While trying to flash a new ROM I think I may have unplugged the USB cable with the tablet still mounted to a laptop. I now can't seem to access that storage space in any way and am in turn unable to flash any ROM. I don't like the TnT and am trying to flash a ROM without it. Any ideas how to proceed?
Thanks in advance!
does it boot up at least? may be able to factory reset and start over. or even power+VOLUMEUP to try to recovery boot.
i just put on tntlite 2.0. it's super fast. doesn't use a computer. it just strips the stock OS
It does still boot but tablet storage is not accessible. When trying to get into recovery,i get a triangle then it boots normal. Not sure what else to try. Tried mounting in windows and linux to format our repair..no luck!
sounds like the storage partition is corrupted and it crashes when it tries to read it, expecially if you unplugged the cable mid-flash (ouch!)
clockwork mod should let you reformat and partition the internal storage, goodluck, hopefully it's not a low-level problem w/ the storage data structure, ya never know if you were flashing it when it crashed, depends on what mode it was using to flash data to the disk (normal write vs low-level format equiv)
Thanks KM....just to follow up on this thread...I had to return the tab to sears....I exchanged it for a new one and have put TnT lite 2.0 on it. I'm not all that happy and plan to try zpad as it seems like a smoother and faster responding ROM.

I had some issues with my first tab similar to what you are having. The only way I solved it was by reflashing and wiping all date, which takes you back to the EULA. Good luck.
Do you have functional recovery? I'm guessing yes since you partitioned. Go to recovery and flash the rom again. You can mount the usb drivers in cwm to start usb mass storage so that you can download the rom on your computer and transfer to tablet. You can also put rom on external sd card and install from cwm.
When you partitioned the storage you deleted everything including the os. I believe it warned you of that before you did it.
If no recovery then you will have to nvflash. Search nvflash and bekit to get the nvflash info.

Make sure you are using bekits .8 CWM release. The latest release of CWM gave me fits, the only thing that would install was CM 7.
This isn't an Android Development topic, its a General topic, but don't worry about it, a mod will move it.
As to the question, like the others said. Use CWM .08, Wipe System, Wipe Cache, Install zip from SD Card, Install your choice of ROM (in your case, TnT Lite 4.1), Install gApps.zip, Reboot system now. That should get you up and running.
I am confused about you saying that you just now installed CWM but have been running TnT Lite. How would you have done that or do you mean you tried to update CWM or do you mean you have been using the stock TnT?
Also, feel free to hop on the #Tegratab IRC on Freenode if you need fast troubleshooting. Someone is usually on there to help

I "think" i tried this last night. I have 4.1.4 Update.zip and recovery folder on an USB stick. In CW, i went to "mount USB" (thinking i could access my USB and install from there) but ???? i didnt see anything and the only options were install update.zip from SD, and from Location but no USB option, and of course no way (that i saw) to brows to another location to "pick" where i wanted to install from.
Im thinking i am missing something with this step, or just plain old doing it wrong..

I have been installing the Roms, by downloading, taking the two "files" and moving them to my tab, and then rebooting with the power volume up,, ,finds the update and installs the ROM. its worked for all of them since 2.2...i thought i read that was an acceptable means of installing the ROM.????
as far as getting the files onto my SD (now). How? my computer doesnt see the tab because it is just hanging on dancing andy(unless there is anothe way of making it "see it", i cant seem to figure out how to get CW to read from my USB drive.....
Im just plain "stuck".
I am by no means a Android guru, and up to this point havnt had problems in the past... I TRULY am thankful for ANY help and all help i have recieved...
thanks folks

power off the tablet.
hold vol+ then power till u see recovery key pressed in the upper left corner of the screen. it will appear while the birds are still on the screen. If you get to the g tablet screen power off and repeat till u get into cw recovery.
Using volume +/- to navigate up and down Home to select and back to go back one level
Navigate cw recovery till u see mount usb storage i think its under partitions.
when you see usb mounted hook up the usb cable to the computer to the tablet mini usb port. copy the rom of your choice to the tablet. u only need the update.zip
once copied unmount usb storage.
back out till u see apply update.zip
Install and reboot u will be good to go.
of course flash gapps if u know what that is and want market on the tab.
Enjoy.

CW Won't read your USB drive. The "Mount USB" option in CW is to mount your tablet onto your computer as a USB storage device. By doing so, you can push files over to the tablet's internal storage from your computer.

Agree. That is what I was talking about earlier, I just couldn't remember what it was labelled in CWM. Mount the USB to your PC and push over the file. Then in CWM choose install from sdcard (I think, too lazy to look). Navigate to the rom file and run it. All should be well after that.

I've had issues with the dancing droid boot animation (as have many others) where it won't get past the boot screen. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

How do i get the stock one back? im kinda tired of him also
Okay I am super confused. I've successfully used FORMAT utility and also nvflash restore...but the tablet won't format!!! All my apps and settings are still there when I nvflash restore it!
I ran the nvflash_gtablet.bat from the Format utility..and it looked liked it worked: at the end of the process the tablet showed the red font with the kernel mismatch and bootloader not found, or something along those lines..
Just to be safe, I did it a second time. lol
Then I used nvflash restore to restore it back to original shipping.
I noticed right away something was wrong when as soon as it booted to the tap and tap home screen, the screen started to go dim after 15 seconds (that was the screen timeout time I'd set before formatting and all that).
But I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I checked the app drawer, and all my apps are there!!!! Not only that, it connected to my password protected wifi right away!!
Can someone please help me delete the f_ck out of this thing? I want there to be NOTHING left, so I can get a clean start.
The reason I wanted to format is because, I'm having a sound issue with my gtablet (whenever entering the volume control and adjusting the volume the processes always force closes...no matter what ROM I'm on). I wipe data, try to start fresh, but the problem always occurs after a few hours of use on any ROM (even the brand new TNT 5).
And I don't know if this matters or not, I'm on Windows 7, 64 bit...but I obviously have the USB drivers working because I'm using these utilities.
Please somebody? Today is my only day off work for a long long time.
I "THINK" I remember reading that you could flash CWM and from there wipe user data, then run nvflash to get back to stock recovery. Never tried it myself & I'm new here, so take the info for what it is worth.
Don't panic....
I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you read the post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=974422), it states in rather large red letters at top :"This fully erases the ROM but this will NOT affect the internal SD card. You MUST be able to use nvflash to restore the stock firmware."
Since your apps are installed on the internal SD, that's why you see them when you reload the ROM.
Edit: If I were you, I'd run the Format and load stock, then reload Clockwork and format the internal SD. That should get you back to a rather vanilla slate.
You can also refer to the posting below as another source. If you go down to the Homebrew link found in the posting, it's is used to revert the gtab back to it's original TnT state.

format and nvflash do not erase personnal data, a full reflash of difference firmware might format your personnal data, if you want to wipe out data, use the Factory wipe in the CW menu

Thank you all for your replies. But I am a little confused still. AFAIK the apps aren't on the sd card...wouldn't I be able to see them when I mount the sd card on the computer?
ksc6000,
Storage devices on the G-Tablet are named as follows:
/sdcard -- main memory
/sdcard2 -- external mini-SD card
/usbdisk -- USB key

Hey everyone,
So I got my tablet today and have been working on it for the past 8 hours!! I finally got CWmod on it and running. Had a nightmare of a time getting it to work correctly and after using NVFLASH to nuke the whole tablet and install the stock ROM, then updating i was able to get CWmod to run. Now I'm having a really odd issue.
I can boot into CWmod. I repartitioned the SD card, mounted it. I can see the device in windows but when I add ANYTHING to the internal SD card it is completely gone once I reboot the device. I'm trying to get a ROM on it but it's like the drive is locked or something really weird. It copys onto the tablet just fine. the second I reboot everything is deleted.
I feel like I'm missing something here. I had that issue with it when I ran the stock ROM. I could change something and it would not stick after a reboot. For example registering my device on kindle and then downloading books. as soon as I reboot the machine it's as if i never registered it. I'm really at a loss as to what to do with this. I can't seem to get it to save anything on the internal storage.
Well after fiddling with it for a while longer I'm about to give up. I used NVFLASH to get it to the stock ROM again. updated to 3588 and yet again, I can't get any changes to stick. I can change anything and everything on it while it's powered on. The second I power it off and reboot it nukes everything I did (and takes close to 5-6 minutes to boot). I even mounted it and deleted every single file on the internal storage. They all came back upon reboot. I reformatted the entire SDCARD, I reformatted all the user data, did a cache wipe.. nothing works. I'm wondering if my unit is defective? at this point I would love to just have a tablet that I can actually use. I can't understand how it's even possible to not be able to make any changes on the device unless it's reinstalling the ROM everytime I reboot?
What version of CWM are you using and how did you install it?
I was running CWM 8. I couldn't install it via the internal storage. It would boot into recovery mode and "install" but once the machine rebooted it would not boot into CWM. I tried it several times same deal. I could install it but once it rebooted, nothing :/..
So I had to use the micro SD card to install it. I edited the recovery command file and pointed it to the SDCARD2. It installed finally, and stuck!
I tried using the microSD card to install the other ROMs. But unfortunately it will not mount in CWM.
I'm trying to get CWM back on it after doing yet another wipe with NVFLASH. We'll see if I can get it to work..
So i'm basically sitting here with a brick.. unless I never power it off lol!
Ok well another odd thing is going on with this. I'm up and running with CWM 08 again. I can turn on USB mass storage mount. The tablet shows up in windows and on my linux box. I can make whatever changes I want, adding files, deleting everything on it. Nothing matters cause once I unmount and remount the device it's all back to normal. It seems like nothing is allowed to write to the internal storage even though it thinks it does write to it??
I forgot that after oem unlock all data + sdcard is wiped out. So i had some photos that i need to recover from that device. Is there any thing that i can do to recover them. Any good software alternatives?. I tried testdisk but it couldn't do much , since it couldn't detect partition table type. Currently i am using PC Inspector File Recovery, but lets c what happens. Meanwhile I need some recommendation from the forum?
I don't know if it can help you but take a look at Recuva from Piriform (less than 10 posts, cannot paste a link :'( )
Don't transfer data to the sdcard. Use cwm to mount the sdcard to a computer. Then use a couple of different recovery apps to try and piece your drive back together through the comp.
Its not a thorough wipe so as long as you don't write to the sdcard you should get a decent amount back. This is the most important step. Even booting into android could force writes you don't want.
I am in through CWM
Yeah I am mounting USB via CWM, actually i wanted to copy all the data to the pc and then install CM9 but i saw that there was nothing else remaining
Let see what happens I will be using some recovery software. I will be reporting back if I find something that works better than others
Hi there,
So I have my good old OnePlus One, but its got a few issues and I wanna fix them.
The problems are that apps suddenly crash. Facebook Messenger and YouTube (only when casting) are the main two. I assume this is caused by dirty flashing between versions of CM13. The other issue is that the phone will lose all mobile data connections randomly and the only way to bring it back is to reboot the phone, aeroplane mode or 3/4G toggling doesn't fix the issue. My guess is that maybe the modem is incorrect?
I want to do a full reflash of CM13 by Jgcap, its the current ROM I'm using. I also want to format the partitions to F2FS because the ROM supports it and I've wanted to move to F2FS a few times but something usually goes wrong.
I'm using the official 3.0.2-0 TWRP but I cannot get it to mount ADB/USB at all, the PC detects that a 'Google Nexus ADB Interface' device has been connected but doesn't come up with any storages. Changing which partition which is mounted has no effect. So if I did format the partitions to F2FS, I wouldn't be able to put the ROM back onto the internal storage as the PC isn't seeing any storage devices.
My plan is to do a clean reflash of the CM13 and have the correct partitions formatted to F2FS, but because of the above issues, I cannot change the file system to F2FS because in any file system, the PC cannot see any storage devices when I mount TWRP and connect the USB.
It seems I have some issues with the USB driver. Even when I'm just in windows and normally connecting the phone when its in android, the USB seems to not work first time. If I connect my phone, it will show as 'A0001' in Device Manager but with an exclamation mark next to it. If I then unplug and replug the phone in, it will then work fine without issues. This has been the case with this phone since I got it, the above workaround means I can connect the phone to the PC for file transfer but it is annoying!
So I guess my questions are, how can I reinstall all types of correct USB drivers for the phone? and also which TWRP version should I use for the ADB/TWRP file transfer to put a ROM on the phone after formatting to F2FS? Flashing the firmware, ROM and Gapps etc, I have no issue with.
Sorry If this is hard to read, piecing it all together is frustrating.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
donk165
