replacement free of charge.
i just decided to buy a second case (white) and get another sp that way.
i want this...but the nexus one thing is SO UGLY!
They're fairly cheap, obviously. I have one, my nexus one badge fell off it straight away, not that I wanted it on there anyway. Cheap case is cheap. if you want protection, its fine. If you want some style, no fnx.
just picked up mine from the mailroom today.. case is okay... still had a lot of leftover gunk from the manufacturing process and was rather scratched up.. it's a throwaway/temp case for me anyways..
also got some antiglare screen protectors from dcmugen too but they don't cover 100% of the screen - more like 98% with 2% gaps on both sides..
the cases are meant to come with a free ultra clear screen protector but dcmugen forgot to ship them with the 2 cases i bought - msg'd him and he said he'd send them straight away. good customer service
EDIT: and btw, both the cases I bought didn't have "epik" on the back... and I ripped the red nexus one label off as soon as I got the cases.
I got mine.
Useless. There is no CUTOUT for the power button.

I actually like the fact that the power button is covered and can't be pressed accidentally while holding in landscape mode. You can still turn on/off by squeezing the N1.
The only problem is that N1+sleeve don't fit into a case any more. How to protect screen? Cellophane wrap on the screen is not enough for me

+1 that the power button is covered - actually easier for me to press the power button because the cover makes it 'raised'.
RE N1+sleeve: obviously the phone won't fit in the sleeve with the TPU case on. Just use a screen protector to protect the screen? There is a decent amount of "lip" around the front of the phone with the TPU case to ensure that the screen doesn't crack if the phone were to land screen-first if it were dropped.
Got one a few days ago. I find the power button actually easier to press than without any case. Volume as well. The red nexus one comes off super easy with your fingernail and then just rub the extra glue crap off very easily. Fits well with a full body phantom skinz clear protector. Overall I say it's great for only 5 bucks. ya there's some cases that are a little better quality but in my book not good enough to justify paying 15 to 25 bucks more. This is a steal. I'll be buying more in different colors.
Just got this case.
Looks and feels great.
And I actually LIKE the red Nexus ,One tag on the back.

Did you just want to show off the interior of your car, not to come off as rude.. but I don't even see why it would've been necessary to post that picture unless you posted a picture of the case also.

I am absolutely loving my Fascinate (rooted, lag fixed, and de-Binged of course). Awesome upgrade from my Droid Eris! However, I have one major gripe with it so far, and that's the battery cover, or back plate, whatever you wanna call it. I am definitely not a fan of the glossy finish on it. If my fingers are the least bit wet or greasy, it makes it very hard to hold onto. The battery cover on my Eris had some kind of slightly rubberized matte finish, and I never, ever had trouble holding onto that phone.
So, I'm looking for a solution. Ideally, it would be in the form of a direct replacement for the OEM battery cover that is made of the grippy material like the Eris had, but I might settle for some kind of stick-on skin, if there's a good one that will eliminate the slipperiness. I've searched a bit, but haven't found any good solutions yet. Anyone suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, but please don't suggest cases of any kind. I have a good leather belt holster already that the phone fits in perfectly, and adding a wraparound case of any kind would be redundant, and also would prevent the phone from fitting in my current case.
Actually, I think I found a solution, thanks to a thread on the Android Central forums. Stealth Guards is apparently giving away all their screen protectors away for free for a limited time. You pay only the cost of shipping, which for me was $2.85, and the protector was originally $14.99. It's actually a full body protection skin, not just a basic screen protector. I'll probably just use the part for the back, and not mess with the front screen protector part at all. Here's the link:
http://www.stealthguards.com/index.php/cellphones/samsung-fascinate-full-body-protection.html
Note that they have free protector kits for most all the popular phones available right now, and if you like their Facebook page, you could win prizes (such as iTunes or Best Buy gift cards) on the way to 1000 likes, and after they top 1000, they'll hold a drawing to give away a new 6th-gen iPod Nano.

THANKS!!! Just ordered one for me and one for my girlfriend... I didn't want to add a case, but this will keep our phones looking fancy!
hey this looks really cool. can you let us know how this works out after you get it? i was just at the bar the other day (you know how when ur holdin a cold beer and ur hands get wet) i was like god this phone is slippery
I got full body invisible shield.
I removed the SP and got realook because i didn't like the rubber feel on the screen.
But i left the back piece on it makes the back feel allot better and gives it a kind of rubbery feel and reduces finger prints and also helps protect from scratches
It and makes the over all phone feel solid.
Thanks for the link. Picked up 2 of these for my phone.
Thanks for the link too, got one for me and two coworkers. Hell of a deal even if it's mostly crap. I just want it forthe back cover too. Way too slippery.
I'd like it if Seidio's innocase for this phone just protected the back/sides and left the front alone. I like the soft touch on those...
Even my HTC TP2 had a soft tough battery door stock.
Oh dang, I forgot to reply back to this. I got my Stealth Guard as expected (just an envelope in the mail, almost thought it was junk mail at first). Sadly, there NO instructions (except for a YouTube video on their website, which was a joke), but after digging up some info online, I washed and dried the battery cover, sprayed it with some slightly soapy water, and applied the skin. I rubbed out most of the bubbles fairly easily, and as others have said, after 2-3 days, all remaining bubbles and odd-looking film went away, and if not for the ridge at the edge of the skin, you wouldn't know it was on there. Oh, I did have a bit of trouble getting the corners to stick down to the curved corners of the battery cover, but I kept working on them, and they did eventually stick as the water started to dry up a little. So far there's no evidence of peeling or anything.
I do have to admit that it's not as grippy as I expected, but it is some better than the bare surface, and should prevent the back from getting scratched up, which I was starting to see evidence of, even with careful treatment of the device. I'm undecided if I'll ever apply the front piece or not at this point, but seeing how clearly the back piece applied, I wouldn't expect it to affect visibility at all.
I ordered another one of these for my brother-in-law's Droid Incredible, and would recommend them to anyone else as well, unless you want to try a different brand, in the hopes of getting an even grippier surface for the back side. But I think that for a mere $2.85, you really can't find a better deal anywhere.

Well, I ordered the Verizon / OEM, "kickstand" hard case in hopes of a good solution for the slippery back. Looks like this case only covers the back and sides of the phone and leaves the front untouched which is what I wanted as far as a case, and it looks quite thin too. Plus, it has a kickstand built in which I really wanted since my TP2 had a sliding/tilting screen. The back of this case is grooved with like a patchwork pattern so I'm sure it's a lot grippier.
Verizon wants $20 for them, but I got it for $10 including shipping on eBay! I'll post back how it is when I get it, but I think it's the best solution i've seen.
Have the kickstand case & it's pretty good. It also has 4 raised "feet" at the corners on the back which give it some speaker clearence when flat & act as friction points for your hand or loose pocket. The kickstand is a good alternative for a desk cradle & makes utilizing the alarm clock easier.

Bulky cases like that don't work for me. I use a belt holster case that I picked up from Best Buy, and any other protector case would make it bulky to put into the holster. That's why this stick-on protector was attractive to me, as it adds no unnecessary bulk. But that's just my preference. If you prefer a hard case, you'll get no argument from me.

Maybe with the white fascinate coming out at best buy I can buy the white back. Looks nice.
Ok, got the OEM/Verizon Kickstand case in and the $2 Stealth Guards films. The kickstand case is THE solution for the battery door IMHO, but I got both mainly for this reason. Mini review of each:
The Kickstand case, I got from eBay, for $11 shipped w/ tax (just search for "fascinate kickstand"), which is half off the in store price you'll find. It is THE solution to the slippery battery door IMHO, and the best case out there right now. The case has a slight rubberized / soft touch finish, and has a grip pattern in it, which makes it much easier to hold onto. It's quite thin, except for a bump caused by the kickstand, which is leveled so the phone lays flat, by some "feet" on the back. That slight bump I actually like, because I can easily tell which way the phone is oriented in my hand without looking at it. It provides nice protection to the sides and corners and back, so I think it will provide added drop protection. It fits very tight, I wouldn't expect it to come off ever. What I really like, is that it barely protrudes above the front of the phone at all, it adds a very slight lip at the sides, and that's it. This keeps the phone quite flat/thin still and doesn't change how you'd interact with the screen at all. The slight lip should help protect the screen though. All the cutouts are excellent in positioning, and provide nice "cover" for the side buttons against accidental actuation.
Probably the nicest thing of all which I didn't expect, is that the Kickstand works in both Portrait with the phone vertical, and horizontal in landscape, due to the way they positioned the kickstand on the back. It works great - this takes care of one of the things I missed from my Touch Pro2 (the tilting screen). It also has a tensioner, which allows you to tweak the angle in horizontal/landscape a bit because it's "stiff". For the $11 I paid for it, it's worth every penny and seems quite solid/well engineered for the price.
Only downside I see is that it's a bit tougher to take the battery out of course..
The Stealth Guards films are better than nothing, but not much grippier than stock. They come with just two films, front and back. Application and clarity is similar to other "invisible shield" type products. Not a very good screen protector (orange peel, tiny bubbles, not crystal clear), Steinheil is WAY better, but they don't have them yet for our phones so I'll use this in the mean time. Also, they cover the light/prox sensor at the top of the phone, which I found made the automatic backlight adjustment sorta freak out and switch more often than it should (probably because the protector is relatively thick and not crystal clear) - I cut a tiny window out around them with a razor blade and that fixed the issue. They shipped in an envelope, inside another envelope, I ordered 3 sets for myself and friends, and every one came with wrinkling/damage. Fortunately the films are very durable so the films themselves were unharmed - it was the paper backing that was wrinkled. Still, they could of reinforced the envelope with a little cardboard.... Also they come with no instructions or packing at all, just bulk/oem packed. Still, for $2 they were worth it, but not worth much more than that.

How did you get them for $3? It says they are $5.
So I received my Trident Aegis Case today and I love it. On the one hand it is bulkier than both the Cimo and Diztronic cases. It doesn't feel as grippy as the Cimo which is what I have been using.
On the other hand the phone feels like it could take a bigger hit. Also, the buttons are a lot easier to press than with a case or even without a case. The power button was a bit of a frustration for me but not so with this case. The cover also has covers for the ports.
To answer another question in another thread, you can attach a lanyard to this case, two little holes on the same side as the volume bar.
I will update when I use it some more to get my impressions for every day use. I took pictures.
It also comes with a screen protector, but I have not used it since I already had a different one on the phone.
Here's a link http://www.tridenteer.com/categories/HTC-ONE-S{47}HTC-VILLE/ It comes in black, blue, green, pink and red.
Just to chime in, I've been using this case for about a week and I can echo that the buttons are MUCH easier to press in this case. It was frustrated with the power button, especially with the D3O case from T-Mobile. This new case is like night and day.
Trident does a really good job of balancing silicone and hard shells so that the phone still has plenty of cushioning in case you drop it while not being too 'sticky' from the silicone. This is a welcome from the typical gel/silicone cases that get caught in your pockets.
I'm really quite gentle on my phones but having this same type of case on my last phone gave me plenty of confidence is not having to baby it. Tossing it around and dropping it doesn't make me even wince anymore. The One S case is no exception.
Love this case! I have the blue one also. Best color imo.
I managed to get a black Trident Aegis off ebay for my phone and so far i'm loving it. Works really well and it's alot easier for me to handle now. As a lefty, I always had issues with the power button but now since it's more prominent, I can reach it pretty quickly.

I received my green aegis awhile back. Love the color and feel of the case. Not bulky and as mentioned earlier, easy to push power and volume buttons easily. (Lefty also)
Only issue I have, and it may not be one, the corners, though covered with the silicone, seem like if I were to drop the phone on a corner, how much impact resistance will it absorb... Again, it may be enough for a normal 3-5 foot drop.. though not willing to test it out intentionally. :cyclops:
does anybody knows if there is a possibility to purchase one of the trident Aegis for my One S in Europe, especialy Germany?
would be very nice.
greetings,
H.

Depends, it lifted mine a little bit on the bottom of the phone near the capacitive buttons so I just trimmed the next screen protector corners before placing it.
I think this has more to do with the curved glass screen than the screen protector.

How does it look? Can you post some pictures, I am thinking of getting the One S with that case.
im 14 and i dont know if i should get this case or the kraken version i like the kraken because becuase it has a big lift so the screen get scratched which do you think is better
Thanks for the pics, helped me decide to get this case
I want to get this case but at the same time I am very iffy do to the fact that it is sooo bulky, any advice for someone coming from a Diztronic?
personally I prefer no case at all.. besides, from my experience, ONE S is not a easily scratched phone...
putting a case of any sort destroys the original design, this is especially true with iPhone, one of the most beautiful design out there, but 95% covered in a case which then is no prettier then my uncovered ONE S.
just my taste tho
I currently have mine removed, the bulk wasn't really the issue but the silicone made it difficult to slide in and out of my pocket.
I got my case a couple days ago and I love it. its not too bulky imo, it give it more grip for me and I don't feel like im always going to drop it if I grab the phone wrong. I think the case looks great as well (I got the blue one).
Thought I read somewhere that the Trident Aegis case for the One S covers the notification light. Is that true?

You guys can just do what I do and put a dab of loctite gel inside the case where the button sections are. PROBLEM SOLVED!
I had the D30 and a little glue inside and the buttons became easier to press than without a case at all.
Cheers.
If anyone is looking for that case that gives you the protection, in a thin profile. I have had just about every case out for this phone and this is the first one I bought and the one I have gone back to every time is the dualtek. Check out youtube videos of it. You can get the case for around 20.00 and I promise you will not be disappointed, this is definitely different from the version for the galaxy s3. I have the yellow one, and love the color, thinking about the black and white one next, hoping they come out with more colors. The plastic is a grippy, not slick plastic. Extrememly well made
I had one for my s3 then found the black cushion inside the case that touches the back cover left an imprint on my s3 I when the phone got hot and I couldn't get it off and I had to buy a new back cover and puregear sent me a new case but I sold it. I bought the yellow one for my s4 and it started leaving a little imprint also and it was a little too bulky and the buttons weren't as easy press as my uag case so I sold it.

mine should be arriving on Tuesday. from Amazon. the case had mostly 5 star reviews. they did note the buttons were hard to press. if you look at the customer images, one customer shows how he cut a slit on the bottom of each button area in the case, and now has tactile and excellent buttons. i am probably going to try that on mine and will report back.

I bought the case, but found my SkullCandy headphone jack won't fit through the opening. Yes, I can drill it out, but I notice in a number of online reviews this is noted as a problem to be aware of.
this case is very solid feeling. i was worried about the headphone jack but my 90 degree plug for my Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi's fits in beautifully.
i can confirm the power button is indeed a bit too hard to press and squishy. however the mod that an amazon reviewer posted does work. cut a slit in the rubber on the bottom of the power button and it is now much easier to press and tactile. very cool. the phone is a bit hard to get out but it is very very secure in case of a fall. great lip to protect the front, and this case inspires confidence. sides are grippy. only flaw is that the back of the cover is not grippy. i like that when i put it on smooth surfaces a case has grip on the back.
phones in this thing survived multiple 22ft drop tests on youtube and now i know why. it's built very well.
So I picked up this case at a Verizon store this afternoon. I paid 39.99 minus 25% as I get that discount through my work. I have to say, this case is VERY nice. Adds very minimal bulk and if it works like advertised, should add decent protection. Here are some of my observations:
-The camera is recessed enough that if you lay the phone down on its back, it will not scratch the lens
-The buttons functions very well. Meaning they have good response and feedback through the case
-All of the ports and holes line up perfectly. The mic hole on the left is slightly bigger (oval shape, sort of) so this fits the Verizon version as well. That is the version I have.
-The hole around the camera/flash/pulse meter is plenty large so it will not interfere with the pulse meter function thing
-Not at all a lint magnet. The opposite as a matter of fact
-Does show fingerprints but not a huge fingerprint magnet
-IMHO, has the perfect amount of grip. Slides in and out my pocket nicely
-Edges are raised (I would say 1mm) so if you lay it down screen side down, the screen will not scratch (not sure how it will work with a screen protector though. I don't have one installed so I don't care.)
This one will definitely be a keeper. I also have the OEM S-View case and like it a lot, too.
Hope this helps if you are thinking of getting one.

POSTCEPTION
OK, I think I managed to get pics attached. See my OP. I am definitely not a photographer.
It's a very nice case. They had them in store when I went looking for a case for my phone, but opted to go with the original Samsung case instead.
I have one, very slim, nice feel, not sure about the orange inserts protecting against drops though.
Mine was $34 in store, I couldnt take my spigen tough armor any longer.
The heart rate monitor works (my tough armor didn't work, other had better luck). It fits with tempered glass screen protectors.
Its a tad hard to get off though, to change the battery out
Did they have the clear version?
No love for the Tech 21 case.
I have had a tech21 case for just about every phone both myself and my wife have had. Both of us are kind of clumbsy and we have never had a ding, or crack, or broken phone. Those little orange strips really work! Twice I even accidentally threw my phone and it went skipping on pavement about 15 feet (I was running while holding the phone and it hit my knee and went flying). Not a single scratch to the phone, although there were some good ones on the case. I'm waiting for the case to go to amazon at a much cheaper price since I don't get 25% off
Tech21 Classic Tactical
I have the same case, but in all black, so the orange strips don't show. Really snug fit. Waiting for my tempered glass screen to come. Will report if case interferes with screen protector. Does anyone else have a Tech21 case with wireless charging hooked up? Does it work thru this case?
I really want to use the phone without a case and just a tgsp.. But I am unsure how scratch resistant it is. I am about to receive a replacement phone from Google as my first had issues. What do you guys use?
Definitely get a screen protector. Just having it in my pockets caused many small screen scratches over time.
As for the phone itself, the beveled metal edges around the screen scratch and dent VERY easily. A slight accidental bump can permanently mess it up pretty badly. The back metal of the phone seems to hold up very nicely, though.
i have no screen protector or case and I wouldnt have it any other way. That being said the edges are a thinner metal then a coke can so it will nick easily
This phone is too slippery to use without a case imo. I use a Spigen Thin Fit to help with grip and I'm happy.
Always wrap your thing!
Using a slickwraps skin. It's much easier to hold without a case because it's less heavy and thinner (due to how long the phone is)
I'm using my phone absolutely naked, have insurance in case something happens to it in lieu of a case.

I feel the same way however I'd like to keep this phone looking good.. I've gone with the Rhino bumper which is thin, discreet and you can still feel the back of the phone..plus the protection is supposed to be amazing.
The only problem I have now is that the case looks good too so I want to protect that now lol.
30 dollars with shipping, I'm in the UK and it came in under a week. A great case.
All I have on my phone is a dbrand skin. Unfortunately, I had an issue where it dropped a short distance (6 to 12 inches) and landed on a corner and it knicked up that corner near the screen pretty good, but not enough to convince me to buy a case yet... lol Haven't had any problems with any screen scratches or any other cosmetic damages yet.

I'm in the UK too. Did you get any customs charges or anything? Was it straight from Rhino shields website? Cheers

Straight from the evo labs website. No restrictions. Here within a week. I did pay p&p but that's expected. About 4 quid I think.
One thing id like to say though, the rear clearance is not 100% the very centre of the back is slightly exposed, the bumper does not offer complete clearance when you push it against a flat surface.
If you don't know what I mean.
Take your phone and slide the back of it along the edge of a surface, say a mantelpiece or a shelf and whilst the start of the case is covered, towards the middle is not..
Not the end of the world but I'd have liked the clearance, ironically, tech 21 always offers this , something to consider.

Unfortunately, my N6P is my only camera at the moment. I'm sure most people wouldn't even notice the ding from a distance, but every time I run my finger along it, I cry a little inside.
Have a good one!
I have a glass screen protector, a Dbrand black carbon fiber skin for the glass panel on the back, and carry the phone around in a FitBag pouch.
This phone is the first where i must have a case for traction, its soo slippery and i want to hold it casually and treat it like a normal phone. I bet if i had it in my pocket it will just defy gravity and just fly out, would get a skin but seeing how easy it was to bend the bezel with my finger nail, i dont want break it in the first year,
I got one of these, the thinnest case i could find.i know it wont help in a fall but it will help against wear and tear

I've always rocked my phones naked. This time around I'm using a skin. Had a front back skin. Did drop it once too >_<. Thankfully it's just a small dent right above the camera visor. The skin on my phone is slippery so I ordered a more grippier one and took off the front skin because ambient display works better without it.
I have only a d brand frame for the camera.
I have glass screen protector and tried a clear thin case, but am back to no case..just the glass. No problems. I did add a little non-slip round piece to the back..it stays in my pocket just a little better, and totally stops it from sliding off a flat surface.
In and out of pocket all day, I am not real careful about keys or coins and no issues. I have done this with HTC M7,8,9 also with no problems. I hate hiding a good looking phone with an ugly case...and no case I have ever seen enhances the look.
Any one know of a transparant case that is compatible with slickwraps? Bought the galactic series but want some extra protection...

I think it needs no protector. However,my wife bought an iPely screen protector from Amazon for me.I think it feels perfect. That's great.
