NFC, larger screen, removable battery, removable SD card, better camera, thinner body, universal charging port, and that's just the hardware..

iphone users could care less what we say (I know, I work with about 30 of them), they know 100% that they have the best phone ever made & that's that.
Most of them just give you a blank look if you bring up ANY other phone........

And I thought religious debates were over and here we are again with apple and samsung xD and yes all of us are aware of the s3's capabilities but let us allow other people to believe in their own right. They can dwell in their illusion as long as they want so let them be.

I just love how Samsung makes it look like the iphone. Jk. I know they're being sued for that. Hopefully, they don't quote me. Lol
Good bye HTC Rezound, hello Galaxy S3!

I've used both the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPhone, BOTH are great phones, it's just preference for some users.
Personally I prefer the greater customization of Android, some others may prefer the ease of use in iOS.

Agreed the only plus for the Inspire was the forum on here for it is really good, and it was easy to root and flash correctly.
Also side note I'd be willing to do some snooping around to figure out how to port some kind of multiboot to the Skyrocket.
However I feel like the major hardware differences will be major problems am I right?

FWIW, Init2Winit recently announced that they are looking for someone to continue development on BootManager Pro. I used it on my old Inspire 4G and it worked great. Still looking for something...Anything...like it for the SGH-i727. I have zero coding skills, so if you think you can do something with it, please contact them for the sake of the community!

The nature of their relationship is like... "frienemies"
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Samsung makes like 10% of their sales to Apple, so its a close relationship otherwise. Although if they grew a pair, now would be a time to "complicate" the relationship because the iPhone 5 would be quite delayed, killing their sales, and some of the fan base who are looking to upgrade soon.

10% wouldn't make a huge deal to Samsung, the best thing they could do now is hit Apple where it hurts the most: cripple their iPhone 5 production without much prior notice by not selling them parts, and we'll see who the ***** is then. I wish one of Apple's supply companies would put them in their place so they can see how dependent they are on other companies even though they keep sueing them. Apple doesn't make anything on their own as far as hardware like Sammy or Moto do, so they wouldn't get very far if others started treating them the way Apple treats others, then they'd figure out how dependent they really are. Someone's knocking on the door, I better go it's probably the Apple police looking for people that don't blindly think they're great, lol.

Tell that to the thousands of factory worker who albeit already live under the poverty level, that they no longer have a source of income to support their families.
10% is big bro, and HUGE for a company like Samsung...who reported 40 Billion revenue in Q1....
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
Problem is they have a contract with Apple, and unless they are willing to break that contract and without a doubt get sued with absolutely no hope of winning, they won't do that.

iPhone 5

Man does the new phone look boring and same old, same old.
Now to see how far HTC pushes the ITC...
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/09/10/apple_htc_patent/
For those that don't want to click, HTC is seeking to ban the iPhone 5 in the US due to the fact that HTC owns 2 patents relating to connecting a device to a 4G or LTE network.
Realistically, they'll probably just use it as leverage against Apple for something else rather than have an all out ban on importing the devices; but it will be interesting to see the result.
For the phone specifically...I agree *yawn*. 4 inch screen, big deal. 5 icon rows, whoopie... Absolutely nothing new in that department.
Sammy is also gonna strike at apple with its 12% of the world's LTE patents

Whoopie? Really? 5 icon rows may seem like no big thing to you but I'll have you know that Apple has a patent on the number "5". So nobody has the right to use 5's without Apple's permission.

I was a little late to the smart phone era. The main thing that got me to the iPhone a while back was the fact that you could jailbreak it. At the time, in my opinion, and personal knowledge, Apple iOS had the apps and the features that I wanted in my professional and personal life. Since then, the manufactures, developers and community like this forum have taken the high end android based phones far pass anything Apple could put out. I want to break my phone so I can get a SIII or something just to keep testing out all the awesome things coming out. Keep up the work guys!

But seriously, when (if?) there's an S4, it really does need to be a significant upgrade from the S3. Why spend all that money for a new phone just to get a little bit more RAM, a little bit faster processor, and a few other very minute improvements? I was ready to sell my SR to get an S3 just before they announced it, but I decided not too because it was so underwhelming. Based on today and *trying to be a reasonable individual* I think that, compared to the jump from SR to S3, the iPhone 4S to iPhone 5 is a pretty good upgrade.

Nor does the S5... Or the Z2... Or the Find 7...
I think the question we should be asking is why did every other manufacturer decline the functionality?
My guess is that it either isn't too great with battery or the keyword HAS to be "Hello Snapdragon" which didn't fly with them.

You're right! I wasn't aware the GS5 had that. Indeed they're most likely using the chipset feature.
But this raises another question, why didn't one plus customize their keyword? "Hello Snapdragon" is kind of a mouthful. I guess it doesn't really matter.
I can't help but wonder if this functionality can be hacked in. I'd think it would be easier on a AOSP based ROM.

The core is low power in order to transmit that information it would need to cause a wake lock which could easily be blocked. I would be more concerned with backdoors that are in the closed source radio blobs
