One plus one has always listening, we don't. The hell, qualcomm?! - Verizon HTC One (M8)

Why do they get it and we don't? This is so frustrating.

Nor does the S5... Or the Z2... Or the Find 7...
I think the question we should be asking is why did every other manufacturer decline the functionality?
My guess is that it either isn't too great with battery or the keyword HAS to be "Hello Snapdragon" which didn't fly with them.

You're right! I wasn't aware the GS5 had that. Indeed they're most likely using the chipset feature.
But this raises another question, why didn't one plus customize their keyword? "Hello Snapdragon" is kind of a mouthful. I guess it doesn't really matter.
I can't help but wonder if this functionality can be hacked in. I'd think it would be easier on a AOSP based ROM.

The core is low power in order to transmit that information it would need to cause a wake lock which could easily be blocked. I would be more concerned with backdoors that are in the closed source radio blobs

They bent over backwards for Apple because they have been kicking themselves since they passed on the iPhone the first time. They saw the chance to steal a big amount of AT&T iPhone users and jumped. Now if they actually stole a lot of AT&T iPhone users is a different matter. I don't think they stole that many so far. I think when the next iPhone comes out, they will see a big influx.

I said what I said because Verizon changed their closed ways for a iphone... Not sure why they wouldn't do it for an Android phone. The nexus phones are sellers as well and if they really want to take away users from all carriers (not just at&t) they need to have one in their line up.
They will be able to take advantage of having the fastest network (while they still can) with a 4G nexus phone.
Talk about killing it! They would rape the competition having an iPhone and a 4G nexus phone.
The time is now if they are smart.

 Yea, hopefully Samsung can tell Verizon to move it with this. I'll be surprised if a update doesn't come out before to fix any issues or if the JB update will include them. This phone is great but, their are a few issues I hate. One being the music popping.
Wait so if this comes out for the INT varient is it really that hard for developers to just transition it over to our verizon model?
I was hoping they'd add a couple unified widgets to it with the update.
I love this phone (features, screen, battery), and Touchwiz isn't as bad as people make it out to be..... but..... Is it too much to ask that they add a contacts widget (so that I don't have to use a different syncing app) and a social feed widget that go along with the email and calendar widgets? I miss having a unified feel across the board like on sense. It seems that no matter what widgets I download and install from the market, they look horrible next to Samsung's calendar widget which I've grown to like a lot.
That's really my only gripe on an otherwise great phone. Still looking forward to seeing what JB brings.

I agree, the direct call was great. I also liked that you can take a screenshot by swiping your hand over the screen. And the little notification that there's a missed notification when picking up (causing a short vibrate). Help, can't put down my phone!

I'm gonna need a rehabilitation center for this phone, I bought it 4 hours ago and every time I put it down it takes 2-3 minutes before I am yearning to pick it up and play with it again. This part is not credible. They installed an LED with orange and green; period. It reminds me of an April Fool's joke many MANY years back when Palm announced a "software color mode" and those not knowing better thought that suddenly their monochrome Palm Pilot's would have color capabilities. The LED colors can't be changed with software. So, I'm a little suspicious of the entire piece because of that one detail.
Besides, if I haven't heard it from @evleaks, I don't believe it's real.
LED
I think the different LED flash notifications would be awesome! I used to have this on my Moto Defy and I love it. I am going to try this ROM out tongiht.
