So, I've got this annoying issue where my phone decides to randomly shut off in the middle of the night while charging. Well, of course it turns back on, but to the battery charging screen. The problem is, I need my alarm, and for two days now I've woken up late due to this. I'm on stock Froyo, UCKH1. Rooted and CMWed. Does anyone know what could be causing it?

My thought on this is that the phone could be crashing from something. Check what apps you have running. Have you ever noticed your phone reset during the day.

Nope. Used to have a few issues with it crashing during the day, but I haven't had any issues with daily crashes in a while.

It's not a bad phone. It's something software related clearly, but I've done stock recovery. I feel the next update will fix a lot of things, including issues not everyone has, so I'll just wait it out and get a real alarm.
EDIT: One of the biggest issues I've seen with this phone is that the Froyo it shipped with was kind of half-assed. I mean, it functions, yeah, it works, but does it work like it should? Not really. The Froyo on this phone is buggier than a picnic taken over by ants.

My wife has been having the same problem with her captivate.
She's on MIUI, I thought it was a problem with SetCPU, but I put her voltages and everything back to stock.. it must be something software related.. gotta keep tracking the little bugger down

I would like to go back to ginger bread has anyone who hasn't switched bricked recently?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
When I first read about the bricks I switched back to froyo, I stayed on it for less than 72 hours before I switched back to gb. So far my experience has been great not a single random reboot and everything works as it should. I'm more hesitant of messing with system files as I normally would be but I think I can hold off tweeking if the trade off is a complete gb sense experience.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
I don't see any problem with switching back, since the intiial bricks (3-5 people?), I haven't heard of anyone else bricking.
Just be sure to wear your tinfoil hat when flashing.
I don't think there have been many (or any) bricks since the announcement
I'm running CM7 gingerbread just to be safe. Ill switch back when the dev who originally posted the warning says we are good to go back.

Yes. Call volume is a tad bit low (not a problem for me but may be for some people who are hard of hearing, or work/live in a noisy area). Absolutely no problems with 3G and 4G works by just switching from 4G to 3G, getting a strong signal, then switching back.

It works plenty well enough to use daily. The battery life wasn't great for me. since being on Das Bamf 2.0-5 I've really started to like the new Sense bits so I couldn't go back to CM7. Plus the battery seems to last forever on 2.0-5. If my phone takes a dump I guess I'll at least be able contribute a broken phone to the crew trying to figure out the problem.

From what I've read, you'd lose 4G, which is a deal-breaker for me.
I'm waiting for the next leak of Gingerbread before going back.

You don't lose 4G. I have had a constant 4G connection for almost 42 hours. The only time you may "Lose" it is when rebooting but all you have to do is switch to 3G and back.

I'm not sure where you've read it doesn't work. I've used CM7 in a 4g area and it worked fine. Some may have had problems with 4g not working or hand offs between 4g-3g but for the most part it works.
Yep 4g working fine with 223 radio for me with CM7.

CM7 is fine. 4G handoffs are fine, everything works fine so far. Haven't found any issues yet. Only small annoyance is after I get off a phone call, the screen wont respond to anything unless I lock the phone and unlock it again. But that only seems to happen if the other person hangs up first.

Infuse is like that person that you can approach and has a very good and easy going personalty.

Need some advice. I have been running infused 1.5 since the release. I have loved it so far, but for the last week or so I have had many issues with random shut downs and lock ups. Also, applications that used to work, no longer work properly. So my question is, what should I try. Just remember downloading infused 1.5 and re installing? Or completely going back to stock and advancing from there? I'm not completely savy with all this android stuff. So any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance

I'm having the issue on stock... sometimes I check my phone and the power is off or it's in a state of where I have to hold power for 10 seconds to get it to restart. Getting frustrated with Samsung's issues. :-( I never had these issues with my HTC.
Hmm, maybe a bad app corrupted things?
I'm very stable with Infused 1.5.0 + a modified Infusion kernel variant.
The Infusion kernel should be very stable if you do not use the overclock/undervolt features. You can even get a stable device when using those features, IF you are careful and methodical about choosing your voltage settings.

Yeah I'm assuming a bad app has corrupted it.... just don't really want to do a factory restore until either Gingerbread is available, or a viable ROM that I can put on it. With the stagnant development for the phone, I'm just waiting until one or the other happens.
Yeah ive had this same problem before. It was an app causing the problem. Started deleting apps, and never happened again ever since

Froyo wasn't the problem either. In fact I'm still running a Froyo rom as my daily driver. It was all the bloatware. As soon as I got rid of all the unnecessary stuff T-Mobile had preinstalled I stopped having issues with my phone.

This is not necessarily true. There are different models of G2X, what the differences are I don't know but the LG Update Tool will brick one of them (though it can be fixed).

First off, 1080p video is only through LG cam; no other camera app is capable of it on the G2X. And yes, the official 2.3.3 build removed the LG camera, replacing it with the (significantly weaker) AOSP camera. However, a team of devs has gotten the LG camera working on 2.3.3 and is currently trying to get it onto 2.3.5.
Am pretty happy with it even tho I didn't start having major problems like rebooting untill I upgrade to 2.3 but its not really a big deal because it only happens once in a blue. My friend on the other hand I feel bad because he upgraded to gingerbread and still has every problem known to the g2x. And the reason why I feel bad is cause I told him how great the phone was so he went out the purchased it at full price. Shortly after I joined u wonderful folks at xda and started reading the nightmares
