[Q] clear all memory with a smashed screen. - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I have got to send my tablet in for repair after smashing the screen. Is there a way I can clear the memory of all data etc without being able to use the screen?.
Thanks Scotty.

By using ADB .
Or if you can remember the button sequence for a factory reset .

I Do not know how to use adb and cannot use the screen to be able to factory reset.
Thanks Scotty
Managed to do it using the volume up and power key. Hope this had removed the alarm that has been going off every morning that I'm unable to turn off lol.
Thanks Scotty.

I imagine it's gotta be pretty precise you'd be suprised how many peeps can't hard-reset there device on first try, keep a trying and good luck
.
I trying and its impossible ;/ Is there any other way to hard reset ?
Easiest way to do a hard reset:
-pull out the battery
-insert the battery
-push the reset button (AND HOLD) and next push the power button (and hold till you are in the bootloader).

EqX
.
Doesnt work too . I think nothing will help ;( When I do this step-by-step windows is running anyway.

xda zinc can not hard reset help me out?

hi guys having problme on my xda zinc it has user lock i m trying to hardreset but not let me do it what to do?
To perform a hard reset, use the stylus to reach the reset button found besides the device's camera button. Keep the stylus on the reset button and press the Up Navigation button at the same time.
*Note: Hard resetting the device will cause the device to be reset back to its original default settings and all data will be lost

If the device doesnt turn off you should use the reset button, use a pin to poke the reset hole.

I can only think of two things not tried.
1. Open unit disconnect battery hold volume down and reconnect battery; may not work either.
2. Send for repair.
Anyone else have an idea or thought?

This is a near last attempt to get menu to select fastboot or possible recovery. It has worked several times prior.
Good Luck!

If he can't get to recovery means it's bricked and need to be sent to asus for repairs. I wonder if its expensive to fix a bricked device..

Can you power it down? If not try removing battery (on your own risk) for 30sec then put back in and try to get into bootloader (Power button+ Vol Down).
If you get in try recovery or flash new recovery via fastboot.

HELP neded! adhell 3 bricked my device...

.... actually i think it was my fault.
I run a stock german t-mobile s7 wich was recently updated to OREO
I managed to install adhell 3 which worked fine as an adblocker. One nasty T-mobile app kept draining my battery so i decided to enable the app-disabler on the home screen of adhell3. Unfortunately this seemed to have disabled all apps , including all system apps. Now i am stuck in a bootloop.
Can anyone give me some guidance how to resurrect my phone?
I am in vacations right now.... and i would really appreciated having a working smartphone again...
Thank you in advance...

Because you can't go into recovery mode when you stuck in a bootloop, following option should help: flash your stock recovery, TWRP recovery or any other recovery for your device you want via Odin. After Odin is done and after the screen goes off you have to imadiately press volume down, power and home button. Now you are in recovery mode and you can factory reset your device. If you don't have a PC near you, you have to wait until you battery is empty, charge it and then you can go into recovery mode and do a factory reset.
Thanks for the answer!
On my device i could somehow mange to enter the factory reset from the odin screen. But i have no clue what i actually did? Do i have to reinstall oreo now? If my google backup is older than the error i produced i guess it is save to reset the device from there no?

At first, I have to correct myself. I meant volume up, not volume down for recovery mode.
Factory reset from Odin screen? What do you mean? What did you do? And if you did a factory reset and can start and use your phone normally again, everything should be okay. I can't answer your last question because I have no idea.

You will have to wait until your battery discharge fully after that you can enter in recovery mode by pressing volume up, home button and power keys simultaneously. I have gone through this too.
