[Q] Problems with stock rom after trying custom rom's - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok here is my problem i flashed custom roms trying to see what they were like on the tf101, after flashing cyanogenmod my sd card no longer mounted so that was kind of a deal breaker so i flashed the stock rom back to the device and my sd card still doesn't mount unless i use paragon NTFS +HFS and format it as NTFS and then mount via the app. (NTFS and fat32 worked fine by default with no app in the stock rom)
then i tried the ubuntu touch os for phones and tablets, keyboard freaked out and closed every time i went to type so again back to the stock rom now wifi doesnt work right and it wont get on the internet half the time or see other computers on the network. anyone know a fix for these issues?
both of these things worked fine before using custom roms/os's.

nvflash it back to total stock, since there is probably leftover junk from when you flashed your device that is causing things to not work.

[Q] error - Preparing Tablet storage

While trying to flash a new ROM I think I may have unplugged the USB cable with the tablet still mounted to a laptop. I now can't seem to access that storage space in any way and am in turn unable to flash any ROM. I don't like the TnT and am trying to flash a ROM without it. Any ideas how to proceed?
Thanks in advance!
does it boot up at least? may be able to factory reset and start over. or even power+VOLUMEUP to try to recovery boot.
i just put on tntlite 2.0. it's super fast. doesn't use a computer. it just strips the stock OS
It does still boot but tablet storage is not accessible. When trying to get into recovery,i get a triangle then it boots normal. Not sure what else to try. Tried mounting in windows and linux to format our repair..no luck!
sounds like the storage partition is corrupted and it crashes when it tries to read it, expecially if you unplugged the cable mid-flash (ouch!)
clockwork mod should let you reformat and partition the internal storage, goodluck, hopefully it's not a low-level problem w/ the storage data structure, ya never know if you were flashing it when it crashed, depends on what mode it was using to flash data to the disk (normal write vs low-level format equiv)
Thanks KM....just to follow up on this thread...I had to return the tab to sears....I exchanged it for a new one and have put TnT lite 2.0 on it. I'm not all that happy and plan to try zpad as it seems like a smoother and faster responding ROM.

[Q] tablet erases any new file on reboot??

Hey everyone,
So I got my tablet today and have been working on it for the past 8 hours!! I finally got CWmod on it and running. Had a nightmare of a time getting it to work correctly and after using NVFLASH to nuke the whole tablet and install the stock ROM, then updating i was able to get CWmod to run. Now I'm having a really odd issue.
I can boot into CWmod. I repartitioned the SD card, mounted it. I can see the device in windows but when I add ANYTHING to the internal SD card it is completely gone once I reboot the device. I'm trying to get a ROM on it but it's like the drive is locked or something really weird. It copys onto the tablet just fine. the second I reboot everything is deleted.
I feel like I'm missing something here. I had that issue with it when I ran the stock ROM. I could change something and it would not stick after a reboot. For example registering my device on kindle and then downloading books. as soon as I reboot the machine it's as if i never registered it. I'm really at a loss as to what to do with this. I can't seem to get it to save anything on the internal storage.
Well after fiddling with it for a while longer I'm about to give up. I used NVFLASH to get it to the stock ROM again. updated to 3588 and yet again, I can't get any changes to stick. I can change anything and everything on it while it's powered on. The second I power it off and reboot it nukes everything I did (and takes close to 5-6 minutes to boot). I even mounted it and deleted every single file on the internal storage. They all came back upon reboot. I reformatted the entire SDCARD, I reformatted all the user data, did a cache wipe.. nothing works. I'm wondering if my unit is defective? at this point I would love to just have a tablet that I can actually use. I can't understand how it's even possible to not be able to make any changes on the device unless it's reinstalling the ROM everytime I reboot?
What version of CWM are you using and how did you install it?
I was running CWM 8. I couldn't install it via the internal storage. It would boot into recovery mode and "install" but once the machine rebooted it would not boot into CWM. I tried it several times same deal. I could install it but once it rebooted, nothing :/..
So I had to use the micro SD card to install it. I edited the recovery command file and pointed it to the SDCARD2. It installed finally, and stuck!
I tried using the microSD card to install the other ROMs. But unfortunately it will not mount in CWM.
I'm trying to get CWM back on it after doing yet another wipe with NVFLASH. We'll see if I can get it to work..
So i'm basically sitting here with a brick.. unless I never power it off lol!
Ok well another odd thing is going on with this. I'm up and running with CWM 08 again. I can turn on USB mass storage mount. The tablet shows up in windows and on my linux box. I can make whatever changes I want, adding files, deleting everything on it. Nothing matters cause once I unmount and remount the device it's all back to normal. It seems like nothing is allowed to write to the internal storage even though it thinks it does write to it??

[Q] CWM not mounting USB (red) and EXT4

Hello so, my first question is , i have the RED CWM installed on my infuse and the roms run great. However im stumped why whenever i am in red recovery i am unable to mount the USB Storage and see both of my partitions in Windows. I have installed drivers already and its worked long time ago. No missing drivers appear in Device Manager either. So yes, anyone can guide me to fix USB mount in red recovery.
Second question is..
EXT4!
Ive read and read about how wonderful it is, just curious if theres something im supposed to do in order to make my partitions EXT4 so that my phone runs quicker? I havent found a way to figure this out yet and would be nice if i can be pointed in the right direction.
I have the internal memory and a 2 GB microSD card.
USB mounting never worked for me in CWM on the Infuse, I assumed it was broken (it's only ever worked for me on my Captivate using kernels that specifically mentioned it was fixed). I just use adb to push and pull files while in the recovery menu.
As for ext4, it depends on the ROM/kernel you are running. If you flash an AOSP/CM/MIUI ROM, the phone will be using ext4. If you flash a Samsung ROM and you're running an ext4-compatible kernel, you can check the status of your filesystem and convert between rfs and ext4 using the voodoo option in CWM (or, if the kernel supports it, the Voodoo Control app).
USB mass storage mode has never worked in any CWM implementation I've ever seen.
Use ADB push/pull

[Q] Can't Mount Internal /SDcard SGS2

Hi Guys,
After installing the Jellybean version of Resurrection Remix using a clean install like I'd done a million times before, I came across the problem where now the internal "/sdcard" won't mount. I've read a lot of different threads on the web about this but no one seems to have a fix, except for a similar thread from Android Stack Exchange (I can't post it yet).
However, that doesn't work (when I use the ADB shell, I can detect the device, reboot it, remount the /system but not remount the /sdcard). I thought it might possibly be because I tried to fix it a few days ago by formatting the "phone" drive when it popped up on my after connecting it, and the page I referred to talks about the internal SD card being FAT formatted (not NTFS which WIn7 does automatically!).
I've also used Odin to reflash a stock ROM thinking that would fix it, done the whole "format", "factory reset", wiped partitions, caches and delvik caches etc etc to no avail. Now, even when I use recovery to try to mount the /sdcard I get an error, and if I try to format the /sdcard from the recovery menu that doesn't work either.
Problem started with Clockwork Mod 6.6 and so I've downgraded to 5.5 and ICS stock ROM. Still no good.
It's affecting a lot of apps (for example, I can't restore by backup password file to awallet, and it has all my banking details on there!) and I really need to fix it ASAP.
Any ideas?
I'm absolutely desperate and have spent days trying to figure this one out, but I am beat. I need some serious help here and you guys are the ones I think who could help. Anyone??
Cheers,
CJ.

[Q] help needed in sd-mount issue

I am on an unrooted samsung admire phone from metropcs using our version of cwm 5.0.2.8
Stock rom, unrooted and kernel tweaked to 900mhz with init.d support
I have formatted my sd card a million ways to sunday and flashed and reflashed roms on this thing left and right, but in the end I have only been able to reliably mount the sd-ext(anything) partition after boot on one or two occasions.
I dont even know where to look for the issue at hand.
Is mounting of the sd-ext done by the system itself (no mod needed from within boot.img), it it from init.d script only, or something else?
I need to find a starting point for figuring this out, so I can move on to fixing my limited space issues.
