Hi,
I am currently trying on new ROMs (ICS for Nexus S i9020t).
I was wondering if I can back up my apps before trying new ROMs and restore them on the newly installed ROMs.
Can this be done? I just want to backup the apps, like gmail, clock settings, gentle alarm (w/settings) etc.
Use titanium

Yes you can.
Use Titanium Backup to do this.
You can find it here.
Hi I have a problem that I have had in the past and the help and answers I received then did not help or solve my problem hoping that now (atleast 6 months later) there is improvement regarding this. My problem is a large majority of the roms I would love to have on my phone when I log into Market I only get about 13 of my 40+ apps that I paid for. The following roms are a few of the roms that I have flashed today that give me the problem also what is puzzling is that one developer "Al-Khawarizimisoft" which I have bought about 10 apps from these roms only show about five from him (one that is on my phone and four on his site but the site does not show that one on my phone) and he has made atleast 25 apps.
Android Revolution HD 5.0.2 XE
Dec. 29 InsertCoin 4.0.4 IceCreamSandwich 3.5 Beats
Megadroid Ice Cream Sanwich Sensation 4.0.1 v1.3
[ROM] MIUI.US HTC Sensation
Dec.28 Black ICE 4.0 ICS
As you can see from the pictures i'm only getting a total 17 apps actually it is only 13 can't count Backup Gmail and the like that are free.
Now the Rom that I had been using was [ROM][MULTI LANGUAGE] |Oct 2| Energy™ as I just flashed to Android_Revolution_HD-Sensation_3.6.9 which market works fine as it did on [29 DEC' 11] WP7.0.4 Pyramid Edition which is a MIUI, and Coredroid's Rom.
So why is it that I get my full market apps in so few roms? How can I get full market on the roms I really want?
Thank for all help given
Please put this in the Q & A section brother. You have 422 posts so I KNOW you know better.
Just use Titanium Backup. You don't need to download all your apps from the market every time you flash a new ROM.

Thanks for your direction in my desperate state with this issue I wasn't really thinking and I was also thinking that more of the devs would see it here as I was trying to direct it towards them since it affects so many roms.
Now how do I move it?

Thanks for your response I have never used it. How do I use it and I thought that everything got erased when doing a full wipe? Also how does this solve the other problem of me accessing the apps that are not showing as I said in the example I gave the roms are only showing 4 of 20+ apps, besides the 10+ I paid for there are some that are free that aren't showing either.
I think it mainly has to do with what rom you use and the build.prop that the market reads on the phone/rom. Being you are in the US, you need a US based build.prop to read your apps. If you are using a euro based rom, then of course not all US based apps will be compatible... technically.
I never had issues with my apps. But I do use titanium backup to restore my apps.

Hey all,
My dad has a Sensation XE and played much games on it. Now i want to set ics on his phone but i dont want to wipe all his game data..
Is there any way to do Put ics on his XE without losing his gamedata?
Thanx in advance!
Kind regards,
Patrick
Titanium Backup backs up your app AND the apps data. When restoring it will ask if u want to restore Just App or App+Data.. u know what to pick...

Yeah was thinking that too but sometimes on nu own phones it didnt work always as i wanted to. Are you sure that game data from like angry birds will be restored?
Thx for ur answer btw
I did it few times, it works great...all games and data saved and restored perfectly
just backup all personal data (not system) in menu>multiple batch>backup all user apps, all files will be saved in the sd...
you super wipe, install ics rom, install titanium and all your backups will be there...just restore what you want with multiple batch>restore all apps and data

sure XD I never do that...my fault...is better if you do that
If you're having the official ICS then you don't have to worry about apps and data, the update won't wipe your phone or game data. But some other apps might not work properly after that. Just reinstall those apps.

Wow thx all for the helpful reply's!
I think i want my dad's phone on ICS
Do you guys have any good reason to promise my dad it is gonna be much better then his stock 2.3.4 rom? Like having better battery life (he is whining about it now and then) or faster, smoother or anything else?
Which rom is the most stable and best modable without too much doing too much updates to the phone, because he always asks what i am doing with his phone
So I want him to upgrade to ICS with the most stable ROM and with the best battery life availible atm, can you guys advise me something nice?
android revolution hd is the best based on official relase 3.6 sense
best rom ever
try backup pro

If his phone is unrooted and totally stock. He can wait official OTA update. Even if latest custom Rom with official based ICS still have some bugs and some apps can't run smoothly on it. (Probably due to ICS or HTC or just the app )
But if he doesn't care these small bugs, just flash the custom Rom and recover the data with Titaneum backup. ARHD 6.60 was great.

guys i need help, i have stock jelly bean 4.1.1 on my nexus s, and i wanted to have that black bean or inverted messaging, contacts and calendar for my phone, i tried using someone's help and i ended up restoring my phone twice, once i replaced the original one and then used twrp to flash it, but everytime it said messaging has stopped unfortunately need help regarding this please, if someone can help me get a few pointers how to replace my apps with inverted ones, hurts my eyes too since i have weak eyes
PS yes i'm rooted
Why don't you just flash blackbean or some other 4.2.2 rom that supports dark-toggled gapps and system apps? What's hindering you?

well because they're not probably as stable as the stock rom? is what i've read probably ... if it is then i'll give it a go, and i have twrp by the way, it's the easiest to work with in my opinion, can it be done using twrp? i've had bad experience with cwm
Hello everyone.
I have installed Ditto Rom v3, that custom rom was perfect but I faced with a trouble. I wiped the phone and installed Phoenix v15. My problem has solved.
Yet, I didnt like stock keyboard, even I hate it. Ditto's keyboard was excellent. Can I bring back it ? I want to delete original keyboard from the system and install Ditto's keyboard.
My phone is Note II (N7100) by the way.
Thanks.
Will anyone help me, please ?
There are plenty of keyboard apks out there. U can definitely find the keyboard or looking for.

May be it is too late now because you have already installed a new rom.
When you were with you old rom, you can try backup software like Tianium Backup to backup your keyboard then restore it to your new rom. However, you must have both old and the new rom rooted.
