Get another non LG phone .
But seriously, consider wiping this thing with either Rom for recovery or cleanup batch, then install fresh.

I just brought my "other" g2x online today with my personal creation (cleanup batch), followed by CM7 install. The same phone that was constantly overhearing, rebooting and what not was working fine all day today.
I recommend a wipe followed by fresh install.

Reinstalling the rom? What a pain in the ass lol
Btw, what exactly is cleanup batch?

Cleanup batch = ROM for recovery - ROM push. Search in development thread.
I prefer it over ROM for recovery as it does not push T-Mobile stock, so you can go straight to CM7. With ics or jb read the fix for internal sdcard.

That is odd, but as long as the problem is solved.
I say that because I used to have same battery pack and never had overheating.

Glitching since rooting

Hi guys Yosif here I could really use some help here I rooted my phone a couple mouths ago with super one click everything went swell until lately my phone keeps stuttering and resetting itself (not often but still ) and my camera constantly fails T-Mobile contacts backup is constantly running I don't get it! What does this mean? and what should I do? Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Well you rooted...so the better question is what did YOU do? I don't see how you can say its glitching since rooting when you only started having these problems recently. what did you change? How about you try going into recovery and try wiping the cache and if that doesn't work try a factory reset.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
I tried wiping the cache the phone is running more smoothly but camera and other apps are still pausing and the camera still fails I did a fota fix and deleted a few apps ie inception, drive smart and Facebook, don't know guess I'll try factory resetting. I'll report back with the results. Thanks
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
if you're still on stock...you can try flashing the rom. check you the bible thread and see if one of those are the best options for you.
if not, there was a thread about a non-functioning camera a few days ago. might answer some questions:

I think that's your problem right there. I remember back when the phone was first released, that people were deleting that as part of the "get rid of bloat" phase, and running into problems as a result.
check out the noobs guide to odin in the bible. i would say to flash to krylons stock kb5.
Did the factory data reset now everything seems to be fine thanks for your assistance

And by the way, you CAN remove DriveSmart (or freeze it, rather). I've done it since KC1 and it hasn't affected a single thing. The camera bug would have nothing to do with that.

Who doesn't wipe???

Due to the recent departure of a certain dev, I've become curious who doesn't do a full wipe before flashing a new rom and why you wouldn't. Is there some unseen benefit I'm unaware of?
I think the more important question is who doesn't make a backup? I've learned from losing stuff to backup anytime I flash anything. No matter how safe it should be.

exactly. ive been doing this since my droid1 and hasnt failed me yet.
Wiping is honestly a pain, if I'm switching to a new ROM I'll wipe, but if I'm just upgrading then I won't. The only time I've hoenstly ever had a problem was wiping and restoring, I've had some weird errors when doing that (Home and Search button wouldn't function).
I thought on these phones you had to wipe it 20 times???
But I agree, if you are changing ROMS and not updating to a new version of the same ROM, you should wipe.
And Chingy took his ball to his own playground so y'all go play with him there.

i usually wipe every time i install a new rom. whether im going from 2.0 to 2.1 or rc1 to rc2. I always wipe just to make sure i dont have issues later

Would there be a way of asking it without alluding to some well known recent event? Anyone in the know is gonna make that assumption no matter how I posed it, so why not just be honest? That made me want to ask, after wondering in my own head for a long time, and I honestly would like to know why someone would flash one ROM over another. What kind of luck have they had? I've done it a couple times just being in a hurry and nothing pretty ever came of it. That's all. We've chatted in IRC. You seem like a good guy. Not looking for bad blood.

Phone shutting off during the night.

So, I've got this annoying issue where my phone decides to randomly shut off in the middle of the night while charging. Well, of course it turns back on, but to the battery charging screen. The problem is, I need my alarm, and for two days now I've woken up late due to this. I'm on stock Froyo, UCKH1. Rooted and CMWed. Does anyone know what could be causing it?

My thought on this is that the phone could be crashing from something. Check what apps you have running. Have you ever noticed your phone reset during the day.

It's not a bad phone. It's something software related clearly, but I've done stock recovery. I feel the next update will fix a lot of things, including issues not everyone has, so I'll just wait it out and get a real alarm.
EDIT: One of the biggest issues I've seen with this phone is that the Froyo it shipped with was kind of half-assed. I mean, it functions, yeah, it works, but does it work like it should? Not really. The Froyo on this phone is buggier than a picnic taken over by ants.

She's on MIUI, I thought it was a problem with SetCPU, but I put her voltages and everything back to stock.. it must be something software related.. gotta keep tracking the little bugger down

Yes they would start but won't finish until boot up process finishes, meaning by the time you see your home screen after a flash they're still running and setting everything.

Yea, I have to say, ten minutes is extreme, sure, there may be some runonce scripts or something that take an extra 30 seconds or so, but if anything once you get all your stuff loaded only then will you want to wait a moment for all your apps to be granted SU permission (that ones that need it at least) and the last bits of the system to load.

Two hour battery life please help

I'm ruining stock ICS 4.0.4. Noticed yesterday my phone was really sluggish and battery life would go from%100 to dead in about two hours. I went into settings then apps and looked at my running apps and my phone was scrolling through all of my apps. I don't think that's normal. My widgets are slow to activate and my phone is slow to respond. Any help would be appreciated. Does this sound like a virus or a simple fix?

Best way fresh install, format internal sd.
That way you know for sure if it's a virus or not.

That's not going to tell you if its a virus noob. It could be any number of things causing the slowdown. What are your friends credentials because if its not a background in networking security he's got nothing but here say. Unfortunately for you I am a security professional. The likelihood of a virus is slim to none. Its more likely memory issues some apps probably consuming more than its share.

Bad info and fear are not good input either. The reset would probably help but not because of a virus but freeing up tons of previously used space.

This is a good idea.
You may have a app wakelocking keeping your CPU running and not deep sleeping like stated above there is like a .01 percent chance its a virus.
Wipe every thing reflash ROM of choice let settle then install your apps one a time waiting a few minutes between them so u can see witch one dose it.
Read up on the wake lock thread and see what betterbatterystats tells you. Or you could just flash a new rom

Hey thanx to all who responded. I ended up backing up my phone and doing a reset. Lost all my sips but that's no biggie. Went back with sock ICS and all seems to be fine. Once again thanx for helping out a somewhat noob!
So just to see if I understood :
You are using stock but rooted (?)
And your battery last only two hours.
I had the same issue with a ROM. First you have to shut off al your radios, data, gps, wifi, bt... Just to be aware if none of these things that are draining your battery life.
Then you should try to verify your battery charger. There's an sticky here in the forum. And lastly you have to check wakelocks... There's a good discussion about that here also.
I know it's kind of disappointing at the beginning, but when you finally understand all the symptoms of your phone you will solve all the troubles really quick... It's like having a newborn baby, at the beginning you don't know why they cry but when you learn about them you can identify every "kind of cry".
Best regards.
