I've had a couple of Kraken cases from Trident before, but honestly I think mid level protection suits 95% of the people in the world. I've done combat equipment jumps with TPU cases. A person's clumsiness might be their worst enemy.
Name an occasion where you might need even more protection. Hmm... If you're going to mount the phone externally on a holster or bicycle handlebars, you might need the added protection. I'll probably be carrying this in my pocket though.
Ask me to name another case that reminds me of the Aegis, and I'd reply Commuter (Otterbox). Basic design and price point are similar.
Let me get to the point. This case is nice. I like it! In my opinion it has more style than the Commuter. The rubber is placed appropriately to provide the best grip and protection.
Something I didn't mention in the video is that the opening for the camera/flash are larger than with most cases. Good point is that it can fit some universal add on lenses like those from PhotoJojo.com. No distortion from the lens not being able to mount flat and centered on the camera. Bad point is that it would make the camera more susceptible to damage.

Well, I guess the HTC One has a buddy now. If you watch the video you'll see. They are now both sitting in similar cases. These don't add much bulk to the device and the price is fair in comparison to other cases on the market.
Honestly, this will probably be one of my favorite cases, and we all know there are a lot on the market.

Thanks for the video. The rubber not fitting right around the top/sides would drive me nuts, I'll have to keep looking.
I'm glad I mentioned that! Welcome...

I have to say this case still edges out the Sedio Surface case IMO. I'm waiting for a Trident Aegis case, but the US Postal Service has failed me.
I actually bought this case and even thought it fit the phone to me it didn't feel like the hard cover fit very snug on the silicon part. The silicon part just didn't seem to fit right to me but I think it just a matter of preference.
I ended up buying this case by Diztronics http://tpu-cases.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=42_87&products_id=344 fits very nice on my phone.
I have a couple more Spigen products that I have to unbox in the next few days. I wanted to get around to this one in particular though because I have 20 counterfeit cases sitting on my desk as well.
In future videos I'll do an in depth comparison of what an authentic one is like vs the fake. I'll also show you how to turn lemons into lemonade as well.
EDIT:

Does it get scratched? I want to get the white one but afraid it would get scratches and black marks/lines easily. Can you post pictures of its current status? Scratched or not and how many days used?

It's slick plastic and will certainly get scratched, buffed, marred as you use it, all the while keeping the actual phone looking like new. You'll have to expect some wear and tear. Your mileage may vary.

the reason i ask is that it's pricey and at the same time it really looks good, i dont want to get it and after a few weeks it gets scratched and some marks on the plastic cover. do you own one? on the website they say scratch resistant. i think i should go for another colour.
Yeah what jwhistler said. I don't have the device anymore, but any case that doesn't have a silicone or similar outer cover will get scratched on just about any surface.

Yes, I have one but I don't use it anymore. The case, for my useage needs, is just too slick and streamlined. My Gumby like hands find it difficult to hold on to, so I've moved on to the Body Glove Toughsuit. Now my phone no longer looks sleek....looks more like a mechanized brick, but at least I can hold on to it!
Acase sent me a handful of these cases as a "sample". Despite this coming as a shipment via China Post, I was happy that it is far superior to Spigen counterfeit (Slim Armor) cases that come from the same region.
This case fits my description as a mid level protection case. The criteria for that is that no portion of the device can touch a flat surface when mounted inside the case. Most are dual layer. True dual layers are usually a plus in my mind as I believe they will provide more impact absorbtion in general. An example of a case that I consider not true dual layer would be the Speck Candyshell or the UAG. Both pieces are molded together. Some cases that fit the first criteria can still slim into the low protection category. The Seidio Surface seems to straddle the border.
What I'm really trying to say is that this case will most likely protect your device from most falls (ie getting out of the car while the phone is in your lap). For most colors, I wish they were a little grippier. Far from the worst I've felt though. The matte black version feels a little more grippy in my opinion.
Everything appears to fit together really well. The polycarbonate layer hold the silicone layer in place like it should. The volume rockers and power button give feedback when depressed. No struggle there. All ports are easily accessible.
The price comes in lower than most mid level protection devices though. On their Facebook page they link to this Amazon listing:
http://bit.ly/16uGGRw
There it is available for $24.95 with free shipping. In general a mid level protection case will run you around $35.

I've got a Spigen Neo Hybrid case for my Galaxy S6, and after chucking on a tempered glass onto the front + back of the phone, I just can't keep using the case (the feeling of the phone in my hand is too damn nice).
I've been trying to find a good leather sleeve for my phone, and I've found a few of them below:
(Can't post links because of post limit)
- Etzy Leather Case from JACCET
- Senacases Heritage Ultraslim
I was wondering before I make a purchase (learning towards the senacases one), if anyone has had experience with leather sleeves with their phones before and can recommend a brand/make.
Just looking for a slim leather sleeve with no tags of any kind (branding tags to the sides or magnetic clips at the top).
I have used these pouches from iGadgitz for a number of years on my S3. I also purchased the Neo Hybrid (I like it a lot) as well as the iGadgitz from Amazon. It's a bit tough to get the phone in/out at first but it will stretch out a bit until it's a good fit. The little tag (which basically loops under the phone) makes it very easy to get out.
I find the S6 way too slippery, so more than likely I'll be returing the pouch.
Thanks for that mate, but I was looking for something without tags as I find they catch onto the inside of my pocket too much and ruin the aesthetics.
You can try any sleeve that worked for the gs5. The dimensions are super close, and you won't notice much of a gap. I purchased this Amazon Snugg Pouch and it works well. Not too snug, not too loose. Good protection. It's not the best quality, but for 10 bucks, I can't complain.
I have a good option for ya
You can choose Beyza Case. It is a very high quality product and a bit cheaper than Sena case. However, it is shipped from Turkey (takes a week to arrive in US)

Hey all, thought I'd post a few quick reviews of some sleeves I ordered from Amazon. I've always preferred to keep my devices naked in hand, but protected in my pocket.
First up is the Rustic Leather iPhone 6 Plus Sleeve Handmade by Hide & Drink :: Guatemalan Cacao - $9.99 at time of review
Pros:
Cheap
Excellent Quality
Great Protection
Very Attractive
Can Charge Phone While In Case
Cons:
Adds A Slight Amount Of Width
I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of this case when I opened the package. For $10, this sleeve is an absolute no brainer. Honestly, I'd consider it a bargain at two to three times the price. I'm pretty sure I paid $50 for a similar iPod Touch case from Saddleback Leather a few years ago. This product is very comparable, but uses a thinner piece of leather. The Saddleback case was very rigid, which was good and bad. Good in that it was very protective, bad in that it was very bulky in the pocket. I'd actually say this case is a better product because of the thinner leather. It's certainly not skimpy by any means, and I think it's a better compromise of protection vs bulk.
As you can see from the product name, it was designed for the iPhone 6 Plus, but as you can also see from the pics, it's a perfect fit for the Nexus 6p. Very tight to slide the phone in, but fairly easy to remove because of the cutout at the bottom.

Next up is the xhorizon TM Dark Elastic Neoprene Absorbing Pouch Case Cover ZY for 5.5 inch iPhone 6 Plus - $6.49 at time of review
Pros:
Super Cheap
Decent Protection
Keeps Screen Clean
Slim In The Pocket
Cons:
Less Protective
There's not a whole lot to say about this simple Neoprene case, other than that it does its job well. The Nexus 6p fits perfectly inside and remains fairly snug, requiring a bit of a tug to remove. Nothing significant really, but you don't have to worry about your phone just falling out of this case. As you can see in the pics, the back of the case is slightly taller than the front, which offers a bit of added protection for the top of the phone.
Another nice feature of this case is that the Neoprene does a great job of cleaning the screen as you slide the phone in and out of the case. This became especially apparently when I switched from this case to the leather case above. All of a sudden my screen seems peppered with little dots of lint that I hadn't noticed before.
Protection from this case will be mostly limited to scratches and scuffs from the detritus in your pocket. It may help pad the device in the event of a short fall, but I certainly wouldn't depend on it. For my purposes, though, I find it to be a great case.

Third is the Synthetic Leather iPhone 6 Plus and 6S Plus Sleeve - Slightly Padded Microfiber Lined Executive Professional Synthetic Leather Case by Dockem (Dark Brown) - $9.99 at time of review
Pros:
Slim
Cons:
Unattractive
Creased
This was the first sleeve I ordered for my Nexus 6p and based on the 4.7 out of 5 star average Amazon review (out of 29 reviews!), I had fairly high expectations. This was probably one of the most disappointing items I've received in more than a decade of shopping at Amazon. As you can see in the last pic, it's a very flimsy, thin sleeve. The one I received has a very ugly crease through the middle of it, which was not caused by shipping as it was in a box laying flat with one other item and several inflatable pockets of cushioning.
The Nexus 6p does fit in the case, but it's a pretty tight fit. It's a little more difficult to extract the phone than I expected, but it is manageable with the slot cut out of the top. Not sure what else to say really, I hate this one.
Definitely Not Recommended

Last is the SOSAM 2Xpack Microfiber Sleeve Pouch Cover CasePouch For iphone 5 5S /iphone 6 6plus , Samsung HTC ONE / Blackberry Z10 Mini Wallet Purse Hand Bag Cloth Coin Cell Phone Bag Mobile Pouch (Black) - $8.00 at time of review
Pros:
Dirt Cheap
External Pocket
You Get Two?
Cons:
Major Lint Collector
Weird Clasp
You Get Two
At least with this case, I wasn't expecting much. With an effective cost of $4 each, how good can they be? Well, let's just put it this way, I want my $8 back. I have two dogs, and as soon as I opened this package, dog hair was immediately sucked from throughout my house to the felt of this pouch. You'd have thought these things were made by Dyson! On the positive side, the Nexus 6p fits fairly well into this case with a bit of extra room on the sides. The top is another matter though, the device protrudes a few millimeters from the top edge of the pouch. The unwieldy closure is a pain to use and despite the manufacturer's description of a drawstring closure, neither of mine function in that manner. You have to feed the longer string (with the bead) through the shorter string which catches on the bead to keep the pouch closed. Not very innovative and not really that functional.
About the only positive thing I have to say about this case is that it sports an external slot/pocket where you could store a pair of earbuds or a few bucks. Don't waste your money.
Absolutely NOT Recommended

I'm still waiting for my fitBAG Beat White custom tailored sleeve for Huawei Nexus 6P. Fine nappa leather pouch with integrated microfibre lining for display cleaning to arrive from Germany. I'll update this post when I receive it.
Do you think the phone would fit in any of these if it has a slim case on it?
Only the Sosam, which I really wouldn't recommend.

That's too bad. I would love to find one that can handle a slim case. I need it to put my phone in when I stick it in my backpack prior to going through airport security.
Thanks for these reviews - VERY helpful!
