As much as you could sell iPhones / Galaxies on craigslist for I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often to people

If you have the right software law enforcement can track down the phone. I would assume that people who steal phones at gunpoint aren't very tech savvy.

Sadly, Samsungdive was my only option. The phone has probably been sold and factory resetted already but i'll be sure to install some tracking apps next time. Experience comes at a price!.
When I saw the the thread name I thought to myself, this is definetly a South African as this happens far too often down here with some people losing their lives over a damn phone.

The GS4 is worth it, definetly, got my GS4 as my GS3 broke, used my GS2 for 2-3wks and got GS4 on launch day, and I've been happy ever since, it's a lovely phone, more refined than GS3.

Get one that you can install as a system app so that when it is factory reset it doesn't go away unless the buyer knows about rooting.

Cerberus is brilliant and totally controllable from your laptop / pc / or another phone... it can take photos of whoever tries to unlock and puts in to many false attempts.....

My phone decided it wanted to go for a swim on the 4th and is dead. Tried bag of rice to no avail. I have the insurance and was given the choice of the HTC Sensation or Galaxy S2. Went with the Galaxy.
Anyway, I just want to say thanks to everyone on this forum for the awesome ROM work and support over the last year or so. It's too bad we can't get the display drivers API from LG so we can get some ICS with working video love, but oh well.
Again, just want to thank everybody. I will now be hanging in the Galaxy S2 forums until my full discount comes into effect in February and I can get the S3.

It's $130, just called. My phone has been shutting off and going crazy when off the charger. Selected GS2 as well. Have to send the G2X back within 15 days.

I called in and asked them what the replacement was. They said that the G2x is discontinued and not available as a replacement, so they gave me the option to choose between the SG2 and the HTC Sensation. When I said the SG2, they even gave me the option to choose between Black or White. I chose black.

Similar situation here. They apologized that the g2x wasn't available and offered me a Sensation. I played it off as I hadn't heard of that phone before and asked if she'd mind waiting a minute while I looked at the phone online. She said sure and that I should check out the GS2 as well, that was another alternative. I said I was familiar with that and chose it, opted for white
Well as I stated in other post I was needing a replacement so I called in. But they didn't offer me a different phone. They shipped out the same one. Its cool with me but weird how "its not available" but I got one

Yea and he more then likely had to pay. That's just how T-Mobile does. Anything aside from hardware defaults you have to pay about 100-130 not sure exact price

If you have insurance call them up tell them what happened and they will either offer you a different phone like gs2 or the same for that 100ish. I needed a new phone but they didn't offer me the gs2 they just sent me the same. But then again it was a free exchange so who knows

I had to pay too, said the phone was acting up, battery dropping quickly, had to pull battery constantly. I also told them that I stooped at my TMobile store and they suggested I call them.
I've had to pay in the past too, fire a charging port issue. I believe you always have to pay, no matter what happened. I received a refurbished phone, perfect condition.

Say what you will about the SG3 radio... But I have never dropped a call or had a 4G outage since I purchased it on launch day. My Nexus however was a completely different story. The Nexus will give you a new rom to play with every night, but the GS3 will give you fewer headaches in the signal and battery departments.

i just rooted and start to play with my GS3 running CM10 so far so good, even is to late to return it, but ass soon i follow all the steps i can keep playing with it, im pretty sure official CM coul hit Verizon GS3 sooooon

Even if the bootloader dont get unlocked, ill be happy using the kexec method...other than the extra 30 seconds boot time, I see no difference. Also our current flashig methods dont trip the flash counter since were Not flashing non-stock firmware in odin!

I had an Epic Touch (on Sprint) and went to a Galaxy Nexus (on Verizon) then a S3 and IMO it's a huge upgrade. I absolutely love this phone and wouldn't even consider going back to a GNex. The only thing I don't like is the physical home button but a stable AOKP will resolve that. As for the locked boot loader I was a little concerned too but with Kexec it's irrelevant. They already have CM9/CM10/AOKP running on this phone. I'd rather just use Kexec knowing I can return to stock then void warranty with a bootloader unlock. JMO!
Both are great phones, I have the GS3 and my old man has the Nexus. Touchwiz isn't too bad if you get use to it.
Just a place to bash trolling iPhone lovers. Let them know why the s3 is the most superior phone in the world.

iphone users could care less what we say (I know, I work with about 30 of them), they know 100% that they have the best phone ever made & that's that.

I've used both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone, BOTH are great phones, it's just preference for some users.
Personally I prefer the greater customization of Android, some others may prefer the ease of use in iOS.

TouchWiz still looks the same which is disappointing.
I dont run touchwiz ROMS so upgrading seems pointless to me.

Only complaint i have cosmetically is those ugly black dots at the top of the phone minus the front camera. The two on the s3 don't bother me but more? I know there censors or something but I think they could have done a better job and making them not so visible. Just my 2 cents. I'll still upgrade, cause I've gotta have the latest and greatest!

Although it seems like a great device, I don't see that "wow" factor over the s3. I have like 5 upgrades that I could use and it still doesn't seem worth it. The software will eventually make its way over here. My hardware never seems underpowered and my battery life is great so my real world upgrade would be for a nicer screen.
I'm gonna need a rehabilitation center for this phone, I bought it 4 hours ago and every time I put it down it takes 2-3 minutes before I am yearning to pick it up and play with it again. I think that Samsung has slipped some chemical in the phone that creates an addiction. Is anyone else experiencing this? Has anyone found any decent techniques to rehabilitate themselves?

I have a gf and still, play with my phone all the time, which makes her pissed which makes really good sex, or no sex, its a gamble lol
I have an amazing gf who is pretty much the only one who can break me from this addiction. And pointless? Yeah, I'll admit it is a pointless thread, but isn't that what the general section is for?
